Elizabeth A. Rasely, 92, formerly of East Bangor, PA, passed away Wednesday, September 8th, 2010 at Gracedale, the Northampton County Home, Upper Nazareth Twp., PA. Born: December 13, 1917, in East Bangor, PA the daughter of the late ClarenceO. and Hannah Evans Rasely. Personal: Elizabeth had a zest for life, and enjoyed her family and friends. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening and nature.She was employed as a Supervisor at New York City Hospital, New York, NY. She was a graduate of the Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, PA Memberships: She was a member of East Bangor United Methodist Church in East Bangor, PA. Survivors: Elizabeth is survived by three nieces, Rebecca L. Hamm of Houston, TX, Sue E. Hamm of Bethlehem, PA, Hannah Ellen Tomatis of Loyalton, CA; one nephew, George E. Hamm of Bethlehem, PA; two great- nieces; and eight great- nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters Marjorie Caldwell and Harriet Hamm, a brother George D. Rasely, two nieces Isabelle Camp and Rachel R. Bullingerand a nephew Thomas A. Hamm. Services: Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the East Bangor United Methodist Church, 136 W. Central Ave., East Bangor, PA. Burial will be in East Bangor Cemetery, East Bangor, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, Bangor, PA. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East Bangor United Methodist Church, 136 W. Central Ave., East Bangor, PA 18013.

Clair Rutt

Clair "Chubby" Rutt, 77, of Palmer Township, passed away peacefully Friday, January 22, 2010 in Gracedale. Born: Chubby was born August 27, 1932 in Easton, a son of the late Garfield and Elizabeth Pysher Rutt. Personal: He was the proprietor of the Chubby's Stores in Easton for decades, and also worked for Ingersoll-Rand in Phillipsburg before retiring in 2000. He was a graduate of Easton High School class of 1951. Memberships: Chubby was a life member of the FLEAS Club in Easton. Survivors: He is survived by his wife the former Nancy Ciccarelli with whom he celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on October 7, 2009. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons David of San Diego, CA; Barry and his wife Denise of Palmer Township; a daughter Vicky Behn and her husband David of Palmer Township; sisters, Vivian Richetta and Velda Noto, both of Wilson Borough; grandchildren Sara and Katy Behn, Chad Sportelli, Cory and Tyler Rutt. A brother Richard Rutt preceded him in death. Services: Calling hours will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m. in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street (Palmer Township) Easton. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Township. Albert Trilli

Albert Trilli, 85, of Bangor passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2010 in Easton Hospital, Easton, PA. Born: He was a son of the late Joseph and Angeline Trilli. Personal: His beloved wife, the former Doris Rutt, died in 2006. Albert owned and operated numerous garment factories in the Slate Belt area for many years. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and enjoyed social activities with his family and the Senior Citizen Center. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp during World War II. Memberships: He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bangor. He was a former member of the Bangor Elks # 1106. Survivors: a son, Randy and his companion Richard Solga of Schnecksville; a sister, Carmel DeRenzis of fountain Hill; and his companion Donna Paraschos of Bangor. A son, Joseph and brothers, Paul and Anthony, and sisters, Millie Baggest, Anna Cortez, Martha Giaquinto, Regatta Duvo and Rose D'Imperio, all died earlier. Services: Services will be Thursday, September 23 at 11 a.m. in the Fiore Funeral Home, 230 Market Street, Bangor, with Rev. Franklin Stinner officiating. Call on Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home. Military Burial services will be in St. John's Cemetery, Bangor. Memorials: Donations may be given to American Cancer Society, Lehigh Valley Unit, 3893 Adler Place, Bethlehem, PA 18017.

Grace M. Turtzo

Grace M. Turtzo, 91, of Bangor, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010 in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem, PA. Born: December 23, 1918 in Roseto, PA, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Celesta LaPenna Zito. Personal: Her beloved husband Joseph D. Turtzo died in 1973. Grace had worked in the garment industry in the Slate Belt Area as a seamstress for many years. Memberships: She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Bangor, where she was a former member of the Ladies Sodality and church choir. Survivors: She is survived by a son, Daniel J. Turtzo of Bangor; a granddaughter, Jamie Turtzo of Baltimore, MD. A brother Daniel and sisters Marge Cerino and Antoinette Zito all died earlier. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 4 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 436 South Second St., Bangor. Call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Fiore Funeral Home, 230 Market St., Bangor. Burial will be in the New Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Roseto, PA.

Hilda C. Hoch

Hilda C. Hoch, 86, formerly of Belfast, PA passed away peacefully Monday, August 2, 2010 at Old Orchard Health Care Center, Bethlehem Township, where she had resided the last 2 years. Born: August 16, 1923 in Belfast, she was a daughter of the late Elwood E. and Sarah C. Hinkel Colver. Personal: Her husband Charles passed away in 1990. Hilda was a graduate of Nazareth High School, Class of 1940. She was employed by the former Dixie Cup, now James River Corp., where she worked as a secretary until her retirement in 1988. Memberships: Hilda was a faithful member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, in Belfast, where she had also served as a past treasurer. Survivors: Her only child, son, Robert Hoch and his wife Nancy of Pen Argyl; one brother, Elwood Colver and his wife Anna of Plainfield Township; two sisters, Geraldine Slavish of Nazareth and Lela Meckler and her husband John of Belfast; two grandchildren, Haley Hoch of Pen Argyl and Casey Hoch and his wife Jennifer of Macungie; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister Fern Rutt. Services: Will be held, Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Luke's United Church of Christ, 471 Belfast Road, Nazareth (Belfast), PA. Relatives and friends are invited to call 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow at Belfast Union Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Schmidt Funeral Home, P.C., 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. Louann "Ludy" Giunta

Louann "Ludy" Giunta, 77, of Palmer Township, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010 in St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem. Born: November 19, 1933 in Phillipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Francis Henry Callery and Margaret Quick Firth. Personal: Ludy and her husband, Eugene "Gino" Giunta Jr., celebrated 52 years of marriage on September 14. She was employed as an operator for Bell Telephone Co. for many years. Ludy was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School class of 1952. Memberships: Ludy was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Easton. She also was an affiliate of the Angelic Sisters of St. Paul and a member of the Phillipsburg High School class of 52 reunion committee. Survivors: In addition to her husband; two sons, Christopher Giunta of Brooklyn, and Eugene Giunta III of Melrose, MA; and two step-brothers Ralph and Robert Firth, both of Phillipsburg. Two brothers, William and Richard Callery, preceded Ludy in death. Services: Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th and Lehigh Streets, Easton followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the church. Entombment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery Mausoleum, Williams Township. Arrangements are under the direction of Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St., Easton (Palmer Township). Patricia A. Sigafoos

Patricia A. Sigafoos, 69, of Easton, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in VNA Hospice of Monroe County. Born: February 16, 1941, in Wilson Borough, she was a daughter of the late Charles F. Sr. and Elizabeth Shay VanDyke. Personal: Her husband, David A. Sigafoos, Sr., died July 16, 1998. Pat was last employed by Harmony Press. Previously she worked for Susan's Catering and Club Mohican. She was of the Lutheran faith. Memberships: Pat was a member of Club Mohican, Concordia Maennerchor, Palmer Volunteer Fire Company #2 of Wilson Borough, Avona Volunteer Fire Company, Safety First Volunteer Fire Co. and Franklin Hose Company #2. Survivors: two sons, David A. Jr. and his wife Kathryn, of Mt. Pocono and Daniel A. and his wife Joanne, of Bethlehem; a daughter, Laura A. Bryfogle and her husband Roy, of Palmer Township; two brothers, Charles VanDyke, Jr., of Mt. Bethel and Edward VanDyke, of Easton; a sister, Ann Ahner, of Lehighton; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brooke Alisyn Bryfogle and a sister, Arlene Rutt. Services: 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton St., Wilson Borough. Call Thursday 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine. Memorials: may be made to Camelot For Children, 2354 W. Frances M. Soloe

Frances M. Soloe, 89, of Palmer Township, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010, at ManorCare in Palmer Township. Born: June 28, 1920 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Nellie Radzavich. Personal: Frances retired from Straup's Pharmacy, formerly in Easton, as an assistant to the pharmacist. Her husband, Alex Soloe, died in 1978. Survivors: She is survived by her children, Patricia A. Berger of Palmer Township, John Soloe of Martin's Creek, and Thomas Soloe of Nazareth; a sister Katherine Zemba of Paterson, NJ; and grandchildren, Christopher Berger, John Soloe Jr., Steven Soloe and Alex Soloe. She was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters. Services: Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Finegan Funeral Home, 1837 Washington Blvd., Easton. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private.

Donald C. Drake Sr.

Donald C. Drake, Sr., 76, of Williams Township, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at his home. Born: June 8, 1934, in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was a son of the late George A. and Elsie Poff Drake. Personal: He and his wife, the former Carolyn L. Canfield, celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on January 23, 2010. Don retired from Riegel Paper Plant, Finesville, NJ. Previously, he worked for the former Sanco Piece Dye Works, Phillipsburg, NJ, where he was head of the union. He served in the Navy. Don loved woodworking, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren. Memberships: He attended Christ Evangelical Congregational Church. Survivors: three sons, Donald Jr. and his companion Lydia, of Boston, Mark and his wife Denise, of Williams Township and Jeffrey and his wife Donna, of Phillipsburg; a daughter, Carlee Stackhouse and her husband James, with whom they resided; three sisters, Gloria Moyle and Shirley Rose, both of Phillipsburg and Nancy Nemeth, of Nazareth; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Four brothers, George Jr., John, William and Harold and two sisters, Katherine Tucker and Ruth Hess, died earlier. Services: Private arrangements are under the direction of the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Easton. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the , 65 E. Yolanda M. Mannino

Yolanda M. Mannino, 88, of Forks Twp. died on February, 17, 2011 at Easton Hospital. Born: On January 30, 1923 in Asbury, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Domenick Santini and Fermina Tenaglia Santini. Personal: She was the wife of the late John Mannino who died in 1985. She was a sewing machine operator at Rosemarie Fashions in Tatamy, PA. Memberships: She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Easton. Personal: She is survived by her children, John A. Mannino of Forks Twp., Elvera Smith of Stewartsville, NJ and Sandra Yonker of Scottsdale, AZ; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by brothers and sisters, Etolo Santini, Samuel Santini, Frank Santini and Edith Pettinelli. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th and Lehigh Sts., Easton, PA. Interment will follow in St. Philip & St. James Cemetery, Greenwich Twp. There will be no calling hours. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church. The Finegan Funeral Home, Easton, PA, has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Catherine H. Long

Catherine H. Long, 88, of Bethlehem passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. Born: In Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Kenny Hession. Personal: Her husband, the late Robert M. Long, died in 1963. Catherine was a veteran of the U.S. Army. She and her husband met while serving in Yokohama, Japan during WW II where she served as an Army Nurse. She had held positions as a Nurse for the NYC Health Department and as a clerk for the Unemployment Office in Allentown. She was a graduate of Mary Immaculate Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn, class of 1943. Memberships: She was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, Bethlehem. Survivors: Catherine was the loving mother of five sons; Robert, Michael, Stephen, Joseph and Thomas; two daughters, Maureen and Kathleen. She will also be lovingly remembered by five sisters, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents she is predeceased by two sisters and a brother. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February. 22, 2011 in Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasaqua Rd., Bethlehem. Friends may call at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday. Interment will follow the Mass at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
