Polly Batson
GREENVILLE -- Polly Jordan Rogers Batson, 89, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Prince George Nursing Home in Georgetown.
She was born Jan. 3, 1914, in Murrells Inlet, a daughter of Sidney Thompson Jordan and John Miller Jordan.
She was a 1931 graduate of Socastee High School. She later went to Conway School of Nursing, where she graduated as a registered nurse in 1937. She practiced private-duty nursing for two years.
After moving to Greenville in 1939, she became an active member of San Souci Baptist Church.
In 1986, she moved back to Murrells Inlet to live with her son and his family. While living there, she became active at Murrells Inlet First Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her husbands Howard D. Rogers Sr. and Stanley Batson; and three brothers, Albert, Sidney and Tommy Jordan, all of Murrells Inlet.
Survivors include a son, Howard D. Rogers Jr. and his wife, Diana Koutsky Rogers, of Murrells Inlet; a grand-daughter, Paige Rogers Constantino of Greer; a stepdaughter, Jean Batson Turner of Ottawa, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Dot Jordan of Murrells Inlet; and a nephew, Cy Armstrong of Greenville.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. today in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Nina M. Chatfield
MYRTLE BEACH -- Nina Mobley Chatfield, 90, widow of Garland E. Chatfield, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 2, 1912, in Sandy Hook, Ky., a daughter of the late Harris T. and Laura Jane Davis Mobley.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Jeffrey L. Chatfield.
Survivors include her son, Jim T. Chatfield and his wife, Karen, of Myrtle Beach; and a grandchild, Tami L. Chatfield.
Services will be Friday in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashland, Ky.
McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach is in charge of local services.

CONWAY -- Gladys Geneva Gore Collins, 74, of Boggy Road, widow of Billy Collins, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at McLeod Regional Medical Center after an illness.

GEORGETOWN -- Josephine Dennison, 81, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

James Gore
LORIS -- James Gore, 71, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at Conway Medical Center after an illness.
Survivors include two daughters, Gwendolyn Bellamy of Loris and Gloria Gore of Atlanta; and a brother, Theldon Green of Loris.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Flag Patch Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Flag Patch Cemetery.

Richard D. Harrelson Jr.
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH -- Richard D. Harrelson Jr., 33, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003.
He was born Feb. 16, 1969, a son of Richard D. and Elizabeth Mitchell Harrelson Sr.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Jodi Harkins Harrelson; and a son, Steven Harkins.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Lee Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Dr. Harold Mitchell will officiate.

MULLINS -- Willie Allsbrook Hinson died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003.

Sammy Hucks
CONWAY -- Sammy Hucks, 66, of Hucks Road, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Conway Medical Center.
He was born in Horry County, a son of the late Charley Dusenbury and Laura Jane Jordan Hucks.
He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Horry County Public Works.
He was predeceased by a brother, Carl Hucks; and three sisters, Clara Ellis, Katie Belle Milligan and Louise Peyton.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Mae Hucks, of Conway; a son, Sammy Mac Hucks and his wife, Wanda, of Loris; a daughter, Gloria Hucks-Black and her husband, Allen, of Conway; five grandchildren, Audra Kelly Black, Laura Allison Black and Barrett Black, all of Conway, Chris Kelly Hucks and Samuel Brett Hucks, of Loris; a great-grandchild, Taylor; a brother, Kirby Hucks of Conway; three sisters, Cecil Johnson, Bernice Jones and Rosella Carroll, all of Conway.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Good Hope Baptist Church. The Rev. Van Loomis and Dr. Jeff Dunn will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
