Reola Knox

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Reola White "Pug" Knox of 470 Byers St. died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Tanglewood Healthcare Center in Ridgeway.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Nazareth Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. John T. McCoy officiating and the Revs. Mary Crosby and Rosa Evans assisting. The Rev. J. H. Bailey will give the eulogy. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Fairfield County, Mrs. Knox was a daughter of the late James Otis White and Irene Whitlock. Mrs. Knox was a retired domestic worker. She was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Hymn Choir No. 1 and the AP Society. She attended the public schools of Fairfield County.

Surviving are her husband, Fred Knox of the home; four daughters, Barbara White, Patricia White, Beverly White and Monica White, all of Rock Hill; her son, Jeff White of Rock Hill; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Robinson Funeral Home and at other times at the home and the home of her son, Jeff White, 624 E. Heckle Blvd., Rock Hill.

Frank Lineberger

RICHBURG - Mr. Frank Hammond Lineberger, 89, of 3343 Great Falls Highway died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Thomas Morrison and the Rev. Mr. Jon Dwyer officiating. Burial will be at Catholic Presbyterian Church cemetery.

A native of Charlotte, Mr. Lineberger was a son of the late Jake Newton Lineberger and Maude Gaston Lineberger. He was retired from Andrews Air Force Base in Forestville, Md., where he worked as a pipefitter. He was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Loretta Beauvais Lineberger of the home; three sons, David J. Higgins of Perry, Fla., Frank H. Lineberger of Richburg and Donald W. Lineberger of Portsmouth, Va.; five daughters, Betty Lou Turner and Sylvia J. Mountcastle, both of Richburg, Cecilia M. Price of Huntersville, N.C., Mary C. Oliver of Lynchburg, Va., and Patricia L. Revels of Troutville, Va.; two sisters, Leona McCowan of Clinton and Helen McManus of Chester; and 25 grandchildren.

The vigil service will be 7 tonight at Barron Funeral Home after which the family will receive friends until 9 p.m.

Clyburn Nichols

ROCK HILL - Mr. Clyburn Leroy Nichols, 61, of 2983 Tipperary Road died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Neely's Creek ARP Church, with the Rev. Bill Fleming officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Camden, Mr. Nichols was a son of Lois Lyles Nichols of Camden and the late Clyde C. Nichols. Mr. Nichols was a former York County Treasurer. He was a member of the York County Business Men's Club and the South Carolina Association of Counties, where he served as past president of the South Carolina Association of Auditors and Treasurers. He was a member of Neely's Creek ARP Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, M. Joann B. Nichols of the home; two sons, Christopher Clyde Nichols of Charleston and Brian Timothy Nichols of Rock Hill; his daughter, Kimberly Viscusie of Rock Hill; two brothers, Clyde C. Nichols Jr. of Lugoff and Kenneth S. Nichols of Camden; his sister, Delores Huggins of Camden; and his grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Thomas Bradford

PENSACOLA, Fla. - Mr. Thomas R. "Tommy" Bradford, 59, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, in Mobile, Ala.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Eastern Gate Funeral Home. Burial with Masonic Rites will be at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens.

A native of Fort Mill, Mr. Bradford was a son of Mary Katherine Bradford of Fort Mill and the late Robert Parks Bradford. A resident of Pensacola for 20 years, Mr. Bradford was a member of Ensley Masonic Lodge No. 278 Fin Pensacola and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Kiln, Miss.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his son, Thomas Robert Bradford Jr. of Waterloo; his daughter, Kimberly Bradford Jones of Honea Path; two brothers, Jesse P. Bradford of Belton and Harry P. Bradford of Fort Mill; three sisters, Mary Anne Philbeck and Kathy Neal, both of Fort Mill and Louise Blanks of Lancaster; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Friday at Eastern Gate Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Catoe

KERSHAW - Mrs. Elizabeth Twitty Catoe, 74, of 6198 Gold Mine Highway died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church, with the Revs. Hugh McKinney and Dr. Charles Rabon officiating. Burial will be at Kershaw City Cemetery.

A native of Westville, Mrs. Catoe was a daughter of the late Virge Twitty and Mary Dixon Twitty. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and was a retired office manager of State Farm Insurance in Kershaw.

Surviving are her husband, Willis J. Catoe; her son, Clay Willis Catoe of Kershaw; two daughters, Judy C. Cook of Pageland and Sharon C. Hammond of Kershaw; two brothers, J.D. Twitty of Kershaw and John Claxton Twitty of Lugoff; and her sister, Voncelle Outen of Kershaw.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Memorials may be made to the Gideons, 1317 Highway 9 Bypass, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Dixie Montgomery

LANCASTER - Mrs. Dixie Ann Knight Montgomery, 57, of 3044 E. Northwest Apartments died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at home.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Union Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Bobby Bailey officiating.

A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Montgomery was a daughter of Rolee Knight and Annie May Deese Knight. A homemaker, she was a member of Union Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Sonya Griffin of Lancaster; three sisters, Iris Blackmon and Frances Lloyd, both of Lancaster, and Doris Duke of Statesville, N.C.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Tina and John Griffin, 1769 Lynwood Drive, Lancaster.

C. Fred Schepper

ROCK HILL - Mr. C. Fred Schepper, 91, of 240 Pinewood Lane died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999 at Magnolia Manor.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Revs. Edward Harris and Charles LaFoy officiating. Burial will be at the Town of Peru Cemetery in Peru, Vt.

A native of Bronx, N.Y., Mr. Schepper was a son of the late Charles H. Schepper and Helma B. Soderberg Schepper. He was the widower of Jan Marie Schepper. He graduated from New York University with a degree in accounting. He was trained in music at St. Thomas School Episcopal Church in the Boys Choir. Mr. Schepper was a retired purchasing agent for Stein Hall/Stein Davis, now known as Hoechst Celanese for more than 30 years. He was former treasurer of the Peru Fire Department and the Town Listor for many years. He attended the Lando Church of God and was a member of Peru Congregational Church in Peru.

Surviving are two sons, John F. Schepper of Corpus Christi, Texas, and F. Charles Schepper of Rock Hill; three brothers, Donald Schepper of Charleston, Norman Schepper of Long Island, N.Y., and Allan Schepper of Corpus Christi, Texas; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Cauthen Funeral home and at other times at the home of Charles and Elaine Schepper, 240 Pinewood Lane.

Memorial may be to Lando Church of God, music fund, P.O. Box 135, Lando, SC 29724.

R.F. Scronce

YORK - Mr. R.F. "Bill" Scronce of Hord Road died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mr. Scronce was of the Baptist faith and was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are three daughters, Kay Alexander of Charleston, Billie S. Wood of York and Susan Conlon of Scenery Hill, Pa.; two brothers, Dan Scronce of Sharon and Alex Scronce of York; two sisters, Olean Derriso of York and Jo Ann McDaniel of Rock Hill; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at York Funeral Home.

LeRoy Sutton

OMAHA, Neb. - Mr. LeRoy C. Sutton, 75, of Omaha died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Omaha. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

A son of the late Edward Sutton and Sylvia Sutton, Mr. Sutton was a long-time mason and member of Nebraska No. 1. He was the widower of Dorothy Sutton.

Surviving are two daughters, Catherine Hardin of Rock Hill and Patricia McKinney; two brothers, Virgil Sutton and Bernard Sutton; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 tonight at Crosby Farnam Chapel, with a Masonic Memorial Service at 7 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or the Omaha Home for Boys.

Eugene Timms

KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. - Mr. Eugene Joseph Timms, 72, of 106 Jason Drive died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999, at Kings Mountain Hospital.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Central United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Harrison Hinson officiating. Burial will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery.

A native of Gaston County, Mr. Timms was a son of the late Turner Joseph Timms and Irene Kinsland Timms. He was the former owner of Timms Furniture for 42 years. He was a charter member of the board of directors at First Citizens Bank and was a member of the Jaycees and Lions Club.

He attended Western Carolina University. He was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the adult fellowship. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Ellie Arrellano Timms; four daughters, Debbie Milner of Spartanburg, Michelle Timms of Kings Mountain, Sharon Mitchell of Rock Hill and Tara Robinson of Charlotte; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Harris Funeral Home in Kings Mountain.

Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church building fund, P.O. Box 37, Kings Mountain, NC 28086.

James Wilkes Sr.

BALTIMORE, Md. - Mr. James Jewel Wilkes Sr. of Baltimore, formerly of Chester, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at Harborside Hartford Garden Nursing Home.

The family will be at the home of Carrie M. Clark, 1136 Sylvia Hicklin Drive, Chester.

Arrangements will be announced by Christopher King's Funeral Home.

Ruby Nunnery

FORT LAWN - Mrs. Ruby Funderburk Nunnery, 76, of 1185 Browns Ferry Road died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, with the Revs. N.J. Neely and Terry Ray officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Nunnery was a daughter of the late Amos Tolson Funderburk and Flossie Crenshaw Funderburk. She was the widow of Carl Henry Nunnery Sr. Mrs. Nunnery was retired from Grace Bleachery and was a charter member of Glenwood Heights Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Carl H. Nunnery Jr. of Lancaster and Tommy R. Nunnery Sr. of Fort Lawn; her brother, A.T. Funderburk of Moncks Corner; two sisters, Jacqueline Carnes and Maude Catoe, both of Lancaster; two half-sisters, Jennie R. Guy and Mary Anne Clifton, both of Lancaster; four grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her son, Tommy Nunnery Sr., 1173 Browns Ferry Road, Fort Lawn.

Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross Flood Relief Fund, 114 Williams St., Lancaster, SC 29720.
