Lawrence Kithcart
FORT MILL - Mr. Lawrence Michael "Larry" Kithcart, 48, of 7655 Charlotte Highway died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Johnson Hall at Winthrop University.
Born in Fort Wayne, Ind., Mr. Kithcart was a fiscal analyst supervisor at Winthrop University, where he received his master's in business administration. He served two U.S. Army tours of duty during the Vietnam era and earned a bronze star.
Surviving are his wife, Lyn McGuirt Kithcart; his son, Lawrence Maurice Kithcart of Fort Mill; his brother, Herbert Maurice Kithcart of Canyon, Texas; and two sisters, Linda Jane Curtis of Weaverville, N.C., and Diana Roberta Nash of New York City, N.Y.
Memorials may be made to a certificate of deposit fund established with Winthrop Credit Union for his son's educational or related expenses. Forward contributions to Winthrop Credit Union, c/o Cathy Grant, Crawford Building, Rock Hill, SC 29733.

ROCK HILL - Mr. Charles Steven "Charlie" McWhite, 46, of 820 Susan Circle died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Cauthen Funeral Home.

Jack Steele Sr.
BURLINGTON, N.C - Mr. Jack Edwin Steele Sr., 88, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Burlington, with the Rev. Skip Williams officiating. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Steele was retired from Duke Power Company after 48 years of service. He was a charter member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He was the widower of Juanita Ephland Steele of Rock Hill.
Surviving are two sons, Jack E. Steele Jr. of Columbia and C. Thomas Steele Sr. of Burlington; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Mildred Bollinger
ROCK HILL -Mrs. Mildred C. Bollinger, 88, of White Oak Manor died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, at White Oak Manor.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Greene Funeral Home, with the Revs. Ned Duncan and Eddie Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
Mrs. Bollinger, formerly of 135 Ross Road, York, was a native of Gaston County, N.C. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Lincolnton, N.C., but had been attending West End Baptist Church in Rock Hill.
Surviving are two sons, George Bollinger of Irmo, and Elliott Bollinger of Rock Hill; her daughter, Joyce Bollinger of York; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Greene Funeral home and other times at the home of her son, Elliott Bollinger, at 1878 Mount Holly Drive.

Thelma Clark
HOPEWELL, VA. - Mrs. Thelma Givens Clark, 77, of West Broadway, Hopewell, Va., died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, at John Randolph Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hopewell chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Wade officiating. Burial will be at Appomattox Cemetery.
A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Clark was a graduate of Winthrop College, a member of First United Methodist Church and the Retired Teachers Association. She was a retired business education teacher with Hopewell High School.
She was the widow of Bruce Arlington Clark Sr.
Surviving are her daughter, Carole Bruce Clark of Hopewell, Va.; her son, David Clark of Hopewell, Va.; two brothers, Harry A. Givens and Howard Givens, both of Rock Hill; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Ada Craig
ROCK HILL -Mrs. Ada Helms Craig, 86, of 2210 Oak Pond Road died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998 at Oak Pond Manor.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Greene Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rick Kirchinger officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Monroe, N.C., Mrs. Craig was employed with Highland Park Mill for 50 years. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Thomas H. Craig II of York; two daughters, Helen Godfrey and Ruth Branche, both of Rock Hill; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Ruth Branche, 2804 Mount Gallant Road, Rock Hill, S.C. 29732.

W.B. Dowis
FORT MILL - Mr. W.B. Dowis of 300 Spring St. died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, at home.
Arrangements will be announced by Whitesell-Wolfe Funeral Home.

Adelee Harvey
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Adelee Pressley Harvey, 71, of 1098 Ebinport Road, Apt. 5C, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998 at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at West Main Church of the Nazarene, with the Revs. John Powell, Marion Pressley and Curtis Cameron officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Great Falls, Mrs. Harvey was a member of West Main Church of the Nazarene, where she was an active member of the Sunday school and Joy Club. She attended Second Baptist Church in Great Falls prior to moving to Rock Hill.
Surviving are her son, Billy Harvey of Taylors; two daughters, Janice Culp of Rock Hill and Kay Dease of Catawba; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Janice Culp, 3149 Lockhaven Road, Rock Hill.
Memorials may be made to West Main Church of the Nazarene, 832 W. Main St., Rock Hill, S.C. 29730.

Arlie Kimmer
LANCASTER - Mr. Arlie Jack Kimmer, 66, of 2058 Tradesville Road died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998 at Carolinas Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at at Mahaffey Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Thurmond Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Kimmer was a retired carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Monnie Sue Ivey Kimmer; two daughters, Melissa Gilmore and Bonnie Kimmer, both of Lancaster; three brothers, Richard Kimmer of Whitmire, and Adam Kimmer and Ray Kimmer, both of Albemarle, N.C.; three sisters, Louise Thompson, Laura Hill and Joyce Faircloth all of Albemarle; and three grandchildren.

Kenneth Lambert
TEGA CAY - Mr. Kenneth Vaughn Lambert, 66, of Snapper Point, Tega Cay, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998 at his home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Unity Presbyterian Church, 303 Tom Hall St., Fort Mill, with the Rev. Jeannie Bickett and Dr. Dan Holloway officiating. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park, Concord, N.C.
Mr. Lambert was retired from York Technical College, where he was a counselor. He spent 21 years in the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars.
Surviving are his wife, Betsy Hayes Lambert; two daughters, Kimberly Hinson Chambers of Knoxville, Tenn., and Tracy Lambert Cox of Charlotte; and seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Scholarship Fund, York Technical College Foundation, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

ROCK HILL - Mr. Paul Lee William Mathis, 78, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, at his home.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill chapel.

Charlie McWhite
ROCK HILL - Mr. Charles Steven "Charlie" McWhite, 46, of 820 Susan Circle died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Monday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel, with Dr. Ervin Gilliam officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are his wife, Monique Pontbriand McWhite; his son, Beau McWhite of Dothan, Ala.; his daughter, Brandi Mather of McDonough, Ga.; his mother, Iva Lee Howell McWhite of Rock Hill; his brother, Roy "Mac" McWhite of Wilson, N.C.; his sister, Nina McWhite Gibson of Rock Hill; and his grandchild.
Mr. McWhite retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service and was also a civilian mission instructor with Lockheed-Martin.
He was a member of Willow Bend Church in Clarksville, Tenn., where he was a music leader and a member of the leadership team. He taught Bible studies at Kenwood Baptist Church in Clarksville and was a member of the Corinthian Masonic Lodge Number 416.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel.

Marguerite Thompson
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Marguerite Jones Thompson, 85, of 457 Willowbrook Ave., died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The graveside funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Dennis Buchanan officiating.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Mt. Gallant Church of God.
She was the widow of J. Barrett Thompson.
Surviving are two sons, Wallace Thompson of Pensacola, Fla., and Lynn Thompson of Fort Worth, Texas; her daughter, Madge Duncan of Rock Hill; ten grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her daughter, Madge Duncan, 1234 Pinewood Road, Rock Hill.

Linda Williams
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Linda K. Williams, 64, of 1210 Westover Circle died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Grandview Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, with the Revs. Steve Hogg, Sollie Hicks and Mitch Hunter officiating.
A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Williams was employed at Rinehart Realty. She was a member of First Baptist Church, its Worship Choir and the Adult No. 3 Sunday school class.
Surviving are her husband, Richard Williams; her son, Jerry Williams of Rock Hill; her daughter, Carol Hegwood of Rock Hill; two brothers, Jimmy Kendall and Everett Kendall, both of Rock Hill; two sisters, Leonia Fuessner of Ocala, Fla. and Abbie Jackson of Rock Hill; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel and at other times at the home.
