Stephen Stefchak
Stephen Stefchak, 79, of Allentown, died Monday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Mary (Gaydos) Stefchak. They observed their 56th wedding anniversary last September.
He worked for Spirax Sarco, Inc., Allentown, for 30 years until retiring.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Stephen and Mary (Verdun) Stefchak.
He was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, Allentown.
Stefchak was a 4th degree member of Lehigh Valley General Assembly of the Knights of Columbus, Allentown.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son Stephen of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter Barbara, wife of Michael Anthony Jr., and two brothers, Peter and Joseph, all of Allentown; two sisters, Irene Farber of Palmerton and Marie of Allentown; and four grandchildren.
Alvin M. Itterly
Irvin M. Itterly, 60, of 801 George St., Pen Argyl, died Monday in his home. He was the husband of Betty (McElhone) Itterly for 36 years.
A 1958 graduate of East Stroudsburg University, he was a science teacher at Nazareth High School for 27 years before retiring in 1933.
Born in Flicksville, he was a son of Mrs. Lucilla (DeLong) Itterly of Pen Argyl and the late Morris W. Itterly.
He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Plainfield Township, where he belonged to the Lutheran Men, sang in the choir and served on the council and cemetery board.
Itterly was a member of the Pennsylvania State Educational Association and the Kunkletown Rod and Gun Club.
Surviving in addition to his widow and mother are a son, Michael H., at home; a daughter, the Rev. Allyn, wife of Scott Giuffre of New Florence, Westmoreland County; and five grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son Stephen.
Franklin E. Christman
Franklin E. Christman, 78, of Gilbert, died Monday in his home. He was the husband of Virgil (Feller) Christman. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary in December.
He was a mechanic for Krome Chevrolet, Gilbert, for 45 years before retiring in 1993, and was also a self-employed lawn mower mechanic for more than 40 years.
Born in Gilbert, he was a son of the late Franklin and Verna (Miller) Christman.
He was a member of Effort United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, Franklin L., at home; and a sister, Marian Featherman of Bethlehem.

Robert W. Schindler
Robert W. Schindler, 76, of 358 N. Second St., Lehighton, died Tuesday in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. He was the husband of Marian F. (Kunkle) Schindler. They observed their 44th wedding anniversary in December.
He was a car repairman for the Philadelphia, Bethlehem and New England Railroad, a subsidiary of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, for 17 years before retiring in 1982. Previously, he worked at the Packerton Shops of the former Reading and Lehigh Valley railroads.
Born in Egypt, he was a son of the late Fred and Bella (Kemmerer) Schindler.
He attended Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Lehighton.
A Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post 314, Lehighton, and the Marine Corps Association.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two sons, Robert A. and Thomas E., both of Lehighton; and two grandchildren.

Kenneth M. Brong Sr.
Kenneth M. Brong Sr., 73, of Lebanon Township, N.J., died Tuesday in the Hunterdon, N.J., Medical Center.
Born in Brodheadsville, he was a son of the late Monroe Phillip and Emma Jan Searfass Brong. He lived all his adult life in the High Bridge, N.J., area.
He was a carpenter for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 455 of Somerville, N.J., retiring in 1988. Since his retirement, he has worked as a maintenance man for Rudl and Son in Glen Gardner, N.J.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth M. Jr. of High Bridge; a daughter, Sharon H. Apgar of Washington, N.J.; a brother Stanley of High Bridge; six sisters, Pearl Ketcel of Tampa, Fla., Emma Jane Shafer of Stroudsburg, Marauete Shafer of Pen Argyl, Mary Jean Warner of Pocono Pines, Glendora M. Eckman of Lehighton and Edith M. Werkheiser of Effort; and three grandchildren.
He was also, preceded in death by a brother, Sterling L., who died Feb. 3.
Michael E. Hitcho Sr.
Michael M. Hitcho Sr., 79, of Allentown, died Wednesday in ManorCare Health Services, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Frances J. (Melkosky) Hitcho. They observed their 51st wedding anniversary in January.
He was a self-employed carpenter-contractor.
Born in Beaver Meadows, he was a son of the late Michael and Mary (Delman) Hitcho.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving in addition to his widow are three sons, Michael E. Jr. of Fort Bragg, N.C., Francis A. of Whitehall Township and Daniel T. of Allentown; four daughters, Regina H., wife of Craig Garretson of New Hope, Bucks County, Monica M., wife of Wayne Christman of Allentown, Maryanna F., wife of Julius Funaro of Hastings on the Hudson, N.Y., and Susan A. Madea of Parryville; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Ogazalek of Lansford and Pauline, wife of Peter Monetz of Beaver Meadows; and 11 grandchildren.
Mrs. Whitley C. Schleiker
Mrs. Joyce L. Schleiker, 67, of Mountainhope, died Tuesday in the St. John's-Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. She was the wife of Whitley C. Schleiker.
She worked at Weiler Brush Company, Canadensis, for 28 years before retiring in 1991, and also was a bookkeeper for her husband's paint store, Whit's Paint and Supply Store, Mountainhome.
Born in McKeansburg, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Mayme Paul.
She was a member of the Canadensis United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Robert Quinn of Pocono Lake; three brothers, William of Orwigsburg, Norman of Lehighton and Charles of Pottsville; a stepson, Stephen Schleiker of Stroudsburg; a stepsister, Pamela Andrews of Bethlehem; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Roy W. Farber Jr.
Mrs. Roy W. Farber Jr., 61, of 214 N. Walnut St., Slatington, died Wednesday in her home. She was the wife of Roy W. Farber Jr. They observed their 43rd wedding anniversary in February.
She was a switchboard operator for the former Allen Laundry, now McIntosh Laundry, Allentown, for many years, and also worked at a day care center in Slatington.
Born in Newside, she was a daughter of Mrs. Edna (Blose) Peters of Slatington and the late William Peters Sr.
The deceased was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Slatington, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years and a cleaning lady.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are a son, Blaine W. of Lehighton; two brothers, Carl of Slatington and William of Northampton; two sisters, Pauline, wife of Charles Kressler of Allentown, and Dorothea, wife of Roy Horn of Slatington; and a granddaughter.

Mrs. Lynn B. Moyer
Mrs. Marilyn M. Moyer, 66, of 30 Wetzel Road, Macungie, died Wednesday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Lynn B. Moyer. They observed their 41st wedding anniversary last August.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Edward W. and Blanche I. (Zettlemoyer) Hunsicker.
She was a member of the Lutheran congregation of St. Peter Union Church, Macungie, where she served on the council for more than eight years and also belonged to the women's group.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Renee J., wife of James W. VanWert of Wescosville, and Gayle C., wife of Keith J. Wetzel of Zionsville; a sister, Joyce B. Snyder of Quakertown; a brother, Edward W. Jr. of New Tripoli; and six grandchildren.
Albert J. Kulpa
Albert J. Kulpa of 90 King St., Edison, N.J., a native of Summit Hill, died April 1 in the John F. Kennedy Hospital, Edison. He was the husband of Josephine Kulpa.
He was a self-employed in electrical contractor.
Born in Summit Hill, he was a son of the late Joseph and Sophie (Kozuch) Kulpa.
He was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church, Edison.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two daughters, Dorothy Kohut and Susan Dillon, both of Edison; three sisters, Jennie O'Gurek of Bethlehem and Mary and Theresa, both of Summit Hill; a brother Joseph of Summit Hill; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services wi8ll be held Saturday in Edison.

Mrs. Clara B. Bonner, 94, formerly of 339 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, died Thursday in Port Charlotte, Fla. She was the widow of Bernard Bonner.

Edith M. Tini
Edith M. Tini, 80, of 117 W. Water St., Lansford, died Thursday in the Geriatric Center of the Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale.
Born in Lansford, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Nicolette (DeMatto) Tini.
She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Lansford.
Surviving are a brother Peter of Tamaqua; and four sisters, Mrs. Anna Digilio and Eleanor, wife of Andrew Slog, both of Lansford, Emma, wife of Frank Pazgan of Whitehall Township, and Olga, at home.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Carmen and Orlando.

Stephen Zona
Stephen Zona, 67, of 1201 Mahoning Mountain Road, Mahoning Township, died this morning at his home. He was the husband of Mary (Hydro) Krickik Zona. His first wife, Margaret (Vincler) Zona died in 1985.
He retired from Bethlehem Steel after working 32 years as a fireman for the company's fire department.
Born in Nesquehoning, he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Filish) Zona.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Lansford.
He was a corporal with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He was a member of the East Penn Sportsman's Club.
Surviving with his widow is a son, Stephen D. Zona, and a daughter, Patricia Zona, both of Lehighton; a step-son, Michael Kricik of Jim Thorpe; a step-daughter, Diane, wife of John Kruslicky of Homassa, Fl.; five brothers, Samuel and Michael, both of Lehighton; Martin of Packerton; his twin brother, Stephen of Michigan, and Thomas of Plainfield, N.J.; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Morris of Allentown, Susan, wife of John Vaughn, and Mary, wife of Kenneth Bretz, both of Lehighton. Also, seven step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Paul, and a sister, Elizabeth Thomasik.
