Pennsylvania Obituary and Marriage Records, 1947-2010

Alphonsus Arculin
Alphonsus Arculin, 81, of Portsmouth, Va., died Dec. 31 in Virginia.
Prior to retiring, he had been employed at the Norfolk Navy Yard in Virginia.
Born in Tamaqua, he was a son of the late Anthony and Mary Arculin and graduated from Tamaqua High School in 1934.
He is survived by a son, Richard, in Virginia; two daughters, Janet Randall and Patricia Arculin, both in Virginia; three sisters, Florence and Isabel, both in New York, and Gertrude Harvan of Tamaqua; and five grandchildren.

Stephen P. Stianche
Stephen P. "Gummy" Stianche, 86, of Hauto R.1, Nesquehoning, died Friday morning in St. Joseph Medical Center, Hazleton. He was the husband of the late Pauline H. (Matsick) Stianche who died in 1990.
Born in Hauto, he was a son of the late Joseph and Suzanna Stianche.
He was employed as a sewing machine mechanic at various garment factories in the Panther Valley area, retiring in 1981.
He was a life-long resident of Hauto, and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Nesquehoning, and the Hauto Fire Company.
Surviving are three sons, Bernard J. of Northampton, Stephen P. of Jim Thorpe, and Richard J. of Lansford; three brothers, Thomas of Lansford, John of New Jersey, and Frank of Ohio; one sister, Agnes, wife of Fred Reich of Conygham.
Also 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Michael, and four sisters, Margaret, Ella, Bertilla and Mary.
The Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, is in charge of arrangements.
Stianche survivor
Among the survivors of Stephen P. "Gummy" Stianche, 86, of Hauto, Nesquehoning R.1, who died Friday morning in the Hazleton-St. Joseph medical Center, is a daughter Marian, wife of Michael Gerber of Jim Thorpe.

Arlene E. Kistler
Arlene E. Kistler, 66, of Kempton R.2, died Thursday evening in the Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown where she had been a resident since last June.
She was the widow of Paul J. Kistler, who died in 1977.
Born in Albany Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Beulah (Rausch) Kunkel.
She was last employed as a machine operator for the former Cinderella Knitting Mill in Leesport from 1984 to 1994 when she retired.
She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Stoney Run.
Surviving is a daughter, Doris F. Peters of Kempton, a son, David P. Kistler of Kutztown; two sisters, Mirian, wife of Cliffor Reichel of Kutztown; four brothers, Howard Kunel of Kempton, Clarence and Ellis, both of Kempton R.2, and Herman of Allentown. Also two granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clayton, George and Ivan.
The Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Jacksonville (Rt. 143) Lehigh County, is in charge of arrangements.

Mary F. Goldbach
Mary F. Goldbach, 85, of 234 North Third St., Lehighton, died Friday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late August and Christina (Stehling) Goldbach.
She was employed at Barson and Bishop Mills, Lehighton, for 48 years, retiring in 1973.
She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Marcella Leffler, and Anna, wife of Paul Feller, both of Lehighton.
The Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home, Fourth and Iron Streets, Lehighton, is in charge of arrangements.

John A. Miller
John A. "Bing" Miller, 80, of 311 Race St., Tamaqua, died Friday evening. He was the husband of Fern M. (Flynn) Miller. They were married 56 years in June.
Born in Tamaqua, he was a son of the late Edward and Alice (Buss) Miller.
He retired from Bethlehem Mines. Prior to that he worked for Marineršs as a mechanic.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tamaqua, and was a life member of the Citizens Fire Co., Tamaqua. He also belonged to the Schuylkill County Firemenšs Association, and the United Mine Workers.
Surviving is a brother William of Tuscarora.
He was preceded in death by a brother thomas.
The E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Susan A. Squire
Mrs. Susan A. Squire, 95, of Towamensing Township, Kunkletown, died Tuesday in the Brookmont Health Care Center, Effort. She was the widow of William B. Squires, who died in 1966.
Born in Franklin, Pa., she was a daughter of the late George R.E. and Edith (Griffith) Dawson.
She was of the Episcopalian faith.
Mrs. Squire was a member of the Women's Republican Club and the Order of Eastern Star, both of Hackensack, N.J.; and was a past president of the Women's Guild at St. Andrew Episcopal Church, Harrington Park, N.J. She was a former county GOP committee women in Harrington Park.
Surviving are a son, William H.B. of Bergenfield, N.J.; a daughter, Marion Corcoran, with whom she resided; a sister, Edith Stockman of Harrington Park; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. George J. Saunders
Mrs. M. Bette Saunders, 67, of 1035 Municipal Drive, Walnutport, died Sunday in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem. She was the wife of George J. Saunders.
She was a secretary for Saunders Associates, Palmerton.
Born in Edwardsville, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Richard D. and Mary (James) Jones, and a stepdaughter of the late Geraldine (Case) Jones.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Nanticoke.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, George J. III of Allentown and Richard A. and Donald D., both of Walnutport; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was the last member of her immediate family.
The Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Sarah Davidson
Mrs. Sarah Davidson, 89, formerly of East Front Street, Lansford, died Dec. 31 in the Harrison Memorial Hospital, Bremerton, Wash. She was the widow of George Davidson, who died in 1985.
Prior to retiring, she was employed by Jonathan Logan.
Born in Summit Hill, she was a daughter of the late James Clark and Bertha (Gangaware) Ross.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, and the Auxiliary of the Railroad Trainmen, and previously belonged to the Panther Valley Golden Agers.
Surviving are a son Robert of Bremerton; a brother Emanuel of Newport, N.C.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ellamae Derzock; a sister, Ella Snyder; and a brother David.

Charles A. Hildenbrandt
Charles A. Hildenbrandt, 73, of 57 Hickory Hills Drive, Bath, Moore Township, died Thursday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Dorothy L. (Beahm) Hildenbrandt. They observed their 33rd wedding anniversary last May.
He ws a truck driver for Chemical Lehman Tank Lines, Inc., Nazareth, for 25 years before retiring in 1985, and was a recipient of the Hi-Miller Safe Drivers Club.
Born in Bushkill Township, he was a son of the late Charles F. and Minnie (Rissmiller) Hildenbrandt.
He was a member of Teamsters Local 429, Health and Welfare Fund, and the Harold V. Knecht American Legion Post 415 and the V.F.W. Post 4366, both of Nazareth.
Surviving in addition to his widow are three sons, Charles A. Hildebrandt of Bath, Stanley Parenti of Breinigsville and Eugene Parenti of Easton; a sister, Dorothy H. of Bath; four grandchildren and a great-grandson.
He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter.

Thomas Pasquariello
Thomas Pasquariello, 68, of 355 S. Hokendauqua Drive, Northampton, died Friday in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Doris (Sousa) Pasquariello. They observed their 45th wedding anniversary in october.
He was the owner and operator of Pasquariello Auto Shop, Northampton, for 28 years before retiring in 1990.
Born in Hudson, N.Y., he was a son of the late John and Filomina (DeLucia) Pasquariello.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bath.
An Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a member of American Legion Post 215, Catasauqua.
The deceased also belonged to the Slatington Moose Lodge; the Petersville Rod and Gun Club; Raccoon Club of Northampton; and the Klecknersville Volunteer Fire Company.
Surviving in addition to his widow are four sons, John of Whitehall Township, Thomas of Palmerton, James of Allentown and Marion of Northampton; two daughters, Phyllis, wife of Gary Lerch of Northampton, and Lorene Hahn of Catasauqua; four brothers, Carmen of Caserra, Italy, Anthony and Umberto, both of Northampton, and Maior of Whitehall; a sister, Maria Kutz of Whitehall; and 10 grandchildren.

Olive Kromer
Olive Kromer, 87, formerly of Lehigh Township, died Wednesday in Gracedale, Upper Nazareth Township.
She was a sewing machine operator for Scotty's Fashions, palmerton.
Born in Lehigh Township, she was a daughter of the late Tilghman and Katie (Young) Kromer.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Cherryville.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.

Louis S. Hirsch
Louis S. Hirsch, 87, of Effort, died Friday in his home. He was the husband of the late Anna (Veszpremi) Hirsch.
He was a self-employed carpenter, remodeling homes in the Bethlehem, Easton and Poconos areas since 1954. Previously, he owned and operated Hirsch's Hotel, Bethlehem. During World War II, had worked at the Lehigh Foundry, and prior to that had been employed by the Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
Born in Sokoro Packo, Hungary, he was a son of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Marics) Hirsch.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are two daughters, Lou Ann Schlegel of Effort and Elizabeth Behler of Kunkletown; a son, Louis Jr. of Fort Pierce, Fla.; a sister, Helen Stephan of Philadelphia; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
