CAMDEN — Funeral services for Judy Branham, 65, of Camden, will be held Monday, December 13, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home Camden Chapel with burial to follow in Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Steve Lee will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2004 at Kornegay Funeral Home Camden Chapel.

Mrs. Branham died Thursday, December 9, 2004. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Margaret Blackwell Dorothy. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, George Branham; son, George S. “Bubba” Branham and his wife, A.J.; daughters, Tammy Potteiger, all of Camden, Bitsy Branham of Lugoff; grandchildren, Dale Lee Potteiger and his wife, Beth, Michael Watts, Jerrod Branham of Lugoff, Jacob, Matthew Branham of Camden and Lauren Branham of Florence, Autumn Boone of Camden; 3 great-grandchildren, Tia and Maya Benson and Blake Seals; brothers, Luther William Dorothy of Summerville and Jack Alan Dorothy of Lugoff and sister, Rebecca Ellen Dorothy of Lugoff. She was predeceased by an infant son, brother, Jimmy Dorothy, sister, Pat Brannon.

Diane Moak

ELGIN — Funeral services for Diane Dorroh Moak, 62, of Elgin, will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 13, 2004 at Blaney Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Lawrence Dennis will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM, Sunday, December 12, 2004 at Blaney Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Hospice, PO Box 7275, Columbia, SC 29202 or Kershaw County Foster Parents Association, c/0 Bill Salter, 50 Nature Lane, Elgin, SC 29045. Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Moak, wife of A.T. “Hammy” Moak, died Friday, December 10, 2004. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Rita Moore Dorroh. Mrs. Moak was co-owner of Hammy’s Barbeque. Prior to opening Hammy’s, she was a registered nurse at Providence Hospital. Mrs. Moak was a member of Blaney Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Mandy Julian and her husband, Danny, of Willow Spring, NC; son, Drew Moak of Columbia; sister, Rita Dorroh of Columbia; 2 grandchildren, Rebekah Diane Julian and Emily Gayle Julian; 8 foster children. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Dianel Moak and a brother, David Dorroh.

Katherine Bannister

COLUMBIA — Graveside services for Katherine Jackson Bannister will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday in Rosemont Cemetery, Newberry by the Rev. Dr. Hugh Lamon Moates. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 2:45 p.m. at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home of Newberry. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society c/o Helen Beebe, 181 Tailors Trail, Leesville, S.C. 29072 or to the Service Class of the First Baptist Church of Columbia, 1306 Hampton Street, Columbia.

Ms. Bannister, 78, died December 10, 2004. Born in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Cloyd Hillard and Corrie Porter Jackson. She was retired from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia where she was a member of the Service Class.

Surviving are a son, Steven P. Bannister of Center Point, Louisiana; a sister, Dr. Mozelle V. Jackson of Simpsonville; a brother, Jason Melvin Jackson of Newberry; 2 grandchildren; Steven Christopher Bannister, and Shana Michele Green, a daughter in law; Linda C. Bannister, and a number of nieces and nephews.

H. Carlisle Booth

SUMTER — H. Carlisle Booth, 95, widower of Frankie Carr Booth, died Friday, December 10, 2004 at Covenant Place.

Born in Sumter he was a son of the late J.P. Booth, Sr. and Hattie Fraser Booth.

Mr. Booth was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was retired from the Bureau of Aeronautics Avionics Division of the United States Navy in Washington , D.C. He was a graduate of Boys High School in Sumter and Clemson College. He received a masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering from North Carolina State University.

Surviving are four nephews, Phil Booth, III, John S. Creech and Ladson B. Chandler, all of Sumter and Dan Etheredge of Elloree, S.C.; two nieces, Bettie Ann Klapthor and Hassie Nelson, both of Sumter; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 3 PM Monday in the Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Stephen Taylor officiating.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Creech, 349 Winn St.

Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 226 W. Liberty St., Sumter, SC 29150.

Venice Burgess

LEXINGTON — Celebration of Life for Venice Austin Burgess, 90, will be held Monday, December 13, 2004, at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Columbia, Boyce Chapel with private burial to follow. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 5:00 PM Sunday, December 12, 2004 at the home of Wayne and Barbara Damron, 921 Corley Mill Road, Lexington. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Columbia. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is in charge.

Mrs. Burgess died Saturday, December 11, 2004. Born in Greer, SC, she was the wife of the late Jeff Burgess and the daughter of the late James William and Lena Creamer Austin. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Wayne Damron of Lexington; grandchild and spouse, Steve and Teresa Damron of Woodstock, GA; great-grandchildren, Phillip and Patricia Damron of Woodstock, GA; grandchild and spouse, Rick and Carolin Damron of Milford, NH and great-grandchildren, Emily and Austin Damron of Milford, NH; sister, Connie Sipe of Conover, NC and brother, Bill Austin of Greer, SC.

She was predeceased by sister, Katherine and brothers, Harrison, Marshall, Ralph and Fred. The family wishes to thank the staff of Intermedical Hospital and Drs. March Seabrook, Anthony Elkins, and William Korman.

Joan Brown

COLUMBIA — Service for Joan Delores Brown, 72, will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mrs. Brown died Wednesday, December 8, 2004. Born in East Chicago, Ind., she was the daughter of Helen Boda and the late Joseph Boda. She was of the Catholic faith.

A loving mother, Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, George H. Brown; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Janet Brown of Ballentine, Robert and Diane Brown of Chesterton, Ind. and David Brown of Kissimmee, Fla.; her mother of Arizona; brother and sister-in-law, William and Linda Boda of Arizona; granddaughter, Valarie Brown of Chesterton, Ind. She was predeceased by her loving son, Terrence Brown.

Mary Ann Carnes

COLUMBIA — Service for Mary Ann Carnes, 64, will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Sand Hill Heights Baptist Church Cemetery, Elgin. Memorials may be made to Gift of Life Transplant House, Rochester, Minn. Visitation will be Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carnes, wife of the late Lewis Judson Carnes, died Friday, December 10, 2004. Born in DuBois, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Alderetta Johnson Bokoski. She was a sales associate, retired from WalMart and a member of Sand Hill Heights Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughters, Karen “Kasey” Carnes of Columbia and Linda Jean Henrickson and her husband, Dewey, of Yakima, Wash.; brother, David Brochey of Upland, Calif.; and grandson, David Henrickson.

Evelyn Campbell

CHESTERFIELD — Mrs. Evelyn Hunt Campbell, 86, died Friday, December 10, 2004. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 12, 2004 at Hopewell Baptist Church with burial in Chesterfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM Sunday, prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Campbell was born in Chesterfield County, a daughter of the late Henry James and Lillie Boan Hunt. She was a former employee of Sacony and Chesterfield County Council on Aging. Mrs. Campbell was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church where she was a former Choir member, Sunday School Teacher, and Children’s Sermon helper. Evelyn loved music and enjoyed writing poetry. She was married to the late Uzell Campbell and was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Campbell, 5 brothers, Tommy, Clyde, Boyce, Farley “Buck” and Charles Hunt, and by 5 sisters, Viola Eddins, Thelma McLaurin, Lula Chewning, Mildred Lee, and Cleon “Kee” Hamby.

Survivors: 7 nieces and 3 nephews.

Memorials: Hopewell Baptist Church “Music Dept.,” 15066 Hwy. 9, Chesterfield, SC 29709.

Reginald Craft

COLUMBIA — Homegoing service for Reginald E. “Zeb” Craft, Sr. of Columbia, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Palmetto Cemetery.

Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home, 2930 Colonial Drive is in charge.

Mr. Craft died Dec. 9. Born in Columbia, he was the son of Raymond and Annie Mae Heller Craft. He was a graduate of Dreher High School, and employed with Embassy Suites Hotel.

Surviving are his wife, Vivian Pugh Craft; children, Reginald II, Erica, & Chrystal Craft; siblings, Raymond, Otis, Carlee, Robert, Beatrice, Yvonne Draft & Jacqueline Boyd.

Charley Folk Sr.

NEWBERRY — Service for Charley David Folk, Sr., 64, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, Ballentine, with burial in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Bunnell, Tom Lewis, James Shealy, Wayne Hudson, Richard Stone and Jeff Simms. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shady Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund. Visitation will be Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo.

Mr. Folk died Friday, December 10, 2004. Born in Irmo, he was the son of the late David William “Moses” Folk and Mattie Irene Rister Folk. He was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church and an avid fisherman. He was a loving husband, father and papa.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Folk; sons and daughters-in-law, Charley D., Jr. and Sandra Faye Folk of Pomaria and Daniel William and Janice Shawn Folk of Newberry; daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene and Richard Stone of Gaston and Tammy and Joseph Nathaniel Spires of Newberry; sister, Julia Springfield of Greensboro, N.C.; grandchildren, Ronald Northcutt, Billy Walker, Jr., Johnny Walker, William Walker, Cromer Spires, Allen Spires, Heather Spires, Jenna Folk, Mary Beth Folk and Steven Folk; great-grandchildren, Tandice Northcutt and Brian Walker; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, David Allen Folk; sisters, Thelma Hicks, Ellis Folk, Polly Jane Harrell, Edna Clark, Eva Lever and Mamie Brown; brother, Alton Folk; and granddaughter, Mattie Northcutt.
