BLACKSTOCK -- Mr. James Kenneth "Pimp" Young Sr., 40, of 1968 Overlook Road died Friday, January 23, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Kings Funeral Home.

Jessie Wasson

LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. - Mrs. Jessie Elizabeth Roby Wasson, 82, died Saturday, January 24, 1998, at Union County Hospice in Monroe, N.C.
The funeral will be announced at a later date.
Born in Kentucky, she was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceburg, Tenn. She graduated from the University of Kentucky and was a school librarian. She was a member and past president of the Rowans, an auxiliary of The Rotary International.
She was the widow of H.L. Wasson.
Surviving are her son, J.C. Wasson of Fort Mill; two sisters, Bernie Gephart of Middletown, Ohio, and Jane Clewett of Evanston, Ill.; and her grandson.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
Whitesell-Wolfe Funeral Home in Fort Mill is in charge of arrangements.

Clyde Barnes

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Clyde Blake Barnes of 2038 Hempstead Road died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Cauthen Funeral Home.

George W. Bland

CHESTER - Mr. George W. Bland, 76, of 514 Devine St. died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ronnie Green officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
A native of Chester County, Mr. Bland was retired from Springs Industries, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He attended Chester County public schools.
Surviving are his wife, Minnie Benson Bland; five sons, George B. Bland, Robert W. Bland, Ricky Bland, Jimmie M. Bland and William L. Bland, all of Chester; his daughter, Kathy B. Hall of Chester; two sisters, Sophie Lambert and Luedith Broom, both of Rock Hill; 23 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Sara Corder

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Sara L. Ballard Corder, 62, of 1940 Old Friendship Road died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greene Funeral Home, with Dr. Tommy Huddleston officiating and the Rev. Bill Tyson assisting.
A native of Spartanburg, Mrs. Corder was employed at Red's Grill, where she was a waitress and short-order cook since 1952. She was of the Baptist faith. She was the widow of Bobby Eugene Corder.
Surviving are her son, Billy Gene Corder of Rock Hill; six brothers, Herbert Gene Ballard of Long Beach, N.C., Donnie Ballard of Los Angeles, Kenneth Ballard, James Ballard and David Ballard, all of Rock Hill, and Roy Ballard of Lancaster; her sister, Brenda Demby of Rock Hill; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of her son, Billy Corder, 520 E. Black St., Rock Hill, or her brother, David Ballard, 1343 Tenacity Court, Rock Hill.

Sally Gardner

KERSHAW - Mrs. Sally Byrd Gardner, 82 of 103 Blackmon St. died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at The Commander Nursing Center in Florence.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Kershaw City Cemetery, with the Rev. Bryant D. Fersner Jr. officiating.
Born in the Taxahaw Comimunity of Lancaster County, Mrs. Gardner was a member of First Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. She was the widow of James Robert Gardner Sr.
Surviving are her daughter, Angeline G. DeMoss of Wyomissing, Penn.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home.

Margaret Going

CHESTER - Miss Margaret Elizabeth Going, 80, of 1550 Carter Road died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Woodward Baptist Church, with the Revs. John Mullis and W.L. Faile officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Chester County, Miss Going was a member of Woodward Baptist Church, and a graduate of Sunshine School. She attended Spartanburg College on a scholarship.
Surviving are her brother, William Going of Chester.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Dennis Jenkins

LANCASTER - Mr. Dennis Wayne "Denny" Jenkins, 51, of Pageland Highway died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mahaffey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Benny Barwick officiating. Burial will be at Springhill Baptist Church cemetery.
A native of Union County, N.C., Mr. Jenkins was an employee of Springs Industries, and a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church, Lancaster Commandery, the Scottish Rite, the Hejaz Shrine Temple and Wannamaker Masonic Lodge No. 329, where he was past master.
Surviving are his son, Daren Jenkins of Lancaster; his father, V. Landon Jenkins of Lancaster; and his sister, Gloria Brann of Lancaster.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

Georgia Nunnery

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Georgia Bulla Nunnery, 83, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at Ebenezer Nursing Home.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, at Ebenezer ARP Church, with the Revs. Jack Basie, Boyce Wilson, Doug Jones and Charles Mitchell officiating. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.
A native of Thomasville, N.C., Mrs. Nunnery was a member of Ebenezer ARP Church, and taught Bible school. She was a member of Circle No. 4 and their bible leader. She was the first secretary for Rock Hill Housing Authority, and was retired from the York school district superintendent's office. She was also the secretary and treasurer for Rock Hill School. She was the widow of Curtis Odell Nunnery Sr.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. Kenneth E. Nunnery of Fort Mill, and Curtis Odell Nunnery Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C.; her daughter, Phyllis Nunnery Jennings of Tucker, Ga.; her sister, Agnes Comer of Greenville; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Bass Funeral Home.

Glenn Ramsey

WINNSBORO - Mr. Glenn Ramsey, 82, of Route 2, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Stephen Greene Baptist Church in Winnsboro. Burial will be at Fairfield Memorial Cemetery.
A native of Hickory Grove, Mr. Ramsey was retired from Uni-Royal Inc. and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Winnsboro Branch.
Surviving are his wife, Elise Collins Ramsey; his son, William G. "Bill" Ramsey of Atlanta; his daughter, Evelyn Ramsey Gambrell of Winnsboro; his brother, David Wilson Ramsey of Sharon; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Pope Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

David Rhyner

LANCASTER - Mr. David Rhyner, 74, of Cheraw Health Care Center, formerly of 3250 Rhyner Road, New Cut Community, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Cut Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Wayne Dickson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Rhyner was retired from masonry construction and attended New Cut Presbyterian Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are five brothers, George M. Rhyner of Spartanburg, Sam Rhyner of Columbia, Joe Rhyner of Reidsville, and Lathan Rhyner and Mason Rhyner, both of Lancaster; three sisters, Margaret Rhyner McCorkle of Gastonia, N.C., Ruth Rhyner Gaston of Lancaster, and Doris Rhyner Plyler of Great Falls.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

Arnold Willis

LANCASTER - Mr. Arnold Tyler Willis, 71, of 2527 Great Falls Highway died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church, with Dr. Harold Owens and the Rev. Ralph Cowan officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
Born in Lancaster County, Mr. Willis was retired from Springs Industries, where he was a supervisor at the Lancaster Plant weave room. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served in the Navy during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Blackmon Willis of the home; two sons, Tommy Willis of Carrollton, Ga., and K. Wayne Willis of Lancaster; his brother, Dr. John B. Willis of Lancaster; two sisters, Mary Willis Helms and Caroline Willis Moorefield, both of Lancaster; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

Clyde Barnes
ROCK HILL - Mr. Clyde Blake Barnes, 71, of 2038 Hempstead Road died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A committal service will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. at Oakland Baptist Church, with Dr. Robert D. Shrum officiating.
Born in McColl, Mr. Barnes was retired from Celanese. He was a member of Oakland Baptist Church for more than 40 years. He was in the Navy during World War II and was in the Elks Club.
Surviving are two sons, Marty Barnes and "Ruck" Barnes, both of Rock Hill; his brother, Eugene Alfred Barnes of McColl; his sister, Mary Katheryne McLaurin of Powder Springs, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakland Baptist Church, 1067 W. Oakland Avenue, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Dwight Carroll
WESTLAND, Mich. - Mr. Dwight F. Carroll, 73, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998.
Born in York, Mr. Carroll was retired from the former General Motors Fisher Body Plant in Livonia, Mich., where he was a UAW official for 34 years.
Surviving are four sisters, Delois Moss of Blacksburg, Rhoda Hill of Columbia, Geraldine Wilkerson of Hickory Grove and Peggy Fulcher of Kannapolis, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
L.J. Griffin Funeral Home was in charge.
