Visitation is 6-8 tonight at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home. He died Dec. 25, 2004. Surviving: wife, Rebecca James; children, Kiebler James, Barbara Hopkins, Becky Dilleshaw, Debbie Murell; siblings, Bobby, Rufus James, Jean Davenport; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

Powell McCall

HODGES — A graveside service for Robert Powell McCall, 75, is 3 p.m. Tuesday in Oakbrook Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation is 2-3 p.m. Tuesday at Oakbrook Memorial Park Family Center. Blyth Funeral Home, Greenwood, is in charge. Born in Mullins to Daniel and Rachel Powell McCall, he died Dec. 25, 2004. Surviving are wife, Nancy Henderson McCall; 2 daughters; 2 siblings; 3 grandchildren.

SPARTANBURG — Services with burial for Lenna White Meek, 96, widow of Franklin Meek, are 3 p.m. Tuesday at New Hope UMC, where she was a member. S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home, Union, is in charge. Born in Jonesville to Daniel and Vienna White, she died Dec. 26, 2004. She had retired with Louries Clothing Store, Columbia. Surviving are siblings, Vera Gault, Irene Gregory, Robert White; nieces; nephews.

CHESTER — A graveside service for Martha Childers Nichols, 55, widow of Grady Nichols, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Lockhart Cemetery. Visitation is 7-9 tonight at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home, Union. Born in Union Co. to Vernon and Helen McSwain Childers, she died Dec. 25, 2004. Surviving are father; siblings, Mary Lanier, Melinda, Tommy Childers; 3 nephews; caregivers, Doris Beam, Patti Stewart.

Andrew Richardson Sr.

NEWBERRY — Services for Andrew Richardson Sr. are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Pratt Funeral Home with burial in Werts Cemetery. F.B. Pratt & Son Funeral Home is in charge. Born in Saluda to Andrew Richardson and Florence Jones, he died Dec. 21, 2004. Surviving are wife, Atheal Gallman Richardson; daughter, Ann Richardson; sons, Andrew Jr., Timothy, Henry, Tyrone Richardson; two siblings 15 grandchildren; others.

Eddie Richardson

WINNSBORO — Services for Eddie Richardson are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Blackjack Baptist Church; burial in Greensboro, N.C. Visitation is 6-8 tonight at Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home. Born in Fairfield Co. to Ulease and Ella Richardson, he died Dec. 21, 2004. Surviving: sister, Hattie Huntley; stepdaughter, Hattie Henderson; children, Ella, Hattie, Linda, Eddie Richardson Jr.; others.

Mary Wyatt

COLUMBIA — Service for Mary Frances Wyatt, 66, will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Olympia Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Palmetto Richland Children’s Hospital. Visitation will be Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wyatt, wife of the late James E. Wyatt, died Friday, December 24, 2004. Born in Neeses, she was a daughter of the late Dalton Leroy and Rosa B. Fulmer Brayboy.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas H. and Donna Brayboy of North and Kenneth D. and Lynn Ward of Columbia; daughter, Tina M. Wyatt-Swygert of Columbia; son, Ray Lee Richardson, Jr. of Columbia; sister, Jewel Whitworth of Marietta, Ga.; brother, James L. Brayboy of Columbia; sister, Sylvia Hancock of Gaston; and grandchildren, Tiffany Swygert, Thomas H. Brayboy, Jack Brayboy and Daniel Ward. She was predeceased by son, James F. Brayboy, brother, Charles Brayboy; sisters, Louise Blondell, Darnell Hornsby, Dorothy Brayboy and Mildred Williams; and lifelong companion, Ray L. Richardson.

YORK — A graveside service for Darby White Jones, 96, widower of Ola M. Jones, 2 p.m. Wednesday in Lakeview Memory Gardens; visitation 6-8 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home. Born in York Co. to Mary Jones, he died Dec. 26, 2004. He was a mechanic, farmer, and member of Central Baptist Church. Surviving: children, Alice Hartness, Lewis, John Morrison; 8 grandchildren; 11 great and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Elzie Ashworth

CATAWBA — Services for Elzie Horace Ashworth, 66, are 2:30 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, Rock Hill; burial in Grandview Memorial Park, Cherry Road. Born in Rockingham, N.C., to Charles and Goalie Ashworth, he died Dec. 25, 2004. Surviving are wife, Audrey G. Ashworth; daughter, Donna Ashworth; brother, William Ashworth; grandchildren, Crystal, Dawn, Nikki, Marcus.

Robert Barnes

EUTAWVILLE — Services for Robert Lee Barnes are 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Missionary Baptist Church; burial: Heyden Hill Cemetery. Eutawville Community Funeral Home is in charge. Born in Summerville to Lucilla Turner and reared by William and Lydia Barnes, she died Dec. 24, 2004. Surviving: wife, Jannie; sons, Robert Jr., Thomas; grandchildren, Robert, Michia, Shaquanna Barnes; mother; more.

Harry Mazyck

TIMMONSVILLE — Harry Broughton Mazyck, 96, died December 26, 2004, at his home in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born in Rowesville, SC, a son of the late Harry B. Mazyck, Sr. and Hurteline Robinson Mazyck. He moved to Timmonsville, SC, with his parents at an early age and was a member of Timmonsville Presbyterian Church. He was educated in the Timmonsville schools and Clemson College. He served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II. He was a retired employee of Consolidated-Edison in New York City. He was a member of Clemson IPTAY and a supporter of the Clemson Football team.

Surviving are: his sister-in-law, June C. Mazyck, Winston-Salem, NC; a nephew, Ted (Diane) Mazyck, Clemmons, NC; two nieces, Ann (Charles) Dillon, Atlanta, GA, and Jayne B. Mazyck, Reidsville, NC; a great nephew, Edward H. Mazyck, III; two great nieces, Catherine Dillon and Caroline Mazyck; and a special friend, Sarah S. Layton, Timmonsville. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward H. Mazyck, Sr.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, 4210 W. Palmetto Street, Florence, SC. Interment will be in Byrd Cemetery in Timmonsville. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service.

Eartha Brown

ORANGEBURG — Services for Eartha L. Brown, 82, widow of James Brown, are 1 p.m. Wednesday (visitation 11 a.m.-9 p.m. today) at Simmons Funeral Home; burial in Heavenly Rest Memorial Cemetery, Cordova. Born in Orangeburg Co. to David and Estelle Hampton, she died Dec. 22, 2004. Surviving: sons, James Jr., William, Wille, Walter Brown; siblings, Elease Baxter, Sarah Garner, Malakiah Hampton.

Isaac Bolden Jr.

SUMTER — Services with burial for Isaac “Dilly” Bolden Jr., 67, are 2 p.m. Wednesday (viewing 1 p.m.) at High Hills Baptist Church. Williams Funeral Home is in charge. Born in Sumter Co. to Isaac Sr. and Harriett Bolden, he died Dec. 23, 2004. Surviving: children, Charles McDuffie, James, Shirl Bolden; siblings, Ellen Battle, Louise Lomack, Estelle Mayes, Joseph Bolden; 1 aunt; 2 uncles; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.

John Collins Sr.

YORK — Services with burial for John “Johnny” Ervin Collins Sr., 52, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Vision Freewill Baptist Church, Rock Hill; visitation 6-8 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home. Born in York to Samuel and Gladys Collins, he died Dec. 26, 2004. Surviving: wife, Betty Collins; children, Denise Meyer, Johnny Collins Jr., Juanita Grainger; siblings, Rev. Larry, Mike, Ronnie, Patrica, Brenda, Vicky.

Elma Carson

NORTH — Elma Livingston Carson, 80, of North, died Monday, December 27, 2004.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at North United Methodist Church with Rev. Samuel Warwick officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

Mrs. Carson was born in Livingston, a daughter of the late Archie Livingston and the late Louise McMichael Davis. She was a member of North United Methodist Church. She was married to the late Herbert Doyle Carson. She was predeceased by a daughter, Cathy Carson. She retired from Stone Manufacturing after 30 years of services.

Survivors include: four daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Ray Livingston, of Columbia, Mary Ann and Jimmy Ray Smith, and Amanda and Lyman Fogle, all of North, Dolly C. Zeigler, of Orangeburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Doyle and Patty Carson, of North; a sister, Mrs. Ina Ellis, of Orangeburg; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to North United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 306, North, SC 29112.
