Elizabeth A. 'Betty' Casey

Elizabeth A. 'Betty' Casey , 95, of Eaton Street, Providence died Thursday, September l8th at Hopkins Manor, North Providence. Born in Providence she was the daughter of the late William F. and Elizabeth G. (Cannon) Casey. She lived in Providence for her entire life.
A graduate of the Academy of the Sacred Heart at Elmhurst and Pembroke College now Brown University, Elizabeth was a Teacher and Counselor in the Providence Public Schools until her retirement in l975.
She served as a volunteer in the Chaplains Office at RI Hospital for several years. She was a member of the Elmhurst Alumnae Association and Brown University Alumnae and St. Margaret's Leisure Group.
Miss Casey leaves a cousin, Robert S. Casey of Cranston and was a cousin of the late Edward L. Casey, Jr. and Bernard L. Casey.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 8:30 from the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, l68 Academy Avenue with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Pius Church, Eaton Street. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting Hours will be Sunday 4-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the St. Pius School, Elmhurst Avenue, Providence, RI 02908 would be appreciated.
Charles Mendoza Jr.

Charles Mendoza Jr., 88, of Carnation Street, passed away Friday, September 19, 2008 at Haven Health Center, Pawtucket.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Mendoza.
Mr. Mendoza was a World War II navy veteran.
He was a shipper/receiver for the former Carol Cable of Pawtucket for several years before retiring.
He is survived by two sons, Antonio Mendoza of E. Providence and Richard Mendoza of Pawtucket, three daughters, Yvonne Mendoza of W. Warwick, Connie Mendoza of Attleboro, MA, and Simmone Mendoza of E. Providence, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 10:30am from the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am in Saint Joseph Church, Walcott Street, Pawtucket. Burial with military honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Monday 5-8pm.
Mary E. (McPhillips) Mularz

Mary E. (McPhillips) Mularz, 83, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Little Sisters of the Poor, Jeanne Jugan Home, Pawtucket.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Wilde) McPhillips.
Mrs. Mularz was a lace worker in the Textile Industry for several years, retiring in 1992. She had also worked as a CNA and a volunteer at the Jeanne Jugan Home, and was also a friendly visitor.
She is survived by a son, John Mularz, her twin daughters, Edna Arundale and Mary Ann Arundale, three sisters, Anna Bricault, Dolores Bonetti, and Sister Mary Agnes, LSP, two brothers, Edward and William McPhillips, nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Claudia Donnelly. She was the sister of the late Catherine Surowiec, Patricia Caron, Joseph and John McPhillips.
The funeral will be held Friday at 9am from the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Leo The Great Church, 697 Central Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Saint Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8pm. Edmund “Ted” Bessette Sr.

Edmund “Ted” Bessette Sr., 80, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at home. He was the husband of Mary (Smith) Bessette.
Born in Pawtucket, the son of the late George and Margaret (Thurber) Bessette.
Mr. Bessette was a World War II army veteran. He was the owner operator of D & A Tire Company of Pawtucket. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Seekonk.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mary Ruszala and her husband Dennis, Debra McCaughey and her husband Gerald, and Donna Horton and her husband Robert, one son Edmund Bessette Jr and his wife Melodye, all of Pawtucket, one brother, Albert Bessette of N. Providence, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George Bessette and Dorothy Boudreau.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 8am from the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in Saint Teresa Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial with military honors will be in RI Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Friday 5-8pm. Robert J. Connelly Jr., Esq.

Robert J. Connelly Jr., Esq., 70, passed away Friday, September 26, 2008 in Pawtucket. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Lilly) Connelly. Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Vivian (Duchesneau) Connelly.
He attended St. Raphael Academy, Tabor Academy, Brown University, Boston University and Suffolk University where he obtained his law degree. He served as Clerk of the District Court, Assistant City Solicitor, Probate Judge of the City of Central Falls, long time Legal Counsel to the House Corporations Committee, and more recently he served as Of Counsel for Connelly Law Offices. He long had been active in local politics and maintained offices in Central Falls, Lincoln and Pawtucket.
He spent most of his life living in Central Falls and split his time between here and Martha's Vineyard, MA, where he enjoyed much of his time and planned to retire. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, R.J. Connelly III, Esq. and his wife Jennifer of Mystic, CT, and Major John F. Connelly III and his wife Megan of Groton, CT, one sister Patricia Buonanno and her husband Joseph of Wakefield, an aunt, Mrs. William E. Powers of Providence, and four grandchildren, Andrew, Maggie, Jack, and Palmer.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9am from the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart Church, Park Street Pawtucket. Burial will be in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8pm. Maurice P. “Dick” Chartier

Maurice P. “Dick” Chartier, 91, of Mendon Avenue, passed away Monday, September 29, 2008 at Waterview Villa, East Providence. He was the husband of Amelia (LeBlanc) Chartier. They were happily married for 69 years.
Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Vital and Georgiana (Allard) Chartier. Mr. Chartier was a baker for Arnolds Bakery of Saylesville and a manager for Dunkin Donuts of Cranston before retiring.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas Chartier of Providence, and Richard Chartier of Bristol, a daughter, Diane Preble of Somerset, MA, three brothers, Joseph, Raymond, and Charles Chartier, four sisters, Alma Magnan, Madeleine Charette, Estelle Routhier, and Lucille Labbe, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Theresa Korkuc, Rita Gouin, Jeannette Labbe, and Gerard Chartier.
The funeral will be held Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 8:30am from the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Stephen's Church, Main Street, Attleboro, MA. Leo W. Forge

Leo W. Forge, 82, of Cumberland, passed away Monday, September 29, 2008 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Mary (Ritacco) Forge. They were happily married for 47 years.
Born in Harrisville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Aurore (Jeaudoin) Forgue. He had lived in Cranston before moving to Cumberland in 1998.
He was a navy veteran of World War II and Korean War.
Mr. Forge was a retail sales supervisor for the former Gladdings and Outlet Company for several years before retiring from the Burlington Coat Factory in 1992.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Deborah Molitor and her husband Myles of Cumberland, and Cheryl Forge of New York, his granddaughter and goddaughter, Liana Molitor, two sisters, Rosemarie Kiesz and Barbara Cunha, two brothers, Lucien and Donald Forgue. He was the brother of the late Lauretta Lord, Jacqueline Keegan, Joanne Forgue and Wilfred Forge.
