Hazel I. Minotti
(Died February 1, 2013)
Hazel I. Minotti, 64, of Easton, PA, went into God's loving arms, surrounded by her family, on Friday, February 1, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born: Hazel was born on December 23, 1948 in Easton, PA, the daughter of the late Albert and Winifred Whittaker.
Personal: Hazel and her husband, Steven celebrated 38 years of marriage last May 2012 and was of the Christian faith. She was a graduate of Easton High School, class of 1966, where she served on the Reunion Committee. She was a dedicated nurse for Easton Hospital OB/GYN-Labor/Delivery for 18 years, and various other OB/GYN offices in Easton. She helped bring many babies into the world and loved getting to know her patients and their families. Hazel was an avid baker and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was especially fond of her granddaughter and cherished the moments they spent together. She was a fan of 50's Rock and Roll and loved to dance. Her loving smile and warm heart will be missed by all.
Survivors: In addition to her husband, Hazel is survived by a son Brian M. Minotti and wife Courtney of Bethlehem; daughter Stephanie L. Minotti of Easton; and a grandchild Ella M. Minotti. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother Raymond Fenical.
Services: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and also Wednesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.
Memorial Contributions: In lieu of flowers contributions in Hazel’s memory may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Center, 200 Trenton Rd. Browns Mills, NJ 08015 or to the American Cancer Society, Lehigh Valley Unit, 3893 Adler Place, Bethlehem, PA 18017.

Edward F. Stokes
(Died January 19, 2013)
Edward F. Stokes, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 19, 2013. He was a long time resident of the Easton area.
Born: Edward was born on March 1, 1921, in Brooklyn, NY, where he also met his wife Mary and married on June 12, 1943. They moved to Staten Island to raise their family before moving to Easton in 1969. He was the son of the late George and Mary Stokes. Edward was an active member in the Easton Community, a member of St. Jane Francis de Chantal Catholic Church, Easton. Edward served during WWII in the US Coast Guard and was an active member of VFW Post 248 in Staten Island, NY for many years rising to the position of Post County Commander. He spent his retirement days at Country Meadows Senior Living Community in Bethlehem with his wife Mary and last year moved in with his son and daughter-in-law in NJ.
Career: Edward began his career selling fruit on the streets of Brooklyn, NY using a Push Cart in the 1930s to help support his mother. He continued his career as Plant Manager for Delta Brush in New York City and Operations Manager for Binney & Smith/Crayola, and then Deal Products in Easton, PA. He completed his career as Operations Manager for Molded Acoustical Products in Easton before retiring.
Survivors: Edward loved his family and is survived by his sister Theresa of Brooklyn, NY; his son and his wife, George E. & Lovoice Stokes of New Jersey; his daughter Debra Jean Stokes of Easton; his son-in-law Angelo DiBiagio; grandchildren Tina Lippincott & her husband Terry; Angelo DiBiagio, Jr. & his wife Lisa; John R. DiBiagio, Christa M. Wolski & her husband Leonard, Georgette E. Macrina & her husband Giovanni; Christopher McCormick & Matthew McCormick. Additionally, Edward was blessed to share his love with his great-grandchildren Tori & TJ Lippincott; Angelo & Giovanni DiBiagio; Dylan Elizabeth Wolski; Luke & Isabella Macrina; and Hope McCormick. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary and daughter Carol Ann DiBiagio.
Services: Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday morning from 8:00am until 10:00am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton PA (Palmer Twp.). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:30am in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Easton, PA. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp.
Memorial Contributions: Memorial Contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.JDRF.org.

Severino "Sonny" Castellano
(Died January 17, 2013)
Severino “Sonny” Robert Castellano, 82 of Allentown passed away Thursday January 17, 2013 in his home.
Born: He was born in 1930 in Easton a son of the late Severino and Carmela Castellano.
Personal: Sonny was a born musician and an electrician for IBEW local 367 until his retirement in 1992. He was a graduate of Wilson High School class of 1949 and was an inductee of The Wilson High School Football Hall of Fame. Sonny proudly served our country in the US Marines during the Korean War.
Survivors: Sonny is survived by his companion Patricia “Pattie" Elias of Easton; sons Rory Castellano of Florida, Kerry Castellano of Virginia; daughters Kris Emery of Hewitt, NJ, Kelly Linton of McKinney, TX, Sunny Nunan and husband Ben of Dallas, TX; a sister Jean Kelly of Easton and grandchildren Christian, Marci, Rory, Bryn, Gage, Layne, Haley, Sydney, Tyler, Kip, Scout and Kaleigh.
Services: Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 9:30am until 11:00am in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00am in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery, Easton.

Antoinette Bianco
(Died February 1, 2013)
Antoinette Bianco, 99, of Easton, PA, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013 in Gracedale Nursing Home.
Born: Antoinette was born in Easton, PA, a daughter of the late Anthony and Nettie Cuvo.
Personal: Antoinette was married to the late Thomas Bianco before his passing in 1984. She worked at Seamproofe Ladies Underwear factory, Strongwear Pants factory and Joseph’s Jewelers, all formerly of Easton.
Memberships: Antoinette was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, formerly St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, South Side Senior Citizen’s Center, and Golden Age Society.
Survivors: Antoinette is survived by a son Carmen Bianco and wife Maryann of Whitehall, PA; a daughter Marianne Hess and husband Thomas of Easton, PA; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by brothers Joseph Cuvo, Anthony “Charlie” Cuvo; and Russell Cuvo.
Services: A calling hour will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Mercy Church (formerly St. Joseph’s) 129 Davis Street, Easton, PA. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, William’s Twp.
Memorial Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions in Antoinette’s memory may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Church, 132 South 5th Street, Easton, PA 18042.

Salvatore LaRosa
(Died February 20, 2013)
Salvatore J. LaRosa, 84 of Palmer Twp. passed away Wednesday February 20, 2013 in his home.
Born: He was born on January 12, 1929 in Easton a son of the late Samuel and Lena LaRosa.
Personal: Salvatore was preceded in death by his wife Marie in 2008. He was employed as the director of tax billing and later as an assessor for the County of Northampton. Most recently, Salvatore served as the director of Public Property for the City of Easton under the Panto Administration, retiring in 1992. He served in the US Navy during WWII on board the USS Rupertus. He was a graduate of Easton High School class of 1946.
Memberships: Salvatore was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Easton where he was a member of the Holy Cross Society and the Holy Name Society. He also was a lifetime member of the FLEAS Club and Order Sons of Italy in America.
Survivors: Salvatore is survived by his son Samuel J. LaRosa of Easton; daughters Ann Marie Farina and husband Robin of Palmer Twp., Rosemary Luby and husband Walter of Easton; a sister Marie Pologruto of Bethlehem, Twp; grandchildren Tara Grillo and husband Frank, Jenna Lamas and husband Shane, Matthew Farina, Michael LaRosa, Rachael LaRosa, Gina Luby, Patrick Luby and great grandchildren Jacob Grillo, Tyler Grillo, Cooper Lamas and Sawyer Lamas.
Services: Calling hours will be held on Friday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and Saturday from 11:15am until 12:15pm in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 1:00pm in the church, 9th and Lehigh Streets in Easton. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Easton.
Memorial Contributions: Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 1227 W. Liberty, St. Allentown, PA 18102 in memory of Salvatore.

Frank Anthony LaValva
(Died January 3, 2013)
Frank Anthony LaValva, 76, of Easton, PA, departed this life to join his parents, sister and brother in Heaven on January 3, 2013. He passed in the loving presence of his immediate family at Easton Hospital.
Born: Frank was born in Easton, PA, eldest son of the late Anthony and Sadie (LaGanga) LaValva.
Personal: Frank attended Wolf Jr. High School, and Easton High School, where he graduated with the Class of 1954. He went on to receive his BS in Education from East Stroudsburg State College, graduating in the Class of 1959. From 1959 - 1961, he served his country while stationed in Germany as a Specialist 4 (SP-4) in the US Army. He later returned to East Stroudsburg State College to further advance his knowledge of Health & Physical Education, receiving his Master’s Degree in 1969.
Frank and his wife, the former Vivien Fioretti were joined in marriage on July 21, 1962 and celebrated 50 years together in the summer of 2012. A teacher in the Easton Area School District for 38 years, Frank began his career as a Physical Education teacher, and continued in Driver’s Education, eventually retiring in 1993. Tireless in retirement, he faithfully served Northampton County as a Court Security Officer for over 18 years after departing the school district.
The great love of Frank’s life was his family. He was an enthusiastic attendee and devoted fan at the activities and sporting events of both children and later, his three grandsons. He was a passionate fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants. He loved the excitement and camaraderie he shared among the friends and family with whom he attended those special games. He was an avid golfer and truly enjoyed his time on the course with his son, his grandsons and his long time buddies.
Memberships: Frank was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, the Holy Cross Society, Citizens Hose, SERRA Club, and Easton Area Schoolman’s Association, where he was named Schoolman of the Year in 1974. He served as President of St. Anthony’s Youth Center for several years. He was a former member of NEA, PSEA and EAEA.
Survivors: Frank is survived by his wife, Vivien, son Michael LaValva and wife Maria of Palmer Twp.; daughter Lori Williams and husband Robert of Palmer Twp.; brothers-in-law Fred Bucci of Delaware, David Fioretti and companion Beverly Wagner of Easton; grandchildren Antonio James LaValva, John Robert Williams, Ryan Michael Williams; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He is preceded on his journey to God by sister Nicholetta Bucci and brother Charles LaValva.
Services: Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and also Tuesday from 8:45 am to 9:45 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 am in St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 9th & Lehigh Streets, Easton, PA. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp.

Olindo A. DiTalia
Olindo A. DiTalia, 95, of Walnutport, PA, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 in Whitehall Manor.
Born: He was born in Wyomissing, PA, a son of the late Luigi and Cecelia (DeRose) DiTalia.
Personal: Olindo worked for General Motors for 13 years. He proudly served in the Army during World War II.
Memberships: He was a member of the Catholic faith.
Survivors: Olindo is survived by a sister Gloria Martino of Roseto, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sisters Rose, Mary; brothers Pasqual, Frank, Louis, Alfred, and Herman.
Services: Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). Interment will be private.

Russell Mountjoy
July 2, 1941 - March 5, 2014
Russell Mountjoy, 72, of Bethlehem Twp., PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in his home.
Born: Russell was born in Kingston, PA, a son of the late Charles and Lulu (Leonard) Mountjoy.
Personal: Russell was married to the former Barbara Faye Heacock with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this October. He was a regional manager for automotive service centers for K-Mart, and later worked part-time for the City of Easton in the recycling center. He retired from the US Navy after serving 20 years.
Survivors: In addition to his wife, Russell is survived by daughters Robyn Lee Mountjoy and husband Thomas Bartholomew of Easton, Renee Lynn Schwartz and husband Chris of Farmington, NJ, son; Russell Mountjoy, Jr.; sisters Lois Joyce, Ruth Wilkinson; brothers John and Ed Mountjoy; grandchildren Rynn, Randy, TJ, and Katelyn. He is preceded in death by a sister Jean Nestor and a brother Charles Mountjoy.
Services: Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and also Monday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.), followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.

Harlan S. French
May 12, 1920 - March 6, 2014
Harlan Holly S. French, 93, of Palmer Twp., passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014 in Country Meadows Retirement Community.
Born: Harlan was born in Easton, PA, son of the late Elizabeth (Phillips) French and Harold French, Sr.
Personal: Harlan was married to the former Anne Azzalina. He was an Electrical Engineer for American Can Company of Forks Twp. He loved to travel, and in his youth enjoyed being a recreational pilot. Harlans favorite hobby in his later years was Genealogy. He was named in the Pennsylvania Ski and Winter Sports Museum Hall of Fame on May 18, 2002.
Memberships: Harlan was the head of the ski patrol at Big Boulder Jack Frost Ski Resorts for many years, and a member of the local Lehigh Valley Amateur Radio Operators Club.
Survivors: In addition to his wife, Harlan is survived by many generations of loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a sister Alice Ruch; brothers Harold French Jr., Hilliard D. French Sr.; nephews Hilliard D. French Jr., Eugene Brunstetter Jr., and Harlan S. Brunstetter.
Services: A calling hour will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp), followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.
