GRAVETTE, Ark. — Services for Lucie Adeline Kahler, 77, will be held at 10 a.m. today in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Born in Denmark, S.C. to Earnest and Agnus Cothran Garrick, she died Dec. 8, 2004. She loved to sew, read and always kept in contact with people she met in her many years as a missionary. Surviving: sons, John, Matthew; brother, James Webster; grandchildren, John; great-grandchildren, Allison, Jennifer.

Louise Williams

WILLISTON — Services for Louise Brady Marsh Williams, 73, will be at 2 p.m. today at Williston Church of God with burial in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Folk Funeral Home is in charge. She died December 8, 2004.

Henry Moody

TRAVELERS REST — Services for Henry Moody, 75, 2 p.m. Sunday at The Howze Mortuary (visitation 7-8:30 tonight); burial: Moody-Turner-Anders Family Cemetery. Born in Pickens Co. to Henry Sr. and Etta H. Moody, he died Dec. 9, 2004. Surviving: wife, Mary Dodson Moody; children, Suzanne Rochester, Mike, Steve, Dennis Moody, Patricia Nestor; siblings, Eunice Martin, Leon Moody, Martha Finley.

Judy Branham

CAMDEN — Funeral services for Judy Branham, 65, of Camden, will be held Monday, December 13, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home Camden Chapel with burial to follow in Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Steve Lee will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2004 at Kornegay Funeral Home Camden Chapel.

Mrs. Branham died Thursday, December 9, 2004. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Margaret Blackwell Dorothy. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, George Branham; son, George S. “Bubba” Branham and his wife, A.J.; daughters, Tammy Potteiger, all of Camden, Bitsy Branham of Lugoff; grandchildren, Dale Lee Potteiger and his wife, Beth, Michael Watts, Jerrod Branham of Lugoff, Jacob, Matthew Branham of Camden and Lauren Branham of Florence, Autumn Boone of Camden; 3 great-grandchildren, Tia and Maya Benson and Blake Seals. She was predeceased by an infant son, brother, Jimmy Dorothy, sister, Pat Brannon.

Mary Stogner

MANNING — Services for Mary Margaret Pridgen Stogner, 87, widow of Thurmon Stogner, 1 p.m. Saturday at Manning First Baptist Church, burial: Manning Cemetery, visitation 6-8 tonight at Stephens Funeral Home. Born in Wilmington, N.C., to Robert and Claudia Pridgen, she died Dec. 8, 2004. Surviving: children, Thurmon Stogner Jr., Peggy Nelson, Patricia Earnhardt, Claudia Thompson; grandchildren; great-grandchildren.

Sam Frazier

ESTILL — Services with burial for Sam Perry “Jim” Frazier will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Goodwill Baptist Church; visitation 7-8 tonight at Garvin-Garvin Funeral Home. He died Dec. 7, 2004. Surviving are wife, Cora; children, Jeanette, Glen Frazier, Luester Wesley, Melvin Clark; stepson, Joe Williams; siblings, Willie Gregory, Mamie Brown, Elizabeth Housey, Bram, Roosevelt, Seaboy Frazier; more.

Herbert Crosby

COLUMBIA — Services for Deacon Herbert Lee “The Big Hat Man” Crosby, U.S. Army veteran, 2 p.m. Sunday at Fellowship Baptist Church with burial in Palmetto Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 tonight at Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home. Born in Islandton to William and Aletha Williams Crosby, he died December 8, 2004. Surviving: wife, Arnetta B. Crosby; children, Herbert Jr., Wendell, Theressa, CaSandra, Polanda, Karry; brothers; sister; grandchildren.

William Jones

COLUMBIA — Memorial services for William E. Jones, 77, will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, 2004 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Columbia, 2701 Heyward Street. A reception for friends and family will follow in the Fellowship Hall.

Mr. Jones died Thursday, December 9, 2004. Born in Chester, SC, he was the son of the late James Ellison, Jr. and Belle McDowell Jones. He earned his bachelor degree at Erskine College and his master’s degree at the University of South Carolina. He served in the United States Army from 1946-1948. After his army service he taught at Dreher High School, and later joined the staff of the S.C. Committee for Technical Education. He then worked at the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy until his retirement in 1990. For thirty years, until his health declined, Mr. Jones had been an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Columbia.

He is survived by his wife Molly McGregor Jones; sons, W. Ellison Jr., and George M. Jones; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret J. and Dr. Michael E. Garvin, COL. United States Army; sister, Isabelle J. Young; grandchildren, Paul and Lori Garvin and Jeremiah and Flannery Jones, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Palmetto Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 7044, Columbia, SC 29202, the Oliver Gospel Mission, 1100 Taylor St., Columbia, SC 29201 or to the UUFC Endowment, 2701 Heyward St., Columbia, SC 29205.

Annie Harlin

LEXINGTON — The angels were sent to take Annie R. Harlin to join her beloved husband, Clarence M. Harlin, in eternal rest December 9, 2004. She is rejoicing with God and her family in heaven. Family and friends left behind will forever feel the loss of Mrs. Harlin.

Services for Annie R. Turner Harlin, 82, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, 2004 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with burial to follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 7044, Columbia, SC 29202.

Mrs. Harlin was the daughter of the late Colie and Lizzie Snipes Turner. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Marvin E. Powell, Sr. (Ann), Wayne A. Powell, Sr. (Patsy), Eleanor P. Newell (Tom), Clent C. Harlin (Dianne), Franklin Michael C. Harlin (Fran); fifteen, grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Toon; brother, Charles Turner.

Deborah Martin

HARTSVILLE —Services for Deborah Webster Martin, 55, Progress Energy employee, Lakeview Baptist Church member, 1 pm today (noon visitation) at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home; burial: 2 pm Sunday in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Quitman, Ga. Born in Burlington, NC to Jesse and Bessie Webster, she died December 9, 2004. Surviving: son, Brian Dawson; siblings, Gail, Kim Webster; grandchildren.

Gwendolyn Livingston

COLUMBIA — Services and burial for Gwendolyn B. Livingston will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church. Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home is in charge. Born in Columbia to Louis Sr. and Mary Alice Brosia Benson, he died December 7, 2004. Surviving are husband, Van Cleveland; children, Carnell, Valarie, Felisha; mother; brothers; sisters.

Shirley Williams

POMARIA — Services and burial for Shirley Ann Hordge Williams, 64, are noon Monday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Wilson Funeral Home, Newberry, is in charge. Born in Columbus, Ohio to William and Ruby Hordge, she died Dec. 9, 2004. Surviving: children, Carey, Charles, Ernest, Tony, Jeffery, Tyrone, Homer, Mauldine Lane, Dorothea Edwards, Peggy Schles; 5 siblings; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; others.

Preston Reedy

BEAUFORT — A graveside service for Preston C. Reedy, 80, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, is 10 a.m. in Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation is 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Anderson Funeral Home. Born in Pottsville, Pa. to Jacob and Jessie Kummer Reedy, he died Dec. 9, 2004. Surviving: wife, Margaret Collins Reedy; children, Preston Jr., Rose Reedy, Patricia McCracken; three sisters; three grandchildren.

Lavern Anderson Sr.

GEORGETOWN — Services for Lavern Anderson Sr., 61, are 1 p.m. Sunday at Wilds Funeral Home. Born in Mullins to Melvin Anderson and Annie Monroe, he died December 9, 2004. Surviving are former wife, Lavonia Anderson; daughters, Ursula Grant, T’shura Eason; son, LaVern Anderson; adopted daughter, Elaine Myers; sister, Aline Smalls; brother, Jerome Anderson; companion, Jane Goings; nine grandchildren.

Sara Arias

RICHLAND, N.J. — Services and burial for Sara Marie Arias, 12, are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Queen of Angels Parish At Our Lady of Victories Church, Landisville. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. Monday and 11:15-12:15 a.m. Tuesday at Rone Funeral Service, Vineland. Born in Columbia, S.C. to Carlos and Carol Arias, she died Dec. 9, 2004. Surviving: parents; siblings, William Cummings Jr., Ariana Arias; grandparents; others.

Paul Lloyd

MULLINS — Paul Anthony Lloyd, 31, husband of Susan Rich Lloyd, died Thursday, December 9, 2004 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 13 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Kirkland ant the Rev. Bobby Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Devotion Gardens Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.

Paul was born May 13, 1973 in Miami, Florida, a son of JoAn Huggins Lloyd Huggins and James Edward Lloyd, Sr. Paul was owner and operator of Small Paws Pet Grooming.

He was a graduate of DiBacco High School in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was a member of the Spina Bifida Association. Paul was a member of Florida Garden Baptist Church and attended Mullins First Baptist Church.

Surviving Paul in addition to his wife of the home are: a son: Corbin Anthony Lloyd of the home; his mother, JoAn Huggins Lloyd Huggins and his stepfather, Thomas Huggins of Mullins; his father: James Edward Lloyd, Sr. of Miami, Florida; and 2 brothers: James Edward Lloyd, Jr. of Miami, Florida and Charles Michael Lloyd of Naples, Florida.

Memorials may be made to the Spina Bifida Association of America, 4590 MacArthur Blvd., NW, Suite 250, Washington , DC 20007-4226.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 7 till 9 P.M. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
