Carol Peak
HARTFORD, Conn. - Miss Carol Peak, 56, formerly of Chester, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998, at a Hartford hospital.
The funeral will be noon Thursday at Horace Bushnell Church in Hartford. Burial will be in Hartford.
Born in Chester County, Miss Peak was a graduate of Finley High School. She was the manager of Rental Collections for Ted Wilson's contractors. She was a member of Macedonia Church of God, where she was president of the pastor's aid and the women's department. She was a former member of Fairview Baptist Church in Chester County.
Surviving are her daughter, Yvonne Peak of Colchester, Conn.; her brother, Barry Peak of Philadelphia; four sisters, Annie Foote of Chester, Eloise Polk, Odessa Peak and Peggy Grant, all of Philadelphia; and two grandchildren.
King's Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Richard Sams
YORK - Mr. Richard Hiram Sams, 61, of Turkey Creek Road died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998, at his home.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Bullock Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. John P. Smith officiating.
Born in Spartanburg, Mr. Sams was a shop technician for 33 years at Brownie Sales Inc. in Sharon.
Surviving are his sister, Gracie S. Brakefield of York.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.

Deborah Blake
YORK - Mrs. Deborah Beverly Blake, 42, of 504 California Circle died Sunday, Jan. 4, 1998, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Gold Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Blake officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the church.
Beasley Funeral Home is in charge.

James Burrell
ROCK HILL - Mr. James Ray Burrell, 75, of 2428 Catawba Church Road died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998, at Mercy Hospital South.
The funeral will be private.
A Rock Hill native, Mr. Burrell was a retiree of J.P. Stevens Co. and a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church. He was a Marine, a World War II veteran, and an avid fisherman. He was the widower of Evelyn Faile Burrell.
Surviving are his son, David Ray Burrell of Concord, N.C.; two daughters, Anita Burrell of Indian Trail, N.C., and Joy Strait of Rock Hill; three grandchildren; and his great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the home.
Memorials may be made to Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 2697 Heckle Blvd., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Gracie Carter
CLOVER - Mrs. Gracie Simpson Carter of 938 St. Paul Church Road died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Wright Funeral Home in York.

Merdice Dumas
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Mrs. Merdice Stinson Dumas, 64, of 20 St. Paw Court died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998, at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Union Ezell AME Zion Church in Fort Lawn, with the Rev. William N. Long officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Formerly of Fort Lawn, Mrs. Dumas was a member of Union Ezell AME Zion Church. She was a salesperson at a furniture company in Brooklyn. She attended Chester County public schools.
Surviving are her husband, Edward Dumas of Brooklyn; her brother, James Stinson of Columbus, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of her niece Romona Brown, 5611 Renardo Road, Fort Lawn.
The body will be placed in the church at noon Saturday.

David Gaither
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Mr. David Gaither, formerly of Great Falls, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 1998, in Brooklyn.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Camp Welfare AME Zion Church in Winnsboro, with the Rev. Stuirdiviant officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Gaither was a member of Camp Welfare AME Zion Church. He was retired from working for the city of Brooklyn.
Surviving are his wife, Irene Gaither; five children; three brothers, James Gaither of Waterbury, Conn., Joe L. Gaither of Brooklyn and Heyward Gaither of Great Falls; his sister, Ruth Jones of Brooklyn; and 15 grandchildren.
The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. today.
Washington Funeral Home in Great Falls is in charge.

Myrtle Hope
YORK - Mrs. Myrtle Baber Hope, 79, of 7 S. Pacific Ave. Apt. 7-A died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at York Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lee Phillips officiating. Burial will be at Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church cemetery.
A York County native, Mrs. Hope was a retired winder with Cannon Mills. She was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church and was the widow of Boyd Hope.
Surviving are two sons, Johnny Hope of York and Richard Hope of Blacksburg; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.

YORK - Mr. James Andrew Kelly, 91, of 411 E. Liberty St. died Wednesday, January 7, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by York Funeral Home.

Mary Lehman
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mary Catherine Lehman, 88, of 1915 Ebenezer Road, formerly of Hyndman, Pa., died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998, at White Oak Manor.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Harvey H. Ziegler Funeral Home in Hyndman, Penn. Burial will be at Hyndman Cemetery in Hyndman, Penn.
Born in Meyersdale, Penn., Mrs. Lehman was a retired bookkeeper. She was a member of First Church of Christ and Eastern Star. She was the widow of Paul Eugene Lehman.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Janet B. Lehman of Rock Hill; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the funeral service, at Harvey H. Ziegler Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Christ, Hyndman, PA 15545.

Wallace Price
GREAT FALLS - Mr. Wallace Clyde Price, 83, of 6235 Richburg Road died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998, at his home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Heath Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Born in Chester, Mr. Price was retired from J.P. Stevens Co. He was a World War II Army veteran. He attended Great Falls schools and Heath Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Baker Price; his son, Thomas Marion Price of Lancaster; his daughter, Marilyn Yvonne Bowen of Great Falls; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Robert Sadler
YORK - Mr. Robert Perry Sadler, 88, of 466 Shiloh Road died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Tirzah Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. James Gable officiating. Burial will be at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church cemetery in Rock Hill.
A York County native, Mr. Sadler was retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. He was a member of Tirzah Presbyterian Church, where he was a deacon, elder and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the American Legion and was a World War II Army veteran.
Surviving is his sister, Mary Elizabeth Harper of Monroe, N.C.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his niece Becky Kelly, 466 Shiloh Road.

Euree Sistare
LANCASTER - Mrs. Euree Carnes Sistare, 91, of Myrtle Beach died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998, at Grand Strand Regional Hospital in Myrtle Beach.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, with the Revs. Ron Gregory and James Rodden officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
Born in Lancaster, Mrs. Sistare was a member of Glenwood Heights Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries. She was the widow of James Tim Sistare.
Surviving are her daughter, Mildred Rodden of Myrtle Beach; two brothers, C.B. Carnes of Surfside Beach and Paul C. Carnes of Lancaster; two sisters, Grace King of Charlotte and Sara McClellan of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Eloise Cunningham, 3478 Heyward Hough Road.

Hazel Suggs
MOORESVILLE, N.C. - Mrs. Hazel Haynes Suggs, 63, of 671 Patterson Road died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Neill Funeral Home, with the Rev. Craig Seaford officiating. Burial will be at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
Born in Rutherford County, Mrs. Suggs was a housewife. She was the widow of Sidney Suggs.
Surviving are her son, Phillip Suggs of York; two daughters, Ethel Suggs and Ruth Suggs, both of Mooresville; her sister, Peggy Lowery of Caoleen, N.C.; and six grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Iredell County, P.O. Box 822, Statesville, NC 28687.
