Beulah M. Brown, 103, formerly of Edgewood Avenue, DuBoistown, and the Hillside Assisted Living Community, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, in Rose View Center.

Mrs. Anna L. Steiner, 91, died Wednesday, October 26, at the Williamsport Home. She was a long-time resident of Montoursville and a graduate of the Class of 1932 at Montoursville High School.

Ambrose L. Frederick, 87, of Blossburg, died Oct. 26, 2005, at the Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro.

W. Robert Schneider, age 75, of English Run Road, Morris, Pa., died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at The Green Home where he had been a patient for several days.

Darlene C. Gottschall
Darlene C. Gottschall, 75, passed away on Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at Napa Hospital following a lengthy illness. A native of Lycoming County, she was born on Aug. 14, 1930, to Howard C. and Harriet J. (Hilner) Newman.

Robert P. Eckard, of Cogan Station, died October 26 in the Williamsport Hospital.

Dean F. Thomke, 60, of Montoursville, Pa., formerly of Germania, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, in the Williamsport Hospital.

Doris M. Heyer

Doris M. Heyer Doris M. Heyer, who passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010, is also survived by a sister-in-law, Audrey Achenbach, of Plainfield Township. Services: Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. Relatives and friends are invited to call, from 10am till time of service, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Belfast Union Cemetery.

Daniel J. Sabatine

Daniel J. Sabatine, 23, of Bangor, died Monday, November 1, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born: March 3, 1987 in Easton, he was a son of David Sabatine of Bangor and the late Kathleen "Kate" Straub Sabatine. Personal: Dan loved life and had a positive outlook on things despite several hardships he experienced during his short life. Dan was a friend to many, all of whom would agree that he never failed to make them laugh or put a smile on their face. He was an avid golfer and poker player, but he mostly just enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He was a kind, caring and thoughtful person who died long before his time and is loved and will be dearly missed by many. He was a 2005 graduate of Bangor High School. Memberships: He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Roseto. Survivors: In addition to his father, David, he is survived by two brothers, Adam and Matthew, both at home; paternal grandmother, Josephine Sabatine of Bangor; and many aunts and uncles and cousins. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 11 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Third & Garibaldi Avenues, Roseto. Call on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Fiore Funeral Home, www.fiorefuneralhome.com, 230 Market St., Bangor. Burial will be in the New Catholic Cemetery, Roseto. Harold Attanasio

Harold "Nat" or "Big Daddy" Attanasio, 63, of Easton, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010 in Easton Hospital after being stricken at home. Born: November 5, 1947 in Glen Gardner, NJ, he was a son of Harold Apgar and Helen Sliker Attanasio. Personal: He and his wife, the former Diane Bourquin, celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on April 11, 2010. Nat served with the Army during the Vietnam War. He last worked for Opdyke Lumber, in Frenchtown, NJ for 17 years. Prior to that, he was employed by Fox Lumber, Clinton, NJ for 18 years. Nat was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and camper. He also enjoyed dirt track racing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sorely missed by his family and many true friends. Memberships: He was a life member of No. 1 Firehouse, Phillipsburg, NJ, the Order of Fleas, Liberty Hose Company and Citizens Hose Company where he served on the board of directors. He was a former chief of the High Bridge Volunteer Fire Company. Survivors: in addition to his wife, Diane; are two sons, Russell and his wife, Jennifer of Phillipsburg and Nathan of Wilson Borough; a daughter, Stacey Baptiste and her husband, Scott of Pittsburgh, PA; five grandchildren, Amber, Chase, Dakota Attanasio, Shyla and Savian Baptiste; and blessed dog, Tater. Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 602 W. Berwick St., Easton. Call Wednesday Noon to 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials: in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the , 212 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.

Madelyn Marie LaPenna

Madelyn Marie LaPenna,90, of Stroudsburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 5, 2010 at the Golden Living Center, East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Born: February 23, 1920in Stroudsburg, a daughter of the late Matteo and Rose Panza Dave. Personal: She was the wife of the late Michael LaPenna, who passed May 22, 2004. She was a graduate of Stroudsburg High School with the Class of 1937 and a member of the National Honor Society. She worked for her Father who owned Matteo Dave's Italian Grocery Store in Stroudsburg until her retirement in 1982. Memberships: Madelyn is a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church of Stroudsburg. A member and Past Officer of the Italian Mutual Benefit Association Auxiliary, Stroudsburg. Survivors:Madelyn is survived by her loving son, Nicholas B. LaPenna and his wife Maryann of East Stroudsburg; her granddaughter, Christine LaFlair and her husband Chris; and great-granddaughter, Amanda of Sellersville, PA; and her grandson, Steven LaPenna and his wife Kara and two great-grandsons Lukas and Maddox of Alexandria, VA; her sister, Millicent (Millie) Jacques and her husband Joseph of Stroudsburg; also numerous caring nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her son Matthew G. LaPenna in 1983 and a brother James Dave. Services:A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday May 10, 2010 at 9 a.m. at St Luke's Catholic Church, 818 Main Street, Stroudsburg with Rev Father Thomas D. McLaughlin as celebrant.Burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven Section of Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.Visitation will be on Sunday evening May 9, 2010 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Pula & Bensing Funeral Home, 23 North Ninth Street, Stroudsburg and on Monday from 8 to 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials:In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Luke's Catholic Church, 818 Main Street, Stroudsburg PA 18360.

Robert A. "Rob" Blanche

Robert A. "Rob" Blanche, 78, of Washington NJ died Monday April 5, 2010 in Easton Hospital. Born: He was born in Jersey City NJ April 22, 1931. He was the son of the late Gerald and Anna Pucci Blanche. Personal: His wife of over 49 years the former Phyllis Mettler died Oct 20, 2000. For the past 23 years he worked in Jury management at the Court House in Belvidere NJ. From 1955-1988 along with his brother Jerry owned and operated Jerry's Meat Market. A long time Washington Business that was started by their father around 1930. Rob served in the Navy during the Korean War. A life long resident of Washington, Rob served on the Borough Council from 1978-1982. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and traveling out west with his brother "Tex". He enjoyed his time working at the court house as well as his trips to the casinos. He loved gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Memberships: He was a member of the Washington VFW and the Bear Den Gun Club. Rob was a member of the Warren Hills/Washington High School Wall of Fame for his efforts in football in the 1940's. Rob was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church in Washington NJ. Survivors: He is survived by three sons, Rob of Bethlehem Twp PA, Philip of Washington NJ and Joseph of Stewartsville NJ; a sister, Grace Fioretta of Granda Hills CA; and three grandchildren, Rebecca, Robert and Ryan, and many nieces and nephews. Rob is also survived by his sister-in-law Shirley Blanche of Mt Bethel PA. He was preceded in death by his two brothers Frank "Tex" Blanche and Jerry Blanche. Services: Visitation for Rob will be Friday April 9, from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the DeVoe Funeral Service, 136 West Washington Ave., Washington NJ 07882. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday April 10, 2010 at 9 a.m. in St Joseph Catholic Church, 200 West Carlton Ave., Washington NJ followed by the interment in the St Joseph Cemetery. Memorials: The family requests Mass's to be said in Rob's name at the church or donations to the American Heart Association.

Samuel G. Lacava

Samuel G. Lacava, 61, of Greenwich Township, NJ, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010 in Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg. Born: June 18, 1949 in Newark, NJ; he was a son of the late Samuel J. and Ann Juliano Lacava. Personal: He had lived in Piscataway before moving to Greenwich Township 23 years ago. Samuel received his B.A. in 1972 from Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa. He was a sales manager for Kitchen Magic in Phillipsburg. He was a tennis pro for Murray Hill Racket Club in Murray Hill, NJ. Survivors: His wife of 25 years, Stephanie E. Renick Lacava; two daughters, Briana L. and Kimberly E., both at home; a brother Alan Lacava of Lyndhurst; two nieces and two nephews. Services: Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Funeral services and entombment will be private at the Holy Cross Mausoleum in North Arlington, NJ.

Antonio Fucci

Antonio Fucci, 89, of Phillipsburg, died Friday, November 5, 2010 in the Brakeley Park Center, Lopatcong Township, NJ. Born: October 22, 1921 in New Village, NJ, he was a son of the late Michael and Stefanina Colucci Fucci. Personal: Antonio served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired Mason. His wife, the former Patricia Deemer, died August 8, 2009. Antonio enjoyed playing his guitar and entertaining. He was also a Chicago Cubs fan. Survivors: He is survived by three sons, William M. of Lopatcong Township, Stephen G. of Phillipsburg and Raymond D. of Plainfield Township, PA; a brother, Michael of Germantown, Tenn; two sisters, Mabel Vazquez of Beattystown, NJ and Lena Stauffer of Washington Township, NJ; eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by two sons, Antonio "Carmen", Jr. and Thomas J.; a daughter, Mary A. Fucci; four brothers, Clement "Lundy", George, August and Nicholas; two sisters, Lucy Bernardesca and Vincenza Tolotta and a grandson, Stephen. Services: A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2010 in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St, Phillipsburg, NJ. There will be no services. Joseph C. Nixon Sr.

Joseph C. Nixon Sr., 75, of Easton, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 in Easton Hospital. Born: March 1, 1935 in Easton, he was a son of the late Joseph and Florence Morrison McCabe. Personal: Joe and his wife, Edith H. Weiss Nixon, celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on November 15, 2010. Joe was a 1953 graduate of Easton High School and proudly served in the Marine Corps. He was a trainman for the Lehigh Valley Railroad, later Conrail, before retiring in 1985. He was an avid golfer and bowler and also loved hunting and fishing. Memberships: Joe was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, now Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and a former member of St. Joseph's Men's Choir. He also was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, Phillipsburg as well as the Citizens Hose Co., Liberty Hose Co., Fraternal Order of Fleas, Safety First Volunteer Fire Co. and the Wilson Borough Republican Club. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Edith, Joe is survived by a son, Joseph Jr. and his wife, Jane, of Forks Township; two daughters, Ann Thomas and her husband, Ron, of Easton, and Elaine Souders and her husband, Rick, of Palmer Township; a brother, Robert McCabe of Kunkletown; and six grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Elizabeth Nixon and Kimberly, Ron and Brandon Thomas. Services: Will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 602 W. Berwick Street, Easton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Davis and St. Joseph Streets, Easton. Call Tuesday (tonight) 5 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph's New Cemetery. Memorials: , 212 East Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.

Thomas D. Williams

Thomas D. Williams, 75, of Ocean City, NJ passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point, NJ. Born: in Pen Argyl, PA, and raised in Roseto, PA, he was formerly of Lansdale, PA and a resident of Ocean City, NJ for 41 years. Personal: Mr. Williams was a graduate of Bangor High School, in PA, class of 1953. He received his B.S. in Education from East Stroudsburg University and his Masters in Education from Temple University. He worked as a Guidance Counselor for Souderton High School from 1960 until 1969. Mr. Williams was the Owner of Tom's Deli in Ocean City, NJ for 32 years before his retirement. After retirement, Tom worked for the City of Ocean City in the department of Planning and Engineering. Memberships: He was a member of St. Augustine's R. C. Church, the Ocean City Retail Merchants, the Ocean City Exchange Club, and was a Director of the Ocean City Parking Authority. Survivors: Surviving are his wife, Gail Adams Williams of Ocean City, NJ; a son, Scott Williams and his wife Elaine of Ocean City, NJ and their children, Dan, Zac, Nick, Louie, and Sammy; a daughter, Karen Mahar and her husband Jim of Ocean City, NJ and their children, Thomas, Victor and Millie; a brother, John Williams of Somers Point, NJ his daughters Suzanne and her husband Rich Barnard, Barbara and her husband Doug Fasick and their families; sister-in-law, Gloria Dougherty and her husband Ed Dougherty and their daughters Cynthia Dougherty and Kathy and her husband Mike Kreck and family. He was predeceased by his parents, Dan and Millie Williams. Services: Friends may call Thursday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday morning at 11 a.m. from St. Augustine's R. C. Church, 13th Street at Wesley Avenue, Ocean City, NJ where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of mass. Burial will be private. Memorials: The family suggests those who desire send memorial contributions to S.C.A.T. (Student Coalition Against Tobacco,) c/o Ocean City High School, 501 Atlantic Avenue, Ocean City, NJ 08226.

Soccorso "Sam" Rizzolino

Soccorso "Sam" Rizzolino, 76, of Conway, South Carolina, formerly of Palmer Township, passed away Monday, June 7, 2010 at his residence. Born: Sam was born on July 19, 1933 in Castel dilucio Sicily Italy, a son of the late Giuseppe and Maria Lutri Rizzolino. Personal: Upon arriving in the United States, Sammy, while working factory jobs, started a lawn care business with one lawn mower and the family station wagon. This small business grew into what is today Palmer Nursery, Easton, Pa; retiring in 1995. Memberships: He was a member of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Conway, SC, a member of Moose in Palmer Township, Wilson Boro Lions Club and Conway Lions Club. Survivors: Surviving are two sisters, Maria Rizzolino in Candini of Bologna, Italy and Dina Rizzolino in Fraggettia and her husband Luigi Fraggettia of Frankfurt, Germany; one brother, Salvatore Rizzolino and his wife, Enza of Castel Guelfo, Bologna, Italy. Mr. Rizzolino was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Antonio "Nino" Rizzolino. Surviving his marriage to the late Rosaria De Francesca are four sons, Joe and his wife Maria of Forks Township, PA, Pat and his wife Cindy of Nazareth, PA, Robert and his wife Therese of Palmer Township, PA, Tony Rizzolino and his wife Julie of Palmer Township, PA; three grandsons, Joey Rizzolino, Robbie Rizzolino and Nino Rizzolino; seven granddaughters, Karissa Rizzolino, Taylor Rizzolino, Victoria Rizzolino, Madison Rizzolino, Nicole Rizzolino, Macy Rizzolino, and Rose Rizzolino. Surviving his marriage to Shirley Smith Long Rizzolino are two step-sons, Steven Long, Kim Long; two step-daughters, Candy Cherry and Sherry Coleman; five step-grandsons, Christian Cherry, Mackenzie Long, Dylan Long, Ethan Long and Joshua Coleman; and two step-granddaughters, Brittany Cherry and Victoria Coleman. Services: Calling hours will be held on Sunday, from 5 to 7 p.m. and also Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.). A Service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Palmer Township. Interment will be at Easton Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 212 E. Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018.
