Pennsylvania Obituary and Marriage Records, 1947-2010

Mrs. Gertrude M. Rolappe
Mrs. Gertrude M. Rolappe, 93, of the Blue Mountain Manor Nursing Center, Kunkletown, died Sunday in the Palmerton Hospital. She was the widow of Karl Rolappe.
Born in Bremen, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Heinrich K. and Karoline (Kenter) Dunnemann.
Surviving are three daughters, Lilanne, wife of Hans Windhorn, Karin Rolappe-Aloia and Hannelore, wife of Ralph Amil, all of Palmerton; a son Wilfried of Kunkletown; 25 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter Trudy and two sons, Heinz and Joachim.
The Thomas K. Thomas Funeral Home, 145 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, is in charge of the arrangements.

Paul E. Eisenhart
Paul E. "Dago" Eisenhart, 87, of 51 Kiernan Ave., Hellertown, died Monday in the Muhlenberg Hospital Center, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Frances M. (Miller) Eisenhart.
He worked in the blast furnace department of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 43 years before retiring in 1972.
Born in Upper Saucon Township, he was a son of the late Wallace C. and Jennie Mae (Sloyer) Eisenhart.
He was a member of New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem.
Among his survivors is a sister, Helen V. Koch of Weatherly.

Alben G. Brazes
Alben G. Brazes, 79, of 747 Washington St., Walnutport, died Monday in his home. He was the husband of Ethel M. (Schnable) Brazes.
He was an upholsterer for Greystone Manufacturing, Fountain Hill, for many years before retiring in 1982.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Sylvester and Amelia (Jankauskinte) Brazes.
He was a member of American Legion Post 16, Slatington, the Slatington Skeet Club and the Diamond Fire Company, Walnutport.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, Robert A. of Walnutport; three daughters, Frances D., wife of Ronald A. Snyder of Joppa, Md., Pat F. Solt of Palmerton and Diane M., wife of Steven T. Trainer of Walnutport; and seven grandchildren.

William E. Bennett Sr.
William E. Bennett Sr., 96, of Allentown, died Sunday in the MountainView Manor, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Violet E. (Heintzelman) Bennett.
He was a businessman in the Allentown area for many years before retiring.
Born in Alburtis, he was a son of the late James G. and Eliza Bennett.
He was a member of Dubbs Memorial United Church of Christ and the Odd Fellows Hall Association, both of Allentown.
Among his survivors is a daughter Pearl, wife of Edward Hunsicker of New Tripoli.

Luther L. Lauer
Luther L. Lauer, 74, of Allentown, died Monday in ManorCare Health Services, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Mae (Litzenberger) Lauer. They observed their 49th wedding anniversary last month.
He was a self-employed truck driver for A-Treat Bottling, Allentown, for 35 years before retiring.
Born in Slatington, he was a son of the late John Lauer and Nora Lauer Bartholomew.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two daughters, Nancy, wife of John Dankel of Cocoa, Fla., and Charlotte of Allentown; and two grandsons.

Smith infant
Skylar Alexis Smith, daughter of Donald J. Smith Jr. and Lisa G. (Andrulevich) Weir of Allentown, was stillborn Thursday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Surviving in addition to her parents are a sister, Ashley Weir of Shillington, Berks County; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Andrulevich of Reading; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Smith Sr. of New Tripoli.

Behrle employment
Thomas F. Behrle, 62, of 67 Race St., Jim Thorpe, who died Sunday in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, was a native of Philadelphia and had been employed as a spreader's helper at Tom's Sportswear, Lehighton.

Mrs. Paul Gregory
Mrs. Lillian R. Gregory, 68, a guest at Weatherwood Senior Living Community, Weatherly, formerly of Nesquehoning, died Monday in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. She was the wife of Paul Gregory and the late Angelo Ricciardi.
She worked for many at area garment factories before retiring.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late James and Mae (Williams) Motley.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a brother James of Rome, N.Y.; and nieces and nephews.
The Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, is in charge of the arrangements.

Angelo Callari
Angelo Callari, 39, of Effort, died Sunday in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Debra (Gilson) Callari. They observed their 10th wedding anniversary last October.
He worked in cabin service for United Airlines for 10 years.
Born in Italy, he was a son of Salvatore and Antonina (Sorace) Callari of Brooklyn, N.Y.
The deceased was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Gilbert, and the International Association of Macinists Union.
Surviving in addition to his widow and parents are a son Salvatore and two daughters, Krystina and Marlisa, all at home; four brothers, Tony and Nat, both of Long Island, N.Y., Robert of Flushing, N.Y., and Joseph of Brooklyn; and five sisters, Giovanna, Lisa and Grace, all of Brooklyn, Anna Dattolo of Long Island and Connie Camarda in Italy.
The Kresge Funeral Home, Rt. 209, Brodheadsville, is in charge of the arrangements.

Harry W. Lewis
Harry W. Lewis, 73, of Willingboro, N.J., died April 1 in the New Jersey Veterans Home, Vineland, N.J. He was the husband of Theresa (Walsh) Lewis.
He was employed as a machinist for Langston, Inc., Cherry Hill, N.J., before retiring.
Born in Nesquehoning, he was a son of the late John and Grace (Davis) Lewis.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having served as a paratrooper.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son Greg of Leesville, S.C.; two daughters, Laura of Willingboro and Denise Pittman of Pennsauken, N.J.; two brothers, John of Vancouver, Wash., and Ellis of Levittown, Pa.; two sisters, Lillie Youngberg of Arronsburg, Pa., and Ethel McLean of Jim Thorpe; and two grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Terry and Susan, who died in infancy; and five sisters, Jane Ronneburger, Anna Mae Mulcahy, Margaret Moser, Betty Snyder and Florence Hornbuckle.
Funeral services were held in Beverly, N.J.

Mrs. Connie Leidich
Mrs. Connie Leidich 76, of 115 W. Lehigh St., Coaldale, died Tuesday in the Geriatric Center at Miners Memorial Medical Center. She was the widow of James Leidich.
The August M. Gulla Funeral Home, 130 E. Ridge St., Coaldale, is in charge of arrangements.

John F. Carroll
John F. Carroll, 62, of 1012 First St., Mechanicsville, Pottsville, died Thursday in the Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic. He was the husband of the late Gladys (Keefer) Carroll, who died in November, 1995.
He had been employed as a landscaper for Union Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.
Born in Tamaqua, he was a son of the late John F. and Helen (Moyer) Carroll.
He was a member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church, Tamaqua, and attended St. Jerome's School.
He is survived by a daughter, Darlyne Heck, at home; three brothers, Eugene, Joseph and Ronald, all of Tamaqua; a sister, Betty Murphy of Coaldale; one grandson; and nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Larkin and Anna Carroll.
The Robert A. Evans Funeral Home, Coal and Jackson streets, Port Carbon, is in charge of arrangements.

Donald Koltiska
Donald Koltiska, 60, of 3510 N. Front St., Philadelphia, formerly of Lansford, died March 26 in Philadelphia. He was the husband of Joan Koltiska.
Born in Lansford, he was the son of the late Sadie and Paul Koltiska.
He attended the former St. Ann School in Lansford.
Surviving with his widow is a son Mark; one brother Paul of Norfolk, Va.; and a sister Mary.
Services were held in Philadelphia.

Mrs. Helen L. Pfrom
Helen L. Pfrom, 88, formerly of 360 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, died Friday in the Palmerton Hospital. The former Helen L. Horn, she was the widow of Howard Pfrom.
Born in Pond Creek, Luzerne County, she was the daughter of the late August and Bertha (Sheetz) Horn.
She was a cook for the Palmerton Area School District for 15 years until her retirement in 1969.
She was a member of St. John's Towamensing Lutheran Church, Palmerton.
She also was a past president of the V.F.W. Post Auxiliary of Palmerton, past co-chairman of the Palmerton Silver Jubilee Committee, and was the cook for many years for the Mader-Gaydos American Legion Post of Palmerton.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty, wife of Stinson Frantz of Summerfield, Fla; a stepsister, Mrs. Ruther Smith of Palmerton; 6 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Bernard Gmitter.

Martha A. Smith
Martha A. Smith, 81, of 178 Avenue A., Palmerton, died Friday in the Palmerton Hospital. She was the widow of Kenneth W. Smith.
Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Knaus) Wentz.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Palmerton, the West End Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary in Palmerton, and the Over 60 Club of Palmerton.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James and William Wentz.
