Ernest Reynolds - Cumberland
Ernest Reynolds, 80, of Scott Road, Cumberland, passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, at home.

He was the husband of Claire (Beaupre) Reynolds. Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late John and Laura (Hamel) Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds was a heavy equipment adjuster for Continental Insurance Company for several years, retiring in 1993. Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Wayne Reynolds and Brian Reynolds, both of Cumberland, and four grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Gerald Reynolds.

The funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Care of RI, 169 George Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860 would be appreciated. Arrangements are by O’Neill Funeral Home, Cumberland.

Gerard Boucher - Lincoln
Gerard Boucher, 80, of Martins Way, Lincoln, died Thursday, Aug. 7, at home.

He was the husband of Margaret (Padykula) Boucher; they had been happily married for the past 59 years. Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Joseph and Alphonsine (Plouffe) Boucher, he resided in Lincoln for the past 17 years, previously living in Cumberland. He worked for the Cumberland School Department for 10 years until his retirement and previously had worked for the former Owens Corning Fiberglas Company for 32 years. He was a communicant of Historic St. Joseph Church in Cumberland. He enjoyed working in his yard and playing cards. Besides his wife he leaves three sons, Gerard Boucher and Carl Boucher, both of Lincoln, and Paul Boucher of Woonsocket; two daughters, Cynthia Boucher and Joyce Hockenson, both of Cumberland; two sisters, Doris Chagnon of Central Falls and Claire Paquette in California; and seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was the brother of the late Auora Maillot, Sister Lauray Boucher SSA, Yvonne Landry, Alice Phaneuf, Theresa Labossiere and Leo Boucher.

His funeral will be held Monday at 8 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Route 122, Cumberland, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours are Sunday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914.

Joseph H. St. Germain - Smithfield
Joseph H. “Herbie” St. Germain, 80, of Attleboro, Mass., formerly of Smithfield, died Saturday at home.

He was the beloved husband of Thelma “Lee” (LaRocque) St. Germain. Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late George and Jeanne (Lelancette) St. Germain, he had been a resident of Attleboro since 1977, formerly residing in Smithfield. Mr. St. Germain had formerly owned St. Germain Plumbing and Heating and had worked at the former Moliterno Stone and Providence Granite. He was well known for his ability to fix anything and his willingness to lend a helping hand. He was a World War II Navy veteran. A devoted family man, he leaves two sons, Gary St. Germain and his wife Jean and Marc St. Germain; five grandchildren, Jill Davis and Nathan, Jeremiah, Danielle and Alexandra St. Germain; four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ella and Ana Davis and Emma Livingston; and two brothers, William and Emile St. Germain. He was the brother of the late Walter St. Germain, Cecile Sarazin, Alice Brouillette and Theresa Allcock.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 8:30 a.m. from the Tucker-Quinn Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave., Route 44, Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Eugene Church, Putnam Pike, Chepachet. Burial with military honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.

Linda M. Marshall-Godin - Woonsocket
Linda M. Marshall-Godin, 53, of Napoleon Street, Woonsocket, died Sunday, Aug. 10, at home. Linda successfully battled kidney disease for several years and her passing was unexpected.

She was the loving wife of Marcel R. Godin; they were married Oct. 20, 2001. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Holgate) Marshall. She resided in her home on Napoleon Avenue her entire life. Linda worked for the state of Rhode Island Department of Human Services in the Woonsocket office for more than 28 years. Linda enjoyed traveling and was fond of Aruba, Florida, the Caribbean and New Hampshire and once traveled cross county. She had a special affinity for her cats, past and present, especially Bootsie, Kimber, Sidney and Blackie, and was an avid collector of all types of decorations and memorabilia related to cats. Above all, Linda was devoted to her family and friends. In addition to her husband she leaves a sister, Gail Poisson and her husband Ronald in Florida; a nephew, Ronald Poisson Jr. and his wife Christine in New York; her great-niece and great-nephew, Olivia and Tristan Poisson in New York; her uncle, Ronald Marshall of Pawtucket; and her brother-in-law, Norman Godin and his wife Claire and their children Paul, Roger, Gerald, Daniel and David Godin, all in Connecticut. Linda also leaves her best friend, Sylvia Richards and her husband Bryan of Woonsocket.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, Rathbun Street, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Farm Street, Blackstone. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.

Margaret L. Ballou - Woonsocket
Mrs. Margaret L. (Blanchet) Ballou, 88, of Woonsocket, died Saturday morning, Aug. 2, at the Woonsocket Health Center.

She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Ballou. Born July 28, 1920, in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Marie L. (Blais) Blanchet. She was a lifelong city resident. Mrs. Ballou was a homemaker. She leaves two sons, Walter Ballou of Pawtucket and Leo Ballou of Woonsocket; two daughters, Irene Balleux of Woonsocket and Diana Cote in New Hampshire; 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Father Leo Blanchet and Frank Blanchet, both in Florida, and Eugene Blanchet of Woonsocket; and two sisters, Sister Louise Blanchet and Sister Florida Blanchet, both in Canada. She was the sister of the late Raymond, Adrian, Brother Normand and Teresa Blanchet and Beatrice Pelletier.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 9-10 a.m. with a service at 10 a.m. inside the Egidio DiPardo & Sons, 75 Harris Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will be private.

Patricia H. Zeitlin - Glocester
Patricia H. (Lee) Zeitlin, 82, of Pound Road, Chepachet, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008.

She was the wife of the late Gregory B. Zeitlin. Born in New York, N.Y., a daughter of the late Arthur B. and Alice G. (Holloway) Lee, she resided in Connecticut before moving to Chepachet in 1961. She was the beloved mother of Suzan H. Zeitlin of Portland, Ore., and David B. Zeitlin of Stonington, Conn.

In her youth, she studied classical ballet with Monsieur George Volodine in Westport, Conn., and went on to perform and teach classical ballet for Monsieur Volodine. She graduated from the Arthur Murray Studio in New York City and trained teachers for the Arthur Murray Studio in New Haven, Conn., where she also taught with an emphasis on physically handicapped students and ballroom dancing. Mrs. Zeitlin worked as a travel agent in Connecticut and managed the Carl B. Rowlinson Agency in Norwalk, Conn. When she moved to Rhode Island with her husband, they opened Gregory Piano and Organs in Centerdale where she served as vice president and secretary. Mrs. Zeitlin also was employed as a teacher’s aide in the Glocester School Department for 20 years, retiring from the Fogarty Memorial School. While employed with the Glocester School Department, she judged gymnastics at various high schools in the state and had a ballroom dance class with Ponagansett Adult Education. Mrs. Zeitlin served as a volunteer plane spotter during World War II in Westport. She was a member of the Smithfield-Glocester League of Women Voters and served on the board of directors, as bulletin editor and as voter service chairperson. She also was a member of the Glocester Heritage Society, the Rhode Island Philharmonic Friends Society and the Rhode Island Audubon Society.

Her funeral will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with the Tucker-Quinn Funeral Chapel, Greenville.

Ralph E. Olney Jr. - Scituate
Ralph E. Olney Jr., 79, of Central Pike, Scituate, an operating engineer for Local #57 before retiring, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at Rhode Island Hospital.

He was the husband of Marguerite E. (Sasso) Olney; they had been married for 56 years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Ralph E. and Madeline (Demars) Olney, he had been a resident of Scituate for 43 years and previously had lived in Johnston. He was a Little League coach for Johnston and Scituate and was active with Troop #1 Scituate. Besides his wife leaves his three children, Ralph E. Olney III of Spencerport, N.Y., Allan D. Olney of Oxford, Mass., and Lori A. Beaulieu of Pepperell, Mass.; three sisters, Dorothy Pogonowski of Coventry and Barbara Leclerc and Lorraine Dwoit, both of West Warwick; a brother, David Olney of Coventry; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the *Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Main Street, North Scituate. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.

Robert H. Roderick - North Scituate
Robert H. Roderick, 77, of North Scituate, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Mary (D’Agostino) Roderick and the late Ruby (Hopkins) Roderick. Born in South Providence, a son of Helen (Newsham) Roderick and the late Manuel Roderick, he had resided in North Scituate for most of his life. Mr. Roderick worked for Natco Products in West Warwick and Georgia for 42 years. He was an avid golfer, square dancer, and bowler, loved to fish and had been a little league coach. A devoted father he leaves a son, Robert Roderick II and his companion Debbie Provencher; two daughters, Donna Roderick and her husband George Grace and Sandra Lancaster and her husband Kent; and two stepchildren, Christine Armstrong and Richard Armstrong Jr. and his wife Kristi. He was the grandfather of Robert Roderick III, Meryl Roderick, Stephanie Farrar, Chase, Brett, and Shea Lancaster and Zachary, Grant and Amanda Armstrong. He also leaves a sister, Carolyn Murphy and three brothers, Manuel “Rod,” Kenneth and Donald Roderick.

His service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Tucker-Quinn Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave., Route 44, Greenville. Internment will be held at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-8 p.m.

Thelma P. Dame - Scituate
Thelma P. Dame, 83, of Hartford Pike, Scituate, a secretary for the Ponaganset School System before retiring, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at Fatima Hospital.

She was the widow of Donald T. Dame. Born in Glocester, a daughter of the late Walter and Ella (Waterman) Steere, she had been a resident of Foster and Scituate. She was a founding member of the Ponaganset Band Parents Association and a member of the Grace Church Choir in Providence. She enjoyed painting with oils. She leaves her children, Donald T. Dame of Scituate, Kathleen P. Bowman of South Kingstown and Calista A. McDermott of Scituate; and two grandchildren, Scott Bowman and Cam McDermott. She was the sister of the late Harvey L. Steere and Marjorie L. Bruno.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at a time to be announced in the *Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will follow in Acote’s Hill Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914.

William Robert Harkin III - Cumberland
William Robert "Billy Bob" Harkin III, 62, of Bear Hill Road, Cumberland, passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at home.

Born in Birmingham, Ala., he was the son of the late William R. and Barbara A. (King) Harkin II. He resided in Cumberland for most of his life. Mr. Harkin was a cabinetmaker for many years. He was an Army veteran, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He leaves two sons, William R. Harkin IV of Woonsocket and Wade R. Harkin in Massachusetts; a daughter, Jennifer P. Harkin-Walker in Massachusetts; and two sisters, Dawn Harkin of Westerly and Jacquelyn Roos of Gulf Breeze, Fla. He also leaves seven grandchildren, three nieces and a nephew.

His funeral with military honors will be held Monday Aug. 25, 2008, at 1 p.m. in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery Chapel, Exeter. Relatives are kindly invited. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
