MR. LA WALL WAS BORN IN HAVERTOWN, PA. HE ATTENDED HAVERFORD HIGH SCHOOL, GRADUATING IN 1948. IN 1952 HE GRADUATED WASHINGTON COLLEGE IN CHESTERTOWN, MARYLAND WITH A BA IN ECONOMICS.
MR LA WALL WAS A MEMBER OF THE ARMED FORCES, SERVING IN THE ARMY. HE WAS MARRIED TO HIS COLLEGE SWEETHEART. HE IS THE PROUD FATHER OF 3 C\HILDREN, DAVID OF BRYN MAWR, PA, STEVEN OF FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA AND ELIZABETH OF SWATHMORE, PA.
HE RETIRED FROM THE GRAPHIC ARTS BUSINESS IN 1999 WHERE HE WORKED FOR 50 YEARS IN TYPOGRAPHIC SERVICE. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE CHINA STAMP SOCIETY. HIS STAMPS WERE EXHIBITED ALL OVER THE WORLD. HE WAS ALSO A VERY ACTIVE MEMBER OF ST.GEORGE CHURCH. HE ENJOYED BOATING AND CAMPING.

CHARLES H. WOODLAND
Born in Philadelphia, Pa. on Jul. 14, 1924
Departed on Aug. 5, 2003 and resided in Wayne, PA.

Charles H. Woodland of Wayne, Pa. died August 5, 2003 in Bryn Mawr Hospital, Bryn Mawr, Pa. He was 79.
Born July 14, 1924 in Philadelphia to Martha (nee Heath) and Charles G. Woodland.
He graduated from Haverford High School and the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School
Mr. Woodland was a WW II veteran serving in the Army Air Force.
Professionally he was the Controller and CFO for Hercules in Delaware.
He enjoyed golf and spending time in Hollywood, Fl at his condo.
Mr. Woodland was thre husband of Dorothy Murphy Woodland and the lateJean (nee Hamilton) Woodland. He is also survived by his cousin Patricia Ventura.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday August 12, 2003 in the Wayne Presbyterian Church, 125 E. Lancaster Ave., Wayne, Pa. 19087. Interment is in Valley Forge Gardens, King of Prussia, Pa.

MARY DiPIETRO
Born in New York City, N.Y. on Dec. 19, 1922
Departed on Aug. 19, 2003 and resided in Ardmore, PA.

Mary (nee Chiparo)DiPietro of Ardmore, Pa. died August 19, 2003 in Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa.
She was born December 19, 1922 in New York City to Pasqua (nee Caltabilota) and Gaetano Chiparo. She lived in New York City until the age of 16, when she married John DiPietro and moved to Philadelphia.
In 1982 her husband John passed away and in 1986 she moved to Ardmore.
Mrs. DiPietro was a homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, decorating and shopping. She was a wonderful hostess.
She was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Havertown and a member of the St. Denis Senior Citizens.
Her viewing will be Saturday morning August 23, after 9:00 A.M. in the Funeral Home of John Stretch, E.Eagle Rd. & St. Denis Lane, Havertown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Saturday in St. Denis Church, Havertown. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Pa.

GERTRUDE JILLARD
Born in Philadelphia, Pa. on Aug. 13, 1917
Departed on Aug. 20, 2003 and resided in Havertown, PA.

Gertrude (nee Hubert) Jillard a homemaker of Havertown died Wednesday August 20, 2003 in Lankenau Hospital, Wynnewood, Pa.
Born August 13, 1917 in Philadelphia, Pa. to Leah Catherine (nee Reynolds) and David Jacob Hubert.
Mrs. Jillard is the wife of the late Leroy B. Jillard. She is survived by her children Joan Gabe, Barbara Primerano, Leroy E. Jillard, 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and her siblings, Lillian Spellman, Jean Ferrier, Evelyn Kerak, Floyd Hubert and Alice Love.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday August 23 in the Funeral Home of John Stretch, E. Eagle Rd. & St. Denis Lane, Havertown where family and friends may call after 11 A.M. Interment Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall.

Barbara A. Fanning
Born in Bryn Mawr, Pa. on Jul. 8, 1939
Departed on Aug. 22, 2003 and resided in Bryn Mawr, PA.

Mrs. Barbara A. (Nee Baitinger) Fanning of Bryn Mawr, Pa. passed away Friday August 22, 2003 at Bryn Mawr Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Fanning is the Wife of Francis J. "Mike" Fanning and the Mother of Michael J. (Rosemary) Fanning, Robert D. (Kim) Fanning, Daniel G. (Suzanne) Fanning, and Diane Byrne. Mrs. Fanning also had one Brother; the late John Baitlinger, Jr. She is survived however, by her 6 Grandchildren.
Barbara was a graduate of Lower Merion High School. She stayed very active in the school district throughout her life. Mrs. Fanning was very active in many school functions at Harriton High School and Welsh Valley Middle School.
Barbara Fanning was also an elected committeeperson for the Republican Party in the Bryn Mawr Ward. for 20 years. She also gave back to the community by serving as a director for the Bryn Mawr Civic Association for almost 20 years. Mrs. Fanning just as recent as three weeks ago had the "Tot Lot" located at the community center on Bryn Mawr Ave. named in her honor.
Mrs. Barbara Fanning was also employed by the American Title Insurance Co.in Bryn Mawr as a title clerk for 10 years.
Mrs. Fanning also enjoyed her role as wife, mother, and grandmother. She also was an avid reader.
The Fanning family would like to invite everyone to join with them for a continental breakfast Wednesday morning at 8 am in the Our Mother of Good Counsel Church Social Hall in Bryn Mawr. They are also invite to her viewing following at 9:30 am in the Church, that will be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11am.
In leiu of flowers the Fanning family would like to have memorial donations be made to the Lower Merion Township Scholarship Fund c/o Lower Merion High School 245 Montgomery Ave. Ardmore, Pa. 19003.

Marguerite R. Troisi
Born in Ardmore, Pa. on Aug. 25, 1922

Mrs. Marguerite R. (Nee Tate) passed away Monday, September 1, 2003 in Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, Pa. Mrs. Troisi is survived by her Husband of 61 Years; Louis Troisi. She is the loving Mother of Margaret M. Gausch, Louis P. (Elaine) Troisi, William A. (Jeanne) Troisi, Judith A. Troisi, Jean A. Troisi, and Joseph A. (Debra) Troisi. She was the Sister of Henry Tate and the late Anna DeCarlo, James Tate, Albert Tate, Alfred Tate, William Tate, and Nicholas Tate. Mrs. Troisi has 6 Grandchildren; Francine and Christopher Gausch, Jonathan, Benjamin, and Katelyn Troisi, and William Mariano, III.
Mrs. Troisi was a 1940 Graduate of West Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia.
Mrs. Troisi worked parttime in the cafeteria at St. Denis School, a job that allowed her time to participate in her children's lives. Being a homemaker and housewife was truly Mrs. Troisi's passion and love. She also worked parttime at the Ardmore Movie Theatre.
There will be a viewing held at the Funeral Home Thursday September 4, 2003 at 9:30 am-10:45 am. The Mass will follow at St. Denis Church at 11am.
The family would appreciate Mass Cards or a memorial donation be made in lieu of flowers to the Augustinian Seminary Guild 214 Ashwood Drive Villanova, Pa. 19085.

John M. Houlihan
Born in Bronx, New York on Apr. 13, 1937
Departed on Nov. 27, 2003 and resided in Havertown, PA.

Mr. John M. Houlihan passed away Thanksgiving Evening, November 27, 2003 at his home with his family. Mr. Houlihan battled his illness for 5 years, but it progressively got worse in the last 6 months prior to his death. John is the Husband of Virginia M. (Nee Coogan) Houlihan. He is tha Father of Virginia E. "Ginger" (Frank) Recknagel of Havertown, and Diane (Joe) Strecklis. He has three grandchildren; Kristen and Frank Recknagel, Jr., and William Strecklis. Mr. Houlihan also has two Brothers; Joseph P. and Timothy F. Houlihan.
Mr. Houlihan was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in the Bronx, after high school he entered the United States Navy and served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a very proud member of the United States Armed Forces. Mr. Houlihan was also a member of the Naval Reserves after his active duty. John, upon leaving the service, enrolled in courses at LaSalle University in Philadelphia. He completed those courses at home while juggling his work and family.
John was employed for 22 years at Haverford Township. He worked in the Codes Department for many years before being tranferred to the Highway Inspection Department.
Mr. Houlihan was a first generation Irish and greatly enjoyed collecting Irish memoribila. He was also a member of the "Friendly Sons of St. Patrick" and enjoyed their many banquets.
He also enjoyed fishing in recent years and spending time at the beach with his family.
There will be a viewing in the funeral home Wednesday at 9am to 10:30am and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. John Nuemann Church.
The family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society 1615 West Chester Pike Suite 101 West Chester, Pa. 19382.

Guerino J. Abbonizio
Born in Abbruzzese, Italia on Sep. 25, 1917
Departed on Nov. 30, 2003 and resided in Villanova, PA.

Mr. Guerino J. Abbonizio passed away Sunday November 30, 2003 at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Mr. Abbonizio is the Husband of Pauline (Nee DiFerdinando) Abbonizio. He is the Father of Marian (Jim) Daly of Havertown, Pa., Robert (Maura) Abbonizio of Doylestown, Pa., and the late Thomas N. Abbonizio of Virginia. Mr. Abbonizio had 6 siblings; all of whom predeaceased him. They were Thomas of Ardmore, Pa., Pierino of Berwyn, Pa. (Perry), Donato of Ardmore, Pa. (Danny), Americo of Ardmore, Pa. (Rick), Isoletta Ramondo of Broomall, Pa., and Philomena Carosella of South America. Mr. Abbonizio has 3 Grandchildren; T.J., Ryan, and Matthew Abbonizio.
Mr. Abbonizio, or Woody as he was known, came to America at the age of 17 on the feast day of St. Thomas (December 21, 1934).
Woody arrived in America and joined his Father, Nick and his brothers in starting a construction business, located on Haverford Rd. in Ardmore, Pa. named "N. Abbonizio and Sons". This business grew quickly into a large area contractor and existed for 45 years servicing the Philadelphia area. The entire Abbonizio family also owns and operates Sproul Lanes in Springfield, Pa., recent home of the PBA's Philadelphia Open Bowling Tournament.
Mr. Abboninzio was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Woody was a long time and active parishoner of St. Thomas of Villanova Parish in Rosemont, Pa. The funeral Mass will take place at the parish church located on the Villanova University Campus on Thursday, December 4, 2003 at 11 am.
There will be a viewing Wednesday evening, December 3, 2003 at the Funeral Home from 7 to 9 pm.
The Abbonizio family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary 741 Polo Road Bryn Mawr, Pa. 19010.
