Robert W. Stone

LITTLE RIVER -- Robert W. Stone, 85, of Little River, husband of Claire M. Stone, died Sunday, May 1, 2005 at Myrtle Beach Manor.

He was born in Barrow-in-Furness, England, on Jan. 26, 1920, the only son of the late John W. Stone and Elizabeth Welch Stone, and came to the United States in 1929. He was educated in the Newark, N.J. public schools. He was a former bus driver for Public Service Coordinated Transport in Elizabeth, N.J., and later owned and operated his own trucking business in Elizabeth, from which he retired in 1989. He and his wife moved to South Carolina in 1991.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three sons, Robert W. Stone Jr. (wife Barbara), Mark J. Stone (wife, Maureen) of N.J. and Gary M. Stone (wife, Kathy) of Carson City, Nev.; three daughters, Elizabeth W. Adam of Lutz, Fla., Kathryn Stone of West Chester, Ohio; and Suzan Biondi (husband, Tom) of Monroe Township, N.J.; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and several cousins in England.

He was predeceased by a son, William D. Martin, and a sister, Gladys, who died before he was born.

No services are planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kind Care Animal Hospital, 3357 Hwy. 9 E., Little River, S.C. 29566.

Philip W. Waugh

MYRTLE BEACH -- Philip W. Waugh, 80, husband of Jeannine Fowler Waugh, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. McMillan-Small Funeral Home of Myrtle Beach will announce funeral arrangements.

Cecil R. Wiessner

WEATHERLY, Pa. -- Cecil R. Wiessner, 77, of East Main St. Weatherly, formerly of East High St. Coaldale passed away in her home Monday evening, May 2, 2005.

Born in Olanta, Florence Co., S.C. she was the daughter of the late John & Sallie (Nettles) Wilkes. Cecil was a member of Coaldale United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement she was an LPN at Coaldale State Hospital and also did private duty nursing.

She was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. She lived her life with dignity and grace, and despite her battle with rheumatoid arthritis, found comfort in her strong faith in God. She was an amazing and loving mom-mom and will be sadly missed and forever loved by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Luther, Theodore Donald, Caleb, Eustil and Charles William Wilkes ( who was MIA in Korea).

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, John F. Wiessner Jr.; daughters, Margaret, wife of Phil Jeffries, Weatherly, Pa.; Mary, wife of Mark Lesko, Scranton, Pa.; brothers and sisters; Gladys (Mrs. Richard) Ard, Nita (Mrs. J.A. ) Beard and J.W. Wilkes, all of Olanta, and brother, Ruhe Wilkes of Easley.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Lisa Winheld, Amy Lintz and husband, Dr. Scott Lintz, of Briarcliffe Acres, Myrtle Beach, Mark and Mara Lesko, and great-grandchildren, Olivia Winheld, Lucas Lesko and Kreider Lintz, along with many nieces and nephews.

Services will be at the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home Weatherly on Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Sky-View Memorial Park Hometown, Pa. Visitation, Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Coaldale United Methodist Church c/o Jay Hoffman 260 Skyline Drive Lehighton, Pa. 18235 or to Hospice of the Visiting Nurse Association of St. Lukes, 108 W. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, Pa. 18240.

The Bomberger-Lesko Funeral Home of Scranton, Pa. and the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home of Weatherly, Pa. are in charge of arrangements.

Bonnie Faye Bryant

CONWAY -- Ms. Bonnie Faye Bryant, age 53, of Ole Pireway Road, departed this life on Monday, May 23, 2005, following an extended illness.

Ms. Bryant, the daughter of the late Mr. Sam Tanker and Ora Dean Anderson Bryant, was born Aug. 10, 1951 in Horry County, South Carolina. She attended Horry County Schools. Bonnie also attended Coastal Carolina College, graduating with an Associates Degree. Accepting Christ early in life, she joined Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She served in the United States Army in 1974 to 1976 during the Vietnam Conflict.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Millicent "Millie" Bryant; one son, Brian Joseph "BJ" Bryant, both of Conway; two sisters, Queen Esther (Rubin) Young of Bridgeport, Conn., and Pastor Bernita (James) Livingston of Longs; three brothers, Sylvester (Cynthia) Bryant of Altus, Okla., Allen (Martha) Byrant of Bridgeport, Conn. and Deacon Samuel (Patricia) Bryant of Loris; two sisters-in-law, Delores Ann Bryant, and Frances Bryant, both of Conway; four aunts, Annie Mae Bryant, Myrtle Pernell, Snowrie (James) Woodard and Earlene (Woodrow) Henry, all of Conway; two special cousins, Patricia (Bubba Tudda) Deas and Mary Ann (James) Harriott, both of Conway; a close cousin and friend, Cindy Ann Booth of Conway; a close friend, Maxine Bellamy of Conway; a special friend, Mary Housand, of Conway, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday evening, May 28, from 5 until 9 p.m., Sunday morning, from 9 a.m. until noon at the McKiever Funeral Home Chapel in Conway, and from 1 to 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1472 Highway 905. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. The interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Services have been entrusted to McKiever Funeral Home, Inc. of Conway.

Dottie Holland

GALIVANTS FERRY -- Dottie Holland, age 54, wife of John D. Holland, of White Oak Lane, died Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at Conway Medical Center.

Mrs. Holland was born in Troy, Ohio, a daughter of the late Chris N. and Ruth Copeland Hansen. She served as Executive Vice President for the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce from June 1995 to Jan. 2004. Mrs. Holland also served as Executive Director of the Houston Gulfcoast Chapter and state of Texas Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) in Houston, Texas from 1981 to 1992. She was an Executive Assistant to the National Director, Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America. Inc., New York, N.Y. from 1979 to 1980 and was an Account Executive for Harry B. Light & Company in New York, N.Y. from 1976 to 1979 and was also a model in New York, N.Y.

Mrs. Holland attended Baruch College in N.Y. City, Ohio State University, University of Kentucky, Wright State Unversity and took Fundraising and Public Administration courses.

Surviving in addition to her husband of Galivants Ferry are one son, Drew A. Holland of Galivants Ferry; two brothers, Chris N. Hansen II of Conway, and James A. Hanson of Galivants Ferry; a nephew, Drew Hansen of Myrtle Beach; a niece, Elizabeth Hansen of Galivants Ferry, and a number of cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Avenue N., Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29577.

Geneva Dedmon Jones

LUMBERTON, N.C. -- Geneva Dedmon Jones, 92, died Wednesday, May 25, 2005.

Final rites will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Fair Bluff Baptist Church with Dr. Ray Lundy officiating. Burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Meares Funeral Home, 795 Main Street, Fair Bluff, N.C.

Clementine Atkinson Kelly

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Clementine Atkinson Kelly, 82, a retired public school teacher, died of natural causes on Monday, May 23, 2005 at Charlotte Medical Center, Charlotte, N.C.

She was born on Nov. 19, 1922, to the marital union of Ernest Atkinson and Mrs. Leola Reeder Atkinson. Both of her parents and her husband, Wendell Kelly Sr., preceded her in death.

"Clem." as many knew her, attended Georgetown County Schools and Bennett College, Greensboro, N.C. before completing her B.A. degree in Elementary Education at Morris College, Sumter. She taught in the Georgetown County Schools for over thirty years.

After retirement, she remained actively involved in community-based activities as Girl Scout Leader, Georgetown County Public Library Trustee, member of the Georgetown County Hospice Board of Directors, Alzheimer's Support Group, Helping Hands volunteer, and Georgetown County Mental Retardation Board.

She is survived by her children (and spouses), Wendell Kelly (Vera) of Aiken, Sandra Kelly Morant of Charlotte, N.C., Kathleen Hunter (Ronald) of Durham, N.C., Cheryl Hughes (David) of Charlotte, N.C., Cleo Howard (James) of Charlotte, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cynthia Smith (Clarence) of Columbia, and Maudest Coleman (Andrew B.) of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Pansye Atkinson of Frostburg, Md., Irma North of Georgetown, and Anita Atkinson of Sumter; brother-in-law, Harold B. Kelly of Shaker Heights, Ohio, and other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2005 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2005 at Holy Cross Faith Memorial Church, Pawleys Island. Burial will follow at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Georgetown.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Hospice of Georgetown.

Wilds Funeral Home of Georgetown is serving the family.
