Newcomer
Shirley and Jesse Newcomer of York celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 14, 2001.

They were married at Grace United Methodist Church in Harrisburg by the Rev. Sheridon Bell.

A gathering, given by their family, was held at Normandie Ridge Retirement Community in York.

Jesse is the son of the late Samuel and Katie Newcomer. He is retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Shirley is the daughter of the late Charles and Irene McDonald. She is a retired substitute teacher.

They have four children: Phil of Manchester; Sue Hershey of Mount Wolf; and Ann Strickler and Jane Shade, both of York.

They have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Anstine
Richard and Gloria Anstine of 4 N. Maple St., Jacobus, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 4, 2001.

They were married at Calvary Baptist Church in Towson, Md., by the Rev. G.A. Clarke.

A dinner party, given by their children, was held at the Holiday Inn in York.

Richard is the son of the late Martha and John Anstine. He is retired from Innerst Auto.

Gloria is the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Kopp. She is retired from the Country Club of York.

They have two children: Richard Jr. of Red Lion and Camela Suglia of Dover.

They have two grandchildren.

Snyder
Dale and Shirley Snyder of York celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 10, 2001.

They were married at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 700 E. Market St., York, by the Rev. Herbert Kline.

A party, given by their children, was held June 23 at San Carlo’s.

Dale is the son of Lauretta Straley of York and the late Luther Snyder. He is retired from Weis Markets.

Shirley is the daughter of the late Ruth Krouse and the late Steward Attig.

They have five children: James of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; Kathy Ness of York; Laura Vengoechea of York; and Donna Miller and David, both of Las Vegas.

They have seven grandchildren.

Harlacher
Carl and Delores Harlacher of 242 Waldorf Drive, York, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 19, 2001.

They were married at Ascension Lutheran Church in Baltimore by the Rev. Oscar Carlson.

An open house celebration, given by their family, was held June 24 at Dover United Church of Christ.

Carl is a retired painter.

They have four children: Amy Smith of York; Kim and Jody, both of Dover; and Carl, now deceased.

They have eight grandchildren.
