Margaret Vincent

WESTVILLE - Mrs. Margaret Taylor Vincent, 78, of 3125 Pinetree Lane died Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, at Kershaw County Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Kershaw City Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert Rivers officiating.

Born in Pageland, Mrs. Vincent was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, the Fidelis Sunday school class and was retired from Springs Industries. She was the widow of Sidney Ben Vincent.

Surviving are three sons, James R. Vincent and Gerald Vincent, both of Kershaw, and William Vincent of Westville; three daughters, Judy Faye Vincent of Kershaw, and Gayle V. Hunter and Jackie Vincent, both of Westville; two sisters, Edna T. Griggs of Kershaw and Lavenia "Ben" Usery of Lielesville, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home today.

Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge.

G.E. Waldrop

LANCASTER - Mr. G.E. "Gene" Waldrop, 72, of 901 Forest Drive died Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Episcopal Church, with Father William Walters and the Rev. Dr. Ross Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Born in Greenville County, Mr. Waldrop was a retired pharmacist and worked for the Williams Drug Center for 20 years and for Springs Memorial Hospital in pharmacy and material management for 17 years. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy Class of 1953. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and a member of Christ Episcopal Church.

Surviving are his wife, Jean S. Waldrop of the home; his son, Chris E. Waldrop of Lancaster; his daughter, Claudia Royals of Raleigh, N.C.; his brother, George Waldrop of Lancaster; and his grandchild.

The family will receive friends at the home from 7 to 9 tonight at the home.

Memorials may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 534 Plantation Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

William Wright

ROCK HILL - Mr. William R. Wright, 84, of 561 Trexler Lane died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A Lancaster native, Mr. Wright was a merchant marine for most of his life.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel D. Wright; and his son, Edward Wright of New Jersey.

Greene Funeral Home is in charge.

Paul Baker

ROCK HILL - Mr. Paul Andrew Baker, 72, of 673 Izard St. died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, at his home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Greene Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Hogg officiating. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.

A Rock Hill native, Mr. Baker worked at Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. and as a security guard at Winthrop University. He was an Army veteran and attended First Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Pearl Cooper Baker of the home; five sons, Dennis Lee Baker, Paul D. Baker, Gary Dean Baker and Robert Lee Baker, all of Rock Hill, and William Thomas Baker of Patterson, N.J.; two daughters, Mae Hunsucker and Carolyn McGraw, both of Rock Hill; his brother, Bruce E. Baker of Rock Hill; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church building fund, 215 E. Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

George Dawson

WAXHAW, N.C. - Mr. George Herbert Dawson, 76, of 9011 Mini Ranch Road died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, at Union Regional Medical Center in Monroe.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date.

Born in Interlaken, N.Y., Mr. Dawson was a retired physicist, previously employed at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, N.Y. He was a Mason and a Shriner with Damascus Shrine Temple in Rochester, N.Y. He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran and a member of the Dutch Reform Church in Interlaken. He graduated from the University of Colorado in 1948 and was a member of The Honorary Fraternity, Phi Mu Epsilon, Sigma Phi Sigma and Sigma Tau.

Surviving are his wife, Ione Crim Dawson of the home; and his son, Philip R. Dawson of Denver.

Memorials may be made to the Waxhaw Lions Club, P.O. Box 384 Waxhaw, NC 28173.

Troy Greene

PHOENIX - Mr. Troy Henry Greene, 76, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, in Phoenix.

A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix.

Born in Judson, N.C., Mr. Greene served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of D.A.V. and the Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Emily Greene of Phoenix; five daughters, Joyce Stafford of Fort Worth, Texas, Debra Kinney of Palmetto, Fla., Susan Lowe of Gastonia, N.C., Wendy Hill of Phoenix and Jill Payne of Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, Oscar Greene of Bessemer City, N.C., and Richard Greene of Madison, Ala.; two sisters, Josephine Parker of Marek, Ga., and Murline Hord of Stanley, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

Camelback Sunset Chapel Funeral Home is in charge.

Laterika Jeeter

BLAIR - Laterika Jeeter, the infant daughter of Alvin E. and Jacqueline Jeeter, of Route 1, Box 230, died Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Old Hope Station Baptist Church in Fairfield County, with the Rev. David Rice officiating.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her brother, Alvin E. Jeeter Jr. of Union; her sister, Jamekia Jeeter of the home; her paternal grandmother, Aurelia Suber of Union; her maternal grandparents, Jonny and Margaret Williamson of Blair and Joe and Mable Brice of Chester; her paternal great-grandmother, Alice Jeeter of Union; her maternal great-grandmother, Bennon English of Blair; and her maternal great-grandparents, David and Agnes Brice of Chester.

Sally McInvaille

LANCASTER - Mrs. Sally Loretta Pate McInvaille, 83, of 1114 Grace Ave. died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Grace Free Will Baptist Church, with the Revs. Thomas Taylor and Gary McInvaille officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Born in Kershaw, Mrs. McInvaille was a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was the widow of Dorsey Colon McInvaille.

Surviving are two sons, Colon McInvaille and Gary McInvaille, both of Lancaster; four daughters, Jeanette Taylor of Nichols, Ruth Cook of Camden, Annette Belk and Norma Baker, both of Lancaster; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home.

Margaret Whisonant

MOBILE, Ala. - Mrs. Margaret B. Whisonant, formerly of Rock Hill, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at her home.

Mrs. Whisonant was a graduate of Winthrop University and retired after teaching 26 years in the Mobile County school system. She was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church and was U.M.W. president for the past two years.

Surviving are her husband, Clarence Whisonant of Mobile; three children, Chuck Whisonant and Beth Stafford-Green, both of Mobile, and Shay Sanford of Columbia, S.C.; and her brother, J.W. Brown Jr. of Asheville, N.C.

Radney Funeral Home was in charge.

Vergie Brownlow

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Vergie M. Brownlow, 87, of 127 Murrah Drive, Magnolia Manor, formerly of Chicopee, Ga., died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, at Magnolia Manor.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Little-Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville, Ga. Burial will be at Alta Vista City Cemetery in Gainesville, Ga.

Born in Bristol, Va., Mrs. Brownlow was a retiree of Johnson & Johnson Co. in Georgia after 45 years of service. She was a member of Chicopee Baptist Church. She lived in Rock Hill for several years and was the widow of Paul Brownlow.

Surviving are her daughter, Ruth Brownlow Hinson; her brother, Gene Munpower of Gainesville, Ga.; her sister, Ivadell Clifton of Danville, Va.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at Little-Davenport Funeral Home.

Mary Deese

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Mary Belle Hooks Deese, 82, of 3901 Walter Nelson Road died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, at Presbyterian Hospital.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at McEwen Funeral Home, Mint Hill Chapel, with the Rev. Maria Davis-Hanlin officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Born in Matthews, Mrs. Deese was a member of Matthews United Methodist Church and was formerly employed at Hudson Hosiery Mill. She attended Cochrane Academy and graduated from Matthews High School.

Surviving are her son, Avery E. Deese of York; her daughter, Barbara A. Deese of Charlotte; and her granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at McEwen Funeral Home.

Betty Lou Duncan

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Betty Lou Hammond Duncan, 69, of 1211 Ebinport Road died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, at her home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, with the Revs. Steve Hogg and Sollie Hicks officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Born in Lancaster, Mrs. Hammond was a member of First Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas Duncan; two sons, James R. Duncan of North Augusta and Thomas R. Duncan of Decatur, Ala.; her brother, Harold Hammond of Rock Hill; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Marshall Huskey

YORK - Mr. Marshall Neil Huskey, 59, of 815 Liberty St. died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at York Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marshall Nichols officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Born in Clover, Mr. Huskey was a former employee of Cannon Mills Inc. and a former member of the National Guard.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby Craig Huskey; two daughters, Jeanann H. O'Neal of York and Shannon Denise Huskey of the home; his sister, Evelyn H. Smart of Clover; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.
