William T. Prior
October 28, 2010

William T. Prior, 84, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Cecile (Daigneault) Prior. They were happily married for 55 years. Born in Blackstone, MA, he was the son of the late William and Beatrice (Cassidy) Prior.

Mr. Prior was an army veteran of World War II serving under General Patton in the 3rd Army Division, he was wounded during the war and was a recipient of a Purple Heart.

He was a sales representative for Bolton Smart Company and later worked for the US Postal Service, assigned to the Pawtucket office. He had lived in Cumberland for the last 40 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Wm. Bruce Prior of Cumberland and he also leaves his sister, Rosamond Dupont of Woonsocket. He was the brother of the late Charles A. Prior. The funeral will be held Monday, November 1, 2010 at 8:30am from the O’NEILL Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Monday 8:30am – 9:30am, prior to the Mass.

Muriel L. Boisvert
October 28, 2010

Muriel L. Boisvert, 81, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010. She was the wife of the late Roger Boisvert. Born in St. Johns, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Aline (Brunet) Vadeboncoeur.

Mrs. Boisvert was a supervisor for the former Tupperware Company, North Smithfield, retiring in 1992. She was a former member of the Woonsocket Senior Center.

She is survived by two sons, David Boisvert and his wife Gail, and Roland Boisvert, two daughters, Aline Boisvert and her partner, Kellie McIntosh and Ann Boisvert and her husband, Douglas Meunier, three brothers, Robert, Lucien, and Marcel Vadeboncoeur, a stepsister, Beatrice Ryan, and three grandchildren. She also leaves her dear friend, Barbara Meunier. She was the sister of the late Paul and Pete Vadeboncoeur.

A Service will be held Monday, November 1, 2010 at 12pm, noon in the O’NEILL Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be in Saint James Cemetery. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105, would be appreciated.

Mary A. Chartier
November 8, 2010

Mary A. Chartier, 84, of Pawtucket, passed away Monday, November 08, 2010 at Oakland Grove Nursing Home, Woonsocket. Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Margaret Adam. She had lived most of her life in Pawtucket.

Mary worked at Health-Tex for thirty three years, retiring in 1989.

She is survived by her brother, Peter Adam and his wife Pauline, a brother-in-law, Edward McDonald, several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews. She was the sister of the late Robert Adam, Agnes McDonald, Lavina Bird and her husband Henry.

The funeral will be held Friday, November 12, 2010 at 9am from the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Saint Leo The Great Church, 697 Central Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Friday 9-10:30am, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations to Beacon Hospice, One Catamore Boulevard, East Providence, RI, 02914, would be appreciated.

Lois J. McKee
November 12, 2010

Lois J. McKee, 93, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, November 12, 2010. She was the wife of the late Everett McKee. Born in Plymouth, Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Agnes (Bowen) Lord.

Mrs. McKee is survived by two sons, Richard McKee and Robert McKee; four daughters, Mary Marszalkowski, Virginia Fiore, Cecilia Burch, and Rose Chevalier, thirteen grandchildren twenty three great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She was the mother of the late Susan Pond. She was the sister of the late Quinton Lord, Amber Flint, Lillian Benson, Mary Joyce, Ernest Lord, and Merten Lord.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Monday, November 15, 2010 from 4-8pm in the O’NEILL Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland. The funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center, P.O. Box 5643, Pawtucket, RI, 02862, would be appreciated.

Blanche Samson
November 13, 2010

Blanche Samson, 88, of Providence, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010. She was the wife of Henry Samson. They were happily married for 65 years. Born in La Patrie, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Alma (Laflamme) Charron.

Mrs. Samson had lived most of her life in Providence.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Leonard Samson and his wife Mary, a daughter, Denise Walton and her husband Charles, two brothers, Lucien and Joseph Charron, three sisters, Juliette Plante, Florence Laflamme, and Bernadette Bouley.

She also leaves her gransdaughter, Kristina. She was the sister of the late Marguerite Marciniak, Rev. Leonard Charron, and Cecile Sickinger.

The funeral will be held Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 9am from the HOEY-ARPIN-WILLIAMS-KING Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 901 Atwells Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8pm.

Francis O'Connor
November 13, 2010

Francis O'Connor, 83, of Pawtucket, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010. He was the husband of Italia “Ida” (Saracina) O’Connor. They were happily married for 55 years. Born in Providence, Frank was the son of the late Michael and Rose (Cox) O’Connor.

He lived most of his life in Pawtucket. Frank graduated from Hope High School in 1945, Bryant College in 1950 and was an army veteran. Frank was general manager of CSC Paymaster of Warwick for twenty years before retiring in 1994.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Frank O’Connor Jr., and Kevin O’Connor both of Pawtucket, a daughter, Patricia Vigneau and her husband Greg of Clayville, and two grandchildren, Brenna Vigneau and Gregg Connor Vigneau.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 9am from the COSTIGAN-O’NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Leo The Great Church, 697 Central Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8pm.

Joseph A. Fournier, Sr.
November 15, 2010

Joseph A. Fournier, Sr., 88, of 84 Hendrick Street, Providence, RI, died Monday morning peacefully at home. After returning home from the Second World War, he went to work for Uniroyal in Providence and was employed there until they ceased operations in Rhode Island in early 1970s.

Born November 17, 1921, in Providence, RI, He was the son of the late Joseph H. and Annie D. (Dugas) Fournier. He was the brother of the late Norman W. Fournier and the late Raymond J. Fournier. The husband of the late Mary N. (Denisewicz) Fournier, he is survived by two son’s John D. Fournier and Thomas L. Fournier both of Providence. He was the father of the late Joseph A. Fournier Jr. Mr. Fournier was the grandfather of Anastasia M. Fournier, Thomas L. Fournier Jr. and Christina D. Fournier. A World War II Air Force veteran, he was a tail gunner/radioman on a B25 Bomber. During the height of the war, he flew on many missions over Nazi Germany.

Funeral arrangements are private. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter, RI.

Henry Samson
November 15, 2010

Henry Samson, 89, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010. He was the husband of the late Blanche (Charron) Samson, who passed away three days ago. They were happily married for 65 years. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Almanzor and Isabelle (Gendreau) Samson.

Mr. Samson served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during WWII and was an Architectural Draftsman working for Rhode Island Hospital for many years, retiring in 1986.

He is survived by a son, Leonard Samson and his wife Mary; a daughter, Denise Walton and her husband Charles. He also leaves a granddaughter Kristina. He was the brother of the late Yvette Ryder, Louis Samson and Yvonne Lafreniere.

The funeral for Mr. and Mrs. Samson will be held Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 9am from the HOEY-ARPIN-WILLIAMS-KING Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 901 Atwells Avenue, Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours TODAY, Wednesday 5-8PM. In lieu of flowers donations to the Veteran’s Transition House, Attn: Executive Director, 20 Willis Street, New Bedford, MA 02740, would be appreciated.
