Joseph J. Roccaro 79, formerly of Williams Township passed away August 11, 2004 in Slate Belt Nursing and Rehab Center in Bangor
Born: April 21, 1925 in Easton, PA a son to the late Giovanni and Anna Sanfilipo Roccaro
Personal: He and his wife the former Mary Olive Gerbino celebrated their 57thwedding anniversary this past April. He graduated from Easton High School class of 1942, He also attended classes at East Stroudsburg University and Lafayette College. He served in the Army as a Medic during World War II Stationed in the Philippines.
He was a barber and owner of Joe Roccaro Barber Stylist on Morgan Hill Road in Williams Township retiring in 2002.
Memberships: He was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Easton and the Holy Name Society of the Church, he also belonged to the local Barbers Union
Survivors: his wife Mary Olive, a son Joseph Jr. and his wife Denise of West Point New York; a daughter Rosanne Poliskiewicz and her husband James of Upper Mount Bethel PA; 4 Grandchildren Joshua and Amy Kuper, and Jimmy and Victoria Poliskiewicz; 3 sisters Jean, Mary and Charlotte Roccaro of Palmer Township, Brother Thomas Roccaro of Portland Oregon. 2 sisters and a brother Josephine Ottaviano , Ida Phillips and Charles Roccaro preceded him in death.
Services: Saturday 9:15am in the Morello Funeral Home 3720 Nicholas Street in Palmer followed by a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 9th & Lehigh Streets in Easton. Call Friday 7:00pm to 9:00pm and Saturday from 8:30am until time of services in the funeral home.
Interment : Saint Anthony's Cemetery in Williams Township

James Patti
James Patti, 87, of Easton, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2004 at the New Eastwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wilson Borough.
Born: He was born February 9, 1917 in Portland, PA a son of the late Felix and Angelina Campana Patti.
Personal: Mr. Patti is survived by his wife the former Lucy M. Pelonero with whom he celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on July, 8th.
He was a retired truck driver having worked for the former Easton Motor Freight Co. and later retiring from North Penn Trucking of Easton in 1978.
He enjoyed woodworking and watching various sports.
Memberships: James was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 9th & Lehigh St. in Easton. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union of Central PA.
Survivors: In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters; Carol Sagazio and her husband Alfred of Palmer, Twp., Sandra Sundstrom and her husband David of Harmony, NJ, Jackie Klaver and her husband Steven of Wilson Borough, a sister Josephine Lommason of Phillipsburg, NJ, a brother Anthony Patti of Rochelle Park, NJ, grandchildren; Alfred, James and Peter Sagazio, Elissa Manlove, Amy and Christina Sundstrom, Robert & Keith Kutz; Great-grandchildren; James and Stephen Sagazio, Jordan and Faith Manlove, Kaylene and Zachary Kutz, and Kyle Rittenhouse.
He is preceded in death by his sisters Jennie Losaw and Mildred Buzzard and a brother Steve Patti.
Services: Monday, 9:15 am in the Morello Funeral Home 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer, PA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 9th & Lehigh St. in Easton. Call Monday 8:15 am- 9:15 am in the funeral home. Interment St. Anthony's Cemetery Williams Twp.

Earl H. Saylor
Earl H. Saylor, 80, of Easton, passed away Wednesday November 24, 2004 in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill.
Born: August 27, 1924 in Easton, he was the son of the late Preston and Elma Frankenfield Saylor.
Personal: Earl is preceded in death by his wife the former Marie M. Collins in January of 2003. Along with his wife Earl was co-proprietor of Saylor's Farm and roadside Produce of Plainfield Township, retiring in 2000.
Memberships: Earl was of the Lutheran Faith and served in World War II as an aviation machinist mate.
Survivors: He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey A. Saylor of Nazareth and Donald E. Saylor of Pen Argyl, PA; two daughters, Patricia L. Ladanye of Albany, NY and Jackie L. Saylor of Allentown, PA; four grandchildren; Micheal H. and Jason A. Ladanye; Kayle A. and Jennie Saylor; two great-grandchildren, Dawn and Heather Ladanye. Two sisters, Arlene Krueger and Evelyn Haas both of Center Valley. He is predeceased by a sister, Gladys Gruppo and three brothers, John, George and Ray Saylor.
Services: Monday, 8:30pm in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc. 3720 Nicholas St., Palmer, PA. Call 7:00pm until 9:00pm Monday Interment will be private.
Memorials: May be made to Hospice VNA or St. Luke's, 709 Delaware Ave., Bethlehem, PA 18015 or American Lung Association, 2121 City Line Rd, Bethlehem, PA 18017.

Robert A. Crowell
Robert A. Crowell, 89 of Easton, passed away Tuesday February 8, 2005 in Easton Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born: August 31, 1915 in Easton he was the son of the late George and Edith Navarre Crowell.
Personal: Robert and his wife the former Anna V. Borowski celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on April 19, 2004. He was employed as an oil pump operator at Taylor Wharton retiring in 1978 and also a registered master plumber working in the Easton area for many years. Robert served in the US Navy as a SeaBee during WWII in the 105th NCB as a ship fitter where he participated in the invasion of the Philippines. He was a graduate of Easton High School class of 1934.
Memberships: Robert was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, 1100 Ferry St in Easton. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1290, Navy SeaBee Veterans of America and US Navy Memorial Foundation.
Survivors: In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Lorraine A. and Constance E. Crowell both living at home. Two sisters, Dorothy Bitler and Mildred Jaeger and a brother, George J. Crowell preceded Robert in death.
Services: Saturday, 11:00am in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc. 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer, PA. Call Friday, 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery in Palmer, Twp.
Memorials: May be made to the US Navy Memorial Foundation, 701 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Suite 123, Washington, DC 20004-2608.

Emily R. Bartolacci
Emily Rose Bartolacci 78, of Easton, PA and Fort Lauderdale, Florida died Wednesday February 4, 2004 in Buenos Aires, Argentina
Born: March 21, 1925 in Easton, PA, a daughter of the late Antonio and Ines Zingarelli Borgioni
Personal: Emily and her husband Raymond A. Bartolacci Sr. celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on August 11th 2003.
She was a graduate of Easton High School Class of 1943.
Memberships: She was a member of Saint Anthony's Catholic Church in Easton
Survivors: her husband Raymond Sr.; two sons Raymond A. Jr. and his wife Maribeth of Easton; Richard and his wife Julene of Easton; a daughter Rhonda of Tampa, Florida; five Grandchildren Ranee', Raymond III, Tiffany, Raylene and Renessa.
A brother Joseph Borgioni preceded her in death.
Services: Thursday 9:15am in the Morello Funeral Home 3720 Nicholas Street in Palmer. Followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 9th & Lehigh Streets in Easton. Call Wednesday afternoon from 2-4 pm and also Wednesday evening from 6-9pm in the Morello Funeral Home 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp. PA.
Interment: Entombment will be in Saint Anthony's Mausoleum at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Williams Township

Norma M. Hess
Norma M. Hess, 83 of Palmer Township died May 12, 2004, in Manor Care of Palmer.
Born: May 25, 1920 in Akron, Ohio a daughter to the late Arthur and Marie Lehman Dean.
Personal: She was preceded in death by her husband George T. Hess Jr. who died in 2002.
Memberships: She was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 9th and Lehigh Streets Easton where she was a member of the choir several years ago.
Survivors: a Daughter Celeste Hess of Palmer Township, a sister Violet Forhan of Jacksonville, NC
Services: Mrs. Hess will be cremated under the direction of the Morello Funeral Home 3720 Nicholas Street Palmer , PA

Willard F. Baker
Willard F. Baker, 72 of Palmer Twp. passed away Saturday, August 21, 2004 in Easton Hospital.
Born: He was born July 23rd, 1932 in Allentown, PA a son of the late Josiah W. 'Jack' and Lillian Burgess Baker.
Personal: He is preceded in death by his wife the former Dolores M. Gabrielli who died on Jan. 15th 2003. Mr. Baker was a self employed CPA practicing from his office in Wilson Borough. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Easton High School Class of 1950 and a Sumna Cum Laude graduate of Duke University Class of 1957.
Memberships: He was a member of the American Contract Bridge League where he was a life master since 1976.
Survivors: He is survived by a son Willard L. and his wife Tracy Baker of Palmer Twp.; daughters Carol L. and her husband Thomas Grube of Palmer Twp., Billie L. and her husband Jeff Weiss of Forks Twp.; a brother Daniel Baker of Macungie; seven grandchildren and two step grandchildren. A daughter Judith Ann died in infancy.
Services and interment: Will be private under the direction of the Morello Funeral Home 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer PA.
Memorials: In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family for charitable redistribution C/O Carol Grube 6 Southwood Dr. Easton, PA 18045.

Dr. Manuel H. Espinosa
Dr. Manuel H. Espinosa, of Palmer, PA passed away Sunday October 17, 2004 in Easton Hospital.
Officials at Easton Hospital announced today that they will be renaming the oncology unit in memory of Dr. Espinosa "The Dr. Manuel H. Espinosa Oncology Unit".
Born: He was born August 13, 1940 in Masbate, Philippines, a son of the late Jose Z. and Exaltacion H. Espinosa and his late parents who raised him Juan Z., Sr. and Pilar H. de Vera.
Personal: Dr. Espinosa retired in 1999 from active practice and as the Medical Director of the Surgical Oncology Program at Easton Hospital. In 1992, 1993, and 1998, he was awarded the Research of the Year Award for his contributions to colon cancer research. Dr. Espinosa founded the Division of Surgical Oncology at Easton Hospital in 1983, the Oncology Unit in 1987 and Oncology Service Line in 1997. He also was Director of Tumor Registry, Director of the Oncology Unit, and Director of The Breast Care Center at Easton Hospital. Dr. Espinosa composed and presented numerous scientific papers, 18 of which were published. He was one of only 14 surgeons selected by the American College of Surgeons as an instructor of Stereotactic Breast Biopsy. Dr. Espinosa was Assistant Professor of Surgery at Hahnemann Medical College. He obtained his medical degree from Far Eastern University College of Medicine in Manila, Philippines in 1965. Dr. Espinosa completed his internship at Easton Hospital in 1966. He attended graduate school at the Division of General Surgery, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA in 1969. Dr. Espinosa completed a general surgery residency at Easton Hospital in 1972. He furthered his training with an Oncologic Surgical Residency and Fellowship from 1972 until 1975 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Cornell Medical Center, Cornell University, College of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Espinosa was a staff physician at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ and St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, PA. He was appointed as a field liaison for the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Espinosa remembered his roots often by returning to his impoverished hometown where he provided medical missionary work at the Masbate Provincial Hospital in the Philippines.
Memberships: Dr. Espinosa was affiliated with numerous professional society memberships. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of The American Cancer Society in both Northampton & Lehigh County Units. He was a member of the applicant committee of the Eastern PA Chapter of American College of Surgeons and was a member of American College of Surgeons. He was a Fellow of the American Society of General Surgeons, International College of Surgeons, and The American Society of Abdominal Surgeons. He was a member of The Society of Surgical Oncology, The American Society of Breast Surgeons, The Society of Head and Neck Surgeons, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Also, the New York Head and Neck Society, New York Metropolitan Breast Cancer Group, Inc., and The Pennsylvania Oncologic Society. Furthermore, he was a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Alumni Society, the Society of Philippine Surgeons in America and a member of the Association for Surgical Education.
He was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Palmer, PA.
Survivors: His wife, Rosalinda G. Espinosa of Easton; two sons, Emmanuel G. Espinosa of Allentown and Manuel G. Espinosa II of Easton; and a daughter, Emma Lynn E. Collina and husband, Steven J. Collina, M.D., and two grandchildren, Elise E. and Chad E. Collina of Aston, PA. His brothers, Jose H. de Vera, M.D. of Arizona, Jesus H. de Vera, Esq., Juan H. de Vera and his sister, Anita H. Porciuncola, all of the Philippines. Also surviving are brothers, Gregorio H. Espinosa, Filomeno R. Espinosa and his sister, Lilly E. Serrano, all of the Philippines.
Services: Thursday 9:30 am in the Morello Funeral Home 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer, PA followed By a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Janes Church 4049 Hartley Ave. Palmer, PA 18045. Calling hours, Wednesday 1:00pm - 3:00 pm and also 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Entombment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine's Mausoleum.

Marie L. Snow
Marie L. Snow, 93, of Easton, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2004 in her home.
Born: May 31, 1911 in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Maude Starner Mauch.
Personal: Marie was employed as a telephone operator and instructor for the former Bell Telephone Company until 1947. She later was employed by Northampton County Government Center as a domestic.
Survivors: a son, Barry R. Gruber and his wife Linda of Easton; a daughter Toni Marie Wilson and her husband Tim of Palmer, Twp.; three grandchildren, Barry, Ernie and Brian and one great grandchild, Adriana. A son, Joseph Gruber and four sisters preceded Marie in death.
Services: Monday, 10:00 a.m. in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer, PA. Call Sunday, 6pm until 8pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Easton Cemetery.
