MURRELLS INLET — Gladys Eaddy Hughes, 83, of Berkeley Court, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Garden Manor.
She was born Oct. 18, 1918, in Hemingway, a daughter of the late Willie and Lou Perry Eaddy.
She was the widow of Remear Hughes.
She was a member of Belin United Methodist Church. She was a waitress at Lee's Inlet Kitchen for 30 years.
Survivors include a sister, Ola Eaddy Hughes of Murrells Inlet, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Dale Hughes; six brothers; and four sisters.
The funeral will be will be at 11 a.m. today at Belin United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Belin Memorial Cemetery.

PAWLEYS ISLAND — Moses Hunt, 71, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Wilma H. Jolly
PORT ROYAL — Wilma Hucks Jolly, 79, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at home.
She was born Aug. 12, 1922, in Hunter Siding, Ga., a daughter of the late David Sparkman and Mattie Louise Williams Hucks. She grew up in Aynor and graduated from Aynor High School. She recently moved to Port Royal from Charleston. She was a master gardener, nature lover, homemaker and loving wife and mother. She was a founding member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. A devout Methodist, she was a member of the church for more than 40 years.
Survivors include her husband, Aubrey Lee Jolly; a son, Michael Dewayne Jolly and his wife, Debra Jolly, of Port Royal; her twin sister, Thelma Singleton of Conway; two sisters, Letitia Dudley of North Myrtle Beach and Eloise Causey of Surfside Beach; two brothers, David Sparkman Hucks Jr. of Conway and Collin Hucks of Aynor; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild.
She was predeceased by a son, Aubrey Tolliver Jolly.
The funeral was at Cokesbury United Methodist Church on Jan. 5. Burial was in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

Bernard D. Katz
MYRTLE BEACH — Bernard David Katz, 80, of South Lake Trail, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002.
He was born April 3, 1921, in Roanoke, Va., a son of the late Isaac and Esther Shapiro Katz.
He came to Myrtle Beach in 1983 from Roanoke, where he had owned and operated the Southern Pawn Shops. He was a Navy Seabees veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn J. Aarons Katz; two sons, Stuart I. Katz of Salem, Va., and Martin F. Katz of Herndon, Va.; a daughter, Lora J. Katz of Gaithersburg, Md.; a brother, Sol Katz of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Freda Kessler of Silver Spring, Md.; and a grandson, Benjamin Katz.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. today at Beth Israel Cemetery, Roanoke, Va. Rabbi Manes Kogan will officiate.

Morton Meyer
SPRINGFIELD, Va. — Morton Meyer, 84, formerly of Mount Gilead Place, Murrells Inlet, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002.
Survivors include his wife, Miriam; two sons, Steven and his wife, Fran, of Philadelphia, and Robert and his wife, Brenda, of Herndon, Va.; a daughter, Eileen Isaacson; six grandchildren; and a niece.
The funeral will be Saturday at the United Christian Parish, 11180 Ridge Heights Road, Reston, Va.
