ANN M. LIGUORI

Ann M. (Robak) Liguori, 81, of Clark Street, Westerly, died on Monday evening, May 3, 2004, at The Westerly Hospital. Her husband, Domenic Liguori, predeceased her in 1961.

She leaves her son, Michael R. Liguori of Lake Worth, Fla., two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte A. and John I. Perrin of Westerly and Kathy J. and Raymond Henry of Naples, Fla.; four grandchildren, Kayla Perrin, Elisa Perrin, Todd Henry, and Raymond Henry Jr.; and a sister, Helen Bello of Westerly.

She was also predeceased by a brother, Joe Roebuck and a sister, Elizabeth Ucciardo.

Mrs. Liguori was born in Royal, Pa., on May 17, 1922, the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Piklo) Robak. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and of the Merchants Village Association as well as being a home-health aide, assisting Westerly seniors. She worked at several area businesses, including the George C. Moore Company, Victor Electric and Guild Guitar of Westerly. Mrs. Liguori was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox who watched every game and loved to travel to Foxwoods Casino to play bingo and the slot machines.

The funeral was held on Friday, May 7, 2004, from Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home, 64 Friendship St., Westerly, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly. There was no procession from the funeral home. Calling hours took place on Thursday at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial took place at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.

MICHAEL K. ROBISHAW

Michael K. Robishaw, 17, of North Bend, NE, died May 17, 2004, at Alegent Health Memorial Hospital, Schuyler, NE.

Born Dec. 14, 1986, in Colorado Springs, Colo., he was a sophomore at North Bend Junior-Senior High School where he was active in track and cross country, wrestling and Future Farmers of America.

He is survived by his father, Ronald C. Robishaw of Westerly, step-father, Bob, and mother, Lori Severson of North Bend; step-brother, Adam Severson, and sister, Crystal Robishaw, both of North Bend; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Donna Way of Chappell, NE; and paternal grandmother, Sharon Robishaw of Pawcatuck.

His funeral will be Friday, May 21, at the United Presbyterian Church, North Bend. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, Fremont, NE.

LAWRENCE E. BUCK

Lawrence E. "Buddy" Buck, 37, of 1114 Main St., Hope Valley, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, May 21, 2004.

Born in Westerly, Sept. 30, 1966, he was the beloved son of Peggy (Main) Buck of Hope Valley, and Charles A. Buck of Griswold, Conn.

Mr. Buck was a self-employed antique dealer and owned and operated the former Lost and Found Antique Shop in Hope Valley. He was an avid cribbage player and golfer, and he enjoyed yard sales and auctions.

Besides his parents, he will be sadly missed by his two children, Anikka Buck and Everett Buck, both of Westerly and his stepchildren, Nadine Thompson and Chandler Thompson of Westerly. He also leaves two sisters, Tammy Pugsley Paul of Hopkinton and Cyndi Edward of North Stonington; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, Main Street, Hope Valley. Calling hours will precede the service from 4 to 6 p.m. Burial will be private.

CLAYTON L. DAVIS

Clayton L. Davis, 47, of Westerly passed away June 7, 2004, in Voluntown, Conn.

Clayton was born Nov. 25, 1956, in New London, the son of Frederick and Helen Schramm Davis.

Clayton is survived by his father, Frederick Davis of North Stonington; three sisters, Cheryl Wrighte of Westerly, Kathy Tillinghast of Exeter, and Barbara Tillinghast of North Stonington; and three brothers, Mark Davis of Kent, Wash., and Erik Davis and William Davis, both of Westerly.

He was predeceased by his mother, Helen; and three of his siblings.

There are no calling hours, and funeral services will be private. Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic, is in charge of arrangements.

DR. JOHN R. EICHORN
Dr. John R. Eichorn, 90, of Braintree, Mass., formerly of Scituate, Framingham, and Boston, died June 9, 2004, beloved husband of the late Frances M. (Kaiser) Eichorn.
Mr. Eichorn was born in Dorchester, Mass., and grew up in Dorchester and Hyde Park, Mass. He was educated in the Boston public school system. In 1939, he graduated from Salem State Teachers College and began his teaching career at a special class center in Salem, Mass.

In June 1942, after earning a master's of education degree at Boston University, Mr. Eichorn was inducted into the army at Fort Devens. He was assigned to the Army Air Corps and after he completed basic training was sent to the Weather Observer School in Biloxi, Miss. On completing the program, he was given the rank of corporal and sent to the Memphis Army Airport. After a brief tour there, he was assigned to the weather section in the Pentagon as a weather cryptographer. A year later, he was given the rank of sergeant and was sent to New York to attend a class at the Institute for the Crippled and Disabled to prepare to function as a rehabilitation psychologist. On completing the program, Mr. Eichorn was promoted to staff sergeant and moved to Pawling, N.Y., where he and some of his classmates assisted in the establishment of a U.S. Army Air Force Rehabilitation Center. After a tour of duty at Pawling, he received a direct commission as a second lieutenant after which he attended a class for clinical psychologists at the Adjutant General's School at Fort Oglethorpe. When he graduated, he attended an Army Separation School, after which he was assigned to the Separation Unit at Fort Sam Houston.

In February 1946, he was separated from the Army and returned to his teaching position in Salem, Mass. On the 23rd of that month, he was wed to Frances M. Kaiser of Syracuse, N.Y. That fall, Mr. Eichorn accepted a position at West Junior High School in Watertown, N.Y., as a special class teacher. A few years later, he was appointed assistant principal. In 1952, he completed the requirements and was awarded a doctorate of education from Boston University.

Dr. Eichorn was employed as an assistant professor at Fitchburg State College, with the charge of establishing a special education program., Two years later, he was promoted to the rank of associate professor. After having planned and launched a special education program, he accepted a position at Indiana University, where he established special education programs at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels. During that time, he also founded a campus school for mentally handicapped children.

After seven years at Indiana University, Dr. Eichorn returned east where he became a professor of education and director of the peripatology program at Boston College. Two years later, he was appointed director of special education and rehabilitation. During his tenure at Boston College, with the help of federal funds, he expanded considerably the special education offerings.

The new programs included one for students interested in teaching visually impaired children as well as those interested in teaching children who are deaf-blind. These latter programs were conducted in cooperation with the Perkins School for the Blind. In 1970, when communities were not yet serving severely handicapped children, Dr. Eichorn established the Boston College Campus School, a school for severely and multihandicapped children, which is still functioning.

In 1983, Dr. Eichorn retired and was named professor emeritus. Dr. Eichorn spent time traveling with his wife throughout western Europe. After 52 years of marriage, Mrs. Eichorn died of a neurodegenerative disease in 1998. Dr. Eichorn always credited his wife for inspiring their five boys to seek professional careers.

He was the loving father of John F. Eichorn of North Carolina, Frederich R. Eichorn of Dorchester, Stephen J. Eichorn and Gary A. Eichorn, both of Rhode Island, and Phillip D. Eichorn of England; devoted grandfather of John C., Sarah, Elizabeth, Katherine, Emma, Juliet and Matthew; brother of Jeanette Hall of New Hampshire and the late Roland Eichorn, Loretta Durkin, Joseph Eichorn and Edward Eichorn.

The funeral will be from the McDonald Funeral Home, 809 Main St., (Rte. 18 opposite So. Shore Hospital) South Weymouth, Mass., Saturday at 9 a.m.. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Clare's Church, Braintree, Mass., at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are today from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Scituate.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in his memory to the Society of Jesus of New England, P.O. Box 9199, Watertown, MA 02471.

TERESA LEWIS

Teresa (Alexander) Lewis, 69, of North Stonington, passed away on June 9, 2004, at Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, after being stricken at home on Monday, June 7.

Teresa was born July 6, 1934, in Westerly, the daughter of John and Sybil Moose Alexander.

A lifelong resident of the area, she was a graduate of Stonington High School and then attended business school in Hartford for a short time. She met her husband Alfred L. Lewis, and they were married in Pawcatuck at Saint Michael Church on Jan. 24, 1953. They had been married 51 years when he passed away on March 29 of this year.

Teresa was a homemaker; she adored her family, especially her time with her grandchildren. She loved to knit, and enjoyed sewing and making quilts for just about everyone in the family. She always enjoyed the time spent with several of her good friends of many years, who had been especially devoted to her needs since the recent passing of her husband by visiting with her and going out often for luncheon dates. She loved to garden and will be fondly remembered for the huge Sunday dinners she would often cook for her family so they could all be together. A devoted wife and mother, her constant love and tireless caregiving for her husband through his lengthy illness will always be admired. She was a member of St. Thomas More Church.

Teresa is survived by five children, Michael Lewis and wife Barbara of Shrewsbury, Mass., Susan White and husband David and David Lewis and wife Grace, all of North Stonington, and Linda Breault and fiancé Rick Brown and Paul Lewis and girlfriend Becky Patton, all of Westerly; two brothers, John Alexander of Rhode Island and Bill Alexander of Westerly; and 12 grandchildren: Alicia and Jesse Lewis, Christopher, Gregory, Marc and Amy-Rose White, Timmy, Shannon and Mallory Lewis, Bryan and Tyler O'Rourke, and Jacob Breault; she is also survived by two loving aunts, Margaret Hurd of Clearwater, Fla., and Alvida Garity of Stonington.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Church, Stonington, on Monday, June 14 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Stonington. Relatives and friends may call at Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic, on Sunday June 13 from 4 to 7 p.m.

The family respectfully suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Teresa's name may be made to the North Stonington Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 279, North Stonington, CT 06359 to go toward the purchase of future rescue equipment.

LYNN MARY SERIGNESE

Lynn Mary (Davenport) Serignese, 57, of Bloomfield, Conn., beloved wife of the late Martin Vincent Serignese Jr., died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at her home.

She was born Jan. 1, 1947, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., daughter of Regina (Bogumil) Davenport and the late Kenneth Joseph Davenport.

She lived in Windsor, Conn., before moving to Bloomfield 37 years ago. Lynn owned and operated Putting on the Dog in Bloomfield. All her life, she had a love for animals. She enjoyed going to her beach house in Misquamicut and loved clamming along the beach; now all the clams can rest easy.

Besides her mother, Regina, Lynn is survived by her son, Martin Vincent Serignese III and his daughter, Jennifer of Bloomfield; a daughter, Paige Pichette and her husband, James, of Bloomfield; a cousin, Barbara Ross and her husband, William, of Pennsylvania; a godson, Jeffrey Ross of New York; close friends, Jan and David Pickman of New Hampshire and Theodore Cocca of Rhode Island; and many other dear friends.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 14, at 3 p.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Burial will be at the convenience of her family. Her family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. For all who knew and loved her, Lynn left wanting them to know, "I love you more."

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Francis Cancer Center, 94 Woodland St., Hartford, CT 06105.
