Ida E. Hardee

CONWAY -- Ida E. McNeil Hardee, 89, wife of the late Fred G. Hardee, of Lee's Landing Circle, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003 at Conway Medical Center following an illness.

Mrs. Hardee was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Edward H. "Dixie" and Wilbur Lenora Watts McNeil. She was a Lifelong member of Salem United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Sunshine Ladies. Mrs. Hardee worked at Conway Hospital from 1955 to 1984 and worked on the family farm before retirement. She graduated from Conway High School and cared for many sick and injured in her home throughout her lifetime.

Surviving are two sons, James P. Hardee and his wife Kathleen Richardson Hardee of Conway and Fred G. Hardee, Jr. and his wife Sandra McCowan Hardee of Great Falls, S.C.; one daughter Elizabeth Hardee Lewis and her husband Carlisle E. Lewis of Conway; one sister Hilda McNeil Bookhart of Springfield, S.C., five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed. Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery, directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be sent to Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O John Kennedy, 2740 Lee's Landing Circle, Conway, SC 29526.

Tuyet T. Hennessey

MYRTLE BEACH -- Tuyet Thi "Snow" Hennessey, 50, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003 at her home.

She was born Sept. 19, 1953, in Vietnam, a daughter of Nguyen Van Hai and the late Nguyen Thi Sau. She was employed by the Landmark Resort Hotel in Myrtle Beach.

Survivors include: her daughter, Le Nguyen, owner and operator of Le Nails and her fiancee Jo Dinh of Myrtle beach; two sisters, Nguyen Thi Mai and Nguyen Thi My Phong.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert "Bob" Hennessey. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Ocean Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grand Strand Funeral Home.

John T. Hope

PAWLEYS ISLAND -- Mrs. John T. McDonald Hope, 93, of Pawleys Island died Tuesday, Sept. 23 in Waccamaw Hospital, Murrells Inlet.

Mrs. Hope was born Oct. 31, 1909 in Hartsville, daughter of Daniel and Julia Alice Sowell McDonald. She was the widow of William Herbert Hope Jr. of Rock Hill.

A graduate of Kershaw High School and Winthrop College, she and her husband made their home in Rock Hill. She was member of St. John's united Methodist Church, charter member of the Woman's Society of Christian Service, Euepian Club and volunteer for the American Red Cross and York County Nature Museum.

After her husband's death in 1982, she made her home at the Westminster Towers in Rock Hill. The last five years, she made her home at The Lakes at Litchfield, Pawleys Island. She was an associate member of St. Paul's Waccamaw United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter; Carole Hope Magann, son-in-law, Wilford F. Magann, and grandson, William John Hope Magann of Mt. Gilead, Pawleys Island. Other survivors include nieces and nephews, Dr. Harold Dixon Stalvey and Elizabeth, of Pawleys Island; Alice Turner Norris, of Isle of Palms; Betty Sue McDonald, of Greenville; Erskine Butler McDonald and Tonita, of Camilla, Ga.; Richard Arthur McDonald and Loretta, of Lake Wylie.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26 at St. John's United Methodist Church, Rock Hill with Dr. Tim McClendon and Rev. Roger Gramling officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bass and Cauthen Funeral Home, Heckle Blvd. Location in Rock Hill, S.C.

Memorials may be sent to St. John's Center, St. Johns United Methodist Church, Rock Hill; York County Hospice; American Red Cross; or a charity of one's choice.

Billy C. Jeffords

FLORENCE -- William Covington "Billy" Jeffords, 60, died suddenly at home on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003 after a courageous battle with heart disease.

He was born in Florence, a son of the late Thomas L. "Dickie" Jr. and Virginia Covington Jeffords. He graduated from McClenaghan High school in 1961 and was a retired businessman and broker/realtor.

He was a member of Seaside Community Church in Murrells Inlet. He was active in sports with his sons a baseball coach and 1984 served as president of the Pee Dee State Bankers Pony Baseball League. He was also a member of the Swamp Fox Power Squadron.

He was a kind, loving husband and father dedicated to h is wife, children, and precious granddaughter. His greatest joy in life was his love for the Lord and for his family. He was selfless man always putting the needs of others above his own and always joyously witnessing to others.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Gwynne Pettigrew Jeffords of Florence; three sons, William C. "Will" (and Margo) Jeffords Jr. of Durham, N.C., Lee Muldrow ( and Ashley Love ) Jeffords of Charleston, and Michael Andrew "Andy" Jeffords of Florence; a brother, T.L. "Tommy" (and Linda) Jeffords III of Florence; a granddaughter, Grayson "Gracie" Jeffords of Durham, N.C.; and two nephews, Roy (Karen) Jeffords of Florence, and Wade Jeffords of Asheville, N.C.; and his beloved dog, Fletcher.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Pee Dee, 555 E. Cheves St., Florence, S.C. 29506; or to the Florence Area Humane Society, 1007 Stockade Drive, Florence, S.C. 29501.

Denise A. McCullen

MYRTLE BEACH -- Denise Ann McCullen, 41, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003. Arrangements will be announced by McMillan-Small Funeral Home.

Heyward G. Morris

CONWAY -- Heyward G. Morris, 76, or Oak Street, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003 at his residence. Arrangements will be announced by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.

Mary A. Pavlakos

DAYTON, OHIO -- Mary A. Pavlakos, 87, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike in 1960. Survivors are: her sons and daughters-in law; Nick and Bonnie of Ariz., Connie and Joanne of S.C., George and Susan of Ohio, and Chris and Jeannie of Ohio; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26 at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Dayton, Ohio with Father Mark P. Emroll officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Marker and Heller Funeral Home, Dayton, Ohio.

Jorden A. Pyecha

LITTLE RIVER -- Jorden A. Pyecha, 17, died Sept. 22, 2003 at Grand Strand Regional Medial Center.

Born in Wilmington, N.C., she is the daughter of George Pyecha of Wilmington and Charlene Compton Hegeman of Little River.

Survivors other than her parents include: two sisters, Tiffany Fowler and Jessica Pyecha, both of Little River; her maternal grandmother Helen Eller of Sanford, N.C.; her paternal grandparents, John and Helen Pyecha of Chapel Hill, N.C.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25 at Beulah Baptist Church at 670 Hickman Road, N.W., Hwy 57, Calabash, N.C. Lee Funeral Home and Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach is serving the family.
