Erma L. Wagner, 90 of Longwood Manor, Maytown, formerly of Mount Joy, died on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center. Born in Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Susan Nye Steiner. She was the wife of Clarence E. Wagner, who died in 1991. She was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elizabethtown. A homemaker, Mrs. Wagner was a member and past-president of the Florin Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid bingo player and her family was her life. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters . She is survived by two daughters ; Jean Y., wife of George McKain, Augusta, GA, Susan L., wife of Gerald Divins, Mount Joy, six sons ; Clarence E., Jr., husband of Patsy Wagner, San Diego, CA, Paul H., husband of Kathryn Wagner, Enon, OH, Larry E., husband of Judith Wagner, Lititz, Gerald J., husband of Mary, Allentown, Ronald L., husband of Sally Wagner, Mount Joy, Stephen C., husband of Millie Wagner, Elizabethtown, 23 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2006 from Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Richard C. Niewoehner, officiating. JEAN L. WALTZ
Jean L. Waltz, 44 of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at her home. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Mary L. Frye Bigler and the late Walter Eugene Fry. She was the wife of Robert L. Waltz of Elizabethtown. A homemaker, Mrs. Waltz attended Word of Life Chapel, Bainbridge. She also collected Elvis memorabilia and owl figurines and enjoyed traveling. In addition to her Father , she was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her; Helen and Frank Fry. Survivors, in addition to her husband include, three sisters ; Carol Fry, New Cumberland, Patty Packer, Lewistown, Theresa Sites, Gettysburg and a brother; Larry Fry, Steelton. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2005 at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 7:00 PM with Rev. David E. Klepper, Jr., officiating. The will be no viewing. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 until the time of service. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.

COURTNEY N. FLECK
Our Precious daughter, Courtney Noelle Fleck, blessed our lives for 21 years when she came into this world on January 27, 1984 and went to be with her heavenly Father on January 11, 2006. She attended Mount Calvary Christian School and graduated with honors in 2001. Following graduation, she attended Harrisburg Area Community College for one year and was entering her last semester at Methodist College in Fayetteville, NC, where she would have graduated with honors in English. She is survived by her parents, Marty and Doneece Fleck and her five siblings, sister Carrie J., wife of Mark Denges, brother Jeff, brother Jordan, sister Christie and brother Johnathan. We love her and will cherish her beautiful memory. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 from Mount Calvary Church, 625 North Holly Street, Elizabethtown at 2:30 PM, with Pastors Paul Barreca and Chandler Cutting, officiating. DOROTHY N. BECKER
Dorothy N. Becker, 84 of Longwood Manor, Maytown, formerly of Elizabethtown, died on Sunday, January 15, 2006 at Lancaster Regional Hospital. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Emily Freymeyer Nissley. She was the wife of Claud B. Becker for 64 years until his passing on April 3, 2005. Mrs. Becker was a 50 year member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown. She had worked for the Elizabethtown Garment Factory and retired from the former Elizabethtown Water Company. Mrs. Becker was a 1939 graduate of Elizabethtown High School. She was also active in the auxiliary of Conewago Post #329, American Legion and Fred Barley Post #5667, VFW, both of Elizabethtown. She assisted her husband with his secretarial duties with the Legion and also helped with his work while he was involved with the Boy Scouts. Mrs. Becker enjoyed her children and grandchildren and spending time with all family. Holidays were especially warm and loving at the Beckers. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son; James N., who died in May 2003 and brothers , John, Robert, and James Nissley. Mrs. Becker is survived by two daughters ; Joanne Becker Schreffler of Harrisburg, Susan L., wife of Wilbur J. Groff, Mount Joy, a sister; Kathryn, wife of Paul Ricker, Dover, PA, two sisters -in-law; Virginia, widow of Robert Nissley, Elizabethtown and Ruth, widow of Robert Becker, Rheems, 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Frank A. Nickel, Jr., officiating. RALPH L. GREENLY
Ralph L. Greenly, 96 of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday evening at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim. Born in Lititz, he was the son of the late Horace and Sue Lausch Greenly. His first wife, Carrie E. Conlon Greenly died in 1976 and his second wife, Theo Cathrine Hite died in 2004. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown. A butcher, Mr. Greenly was employed at Rudy's in Landisville for 23 years and retired from Baum's Bologna in 1980 after 24 years. He always enjoyed working and loved hunting, latch hooking rugs, and gardening. In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters . Mr. Greenly is survived by two sons , Richard Rimert, East Petersburg and Kenneth, husband of Amelia Greenly, Elizabethtown, a daughter, Dawn, wife of Charles Watts, Elizabethtown, two step- daughters , June Althoff, Horseheads, NY and Lorraine Rimert, Columbia, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and two sisters , Gladys Harner, Rohrerstown, and Laura Roland, Manheim. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM with Rev. Richard Rimert, Jr. and Pastor Frank A. KERMIT ASHER DRUMHELLER
Kermit Asher Drumheller, 89 of Pleasant View Retirement Community, formerly of Elizabethtown, died Monday, January 23, 2006 at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center. Born near Sunbury, PA, he was the son of the late George and Ida Eister Drumheller. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Ella G. Kerstetter Drumheller who died in 1989. Mr. Drumheller was a mechanic all of his life and was formerly employed by Olmsted Air Force Base in Middletown before owning and operating Drumheller's Garage in Elizabethtown. He was an avid hunter and archer and was a life member of Milton Grove Sportsman Club, the NRA and Big Chiques Bowman. Additionally, he was a member of Loyal Order of Moose #596, Elizabethtown. After retirement, he won several prizes for his woodworking projects. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers , George Palmer, Cloyd, Calvin and Emmanual, and two sisters Gladys Broscious and Blanche Lahr. Mr. Drumheller is survived by four children, a son, Kermit Alvin, Winchester, VA; daughter, Audrey, wife of Ronald Mitchell, McConnellsburg, PA; son, Carl, Rheems; son, Barry, husband of Joan Drumheller, Ephrata; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Melvin, husband of Donna Drumheller, Northumberland; and two sisters , Dora, wife of the late Arthur Broscious, and Luella, wife of the late Bruce Shipman, both of Sunbury. RAYMOND G. SHANK
Raymond G. Shank, 85, of Bainbridge, died on January 24, 2005 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Conoy Twp., he was the son of the late Benjamin and Amanda Greenly Shank. He was the husband of Grace Witmer Shank, they were married for 60 years in September of 2005. He was a member of Shenk's Church Fellowship, Elizabethtown. Retiring in 1985, Mr. Shank was employed as a relief worker for M&M Mars and it's predecessor Klein Chocolate Factory, Elizabethtown. He also was a farmer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Shank was preceded in death by a son, Anthony M. "Tony" Shank, who died in 1997. He is survived by six daughters ; Jane, wife of Robert Hoover, Strasburg, Georgia Shank, Toronto, Ont., Marcia, wife of Bruce Cotterman, Bainbridge, Sue Arndt, Cleona, Brenda Caraballo, New Cumberland, Barbara, wife of Richard Kuhn, Elizabethtown, three sons ; Fred, husband of Lynn Shank, Bainbridge, Joel, husband of Stephanie Shank, Elizabethtown, Stacey Shank, Elizabethtown, 18 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a sister; Esther Doyle, El Paso TX, two brothers ; Ben Shank, Palmyra and Ralph Shank, Vermont. WALTER E. SHANK
Walter E. Shank of Wichita, Kansas, a retired minister in the Church of the Brethren, age 88, died Feb 6, 2006. Surviving are his wife Naomi; son J. Walter and wife Mary of Longview Texas ; son Robert and wife Linda of Belize, Central America; daughter Kathy and husband Joe Dunlavy of Wichita Kansas; and son Daniel of Wichita Kansas; four grand children and six great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at the West Green Tree Cemetery at 10:30 AM Saturday, February 11, 2006. DAVID WALKER ALLER
David Walker Aller, 48, of Lebanon, formerly of Elizabethtown, died Monday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of Darlene Schaffner Aller and the late James Aller. Mr. Aller was a welder for E&E Metal Fab, Inc. in Lebanon. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he was a member of the Conewago Post #329, American Legion, and the Fred Barley Post #5667, VFW, both of Elizabethtown. Mr. Aller enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting. He was also preceded in death by a niece, Stephanie Aller. In addition to his mother , Mr. Aller is survived by a daughter, Cherie, wife of Brent Melhorn, Mount Joy, a granddaughter, Tierani Melhorn, five siblings, Denice, wife of Joseph Alleman, Loysville, PA, James, Jr., husband of Betty Aller, Mount Joy, Marlena Heistand, fiancee of Eugene Reeves, Elizabethtown, Sandra, wife of Craig Kauffman, Marietta, William, husband of Debra Aller, Mount Joy, 14 nieces and nephews, and 28 great nieces and nephews. DORIS O. LEWIS
Doris O. Lewis, 93, died on January 20, 2006 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown after a short illness. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Doris and her husband, the late William J. Lewis, were residents of Elizabethtown for many years. Mrs. Lewis was employed by Elizabethtown College for 24 years as secretary to four presidents, Dr. A.C. Baugher, Dr. Roy McAuley, Dr. Morley Mays and Dr. Mark Ebersole. For 14 years she was recording secretary to the Board of Trustees. In 1977, she was Woman of the Year for Elizabethtown Business and Professional Women's Club. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown Historical Society and Elizabethtown Flower Club. For many years she was an active volunteer and supporter of the Elizabethtown Library and the Girl Scouts. She was also a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elizabethtown and Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 407, Elizabethtown. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Cora Marvel Ostrander. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Ellen and Ted Filer, two grandchildren, Susan Smallwodd and Leigh Fangmeyer and three great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 125 East High Street, Elizabethtown at 10:00 AM, with Pastors Rchard D. Niewoehner and Margaret L. RHODA M. HESS
Rhoda M. Hess, 87, of Mennonite Home, Lancaster, was reunited in heaven with her husband on Friday, January 27, 2006. Born in East Hempfield Twp., she was the daughter of the late Aaron K. and Edna Mae Metzler Becker. She was the wife of Henry L. Hess who died in 2001. They were married for 59 years. A member of Elizabethtown Mennonite Church, Mrs. Hess taught Sunday school for many years. A homemaker, she was an avid reader and quilter. Mrs. Hess and her late husband also enjoyed traveling to all 48 contiguous states and attending auctions together. She is survived by a son, James H. Hess, Harrisburg, three daughters , Lois, wife of Leroy Smoker, Greenwood, DE, Shirley wife of Walter Hurst, Lititz, Doris, wife of Albert Rodriguez, Lititz, 13 grandchildren 20, great grandchildren and a brother, Clarence Becker of East Petersburg. HARRIET N. HOERNER
Harriet N. Hoerner, 82, of Rheems, formerly of Falmouth died on Sunday, January 29, 2006 at Rheems Nursing Center. Born in Londonderry Twp., she was the daughter of the late Harry Monroe and Sadie Alice Nauss Guttschall. She was the wife of Harry L. Hoerner of Rheems. Mrs. Hoerner was a member of Geyers United Methodist Church, Middletown, where she was active for many years. She worked as a seamstress for several area garment factories and enjoyed ceramics and crocheting. Mrs. Hoerner was an avid gardener and loved flower arranging. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven E. Hoerner, who died in 2003. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Donna L., wife of Larry Hill of Lower Gwynedd, PA, two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a sister, Sara Kriner and a brother, Harry Guttschall. JACOB MARTIN "J.M." ENGLE
Jacob Martin "J.M." Engle, 93, of Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg, formerly of Elizabethtown, died at his residence on Wednesday, February 1, 2006. Born on a farm near Elizabethtown, he was the son of the late Elmer E. and Elizabeth (Martin) Engle. He was the husband of the late Ethel Newcomer Garber Engle who died on December 8, 2001. They had celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary November 28, 2001. He was a 1928 graduate of Elizabethtown High School and a 1929 graduate of Central Pennsylvania Business School, presently known as Central Pennsylvania College. He also attended the American Institute of Banking. He and his late wife founded the J.M. Engle Co. in 1934 and he became the first president of its successor, Engle Business Equipment, Inc. based in Elizabethtown. He sold the business to family members in 1977, remaining active in school sales and support for a number of years after his 'retirement'. He founded the business in 1934 as a part-time venture during his employment for 14 years by the First National Bank and Trust Company (later part of Mellon Bank) and the B.A. Stauffer Home Improvement Co. In 1948 he expanded his business venture to a full time vocation. During his business career, he served as President of Delaware Valley Office Machine Dealers Association and Director of the National Office Machine Dealers Association (now Business Technology Association) and was instrumental in promoting educational and ethical business practice seminars among dealer members of the Association. For many years he volunteered services for Pennsylvania Department of Education Career and Technology division as a program advisor and student evaluator at annual DECA conventions. He also was a charter member of the State Business Partnership Committee formed to encourage businesses to provide "hands on" job experience for students before receiving diplomas. He was heavily involved in his hometown community, Elizabethtown, until September 2005 when he discontinued his driving. He served as a member of the Elizabethtown Fair Board for nearly 25 years, and was involved in planning and promoting the educational and agricultural focus of the fair throughout seven South Central PA Counties, distributing fair programs and securing support particularly from agriculture related businesses. In 2004 he was honored in recognition of his 'commitment and dedication to the Elizabethtown Fair' with a plaque and a building named in his family's honor. He helped to lay the groundwork leading to the formation of the Central Pennsylvania College's Foundation Board of Trustees. He was honored as the first recipient of Central Pennsylvania College's Doctor of Humane Letters (L.H.D.) degree awarded on May 4, 2001. He and his late wife established scholarships with Central Pennsylvania College and Messiah College, Grantham, PA. He was a 40-year member of the Elizabethtown Rotary Club, with 31 years of perfect attendance and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a life long member of the Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church, serving at various times as Church Board Secretary, Building Fund Treasurer, Trustee and Sunday School Teacher. In the early 1950's he established a Sunday School Bus outreach in the surrounding Elizabethtown area. In his later years he enjoyed volunteering for Special Care guests of Messiah Village, faithfully assisting those who desired to attend Sunday Chapel services. His family and friends characterize him as a devout man of faith and integrity and resolute convictions. Surviving are 3 sons , J. Harold married to Nancy McCurdy Engle, Elizabethtown, Richard G., married to Graciela Alvarado Engle of Cape Coral, Florida and Gerald W., married to Sharon Perschau Engle of Marietta, 11 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Bertha M. Engle who died in 1959. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Memorial Service at Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church, 996 East High Street, Elizabethtown, PA on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 11:00 AM, with Pastors Dr. David Hall, Eugene Wingert, and Ron Burgard officiating. Interment is private. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. DOROTHY B. DRACE
Dorothy B. Drace, 88, of Elizabethtown died on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Hospice of Lancaster County. Born in Milton Grove, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Catherine E. Keck Berrier. She was the wife of the late Albert I. Drace who died in 1995. Her first husband, Martin N. Heisey, died in 1958. Mrs. Drace was a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ since 1933. A homemaker, she was previously employed by Elizabethtown High School, working in the cafeteria. Mrs. Drace was a 1935 graduate of Elizabethtown High School and enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and traveling. She was an avid Phillies fan. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son; James M. Heisey, a daughter; Joyce E. Heinaman, a sister; Julia Shaubach and four brothers ; Clark, James, George and Mark Berrier. Mrs. Drace is survived by a daughter; Gayle L., wife of Robert Bush, Landisville, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren a sister; Mary Heistand, Milton Grove and a brother; Dale Berrier, Elizabethtown. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2006 at Christ Church United Church of Christ, 247 South Market Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM, with Pastors Carol A. Bender and Frederick A. MABEL JANE GREINER
Mabel Jane Greiner, 83 of Elizabethtown, died on Friday, February 10, 2006 at Hospice of Lancaster County. Born in Mount Joy, she was the daughter of the late Harvey C. and Lillie Carson Engle. She was the wife of Henry K. Greiner who died in 1995. She was a 50 year member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown. A garment worker, Mrs. Greiner was employed by several area garment factories and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was a 1940 graduate of Mount Joy High School and was a charter member of Willow Wood Swim Club and enjoyed swimming. Additionally, she was an avid reader and like her late husband, loved the New York Yankees. Mrs. Greiner was the youngest of nine children and was the last of her immediate family. She is survived by two sons ; Tyler L., husband of Joani Greiner, Mountville, Anthony K. Greiner, Columbia, several nieces and a nephew. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 from St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 398 North Locust Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM,with Pastor John B. Davis, officiating. The will be no viewing. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 until the time of service. Interment will take place in Milton Grove Cemetery, Elizabethtown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604. Arrangements by Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, Elizabethtown.
