FAIR BLUFF, N.C. -- Shelda Dean Strickland, 67, died Monday, July 11, 2005.

Services will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at Meares Funeral Home in Fair Bluff, with burial following in the Parker Cemetery.

Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Michael A. Trewhella

MURRELLS INLET -- Michael A. Trewhella, age 69, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005.

Arrangements will be announced by Litchfield Pawleys Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Rosie Elsie Tucker

CONWAY -- Mrs. Rosie Elsie Tucker, age 78, died Saturday, July 9, 2005.

Services will be Wednesday, 4 p.m., at the True Vine Miss. Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. McKiever Funeral Home, Inc. of Conway is in charge.

Tammy Denise Woodson

CONWAY -- Tammy Denise Woodson, age 34, wife of Henry E. Harrelson of West Homewood Road died Thursday, July 7, 2005.

Mrs. Woodson was born in Baltimore, Maryland, a daughter of Patricia Durkin and Raymond Woodson Sr.

Surviving in addition to her husband and mother, both of Conway and father of Baltimore, Maryland are one daughter, Patricia Holtzapple of Baltimore, Md.; four sisters, Sherry Woodson of Conway, Tina Woodson, Melissa Woodson, and Latisha Lovelace, all of Baltimore, Md.; one brother, Raymond Woodson of Baltimore, Md. and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.

Burial will follow at Bakers Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

George K. 'G.K.' Young

TIMMONSVILLE -- George King "G.K." Young, 85, died Tuesday July 12, 2005 in a local hospital.

Mr Young was born in Florence County the son of the late James Fred and Mattie Jeffords Young.

He was educated in the Florence Public School system.

Mr. Young was a building contractor and farmer. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.

Mr Young was a charter member of the Order of Eastern Star; Past Master Mason of Benton Lodge 26; member of Sardis Baptist Church, serving as a deacon; S.C. Home Builders Association and Woodmen of the World member.

He was first married to the late Mildred Lee Young.

Surviving are his wife, Sue Tyson Young of Timmonsville; two sons, Dr. Freddie M. (Ellen) Young, Myrtle Beach, Don (Judy) Young, Timmonsville; one sister, Helen Bridgeland, Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren, Lee-Ann Young, George King (Ann) Young II, Christian (Leslie) Young, Tracie (Dennis) Hicks,Jennifer (Pete) Yates, George Anderson Andy(Winter) Young, ten great grandchildren; Jordan, Brett, Anna-Grace and George King Young III, Reeve Ellen Young, Ellie and Grayson Hicks, Graham and Kelley Yates, Addison Young; three step-daughters, Patricia B. Campbell, Darlington, Brenda (Kemp) Causey, Calabash, N.C., Jan (Larry) Gordon, Darlington; four step grandchildren; Ryan Jordan, Forrest Jordan, Kent (Lisa) Shaw, Noelle (Rob) Shaw-Bell; two step great-grandchildren; Brandon Jordan, Lindsay Shaw.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 13, 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family will also receive visitors at 3 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the church prior to the service.

Funeral services will be Thursday July 14, 2005 at 4 p.m.at Sardis Baptist Church.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Grand Strand Baptist Church, 2280 Glory Blvd., 501 W., Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 or Sardis Baptist Church, 3129 Sardis Hwy., Timmonsville, SC 29161.

Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, 4210 W. Palmetto Street, Florence, SC is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ernest Franklin Baker

LITTLE RIVER -- Ernest Franklin Baker Jr., 77, of Little River, died, Friday, June 17, 2005 at his home.

Born on June 26, 1927, he was a son of the late Ernest Franklin and Alleen Bell Prince Baker Sr.

He was retired from the U.S. Navy after serving his country for 26 years.

Ernest is survived by nine children, Harold, Nancy, Linda and Deborah of Calif., Youlanda, Alleen, Ernest, Ill., Lou and Barbara of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a brother Charles Baker of Heathsville, Va.; a half sister, Connie Baker Johns of Norfolk, Va., and several cousins.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

The family would like to express special thanks to his cousin, Sandra and Carter Wrenn of Myrtle Beach for their concern and caring for Ernest.

Lee Funeral Home & Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach is serving the family.

Evangelist Roberta Beaty

LITTLE RIVER -- Evangelist Roberta Beaty, age 69, died Friday June 17, 2005, following an illness.

Surviving are three sons, Robert "Bobby" Beaty, Michael Beaty and Thomas "Tommy" Beaty; two daughters, Rose Beaty Smalls and Laura Ann Mompremier; four sisters, Alease Stevenson, Emmaree Claridy, Jessie Mae Gore and Bernie White; one brother, Homer Bessant and five grandchildren.

Visitation is at Mt.Calvary #2 Baptist Church, Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Latimer's Funeral Home is in charge.

Sarah 'Sally' H. Brucker

GARDEN CITY -- Sarah "Sally" H. Brucker, 93, of Evans, Ga., formerly of Garden City, died Friday, May 27, 2005.

She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Paul Wilson Brucker.

Mrs. Brucker was a native of Camden, N.J., a former resident of Southhampton, Pa. and Garden City, having made the Augusta area her home for the past seven years.

She was a member of the Belin United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet and the Owls Club in Pittman, N.J.

During the 1950's Mrs. Brucker was a Department Manager with Strawbridge and Clothier Department Store in Philadelphia, Pa. and was an avid bridge player.

Survivors include three sons, Paul J. Brucker and his wife, Deborah, of Evans, Ga., Linn W. Brucker and wife, Patricia, of Martinez, Ga., Lee C. Brucker of Myrtle Beach; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 25th, at Belin United Methodist Church Cemetery, Murrells Inlet.

Memorials may be made to Belin United Methodist Church Gardners, PO Box 528, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.

Local arrangements are entrusted to McMillan-Small Funeral Home of Myrtle Beach. 449-3396
