James F. Cruise Jr.
July 20, 2009

James F. Cruise Jr., 86, of Garden Dr, died Monday at the Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Marianna ( Turrisi ) Cruise.

Born in Central Falls a son of the late James F. Cruise Sr. and Marion (Lupton) Cruise.

Tillinghast-Stiles Company had employed him as a salesman for 38 years before retiring in 2000. He was an Army Veteran of WWII.

James lived in Lincoln for most of his life.

He is survived by a sister, Dorothy Hourahan of Narragansett and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Ronald L. Cruise and Richard A. “Dick” Cruise.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 9am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jude Church, Front St, Lincoln at 10am. Burial with Military Honors will be in Mt St Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends invited. Calling hours Wednesday 5-8pm.

Dilia (Feijoo) Correia
July 7, 2009

Dilia (Feijoo) Correia, passed peacefully Tuesday, July 7th, 2009 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Joaquim Correia, they had been married for 54 years.

Born in Brava, Cape Verde Island, a daughter of the late John and Zulmira (Oliveira) Feijoo.

Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, John and Al, and her sister, Dinora Duarte.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 9am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Edward Church, Weeden St, Pawtucket at 10 am. Relatives and friends invited, calling hours Thursday 5-9pm. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Burial will be in St, Francis Cemetery Pawtucket.

Helen E. Plouffe
July 5, 2009

Helen E. Plouffe, 94, of Cross St, died Sunday at home with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Henry J. Plouffe.

Born in Burriville, a daughter of the late A. Henry and Regina (Pichie) Plouffe .

She was the Co-Proprietor of Plouffe Pie of New England for many years.

She is survived by two sons, Henry Plouffe of Davenport, FL and Robert R. Plouffe of Pawtucket, Three daughters, Janet Allard of Attleboro, Anita Ringuette of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Carol O’Brien of Central Falls, 28 grandchildren 19 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Albert Plouffe and sister of the late Albert Plouffe and Agnes Ciummo.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew Church, Dexter St, at 9:30am. Burial will be in St. Theresa Cemetery, Harrisville. Relatives and friends kindly invited, Calling hours Sunday 6-9pm. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St, Providence RI 02904.

Marie "Jeanne" Ferland
June 28, 2009

Marie "Jeanne" Ferland, went to her eternal reward on June 28, 2009 at Mt St Francis Health Center, Woonsocket.

Jeanne was the daughter of the late Omer and Lumina (Plante) Ferland. Among her survivors are her three sisters: Sister Helen Ferland, SSA from Marlboro, MA; Claire Ferland with whom she resided and Sister Rollande Ferland, SSA from Nashua, NH. She also leaves an aunt an uncle and many cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 2nd, at 10am in St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Rd, Cumberland. Burial will be private in Mt Calvary Cemetery, Manchester, New Hampshire.

Francelina M. Soares
June 26, 2009

Francelina M. Soares, 60, of Steeple Lane, passed away June 26, 2009 at home peacefully surrounded by her family after a 9 year battle with ovarian cancer.

Wife of Manuel Soares, born in Sao Miguel Acores. She was the daughter of Irondina Cabral and the late Ildeberto Pacheco.

Mrs. Soares was co-owner of Falcon Electric and Air Conditioning for 26 years. She loved watching the cooking channel and cooking for her family.

Besides her husband of 40 years, she leaves behind 2 sons, Richard Soares of Barrington, Paul Soares of Lincoln, and 1 daughter, Sandy of West Greenwich, grandchildren; Nicole, Nicholas, Riley, Morgan, Alexis, GianLuca, and Zoe, mother Irondina, sisters, Lidia Arruda of Pawtucket, Maria Manuela Soares of Fall River, and Ana Fox of Michigan, brothers, the late Jose Carlos Pacheco of Fall River, Luis Pacheco of Smithfield, and Idleberto Pacheco of Central Falls, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be private, entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetary Mozaleum, Fall River, Mass.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Home Hospice Care of R.I. 1089 No. Main St. Providence, RI 02904

Alfred C. Briggs Jr.
June 24, 2009

Alfred C. Briggs Jr., 80, of Pond St, died Wednesday at the Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Apriljo (Morais) Briggs. They have been married for married for 54 years.

Born in Oxford, MA, a son of the late Alfred C. and Lillian F. (Peters) Briggs.

He had been employed by Whitins Machine Works for many years before retiring.

He was a Korean War Veteran.

Besides his wife he is survived by fours sons, Daniel A. Briggs of Southbridge, MA, Timothy J. Briggs of Illinois, Keith A. Briggs of Worcester, MA, and Christopher Myslinski of Springfield, MA. Two sisters, Bertha Wing and June Harris, a brother, Robert Briggs and six grandchildren.

He was the father of the late Mary L. Briggs and brother of the late John H. Briggs. Services will be private.

Bertha M.J. Doiron
June 22, 2009

Bertha M.J. Doiron, 85, of Webster St, died Monday at the Mt. St. Rita Health Center, Cumberland.

Born in Berlin, N.H. a daughter of the late Andrew and Rose-Marie (Landry) Doiron.

Bertha was a dedicated Communicant of Our Lady of Consolation Church, a past leader of the Spring of Love Prayer Group and was the voice of the Telephone Spiritual messages. She made and shipped thousands of rosary beads to the foreign missions and to many Catholic Schools. A brother, Amedee Doiron and several nieces and nephews survive her. She was the sister of the late Pauline L’Heureux, Alexina Breault and Corald Doiron.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday in Our Lady of Consolation Church, corner Broadway and Sabin Streets, Pawtucket at 10am. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends invited, Calling hours will be held this evening 5-7pm from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln.

Paul J. Loiselle
June 20, 2009

Paul J. Loiselle, 44, of Lilac St, passed suddenly Saturday.

Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Russell and Clair (Lavallee) Loiselle.

Paul had been employed as a Union Plasterer for over 25 years. He was a member of local #40 Plasters Union and had also previously worked for the Central Falls School Department.

Paul is survived by two sons, Joseph R. and Joshua P. Loiselle. A sister, Carol Felber and two nieces, Sara Loiselle and Lindsay Loiselle all of Cumberland. He was the brother of the late Joseph A. Loiselle. and the former husband of Casimira “Cas” Almeida. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 2 to 5pm, followed by a prayer service from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Paul J. Loiselle Scholarship Fund c/o Sovereign Bank, 310 Broad St, Cumberland, RI, 02864.
