Pennsylvania Obituary and Marriage Records, 1947-2010

Kenneth H. Miltonberger
Kenneth H. Miltonberger, 69, of 319 W. Main St., Bath, died Wednesday in the Muhlenberg Hospital Center, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Louise M. (Klingaman) Miltonberger. They were married for 47 years.
He was an electrician for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, working in its research laboratory, for 33 years before retiring in 1983.
Born in Beersville, Moore Township, he was a son of the late Harry and Mabel (Biery) Miltonberger.
He was a member of the Emmanuels Evangelical Lutheran Church, Emmanuelsville, where he was a former council member.
Miltonberger was a Merchant Marine and Army veteran of World War II, having served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division.
He belonged to the Plainfield Township Lions Club and the Experimental Aircraft Association, Chapter 70, Belfast.
Surviving in addition to five sons, Glenn of Sacramento, Calif., Jeffrey of Pocono Lakes, James of Saylorsburg, Kenneth of San Antonio, Tex., and Jack, at home; four sisters, Alma Kromer of Bath, Gladys Borger and Shirley Guttman, both of Northampton, and Emma Weber of Catasauqua; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Stephen T. Budinetz
Mrs. Gladys F. Budinetz, 75, of 535 E. Federal St., Allentown, died Saturday in her home. She was the wife of Stephen T. Budinetz. They observed their 48th wedding anniversary in April.
She was a claims processor for Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Allentown, for 12 years before retiring in 1990.
Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Lerue J. and Mabel M. (Fehr) Faust.
She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Allentown, where she was an adult Sunday school teacher for many years.
Mrs. Budinetz was a Red Cross volunteer at the Phoebe Home, Allentown, for five years.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son Tom, at home.

Mrs. Catherine D. McLaughlin
Mrs. Catherine D. McLaughlin of 253 B Spring St., Bethlehem, died Friday in the Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. She was the widow of Francis J. McLaughlin.
A graduate of East Stroudsburg University, she was a first grade teacher in the Bethlehem Area School District, reaching at the William Penn School for 25 years before retiring in 1972. Previously, she was a teacher in the former McAdoo School District.
Born in McAdoo, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Frances (Gallagher) McDonald.
She was a member of SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
Surviving are a niece and a nephew.

Workoff infant
Matthew J. Workoff, son of Matthew D. and Brenda L. (Kelly) Workoff of Palmerton, was stillborn Friday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother Charles, at home; paternal grandparents, Constance and Joseph Workoff of Bethlehem; maternal grandparents, Joyce and Charles Kelly of Allentown; and paternal great-grandfather, Constantine Schultz of Forrestville, N.Y.
Funeral services were held at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Thomas K. Thomas Funeral Home, 145 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.

Mrs. Gloria M. Tust
Mrs. Gloria M. Tust, 70, of Bethlehem, died Saturday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the widow of Henry J. Tust, who died in 1992.
Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Jacob S. and Gertrude (Yehl) Rice.
Surviving are a son, William D. of Los Osos, Calif.; two daughters, Diane M., with whom she resided, and Roseann H., wife of Ronald A. Walbert Jr. of Allentown; a brother Jacob of Danielsville; a sister Bernice, wife of Walter Smith of Bethlehem Township; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

James L. Gallagher
James L. Gallagher, 89, of Allentown, died Friday in the Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Margaret (Mulligan) Gallagher. They observed their 65th wedding anniversary in March.
He was a motor room inspector for U.S. Steel, Fairless Hills, Bucks County, for many years before retiring in 1974.
Born in Mauch Chunk, he was a son of the late James E. and Anne C. (McGonigle) Gallagher.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Allentown.
Gallagher was a union organizer for the American Federation of Labor and a former president of the Hosiery Workers Union in Union and Washington, N.J.
Surviving in addition to his widow are three sons, James of San Antonio, Tex., William of Endwell, N.Y., and John of Deltona, Fla.; a daughter, Sister Anne of Catasauqua; a brother Edward of Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Ralph S. Hughes
Ralph S. Hughes, 73, of Gilbert, formerly of New York City, N.Y., died Friday in the Palmerton Hospital. He was the husband of Susan (Staton) Hughes.
A professional trumpet player, he played in many jazz groups throughout the country, including the group JARO in Monroe County. He was also a picture-framer and artist, owning and operating the Alpha Moulding Co., Gilbert and New York.
Hughes had two silk screen prints in the Museum of Modern Art, New York City.
Born in Ruleville, Miss., he was a son of the late Rufus and Carlotta (Smith) Hughes.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He helped to establish the Al Cohn Memorial Jazz Collection at East Stroudsburg University and publisher "The Note" newsletter.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Kidren Smith of Stroudsburg; a brother, Dr. Jerald S. of Bay Springs, Miss.; a sister, Jeannine Gardner of Natchez, Miss.; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Barbara A. Davis
Barbara A. Davis, 57, of Bushkill, died Thursday in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.
She was a self-employed Realtor and builder of Davis Homes, East Stroudsburg.
Born in Walla Walla, Wash., she was a daughter of Mrs. Erna (Wilson) Smith of Seattle, Wash., and the late Lloyd Humbert.
The deceased was a Navy veteran.
She was a member of the Pocono Mountain Board of Realtors and the Pocono Mountain Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving in addition to her mother are three daughters, Cynthia M. Harley of Kunkletown, Charlene L. Pettis of Effort and Melissa J. Schroeder of Bushkill; two sons, Howard M. Burke of Cumming, Ga., and Gregory L. Burke of East Stroudsburg; a brother, Daniel Smith of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Shannon Pasek of San Diego, Calif., and Molly Wangerin of Seattle; seven grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Anna Pituch
Mrs. Anna Pituch, 72, of 258 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, died Sunday in her home. She was the widow of Thomas Pituch, who died in 1979.
She was a marrow machine operator for Kaijay Pants Co., Nesquehoning, before retiring in 1971.
Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late Michael Sr. and Anna (Hanusik) Hydro, and was a lifelong resident of Nesquehoning.
She was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8088 Auxiliary, both of Nesquehoning.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas Michael of Aurora, Ohio, and Dennis of Nesquehoning; a daughter Rosemarie, wife of Joseph Matula of Nesquehoning; three brothers, Nicholas of Somerville, N.J., and Michael and Vincent, both of Nesquehoning; two sisters, Irene, wife of Stephen Katchen of Budd Lake, N.J., and Agnes, wife of Richard Rohrbach of Bethlehem; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother Paul; and a granddaughter Kristen.
The Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, is in charge of the arrangements.
Pituch addition: Mrs. Anna Pituch, 72, of 258 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, who died Sunday in her home, was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Homick.

Mary F. Baker
Mrs. Mary F. Baker, 73, of 3109 Essex Road, Allentown, died Saturday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the widow of Conrad W. Baker.
She worked in the credit department for the Hospital Central Service and Supply, Allentown, before retiring in 1987.
Born in Montoursville, Lycoming County, she was a daughter of the late George and Myrtle (Snyder) Fowler.
She was a member of Western Salisbury Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Salisbury Township.
Surviving are a son, Duane W. of Arlington, Va.; a daughter, Diane E., wife of Steven Fatzinger of Lehighton; a brother David of Littleton, Colo.; and a grandson.
Russell M.A. Neff
Russell M.A. Neff, 74, of 72B S. Elm St., Kutztown, died Saturday in his home. He was the husband of the late Marian A. (Klingaman) Neff, who died in 1991.
He was a self-employed truck driver for 12 years and later worked in the same capacity for the Banko Beverage Co., Allentown, for 14 years before retiring in 1987.
Born in Heidelberg Township, he was a son of the late Monroe A. and Emma R. (Ebert) Neff.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan D. Meitzler of Kempton and Diane F. of Shillington, Berks County; a son, Russell M. of Kutztown; and three grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Barry F., who died in April.

Ernest Scheller III
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today for Ernest Scheller III, 40, of 4074 Heather Court, Northampton, who died Saturday in the Allegheny University Hospital, Philadelphia, following a lengthy illness. Services were held today in Temple Beth Israel, Hazleton, with Rabbi Lewis Bogage, spiritual leader of the congregation, officiating. Interment in the Beth Israel Cemetery, Hazleton.
He was president of Silberline Manufacturing Company, Hometown, Tamaqua R.2.
Born in Greenwich, Conn., he was a son of Ernest Jr. and Roberta (Rosen) Scheller of Villanova.
He was a 1975 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and a 1979 graduate of Lehigh University, Bethlehem, with a degree in chemical engineering.
He was active in the Tamaqua Industrial Development Enterprise, the Young Presidents Organization, and the National Paint and Coatings Association.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister Lisa, wife of Yona Peretz of Schnecksville; and his fiancee, Dr. Jill Belchic of Philadelphia.
