Heather P. Squires

MURRELLS INLET -- Heather Pauline Squires, 15, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, after injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

She was a daughter of John Keith Squires and Kathleen Rose O'Connell, both of Myrtle Beach.

She attended Calvary Christian School, where she was a 10th-grader and a member of the softball team. She was a volunteer with the American Heart Association and worked part time at Admirals Flag Ship. She also attended Socastee United Methodist Church confirmation classes and worked with the church nursery.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include a brother, Jonathan Keith Squires of Myrtle Beach; a sister, Madison Nicole Squires of Myrtle Beach; her maternal grandmother, Dolores O'Connell of Myrtle Beach; her paternal grandparents, John M. and Ina M. Squires of Murrells Inlet; and nine cousins, Ashlynn O'Connell, Chelsea Smith, Jill and Christina Stevens, Kaitlin and Jimmy Murray, James and John Jordan and Taylor Suggs.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Goldfinch Funeral Home, beach chapel.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Socastee United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Christian School, 4511 Dick Pond Road, Myrtle Beach, SC.

Sarah P. Steagall

FLORENCE -- Sarah Perkins Steagall, 77, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, in a local hospital after an illness.

She was born in Hartsville, a daughter of the late Beverly James and Susie Register Perkins. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School class. She was retired from the S.C. Office of the Inspector General.

She was the widow of William Paul Steagall Jr.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Hauschildt and her husband, Paul, of Minneapolis; four granddaughters, Leslie Hunter and her husband, Herb, Heather Bowar and her husband, James, Ashley Steagall and Katie Hauschildt; a great-granddaughter, Teagan Bowar; a great-grandson, Joshua Bowar; and a sister, Sue Evans of Lexington.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Waters-Powell Funeral Home in Florence.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Robert E. 'Bob' Vaughn

SUPPLY, N.C. -- Robert Ervin "Bob" Vaughn, 71, of Gill Net Avenue, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at home.

Arrangements will be announced by Brunswick Funeral Service and Crematory in Shallotte, N.C.

Robert F. Vehec Sr.

MURRELLS INLET -- Robert Francis Vehec Sr., 60, of Blackmoor, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at home after an illness.

Arrangements will be announced by Goldfinch Funeral Home, beach chapel.

Munnerlyn Wilbur

PAWLEYS ISLAND -- Munnerlyn Wilbur, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003.

Survivors include his wife, Florence Munnerlyn; and three sisters, Mattie Coles, Gladys Smith and Daisy Tegues.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Wilds Funeral Home in Georgetown is in charge.

Carol S. Catlett

CONWAY -- Carol Sue Catlett, 59, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at home.

She was born Sept. 20, 1943, in Adrian, Mich., a daughter of Bette T. Randolph Kitchen and the late Charles A. Berry and his wife, Edna.

She was predeceased by a son, Edmond J. Catlett.

She was an accountant and was a former employee of Hall Development, Furr and Henshaw Law Firm and Myrtle Beach National Golf. She was a consultant for Mary Kay and a former member of the American SIDS Institute and American Women's Association. Prior to moving to Myrtle Beach, she was associated with Collins Moving Systems and Burlington Clinic in Kokomo, Ind.

Survivors, in addition to her mother of Manitou Beach, Mich., include her husband, Edmond Catlett Jr. of Myrtle Beach; two daughters, Lareina Catlett and her fiance, Robert White, of Myrtle Beach and Darlene Heyer of Fayetteville, N.C.; a sister, Vickie Grohoski of Frederick, Md.; four brothers, Ralph Berry of Germantown, Tenn., Charles Berry of Brooklyn, Mich., Stephen Kitchen of Addison, Mich., and David Kitchen of Manitou Beach; and three grandchildren, Kaci Lake and Kory and Garret Heyer.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Ken Timmermann will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Melton W. Chestnut

WAMPEE -- Melton William Chestnut, 54, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Seacoast Medical Center after an illness.

He was born in the Popular community of Horry County, a son of the late Elbert and Lydia Vaught Chestnut.

Survivors include a daughter, Shanda Chestnut; two stepdaughters, Joan and Victoria Fisher; four sisters, Mable Smith, Catherine Parker, Leverne Hill and Vanslee Farrar; five brothers, Thelton, James Olin, Zelbert, Ray and Roy Chestnut; four grandchildren; and a special friend, Addie Livingston.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Popular AME Church. Burial will be in Chesterfield Cemetery.

Latimer's Funeral Home is in charge.

Estalene L. Collins

LORIS -- Estalene Lewis Collins, 84, of Highway 66 West, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Gorman Simon Lewis Sr. and Lula Martin Lewis.

She was a member of Bayboro Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Gorman Lewis and Ashley "Ike" Lewis.

Survivors include a son, Jack D. Collins of Loris; a daughter, Lucille Becht of Osco, Ill.; four brothers, Bill Lewis, Wesley Lewis and Jim Lewis, all of Loris, and Henry Lewis of Conway; a sister, Alberta Johnson of Loris; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bayboro Baptist Church. The Rev. Paul Alford will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Bayboro Baptist Church, 3901 Green Sea Road, Aynor, SC 29511.
