Peter Jorgensen, Jr

Peter Jorgensen, Jr., 78, of Warwick died peacefully on September 25, 2009 at Waterview Villa, East Providence. He was the husband of the late Ann Teresa (Petrarca) Jorgensen. Born in North Providence, he was a son of the late Peder and Johanna (Johansen) Jorgensen.

Mr. Jorgensen was a construction worker for D'Ambra Construction Company until his retirement. He proudly served in the Marines during the Korean War at Camp Le June, North Carolina. He was a member of the Kent County Marine Corps League, Local 271.

He leaves a son, Peter Jorgensen, III of Oklahoma, a daughter, Jeannine Ann Jorgensen of Providence, and a brother, Ramond Jorgensen of Warwick. He also leaves his special nieces and nephews, Lindsey Petrarca and nephew, Alex Woodie. Loving grandfather of two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Gladys Santagelo.

A funeral service was held on September 28, 2009 at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Warwick. Interment with military honors followed in the RI Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.

Esther V. Larson

Esther V. Larson, 90, of Margate, Florida, died September 2, 2009 at University Hospital, Tamarac, FL.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Emil and Anna (Swanson) Larson.

Miss Larson was a Legal Secretary for The United States Navy at Quonset Point Naval Air Station. She Attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church and was a member of NARFE and the Business and Professional Women's Association.

She was the beloved sister of Arnold B. Larson of Carolina, RI and the late Mildred E. Payette and Evelyn A. Jacobs. Loving aunt of Barry Payette, Eric Larson, Norman Jacobs, Pamela Larson, and Mary Jacobs. Cherished grandaunt of several grandnieces and grandnephews. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday at 10:00 am in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial will follow in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday 6-8 pm.

Marcel N. Lawrence

Marcel N. Lawrence, 84, of Summit Avenue, died Thursday at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Beatrice A. (Forcier) Lawrence for 62 years.

Born in West Warwick, he was the son of the late Marshall and Aurore (Snow) Lawrence.

Mr. Lawrence was a self employed carpenter and enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting.

He was the loving father of Patricia Baker of West Warwick and Marcel D. Lawrence of Pawtucket. Cherished grandfather of four and great grandfather of three. He was the brother of the late Marguerite Lawrence.

His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 am from THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 60 Pleasant Street, West Warwick. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 60 Pleasant St., West Warwick, RI 02893 would be appreciated.

John L. “Jack” MacIntyre

John L. “Jack” MacIntyre, 76, of Watson Street, died Monday at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy E. (Barry) MacIntyre.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Irving J. and Anna R. (Trenn) MacIntyre.

Mr. MacIntyre was self employed as a General Contractor and was previously a driver salesman for Hood Ice Cream for 13 years.

He served in The Unites States Navy during the Korean War.

He was the loving father of Cheryl A. Millman of Warwick, Michael J. MacIntyre of Pawtucket, Joyce M. Russell of Pawtucket, and Daniel J. MacIntyre of Warwick. Caring brother of James MacIntyre of Lincoln, Charlotte Briggs of Providence, Diane Wilkinson of Floria, and the late Ronald MacIntyre, Carol Logsdon, Elaine Serowik, and Virginia Andrade. Cherished grandfather of three and great grandfather of one.

His funeral will be held Friday at 8:30 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Rita Church, 722 Oakland Beach Avenue, Warwick. Burial, with military honors, will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday 5-7 pm.

Eugene Manuppelli

Eugene Manuppelli, 84, of Warwick, died Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Kent Hospital. He was the loving husband of Betty Ann (Dusseault) Manuppelli.

Born in Johnston, he was a son of the late Fedele and Vincenza (Di Petrillo) Manuppelli.

Mr. Manuppelli was a Master Plumber and served in the Navy during WWII.

Besides his loving wife, he leaves his children, Anthony Manuppelli, Michael Manuppelli, Sue A. Manuppelli, and Betty J. Palazzo, all of Warwick. Mr. Manuppelli also leaves two sisters, Connie Acone of Warwick, Rose Robinson of Washington State. Cherished grandfather of ten grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Sara Messier and Mary Anderson, Fred, Sam, and George Manuppelli.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwood, Warwick, (Exit 12A off I-95). Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.

Robert S. Mayer

Robert S. Mayer, 49, of Main Street, East Greenwich, passed away Thursday at home.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late William H. and Barbara J. (Cunningham) Mayer.

Mr. Mayer was a cook at Norman's Restaurant in East Greenwich.

He served in The United States Navy.

He was the beloved brother of William R. Mayer of Coventry, Deborah A. SanAntonio of Warwick, Eric J. Mayer of Warwick, Sheila M. Galamaga of Warwick, and Kathleen M. Mayer of West Warwick. Loving nephew, uncle and cousin.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:45 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to The American Heart Assn., 222 Richmond St., Suite 108, Providence, RI 02903 would be appreciated.

Charles D. J. O'Connor

Charles D. J. O'Connor, 90, of Warwick, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Brentwood Nursing Home on September 22, 2009. He was the loving husband of Joan C. (Drazdus) O'Connor. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Charles J. and Mary E. (Newell) O'Connor.

Mr. O'Connor was a land surveyor employed by the Department of Transportation, State of RI for forty years, retiring in 1982. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during WWII and Korea. He resided in Cranston before moving to Warwick in 1960 and was a graduate of Roger Williams College.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Alberta J. McFarlane of Columbia, MD, his sister, Kathleen Allegrezza of East Falmouth, MA, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late William O'Connor.

His funeral will be held Friday at 11:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A off I-95). Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Burial with military honors will follow at The Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.

Mary H. (Christelis) Oskoian

Mary H. (Christelis) Oskoian, 92, a homemaker of Warwick, died August 14, 2009 at Sunny View Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Jacob J. Oskoian and the late Charles H. O'Koomian. Born in Island of Imbros, Greece, she was a daughter of the late Konstantine and Helenee (Pappas) Christelis.

Mrs. Oskoian was a member of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Cranston and its Ladies Philoptochos Society and Daughters of Penelope.

She is survived by her son Charles H. O'Koomian and his wife Louisa of Saunderstown; a brother C. Dean Christelis of Cranston; a sister Evelyn E. Rae of Warwick; two grandchildren Michael and Michele O'Koomian; and several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Service was held in The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston and burial followed in North Burial Ground, Providence. In lieu of flowers gifts in her memory made to The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church or the Christelis Scholarship Fund of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated. Arrangements by THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME.
