November 29, 2010

PAWTUCKET - Aurora M. Teixeira , age 80,of Reservoir Ave., died November 25, 2010 at Memorial Hospital,surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Fogo, Cape Verde Island,she was the daughter of the late Antonio Barbosa and Agda Teixeira.
Aurora worked as an assembler for Providence Metalizing for several years.
She is survived by her sons, Ildoberto Teixeira of Malden, MA, Joao Teixeira of Holland, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Antonio Teixeira of Dorchester, MA. She was the mother of the late Antonio, Manuel and Orlando Teixeira.
The funeral will begin on Wednesday at 8 AM from the Rebello Funeral Home, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9 AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, No. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to American Diabetes Association, Ste 204, 222 Richmond St., Providence, RI.

Marilyn R. O'Connor

PAWTUCKET - Marilyn R.O'Connor, of Orient Ave, Pawtucket died Thursday, November 25, 2010.She was the daughter of the late James and Inez (Steadman) O'Connor.
Miss O'Connor was born in Providence on July 4, 1926, she lived in Pawtucket most of her life.
Miss O'Connor was a teacher for thirty nine years in the Pawtucket School System.
She taught at the former Baldwin St. School, Cottage St, School, now Curvin McCabe and the Curtis School. For one year she lived in Bad Nauhein, Germany, where she taught for the American Government at a United States Army Post.
She was a graduate of the former Rhode Island College of Education, now RIC and received her Master's Degree from there in 1960.
Miss O'Connor was a member of the Rhode Island College Alumni Association, the Rhode Island Retired Teachers Association, the Blackstone Valley Retired Teachers Association, the AARP of Cumberland, the Memorial Hospital of RI Auxiliary and the Delta Kappa Gamma Beta Chapter, an International Society of Woman Educators. She was also a volunteer at the Memorial Hospital of RI for many years and a longtime communicant of the Church of St. Leo the Great in Pawtucket.
Miss O'Connor is survived by her four God children, Edgar Quackenbush of Troy N.Y.; Mark Maynard of Warwick, Christine Barrett of Alexandria Virginia, Daniel Lycan Jr., of Falmouth Me, and many cousins in New York State. She also leaves her dear friend Janice A. Wunschel.
The funeral for Miss O'Connor will be Monday, November 29, at 9:00am from the MANNING - HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of St. Leo the Great, Central Ave, Pawtucket at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited. Her calling hours will be Sunday 4-7pm in the funeral home.

Ellen Howard Briden

EAST PROVIDENCE - Ellen Howard (Smith) Briden, 92, died peacefully on November 24, 2010 at her home at the Linn Health Care Center, East Providence. She was the wife of the late Earl H. Briden, her husband of 58 years.
Born in Pawtucket, March 22, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Agnes (Howard) Smith. Prior to moving to East Providence a few years ago, she had lived on Birchland Avenue in Pawtucket for about 50 years.
For most of her life, she was an active member of the former Thompson Methodist Church in Pawtucket and then Wesley United Methodist Church in Lincoln, where she served as financial secretary for many years.
In her youth, Ellen played for the Milkmaids Softball Team and participated in the National Championship. She was the proud mother of three children and two stepsons, Rev. Beverly E. Stenmark of Winthrop, ME, Joyce C. Webster of Reston, VA, Robert N. Briden of Barrington, NH, James Briden of The Villages, FL and the late Dr. Earl F. Briden. She is also survived by her sister, Julia LaBarre of North Providence and by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Service of Celebration of her life will be held MONDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2010 at 10 A.M. at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 55 Woodland Street, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln SUNDAY 2-5 P.M. In lieu of flowers, gifts celebrating Ellen's life may be sent to United Methodist Elder Care, 40 Irving Avenue, East Providence, RI 02914.

Daniel P. Savoie

PASCOAG - Daniel P. "Paco" Savoie, 60, a Pascoag resident since 1995, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Michelle C. (Fiola) Savoie. Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Joseph and Marietta (Carr) Savoie. Paco was a weigh master for Patriot Metals in Providence for 15 years before retiring in 1998 due to illness. He was a Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam war; a member of the Vietnam Veteran's Motorcycle Club, American Legion Post 88 of Pascoag and the Savage family. Besides his wife, he is survived by his grandson Mitchell S. Savard, IV; his brother Joseph Savoie of Fairbanks, Alaska; 2 sisters, Jeanne Dellagrotta of Providence and Marcia Cole of S. Attleboro. He is also survived by 2 stepsons, Christopher L. Savard and Mitchell S. Savard, III.
Visitation Monday, November 29, 2010 from 10-11AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11am in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave. (Rte.44) Greenville.Inurnment with military honors will be in RI Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations to Beth Isreal Deaconess Medical Center, Transplant Institute, 110 Francis St., 7th Floor, Boston MA. 02215 will be appreciated.
In celebration of Dan's life, the family requests that BLACK clothing not be worn to the services.

Sharon M. Introini

MANSFIELD, MA - Sharon M. (McCarthy) Introini, 56 of Mansfield formerly of Pawtucket passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday November 21, 2010 at home. She was the beloved wife of Robert G. Introini, with whom she shared 29 years of marriage.
Born in Pawtucket, RI on February 17, 1954, she was daughter of the late Lawrence P., Jr. and Joan E. (Butler)McCarthy.
Sharon grew up in Pawtucket and was a graduate of Bayview Academy in Rumford where she was a standout athlete. She furthered her studies and graduated from the University of Rhode Island, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education.
Mrs. Introini was employed for 28 years as a Physical Education Teacher for the City of Pawtucket public school system, and at the present time was teaching at the Potter Burns Elementary School.
A resident of Mansfield for the past 26 years, Sharon was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and was an active member of the Mansfield Boosters Club.
She was also active in the Mansfield school system and enjoyed coaching sports and attending her children's sporting events. Sharon also enjoyed taking walks and wonderful times spent at the beach.
In addition to her beloved husband she is survived by her loving children Jessica L. Introini of Marblehead, Jenna L. Introini of Mansfield and Robert L. Introini of Mansfield. The dear sister of Patricia M. Winters of Smithfield, RI, Laura M. Gagnon of St. Johnsbury, VT and Lawrence P. McCarthy, III of East Greenwich, RI, Sharon is also survived by several devoted nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday November 27th at 9:00 A.M., in St. Mary's Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday November 26th from 4-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, Sharon's family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Sharon M. Introini Scholarship Fund, care of Mansfield Bank 80 North Main St. Mansfield, MA 02048

Manny Neves
November 24, 2010

PAWTUCKET: Manny Neves, 46, passed unexpectedly on November 22nd, 2010.
Born in Central Falls, the son of Manuel T. and Sally (Seau) Neves of Pawtucket.
Manny was an 8th degree Black Belt World Champion in Muay Thai at the age of 42 and still holds the light - heavy weight title.
Since 1985, he has been a Martial Arts school proprietor and currently the owner of Elite Martial Arts of Lincoln.
He trained with his uncle Bert Neves for many years.
Besides his parents he is survived by two daughters, Gia Neves and Naomi S. Neves, two sisters, Maria Neri and her husband Bob of Exeter, RI and Moi Neves of Pawtucket, two nephews, Gino and Joey Neri, many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, dear friends and his dog, aka his son, Monte.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held Friday from 5 until 8pm.

Viola T. Wilson

PAWTUCKET - Viola T. Wilson, formerly of Lockbridge St, Pawtucket died Monday, November 22, 2010. She was the wife of the late Richard M. Wilson Sr.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred(Thompson) Broadmeadow. She was a supervisor at Hasbro in Pawtucket for many years.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her children, Marion T. Klemonchuck of South Attleboro Ma, Dale E. Wilson of Swansea Ma, Debra A. Casto of Pawtucket, Keith A. Wilson of Kentucky, Gary L. Wilson of Florida Sherri M. Wilson of Pawtucket and Glenn E. Wilson of Cumberland. She also leaves her brothers, Charles and Raymond Broadmeadow, 22 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Richard M. Wilson Jr, and the sister of the late Mildred Patneaude.
There will be a funeral service for Mrs. Wilson Friday, November 26, 2010 at 6:00 pm in the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. The family will welcome family and friends from 4-6 pm in the funeral home, prior to the service on Friday.

SEEKONK - Ann J.(Cahalan) Dalton 93 a long time resident of Seekonk, MA died Sunday. She was the loving wife of the late Sterling A. Dalton for over 60 years.
She was a dedicated volunteer to her church and community.
She is survived by her children Richard Dalton, Barbara Ridings, Patricia Dalton and Elizabeth Camerlin, two grandchildren Christopher Ridings and Dalton Paget and two great granddaughters.
A funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 AM from the CHEETHAM MORTUARY, INC., 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 3850 Central Ave., Seekonk. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
Visitation Tuesday from 4PM until 7PM in the funeral home.

Eveline M. Decelles

Eveline M. Decelles 74, of Leah Street died peacefully Sunday at Hopkins Manor Ltd. Nursing Center after a year's illness.

Born in Pawtucket and a resident of the city for over 50 years she was the daughter of the late Estelle I. Decelles.

Eveline was the Choir Director and Organist for St Mary's Church Pawtucket and for the past eighteen years at St Leo the Great Church as well as several diocesean parishes until her illness.

Ms. Decelles also worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Abraham Schwartz for several years.

Surviving are her sister Therese R. Eldredge and her husband Lewis C. Eldredge Jr. of Cranston.

The Funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00am from the CHEETHAM MORTUARY 1012 Newport Avenue Pawtucket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St Leo the Great Church 697 Central Avenue. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday 3-7pm. In Lieu of flowers donations are requested to be made to St Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry, c/o 697 Central Avenue Pawtucket RI 02861.

Andrew R. Vanti
November 2, 2008

Andrew R. Vanti 77 of East Washington St and formally of Pawtucket died Sunday at the Miriam Hospital Providence. Retired Operation Manager for Dupuis Oil of Pawtucket and Marvel-DeBross Oil of Taunton MA.

Born in Pawtucket he was the son of the late Jean Vanti Sr. and Mary (Ritronato) Vanti.

Mr. Vanti was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict He held membership in the American Legion for over 56 years and was an active member of the Sherman-LeClerc-Monteiro Post 86 of Cumberland. On the State level in 1963 he was the youngest Commander elected to that post, and served as a National Officer in 1990. He was the State Finance Chairman and President of the Convention Corp of the RI American Legion at the time of his death.

Andy was Past President of the RI Chapter of the Natl. Assoc. of Oil Heating Service Managers from 1986-1987.He also served as Natl. Secretary and Past Natl. President from 1986-1996.

Andy has been credited with establishing an open relationship between the Natl. Assoc. of Heating Oil Service Managers and the New England Fuel Institute to establish the now National Oil Research Alliance. In 1999. Andy was presented the Hugh McKee award, the highest achievement, from the National Oil Heating Service Managers.

Surviving are two sons; Andrew Vanti of Pelham NH and Anthony Vanti of East Longmeadow MA. The Love of His Life, Gail Jannerelli of North Attleboro, and his treasured Hymalian Cat Alexander. One brother Jean Vanti Jr. of Pawtucket, and two sisters Virginia Demers of Cumberland and Rosalie Locke of Sagamore Beach MA. Two Grandsons and two granddaughters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00am in St. Joseph,s Church Walcott Street Pawtucket, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Newell Burying Ground Attleboro. MA. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to be made to the American Cancer Soc. 931 Jefferson Blvd. STE 3004, Warwick, RI 02886 in Andrew's memory.

Dragomir Ilic
October 26, 2008

Dragomir Ilic, 46 of Oakland Avenue died suddenly on Sunday.

Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of Christine (Stockbauer) Ilic with whom he lived and of the late Milan Ilic. His given name, Dragomir, translates as “To whom peace is precious i.e. he who cares about peace”. He was a lifelong resident of the city.

He was an attendant for the City of Attleboro.

Besides his mother he is survived by four brothers, Luka, Dragon, Janek and Richard Ilic all of Pawtucket, four sisters, Jowanka, and Helga Ilic, Marianka Bredeson all of Pawtucket, Milanka Bredeson of North Attleboro and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Gunther Ilic.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10 AM in the CHEETHAM MORTUARY, INC., 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday morning form 9-10 am.

Anna M. (Lemiech) Laffey
October 26, 2008

Anna M. (Lemiech) Laffey, 92 of Pawtucket died Sunday at home. She was the wife of the late John F. Laffey.

Born in Uxbridge, MA she was the only child of the late Stanislaw and Agnes (Banas) Lemiech.

She was a retired teacher whose teaching career spanned thirty years. She was a member of the Blackstone Valley Retired Teachers Association and a communicant of St. Teresa Church.

She is survived by twin daughters, Mary J. Laffey of Woburn, MA and Ann E. Laffey of Pawtucket and one cousin Helen Domski of Uxbridge, MA.

A funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 from the CHEETHAM MORTUARY, INC., 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Uxbridge, MA.

Relative and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 8 to 9 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana Faber Cancer Institute, Division of Development & the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, FL 6, Brookline, MA 02445-9924 in Anna's memory.
