Pennsylvania Obituary and Marriage Records, 1947-2010

Helen Louise Peasley
A memorial service for Helen Louise Peasley will be held at Woolsrich United Methodist Church on Sunday, April 7 at 1 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Norman Evans her minister private burial will be at Highland Cemetery Lock Haven at the conveniance of the family.
Arrangements are being handled by the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home Lock Haven.

Viola T. Pawlak
Viola T. Pawlak, 88, formerly of Mosser Ave., Williamsport, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, in the Williamsport Home. Born Jan. 12, 1914, in Arnot, she was a daughter of Lewis and Mary Sherant Augustine.
She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Theresa Kistner of Jamesville, NY and Anna Poukish of South Williamsport; a son, John Pawlak of Montoursville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Andy Augustine; six sisters, Frances Richmond of Elmira, NY, Anne Cregan of Rochester, NY; Louise O'Dell of John's Island, SC, Theresa Tangredi of Delmar, NY, Bernice Augustine of Morris and Stella Konkle of Williamsport.
She was preceded in death her husband, Walter W. Pawlak, whom she married Nov. 14, 1936 and who died June 9, 1981 as well as three brothers and a sister.
A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 313 Arch St., with the Rev. Andrew J. Krusinski officiating. Burial will be held in Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Sanders. A Rosary Service will be held at 8 p.m.

Thomas W. Neupauer
Thomas W. Neupauer, 82, of Stafford, VA, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at Mary Washington Hospital.
He was born Sept. 22, 1919, in Williamsport, the son of the late Michael and Minnie Beaghley Neupauer.
He was retired as a civil engineer from the U.S. Geological Survey.
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, a graduate of Penn State, a member of American Legion Post 290 and served in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre during WWII.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille M. Neupauer of Stafford, VA; a sister, Annamary Hutchinson of South Williamsport and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 8, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Stafford, VA, with Pastor C. Richard Duncan officiating.
Memorials may go to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 1201 Courthouse Road, Stafford, VA, 22554 or to Mountain View Rescue Squad, 1268 Mountain View Road, Falmouth, VA 22405.
Arrangements are being handled by Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, VA.

James Taylor Smith
James Taylor Smith, 70, of Arrow Rock, MO, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at his home.
He was born April 5, 1931, in Lanesboro. On Nov. 21, 1962, he married Catherine "Kitty" Hogge, and she survives.
He was a graduate of Laurel Hill Academy, Susquehanna, and received a teaching certificate from Mansfield University.
Surviving are a son, James Timothy Smith of Kansas; a daughter, Lisa Sue Smith, at home and two sisters, Doris Allen of Mansfield and Joyce Wigley of Sunnyside, WA.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Arrow Rock Federated Church, Arrow Rock, MO. Burial will be in Arrow Rock Cemetery.
Friends may call 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at the Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home, Marshall, MO, where a Scottish Rite Service will be held at 8 p.m.
Memorials may go to Arrow Rock Federated Church, Arrow Rock Cemetery, or any Masonic organization.

Helen V. "Ginny" Martino
Helen V. Martino, 76, of Jersey Shore, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at her daughter's home after an extended illness. Born Feb. 15, 1926, in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of Foster and Dorothy Saiers McGhee.
Ginny was a 1944 graduate of Lock Haven High School. She was employed by Sylvania and married Francis P. Martino in 1945; he preceded her in death in 1971. She worked at Susquehanna Home Health from 1973-1997 as a home health aide.
She was active in her church and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her oldest son, John F. of Cogan Station, in 1998 as well as a brother and a sister.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Donna, of Cogan Station; two sons, William G. of Bloomsburg and Thomas P. of Montoursville; three daughters, Kathy Stopper of Williamsport, Ann Peer of Jersey Shore and Mary Ritchey of Bedford; a brother, John McGhee of Lock Haven and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, April 4, at 10 a.m. at Agape Fellowship, 485 E. Third St., Williamsport, with Pastor Mike Deal officiating. Prior to the service, there will be a viewing for friends and family at 9 a.m. at the rear of the church.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions be made to the Susquehanna Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., 4 South, Williamsport, PA 17701 or the Central PA Dialysis Foundation, PO Box 542, Williamsport, PA 17701.

Mary Klepper Gage
Mary Klepper Gage, Montoursville, died Sunday, March 31, 2002, at the Williamsport Home, after a brief illness. She was born Sept. 17, 1903, in Carlisle, a daughter of Jacob E. and Elsie B. Klepper.
She spent most of her childhood in Montoursville, where her father was the first superintendent of the public school system.
She married A. Norman Gage of Williamsport in 1926; he was the city editor of the Williamsport Gazette and Bulletin. They moved to Camp Hill, where he became the editor of the Harrisburg Telegraph.
During World War II, Mary worked at the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot. She did civil defense volunteer work as a telephonist at the Harrisburg control center. She also volunteered as a Gray Lady with the Red Cross and was pleased with her accomplishment of donating blood regularly during her lifetime. She also found time to be an officer in the Camp Hill PTA.
After her children were grown, Mary returned to college as a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh and received her degree from Lycoming College in 1962. She went on to teach special education in the Lycoming County school system from where she retired.
Mary enjoyed gardening and most of all, her books. She was a member of the Great Books Club and for years did volunteer work at the James V. Brown Library, where she was also on the Board. She was the first recipient of the Rose Harer Volunteer Award for outstanding volunteer service.
Mary has written recollections of her childhood which have been compiled in an unpublished folio. Some of these stores have been published in local publications.
Mrs. Gage is survived by her four children, two sons, Norman E. of Ridgefield, CT and Richard K. of Chapel Hill, NC; two daughters, Marilyn Amy Skallerup of Ormond Beach, FL and Elsie Balano of Kittery, ME; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a sister, Blanche Shafer.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6, at 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Broad St., Montoursville.
Memorials may be made to the Mary K. Gage Book Endowment Fund, James V. Brown Library.

Helen M. Donnell
Helen M. Donnell, 95, of Rockville, MD, formerly of Montoursville, died April 2, 2002. Born April 24, 1907, in Montoursville, she was a daughter of Abraham and Edna Swartz Houser.
Helen was the widow of J. Glen Donnell, who died May 31, 1964. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Kaiser.
There will be a graveside service Saturday, 9:30 a.m. at Montoursville Cemetery, with Rev. Roy D. Meyer officiating. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements by Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.

William E. Ulrich
William E. Ulrich, 70, of Turbotville, died April 3, 2002.
Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Miriam L. St.Clair Ulrich.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, Turbotville. Burial will follow in Washingtonville Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with a Lions Memorial Service at 8:45 p.m.

Alice M. Reaser
Alice M. Reaser, 73, of RR1 Allenwood, died late Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Her husband, Donald F. Reaser, died March 13, 1989, following 42 years of marriage.
She farmed with her husband at RR1 Allenwood most of her married life and had been a baker at the former Family Afare restaurant during the 1990s. Most recently, she had worked at Stepping Stones Assisted Living Home at Turbotville.
A member of Spring Garden Grange 32, she loved gardening and canning and enjoyed needlepoint and embroidery. She had attended rural school in Delaware Twp.
Mrs. Reaser was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Watsontown.
Born March 5, 1928, in Delaware Twp., Northumberland, Co., she was the daughter of Franklin and Katie Arbogast Bieber.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Terry R. and Marie F. Reaser of RR1 Allenwood, Jerry E. and Connie J. Reaser of Circle J Road, Allenwood; a daughter, Joyce E. Reaser, with whom she lived; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jerri Lee Reaser, who died in 1980 and two brothers, Preston (1969) and Charles (1993) Reaser.
The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the church, 602 Main St., Watsontown, with the Rev. Ed Henry, her pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Donald Jones of Watsontown Alliance Church. Burial will follow in Uniontown (Allenwood) Cemetery.
Friends may call at the William F. Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
The family suggests contributions in her memory be made to her church.

Doris B. Worthington
Doris B. Worthington, formerly of Williamsport, passed away Sun. Feb. 17th at a Nursing Facility after a long illness. She was predeceased by her husband Carl and survived by one daughter, Virginia Lutz, son in law Michael and 2 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters Mabel Bower & Margaret Mortimer. Friends and family may attend a graveside service at Twin Hills Memorial Chapel on Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. No visitation.

Robert R. Kitchen
Robert R. Kitchen, 84, of Valley View Nursing Center, died Feb. 25, 2002, at his residence.
Born Feb. 5, 1918, in Wellsboro, the son of Dieves and Lena Welch Kitchen. Mr. Kitchen was married to the former Betty M. Hutchison.
He was an Air Force B17 Bomber Pilot in WWII. He retired as Lt. Colonel in the Air Force Reserves and as an instructor from Fort Monmouth Signal School, NY. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Montoursville.
Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Gary S. Kitchen of Rockaway, NJ and two grandchildren, Marc and Michele.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 11 a.m. at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with his pastor, Rev. Paul C. Murphy officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park.
