Angela R. Craigo Settle

LONGS -- Mrs. Angela R. Craigo Settle, 28 of Poca and Longs, South Carolina went home to be with the Lord June 5, 2005.

Angie is a 1994 graduate of Poca High School; 1998 graduate of Marshall University serving her internship in Nutrition at Virginia Tech. Angie is a former employee of Loris Community Hospital and Grand Strand Regional Hospital. She was a member of the American Dietetic Association and Lone Oak Church of God Mission. Angie volunteered her time in the Relay for Life and Meals on Wheels.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Audrey Arthur and paternal grandfather John S. Craigo.

She is survived by her devoted husband Jason R. Settle; mother Sherry V. Craigo of Poca; father Michael L. Craigo of Red House; sisters, Jenny and husband, Billy, Harper of Red House and Debby Joyce of Winfield; brother Tony and wife, Meredith, Craigo of Red House; maternal grandfather William V. Arthur of Ripley; paternal grandmother Evelyn Babe Craigo of Red House; father and mother-in-law Richard and Pam Settle of Little River; sister-in-law Sheri and husband, Todd, Flanery of Longs; brother-in-law Brian and wife, Sheryl, Settle of Hurricane; nieces, Gabrielle Joyce and Shanda Settle; nephews, Brandon Flanery, Caleb Joyce, Chance Jones, and Dalton Jones and her dog, Berky.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Duke University Medical Center Melvin Graham, Dr. Michael DeWitt, Dr. Leo Gibson, Kanawha Valley Hospice, Boyds Home Health, family, friends and the community for all your love and support.

Services will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at Lone Oak Church of God Mission with Pastor Nyle Fisher and Paul Arthur officiating. Entombment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens, Red House. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Gatens-Harding Funeral Home 147 Main St. Poca is in charge of the arrangements.

Edward Roosevelt Spain

CONWAY -- Funeral services for Mr. Edward Roosevelt Spain, age 58, will be at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday at the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with burial following. McKiever Funeral Home, Inc. of Conway is in charge.

Robert Hammond Stack Sr.

CONWAY -- Robert Hammond Stack Sr., age 66, died Friday, June 3, 2005 at the VA Hospital in Charleston.

Mr. Stack was born in Cope, S.C., a son of the late Eugene "Tully" Stack and Margaret Louise Mount Stack Jackson. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was a retired contractor of 33 years from Conway and Myrtle Beach area. Mr. Stack was pre-deceased by a sister, Jean Stack Rodenberg.

Surviving are his wife, Donnie F. Stack of Elloree, S.C.; four sons, Robert Hammond Stack Jr., Mitchell Cameron Stack and Purvis Jason Stack, all of Conway, and Ronald David Stack of Elloree; four grandchildren, Brittany Jean Stack, Sabrina Marie Stack, Mitchell Hammond Stack and Jason Chase Stack, all of Conway; four sisters, Sophia Gandy of Latta, Betty Downing of Midway Park, N.C., Verna Heynig of Charleston, and Leona Kay Stevens of Blythewood, S.C.; three brothers, William Jackson of Myrtle Beach, Purvis Jackson of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Steven Jackson of Conway.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, at Rehobeth Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.

Phillip John Victor

FAIR BLUFF, N.C. -- Mr. Phillip John Victor, 55, died Saturday, June 4, 2005. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Meares Funeral Home in Fair Bluff. Burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

William Crowell Allen

HINGHAM, Mass. -- William Crowell Allen, age 84, of Hingham, Mass., formerly of Weymouth, Mass. and Myrtle Beach, died on Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at the Norwell Knoll Nursing Home in Norwell, Mass.

He was born, raised and educated in Arlington, Mass. During World War II, he served with the United States Navy. Following the war, he graduated from Harvard University and for a time was a writer for the Boston Globe. For 25 years Mr. Allen was vice president of the Boston office of the advertising firm, The DR Group. He resided in Weymouth from 1956 to 1990 at which time he came to Hingham. Also, during these years, he maintained a residence in Myrtle Beach.

Husband of the late Constance (Stubbs) Allen, he leaves a son, Duncan W. Allen of Needham, Mass.; his daughter, Penelope Allen-Baltera of Hingham; grandchildren, Stewart E. Allen of Weymouth, Constance G. Baltera, Geoffrey V. Baltera and Gwendolyn R. Baltera, all of Hingham; and a sister, Priscilla Cayer of Scotia, N.Y.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, July 16, 2005 at 12 p.m. at the Hingham Congregational Church, 378 St. (Rt. 228), Hingham.

Visiting hours and flowers are omitted by request. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory would be preferred to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 No. Michigan Ave., FL 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633 or to the Boston Guild for the Blind, 200 Ivy St., Brookline, MA 02446 or to the Farr Academy, 17 Pearl St., Cambridge, MA 02139.

The interment is to be private.

CALABASH, N.C. -- Arthur J. Bock, 82, died Friday, July 8, 2005. A funeral mass will be today at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Sea Catholic Church, N. Myrtle Beach. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. Brunswick Funeral Service and Crematory, Shallotte, N.C.

Lula Gause Chadmon

CONWAY -- Mrs. Lula Gause Chadmon, 97, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005. Service will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, from the Jerusalem Chapel Miss. Baptist Church with burial following in the Owens Family Cemetery. McKiever Funeral Home, Inc.

MYRTLE BEACH -- Angela Kristine Chalmers, 26, died Saturday, July 9, 2005. Arrangements will be announced by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.

William Emerson Englar Jr.

LITTLE RIVER -- William Emerson Englar Jr., 74, died Sunday, July 10, 2005. Arrangements will be announced by Lee Funeral Home & Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach.

Benjamin Gadson Jr.

GEORGETOWN -- Benjamin Gadson Jr., 73, died Thursday, July 7, 2005. Service will be today at 4 p.m. at First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Wilds Funeral Home is in charge.

Florence Winifred Garris

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Florence Winifred Garris, 86, of Greenville, widow of Joe Garris, died Saturday, July 9, 2005.

Born in Florence, she was the daughter of the late John and Minnie Lee Floyd.

Mrs. Garris was a graduate of Aynor High School.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Greenville, and the Fidelis Sunday School Class and was also a member of the Hillcrest Garden Club.

Survivors include her daughter, Gail G. Christopher; a granddaughter, Alyson Christopher and great-granddaughter, Meaghan Raines, all of Greenville; two sisters, Elsie Baine of Columbia and Patsy Brown of Greenwood.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Greenville, with the Rev. Dr. Baxter Wynn officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary.
