Fannie Gladden
RICHBURG - Mrs. Fannie Good Gladden, 95, of 140 East Lancaster St. died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at Northside Hospital in Canton, Ga.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Prospect United Methodist Church, with the Revs. John Rumford, Della Sparks and Fant Steele officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Born in Chester County, Mrs. Gladden was a homemaker and a piano teacher. She was a graduate of Chester County schools and Winthrop College and was a member of Mount Prospect United Methodist Church.

She was the widow of Robert H. Gladden.

Surviving are her son, Robert H. Gladden Jr. of Jasper, Ga.; three sisters, Mary H. Bonner of Gaffney, Lucy Ray of York and Annis Russell of Woodland, Texas; three grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Betty Hegler
LANCASTER - Mrs. Betty Carnahan Hegler, 73, of 1528 Lynwood Drive died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at West Side Cemetery, with the Rev. Shane Patrick officiating.

Born in Crafton, Pa., Mrs. Hegler was a member of First Baptist Church and was retired from A.O. Smith-Clark Control.

Surviving are her son, Julian E. Hegler of Cornelius, N.C.; two daughters, Betsy Hegler and Dorothy Jane Hegler, both of Columbia; her mother, Alma Eugenia Knight McManus of Lancaster; her sister, Mykkel Wallace of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; two grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 300 S. Market St., Lancaster, SC 29720.

Tommie Jernigan
LANCASTER - Mrs. Tommie Nesbit Jernigan, 87, of 606 W. Meeting St. died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at First ARP Church, with the Revs. Gilbert Powell and Roy Beckham officiating. Entombment will be at Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Born in Lenoir, N.C., Mrs. Jernigan was a homemaker and a member of First ARP Church.

She was the widow of Dalton Hooper Jernigan.

Surviving are her daughter, Sara Eddins of Lancaster; her sister, Julia Bowers of Lancaster; and her grandson.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel and other times at the home of Mack and Sara Eddins, 1105 Malvern Lane.

Memorials may be made to the D.H. and Tommie Jernigan Scholarship Fund, c/o University of South Carolina, Lancaster Regional Campus, PO Box 889, Lancaster, SC 29721-0889.

Mildred Ledbetter
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mildred Maxine Ledbetter, 46, died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at her home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, with the Rev. Ron Roddey officiating.

Born in West Plains, Mo., Mrs. Ledbetter was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are four daughters, Jacqueline Hale of Harrison, Ark., Veronica Root of Lynsberg, Kan., and Carmella Petty and Jessica Murdy, both of Rock Hill; her parents, Floyd and Hazel Ledbetter of West Plains, Mo.; five brothers, Dean Ledbetter, Donald Ledbetter, J.C. Ledbetter, Joe Ledbetter and Steve Ledbetter, all of West Plains, Mo.; and two sisters, Laverna Williams of West Plains, Mo., and Alice Kelsey of Steel, Mo.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Cauthen Funeral Home.

Thomas Lee
CHESTER - Mr. Thomas Lindsey Lee, 60, of 153-C Saluda St. died Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998, at his home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Barron Funeral Home, with the Rev. Reggie Parker officiating. Burial will be at Zion Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Born in Chester County, Mr. Lee was a retired self-employed automobile mechanic. He attended the schools of Chester County and was a member of Chester ARP Church.

He was the widower of Remona Daphine Owens Lee.

Surviving are his daughter, Teresa Williford of Chester and two granddaughters.

The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter at 720 Colony Road.

Johnnie Mae McClure
CHESTER - Mrs. Johnnie Mae McClure, 86, of Chester Care Facility, formerly of 2216 Cedar Grove Church Road, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Denton Funeral Home.

Dolores Miller
GASTONIA, N.C. - Mrs. Dolores Benjamin "Moote" Miller, 51, of 1808 Taylor Drive died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1998, at her home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at St. John Baptist Church, with the Rev. William Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park.

A native of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Miller was a member of St. John Baptist Church and was a machine operator.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Miller; three sons, Christopher Miller of Manchester, Ky., and Robert Miller and Kyle Miller, both of Gastonia; three daughters, Sheiva Miller and Janelle Miller, both of Gastonia, and Ejean Miller of Belmont, N.C.; two brothers, L.W. Benjamin and Foster Benjamin, both of Rock Hill; her sister, Alberta Wright of Clover; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at St. John Baptist Church.

Costner Funeral Home is in charge.

Geneva Pickett
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Geneva Duffy Pickett, 92, of 1054 S. Stonewall St. died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998, at her home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.W. Thompson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A Fairfield County native, Mrs. Pickett was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, the Union Aide Society, the AP&B Society, the Eastern Star, the senior choir and the missionary society. She attended Fairfield County public schools.

Surviving are two brothers, Sammy Duffy of Columbia and Henry Duffy of Bronx, N.Y.; two sisters, Mary D. Feely of Charlotte and Ruby D. Tate of Bronx, N.Y.; six grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Virl Potts
FORT MILL - The graveside service for Ms. Virl Leonna Davis Potts, 83, of Knollwood Apartments who died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center, will be 2 p.m. today at Grandview Memorial Park Mausoleum, with the Rev. Warren Nance officiating.

Born in Greer, Ms. Potts worked for Industrial Mills of Rock Hill and Burlington Mills of Gastonia, N.C.

Surviving are two sons, Gary D. Davis of Rock Hill and James W. Potts of Columbus, Ga.; her daughter, Gayle P. Bailey of Fort Mill; two sisters, Eunice Amerson and Elvie Knight, both of Rock Hill; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Gayle Bailey, 201 Williamson St.

Whitesell-Wolfe Funeral Home is in charge.

Samuel Timms
ANDERSON - Mr. Samuel Augustus Timms, 83, of 406 Rogers St. died Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998, at Anderson Area Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McDuffie Street Church of God, with the Rev. Jerry Rice officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Timms was a self-employed small engine repairman, a former employee of Equinox Mill and was a member of McDuffie Street Church of God where he was a bus driver and usher.

Surviving are his wife, Colleen Davis Timms; two sons, Rodney Timms of Fort Mill and Marshall Timms of Iva; three daughters, Katy Helms of Waxhaw, N.C., Mary Rowland of Anderson and Patsy Wilson of Fort Mill; his sister, Inez Whitten of Calhoun Falls; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. today.

The family is at the home.

Timothy Williams
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Mr. Timothy J. Williams, 39, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998, of lung cancer at his home.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Ann's Episcopal Church, 419 Woodland St., Nashville. Entombment will be at the the church.

Surviving are his companion, Jeff Burch of Nashville; his mother, Nelle Williams of York; two brothers, Sam Williams and Dean Williams, both of York; three sisters, Fran Broome of Wilmington, N.C., Joyce Adkins of York and Jane Kimbrell of Rock Hill.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. A reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Ann's Episcopal Church, 419 Woodland St., Nashville, TN 37206.

Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Hendersonville is in charge.
