Alyce "Shirley" Smith
August 22, 2014

Alyce "Shirley" Smith, 80, of Lincoln passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22nd. She was the wife of the late Justin F. Smith. Alyce was born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Jamieson and the late Elizabeth (Wilson) Jamieson Porier.

Alyce is survived by her daughter, Susan N. Dalpe and her husband Paul, and their children Kelly and Katie, all of Cumberland.

She was also the mother of the late Kent C. Smith and his wife, Patricia Smith of S. Attleboro. She was the sister of the late: Elizabeth "Betty" Smith, Margaret Ward, Ethel Foran, Millicent Bettencourt, James and George Jamieson. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Alyce was previously employed and retired from Corning Glass, in Central Falls. She was also the chaplin for the Am-Vets Auxillary and a member of the Frank Forloney Post #11 in Cumberland.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am in the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln. Calling hours are Monday, from 5-8 pm.

Henry E. Belisle
August 26, 2014

Henry E. Belisle, 91, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, August 26th. He was the beloved husband of Claire M. (Dupre) Belisle. Mr. & Mrs. Belisle had been married 71 years. Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Hormisdas and Liliose (Mandeville) Belisle.

He is survived by his wife; his sons, Richard F. Belisle of Venice, FL and Michael T. Belisle of Cary, NC; his granddaughter Karyann Belisle of Fuquay-Varina, NC; great granddaughter LilyAnn Belisle and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Robert H. Belisle and the brother of the late Orian, Roland, Montcalm, Paul, Rev. Theodule Belisle, Liliose Bibeau, Juliette Bisson and Claire Gaudreau.

Mr. Belisle was employed as a machinist for Federal Chain Co. for 22 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Starlighters band for 35 years. He was also a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, ASCAP and the Non-Pareil Bridge Club.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 30th, at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Mt. St. Rita’s Health Centre, 15 Sumner Brown Road, Cumberland. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Viewing will be held from 10:00-10:45 am prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in Henry’s memory to Mt. St. Rita Health Centre (www.mountstrita.org) would be appreciated.

Michael McCaughey
August 25, 2014

Michael McCaughey, of Holiday, FL, died August 25, 2014 He was the husband of Karan McCaughey. Born in Providence, he was the son of Edward and Clarice (Bedard) McCaughey.

He began his career in the Service Dept. of Valley Gas Co. and retired as a commercial/residential salesman.

Michael also leaves his son Chris McCaughey; daughter Jill McCaughey-Paulhus; brother Edward; step sons Peter and Richard; 10 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late David McCaughey.

He enjoyed vacationing on Block Island and staying at the Surf Hotel with his many friends and family. He was a former member of Crestwood Country Club. His favorite thing to do in retirement was to cruise the world with his wife.

He was loved and will be greatly missed.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 pm at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln. Burial will take place on Block Island. Flowers are respectfully omitted.

Ruth M. Jergensen
August 30, 2014

Ruth M. Jergensen, of Lincoln, died August 30, 2014 at Mt. St. Rita Health Center. She was the wife of the late Roland H. Jergensen. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Catherine (Flynn) Collins.

Mrs. Jergensen is survived by her daughter Judith L. Beauchemin and her husband Normand Beauchemin of Lincoln; her son Glenn P. Jergensen and his wife Helen Jergensen of Florida; two grandchildren Shannon R. Crotty of Texas and Brandon J. Beauchemin of Lincoln.

A Memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be celebrated on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at LaSalette Shrine, 947 Park St., Attleboro, MA.

Matriarch Doris May (Bishop) Halliwell
September 18, 2014

Matriarch Doris May (Bishop) Halliwell, died peacefully on Thursday, September 18th at Home & Hospice Care of RI Inpatient Center, in the loving care of her family. She had resided at the Emerald Bay Manor assisted-living home in Cumberland since 2003. She was predeceased by her faithful husband Thomas to whom she was married 65 years.

Doris was the loving daughter of the late Lottie (Knowles) Booth Patterson and Clarence E. Bishop.

She is survived by her brother Clarence and Irene (Williams) Patterson; 4 children Barbara and Steve West, John and Gabrielle Halliwell, Anne and Mike Buick and David Halliwell. Doris has fourteen surviving grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Gene Halliwell; grandmother of Mark and sister of Helen.

She led a very productive and caring life filled with poetic expression for her close friends and family.

A Memorial Service will be held at Four Corners Community Chapel, Cumberland, RI pm Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 10:00 am. Burial will take place on October 10, 2014 at 10:00 am at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.

Barbara "Julie" Woisard
September 29, 2014

Barbara "Julie" Woisard, 85, of Cumberland, died Monday, September 29th at Mt. St. Rita Health Centre, Cumberland. She was the wife of the late Thomas G. Woisard.

Born in Lincoln, she was a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Sarah (Reid) Rush.

She was employed as an order clerk for Health-Tex Manufacturing until her retirement in 1991.

Julie was known for the many years she served as a Past President and active member of St. Aidan’s Seniors.

She is survived by her brother Thomas F. Rush, Jr. of Lincoln; nephews Robert Zollo and his wife Denise of Cumberland, and David Rush of Lincoln; niece Donna Marshall and her late husband Richard Zollo; great nieces and nephews Kellen Zollo, Danielle Zollo Sundquist, Geoffrey Rush, Greg Zollo, Gina Hartt, Andrew Zollo and Glenn Marshall and great, great nieces Rian Hartt, Annabella Zollo and Kendal Hartt. She was the sister of the late Phyllis Zollo.

In honor of her wishes her funeral will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Julie’s memory to St. Aidan Parish Memorial Fund, 1460 Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland, RI 02864 would be appreciated.

Eleanor Frances Scullin

Eleanor Frances Scullin, 81, of North Providence, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Hopkins Manor.Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Mary (Doyle) Duggan.

Mrs. Scullin is survived by her son James E. Scullin and his wife Alice of Cumberland; her daughter Mary Anne Florio and her husband David of Cumberland; son William Scullin and his wife Kate of Providence, sons John Scullin, Thomas Scullin, Charles Scullin and Michael Scullin; her twin sister Madeline Johnson; brothers Leo Duggan and Charles Duggan; grandchildren Michael Florio, Kevin Scullin, Jennifer Florio and Kara Scullin; great granddaughter Addison Florio and several other grandchildren, nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late John Duggan, Grace Phillips, Barbara Barone, Dorothy Watson and Elizabeth “Betty” Nelson.

A Prayer Service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 11:30 am in Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln. Visitation will be from10:00-11:30 am. Burial will be private.Flowers are respectfully omitted.

Robert Joseph Walker
March 8, 2015

Robert Joseph Walker, 77, of Cumberland passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 8, 2015. As the Northern Rhode Island Pickle Ball Ambassador, Bob, and his beloved wife, Kathy, were participating in a Pickle Ball Tournament in Connecticut when he passed away.

Mr. Walker, formerly of Lincoln and North Providence was a USAF Veteran and the owner of Central Electric in Pawtucket.

Bobby leaves his beloved wife Kathy of 52 years and five children: John Barrette and his wife Brenda of Georgia, Sandra Johnson and Tony Souza of Slatersville, Robin Walker-Maya and her husband Bill of Cumberland, William Walker and his wife Lisa of Lincoln and Kerrie Follett of North Attleboro. Gramps also leaves 8 Grandchildren: Wayne Barrette and his wife Robin, Nathan Barrette and his wife Ashley, Kayla Turner and her husband Jeremy, Lee Johnson and his wife Catherine, Katie Maya, Hailey and Jake Walker, Corissa O'Neill and her husband Josh. Gramps also leaves 15 Great-Grandchildren: Johnny and Alex Barrette, Angel, Daytona, Cameron, Natalie Rene, Natalie Grace and Cole Barrette, Gabby, Zach and Alyssa Turner, Samantha, Victoria and Sean Johnson.

Bob also leaves his furry friends; Bailey, Bella, Stella and George the Cat.

Bob was an amazing man with a real passion for life and, once he became interested in something, his obsession with learning everything about it was all consuming. We made a list as a family of all the things that caught his eye over the years—golf, bowling, geocaching, painting, building model airplanes, flying small motorized airplanes, obtained his small pilot license, teaching himself how to sail, making flies for fly fishing, downhill skiing, camping, genealogy, square dancing, motorcycle riding, Texas Hold-Em poker, bird watching (especially those Eagles nesting on the Facebook live web-cam), cooking (he made a killer chicken schnitzel), and, of course, Pickle Ball, to name a few. A real renaissance man, Bob will be missed by all of his friends and family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Rd, Cumberland, RI on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 10:00 AM. There will be no calling hours and burial will be private.

Mary S. Beaucage
March 18, 2015

Mary S. Beaucage, 80, formerly of Pawtucket and Providence, died Wednesday, March 18th at Philip Hulitar Hospice. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Anna (Silva) Masso.

She was employed at Carlton Manufacturing until her retirement. She had previously worked as a nurse’s aide in various nursing homes including the former Mrs. Hall’s Nursing Home.

She is survived by her sons, Arthur Beaucage of Johnston, Michael Beaucage of Pawtucket, Norman Beaucage of Florida and Raymond Beaucage of RI; 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 am at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-5 pm.

Leo John Wagner
April 3, 2015

Leo John Wagner, 88, of Lincoln, RI, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 3, 2015. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to the late Mary J. (Sacchetti) Wagner who died in 2011.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, on June 29, 1926, he was the son of the late Leo A. and Lillian F. (Klein) Wagner. He was a 1944 graduate of G.A.R. Memorial Junior/Senior High School. He moved to Rhode Island, after serving in the United States Navy, as a Seabees cook.

Mr. Wagner moved his family to Lincoln in 1957, where he has enjoyed living these past 58 years. He loved nature, especially bird watching, travel, entertaining, fireworks and a great party. But most of all, he adored his “girls,” as he affectionately called his wife & three daughters.

Mr. Wagner was employed as the Head Chef for the Hope Club in Providence for 38 years prior to his retirement. Earlier in his long career as a chef, he worked as a cook for the Biltmore Hotel, managed the Le Foyer Club, was Interim Manager of the Hope Club and also was a member of the Club Manager’s Association. In 1953, Chef Wagner also had the honor of cooking for President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Bouvier’s Newport wedding.

He was actively involved in town politics and was a member of the Lincoln Democratic Committee and Vice Chairman of the Centennial Committee. He also served on the Lincoln Planning Board and as Town Water Commissioner.

Mr. Wagner was Chaplain, Adjutant and Commander of the American Legion Fairlawn Post #42, as well as President of the Pawtucket Veteran’s Council. He also belonged to the 40 and 8, V.F.W., F.O.P. of Lincoln, and Knights of Columbus.

He was a long-time communicant of Saint Jude Church, Lincoln, where we was actively involved. Whether it was serving on the church council, manning the food booth, making his famous chowder & clam cakes for the church fair, serving as an usher, or counting money after Mass, he was very devoted to his church and faith.

Mr. Wagner is survived by his three daughters: Jean E. Armstrong and her husband Dennis Armstrong, of Northbridge, MA, Patti Wagner-Miller and her husband Walter D. Miller, of North Attleboro, MA, and Donna Herbrand and her husband John Herbrand, of Santa Fe, NM; four grandsons: Michael Armstrong, Miles C. Miller, Jeffrey Herbrand and Erik Herbrand; four great grandchildren: Jaykob, Riley, Ashley and Casey Herbrand; a sister: Dorothy Simon of Wilkes Barre, PA, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Robert Wagner.

His funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:45 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Jude Church, 301 Front St., Lincoln. Burial with Military honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, April 8 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Please omit flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to Saint Jude Parish Outreach Program.
