Jonathan Barrett

KINGS MOUNTAIN STATE PARK - A memorial service for Jonathan Philip Barrett, 19, who died April 24, 1999, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Africa, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lake Crawford Picnic Shelter at Kings Mountain State Park. Burial was May 3 in South Morgan Cemetery in Morgan, Utah.

Mr. Barrett, a Elder with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was a missionary in Abidjan.

Surviving are his father, David T. Barrett of Ogden, Utah, formerly of York, and his stepmother, Mylitta Barrett of Ogden; his mother and stepfather, Shelley Watters Paige and John Paige of Morgan; three brothers, Joseph Barrett, Jackson Barrett and Jefferson Barrett; his sister, Vanetta Stagg of Salt Lake City; his paternal grandfather, Joseph Philip Barrett Sr. of York; and his maternal grandmother, Helen Watters of Ogden.

Bessie Beam

CHESTER - Mrs. Bessie Hare Beam, 89, of 2641 Douglas School Road died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Woodward Baptist Church, with the Revs. Tommy Roper, W.L. Faile, and Jimmy Hare officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Beam was a daughter of the late William Robert Hare and Edith McClain Hare. She was the widow of Herbert S. Beam. A homemaker, Mrs. Beam was a member of Woodward Baptist Church. She was a graduate of the Chester County schools.

Surviving areher son, H. Wayne Beam of Columbia; her brother, William W. Hare of Chester; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Christine Brannon

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Christine Rawls Brannon, 78, of 588 Neely Road died Monday, June 21, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Laurelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Steve Hogg officiating.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Brannon was a daughter of the late Ed P. Rawls Sr. and Ada McFadden Rawls. She was the widow of James T. Brannon. Mrs. Brannon was a graduate of Rock Hill High School. She was retired from the City of Rock Hill as a cashier.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Betty Robinson of Rock Hill; two sisters, Virginia Love and Sarah Craig, both of Rock Hill; two brothers, James H. Rawls and Ed Rawls Jr., both of Rock Hill; and her grandson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Bass Funeral Home.

Edna Burnette

FORT MILL - Mrs. Edna Burnette of Fort Mill died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at Mercy South Hospital in Pineville, N.C.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Archer United Methodist Church in Archer, Fla., with the Rev. Dan Dalton officiating.

Burial will be at Memorial Park East in Gainesville, Fla.

A native of Hamilton County, Mrs. Burnette was a homemaker and child caregiver. She formerly owned Wacassassa Marina and was a foster grandparent at Archer Elementary School. She was a member of Archer United Methodist Church, where she was a member of United Methodist Women. She was the widow of Horace Burnette.

Surviving are her son, Dr. H.J. Burnette of Fort Myers, Fla.; two daughters, Bonnie Burnette of Fort Mill and Patsy Trainham of Archer; her sister, Veda Bergadine of Gainesville; her

brother, Carey Hurst of Tallahassee; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 tonight at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home.

Fort Mill Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Benjamin Crevison

LANCASTER - Benjamin Curtis Crevison, infant son of Timothy Wayne Crevison and Jennifer Wells Crevison of 1540 Caskey Road died Saturday June 19, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Fort Lawn United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Curtis E. Wells officiating.

Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Timothy Wayne Crevison Jr. and Christopher Daniel Crevison, both of Lancaster; his sister, Jessica Leigh Crevison of Lancaster; his maternal grandparents, the Rev. Curtis Wells and Linda Dempsey Well of Fort Lawn; his paternal grandparents, Daniel Crevison of Tumwater, Wash., and Suzanne Donnelly Kraven of Auburn, Wash.; his maternal great-grandparents, Nick Webber of Lorain, Ohio, Raymond and Sandra Wells of Isonville, Ky., and Betty Johnson of Lorain; his paternal great-grandparents, Fred and Rose Donnelly of Pensacola, Fla., and Emogene Crevison of Marion, Ohio.

Memorials may be made to Fort Lawn United Methodist Church.

Minnie Criminger

HEATH SPRINGS - Mrs. Minnie Catoe Criminger, 88, formerly of 314 Earl Cauthen Road died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at White Oak Manor in Lancaster.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with the Revs. Glenn Carter and John Mullis officiating.

Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Kershaw County, Mrs. Criminger was a daughter of the late Frank M. Catoe and Nancy Katherine Catoe. She was the widow of Hazel J. Criminger. She was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, James H. Criminger of Florence; three daughters, Hazelene C. Truesdale of Columbia, Ozell C. Hunter of Shelby, N.C., and Josie C. Adams of Lancaster; her sister, Willie Chavis of Bishopville; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her daughter, Josie C. Adams, 1370 Jack Usher Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Elizabeth Freudenthal

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. - Mrs. Elizabeth C. Freudenthal, 89, of Menomonee Falls died Tuesday, June 15, 1999.

The funeral was Friday at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

Mrs. Freudenthal was the widow of Herman G. Freudenthal. She was member of North Presbyterian Church for more than 60 years.

She was a member of the Wauwatosa Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years.

Surviving are three sons, Jon P. Freudenthal of Rock Hill, David H. Freudenthal of Monomonee, Stephen Freudenthal of Spartanburg and Timothy M. Freudenthal of Wautoma, Wisc.; and 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Eula Funderburk

LANCASTER - Mrs. Eula Mae Jenkins Funderburk, 88, of 2698 Jerry Funderburk Road died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at Lancaster Convalescent Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Spring Hill Baptist Church, with the Revs. Greg Towler and Bennie Barwick officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chesterfield County, Mrs. Funderburk was a daughter of the late Roland Mae Jenkins and Annie Lenora Funderburk Jenkins. She was a homemaker and a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Brenda Hinson, Rhonda Sistare and Anita Funderburk, all of Lancaster; her sister, Vera Funderburk of Lancaster; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

Eloise Hardin

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Mrs. Eloise Wright Hardin, 93, died March 4, 1999, at the Medical Center of St. Andrews Estates

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodside Cemetery in Clover, with the Rev. Paul Hutchison officiating.

Mrs. Hardin was the daughter of the late William Wright and Imogene Wright. She was the widow of Lawrence Legare Hardin Jr.

She was a graduate of the Muhlenberg School of Nursing in Plainfield, N.J., in 1931. She and her husband lived in Plainfield for many years. They retired to Cape Coral, Fla. in 1969.

Surviving are two daughters, Virginia Eloise Hardin of Somerset, N.J. and Janet H. Parra of Basking Ridge, N.J.; her sister, Beatrice Croft of San Antonio, Texas; three granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.

Peggy Herron

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Peggy Strait Herron, 61, of 1942 Oak Park Road died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Cornerstone United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve Brown officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Cemetery.

A native of York County, Mrs. Herron was a daughter of the late Paul Gill Strait and Ollie Frances McCoy Strait. She was retired from Winthrop University after 36 years service. Mrs. Herron was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Clyde Herron; three sons, Randy Herron and Eric Herron, both of Rock Hill, and Strait Herron of York; her daughter, Paula Hough of Rock Hill; her brother, Paul Strait Jr. of Rock Hill; two sisters, Margie Pryor and Sara Strait, both of Rock Hill; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Boyce Jennings

FORT MILL - Mr. Boyce "Slick" Jennings, 82, of 9-B Archie St. died Monday, June 21, 1999 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Vision Ministries Full Gospel Church, with the Revs. David Jennings and Bobby Costner officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.

A lifelong resident of Fort Mill, Mr. Jennings was the owner and operator of Slick's Diner for more than 25 years. He was a disabled veteran of World War II, where he served in the Army Air Force. He was a member of Vision Ministries Full Gospel Church and Woodman of the World.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby Jennings; his son, the Rev. David Jennings of Rock Hill; three daughters, Linda J. Fite, Becki J. Yarborough and Joy Patterson, all of Fort Mill; two brothers,

Neal Jennings and Jake Jennings, all of Fort Mill; his sister, Elizabeth Rowell of Fort Mill; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Fort Mill Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Becki Yarborough, 121 West Hill St., Fort Mill.

YORK - Jerica R. Joseph, 9, of 153 Hall St. died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Pearl Kee

LANCASTER - Ms. Pearl Mae Kee, 90, of 214 Barrett Road died Monday, June 21, 1999, at Lancaster Convalescent Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Neal officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster, Ms. Kee was a daughter of the late Lizzie Beulah McCoy. She was retired from Springs Industries and a member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Doris Carter of Winnsboro and Vera Blackmon of Heath Springs; her sister, Flonnie Peach of Columbia; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Gene Price

LANCASTER - Mr. Gene Windfield Price, 56, of 735 W. Brooklyn Ave. died at home.

The graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Lancaster Memorial Park, with the Rev. Timothy H. Steen officiating.

A native of Chesterfield County, Mr. Price was a son of the late Ed Price and Leona Rollings Price. He was employed at Springs Industries Leroy Plant in the carding department.

Surviving are his son, Perry "Eddie" Price of the home; three brothers, Wade Harland Price of Catawba, Bobby B. Price of Jefferson and Joe C. Price of Cincinnati, Ohio; his sister, Sylvia P. McDonald of Canton, Ohio.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

Lyle Sullivan

ROCK HILL - Mr. Lyle A. Sullivan, 85, of 114 Neely Court died Monday, June 21, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. today at St. John's United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Timothy McClendon officiating. Burial will be at Mount Holly United Methodist Church cemetery.

Mr. Sullivan was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Browing-Skyes Sunday School Class and assisted leading the singing. He was retired from the Rock Hill Police Department with 30 years service. He was a graduate of the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville, Ky. Mr. Sullivan was top marksman for the police department during his service and competed annually at the South Carolina state competition. He organized the Rock Hill Police Retirees Club. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and Rock Hill Police Pistol Club.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Bickett Sullivan; his sister, Kathryn Isabell Hunsberger of Garden City, Kan.; two grandchildren; and his great-grandson.
