Melvin Misenheimer Jr.

CHESTER - Mr. Melvin Guy Misenheimer Jr., 67, of 120 Crestwood Circle died Monday, July 19, 1999, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Purity Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Mark Mason officiating.

A native of Cairo, Ga., Mr. Misenheimer was a son of Louise Thomason Misenheimer of Monroe, N.C., and the late Melvin Guy Misenheimer Sr. He was a graduate of Maxton High School in Maxton, N.C., and Presbyterian College. He was a retired coach, teacher and administrator with the Chester County school system.

He was a former president of the South Carolina High School Coaches Association and member of the Buck Club of Chester. He was a member of the Young Farmers Association and Chester County Builders Association.

Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife, Sue Boyce Misenheimer of Chester and his brother, Dan Misenheimer of Monroe, N.C.

The family will receive friends at home.

Judy Paul

CHESTER - Miss Judy Carol Paul, 43, died Thursday, July 22, 1999, at Laurens County Hospital in Clinton.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Barron Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Chapman and Chaplain Bob Thomason officiating.

Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Betty and Norman Youngblood of Chester; her father, Lesslie Paul of Chester; two brothers, Terry Paul of Spring Hill, Fla. and Dean Paul of Chester; and her stepbrother, Gene Youngblood of York.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Helen Percival

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Helen Galloway Percival, 78, of Rock Hill died Wednesday, July 21, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Anthony Dick officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Mecklenburg County, Mrs. Percival was a daughter of the late Anon John Galloway and Dora Souther Galloway. She was the widow of Harry W. Percival. She was retired from Ostrow Textile as a bookkeeper. She was a graduate of Queens College in Charlotte. Mrs. Percival was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Harriet Allen of Rock Hill and Beth Ross of Campobello; three sons, Woodrow Spencer Percival and Michael L. Percival, both of Rock Hill, and G. Alan Percival of Garden City; her brother, John Galloway of Belmont, N.C.; three sisters, Doris Sullivan of Melbourne, Fla., Vivian Pendergrass and Nancy Carpenter, both of Great Falls; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Bass Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 4858 McConnells Highway, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Anderson Allison

CLOVER - Mr. Anderson Charles "A.C." Allison of 201 Mobley St. died Friday, July 23, 1999, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jerusalem Baptist Church, with the Rev. W. T. Massey officiating. Internment will follow at Jerusalem Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Jerusalem Baptist Church and at other times at 201 Mobley St.

Generation Funeral Home in Clover is in charge.

Emma Boulware

GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Emma Boulware, 84, of 2 Cemetery St. died Thursday, July 22, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Mount Zion Baptist Church in Great Falls, with the Rev. Michael L. Golden officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Fairfield County, Mrs. Boulware was the daughter of the late Hair Belton and Nannie Belton. She was the widow of Henry Boulware.

Mrs. Boulware retired in 1983 from the Chester County schools as a cafeteria employee. She was a member of First Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she served on the Deaconess Board, Missionary Board and was a former member of the Senior Choir.

She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars Chapter No. 143.

Surviving are her grandsons, Fon Boulware of Henryville, Pa., who she raised, and Kent Owens of New Jersey; five granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 today at Washington Funeral Home.

The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Monday.

Sibbie Crosby

BALTIMORE - Mrs. Sibbie White Mayfield Crosby of Baltimore, formerly of the Baton Rouge community in Chester County, died Thursday, July 22, 1999, in Baltimore.

The funeral and burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Baltimore.

Betts Funeral Home in Baltimore and Denton Funeral Home in Chester are in charge.

J. Brainard Currence

CHARLOTTE - Mr. J. Brainard Currence Sr., 86, of 15700 Youngblood Road died Saturday, July 24, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Robert Jack and Graham Crawford officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of York County, Mr. Currence was a son of the late James Randolph Currence and Ella Brown Currence. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, Julia B. Sledge Sunday school class, and Elder Emeritus of the church. A graduate of Berryhill High School, he retired after 33 years as a maintenance foreman for the N.C. state Highway Department.

Surviving are his wife, Alma R. Currence of the home; two sons, Joe Currence of Charlotte and Benny Currence of Monroe, N.C.; and his sister, Jessie Hardin of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends after the service Monday and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, 1500 York Road, Charlotte, NC 28278.

McEwen Pineville Chapel is in charge.

Dwyane Feaster

WASHINGTON - Mr. Dwyane Donell Feaster, 32, of 2600 Naylor Road S.E., formerly of Chester, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester, with the Rev. Bobby Featherstone officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

A native of Washington, Mr. Feaster was son of Bertha Feaster of Hyattsville, Md., and the late Louis Edward Bervely. He attended public schools in Washington. He was a graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia. He was a computer consultant and a member of First Rising Mount Zion Baptist Church in Washington, D.C.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his brother, Vincent K. Feaster of Charleston.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at King's Funeral Home and at other times at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Feaster, 4540 Ivy Wood Drive, Rock Hill.

Byron Griffin

ROCK HILL - Mr. Byron David Griffin, 52, of 404 Frayser St. died Saturday, July 24, 1999, at home.

A private funeral will be held for Mr. Griffin.

A native of Pageland, Mr. Griffin was a son of the late Lester Griffin and Agatha Wilkerson Griffin. He worked as a bridge builder for U. S. Construction Company and Blythe Construction Company and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, Angel Wilt Griffin; four daughters, Heather Griffin of the home, Angie Cassada of Monroe, N. C., and Missie Griffin and Shannon Helms, both of Fort Mill; his brother, Charles Griffin of Concord, N. C.; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Lizzie McDonald

LANCASTER - Mrs. Lizzie Livingston McDonald, 97, died Saturday, July 24, 1999, at Lancaster Convalescent Center.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Westside City Cemetery, with the Rev. Curtis Cameron officiating.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. McDonald was a daughter of the late Will Livingston and Emma Livingston. She was a retired J.P. Stevens employee and a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church.

She was the widow of Walker McDonald.

Surviving are her 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Monday at Hartley Funeral Home.

Dan Riddle

GASTONIA, NC - Mr. Dan Clark Riddle, 74, of Wilkinson Care Center and formerly of Clover died Saturday, July 24, 1999.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Crowders Creek ARP Church, with the Rev. James D. McLurkin officiating. Internment will follow at Bethel Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Mr. Riddle was the son of the late Macie Pursley Riddle and Joe Springs Riddle. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II and a member of Crowders Creek ARP Church. He was retired from Whitin Machine Works and SKF Textile Products.

Surviving are a son, Clark D. Riddle of Clover; a brother, Sam Boyce of Elloree; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Clover.

Harold Smith

ALBEMARLE, N.C. - Mr. Harold "Smitty" Lendon Smith, 59, of 32435 Guard Road died Friday, July 23, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Monday at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, with Dr. Gary Pinion officiating and Paul Helms speaking. Burial will be at Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery in New London, N.C.

Born in Bladen County, N.C., Mr. Smith was a son of the late Freddie Brunt Smith and Nunnie Lee Shepherd Smith. A retired mechanic, he was a member of Harris Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Daphne Almond Smith of the home; two sons, Max Smith of Charlotte and Ronald Whitley of Rock Hill; three daughters, Debra Harvey of Waxhaw, N.C., Lisa Little of Albemarle, N.C., and Penny Laufer of Boca Raton, Fla.; his brother, Liston Smith of Bear Creek, N.C.; his sister, Eunice Shepherd of Crocket, Va.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle and at other times at the home.

Anderson Allison

CLOVER - Mr. Anderson Charles "A.C." Allison, 84, of 201 Mobley St. died Friday, July 23, 1999, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.

A native of York County, Mr. Allison was the son of the late William Henry Allison and Pearl Lee Armstrong Anderson. He was the widow of Bertha Mae Allison.

Mr. Allison was a lifelong member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, serving as the chairman of the board of deacons and as a Sunday school teacher. He was the president of Flat Rock Church Aid Society No. 12 and the Green Pond Friendly Aid Society No. 4.

Mr. Allison also was a member of the Clover Community Senior Citizen's Club, a longtime volunteer with the Good Neighbor Pantry and an early member of the NAACP in western York County.

He was a member of Wilson Lodge No. 303.

Surviving are his son, Bobby Allison of Shalimar, Fla.; his daughter, Mary Ruth Campbell of Clover; his brother, Glen Allison of Wilmington, Del.; five sisters, Catherine Brown of Philadelphia, Emily Miller of Baltimore and Eloise Floyd, Johnsie Allison and Fleta Burris, all of Clover; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 tonight at Jerusalem Baptist Church and at other times at 201 Mobley St.

Gertrude Bailey

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Gertrude Lockridge Bailey, 72, of 263 Twin Lakes Road died Sunday, July 25, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Greene Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ron Roddey officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Bailey was the daughter of the late William T. Lockridge and Mattie M. Rayfield Lockridge. She was retired from Smith Enterprises, where she worked as a gift package assembler. She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are her husband, John L. Bailey; three sons, Guy Bailey and Don Bailey, both of Rock Hill, and Dale Bailey of Jacksonville, Fla.; her brother, Hunter Lockridge of Rock Hill; two sisters, Kathleen Broome and Virginia Worthy, both of Rock Hill; five grandchildren; and her great-grandson.

Visitation will be 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and other times at the home of Guy Bailey, 499 Feemster Lane.
