LANCASTER - Mr. Richard Chase Huffman, 15, of 558 Mosteller Drive, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Pleasant Dale Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jessie Adams officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster County, Chase attended Lancaster High School and was a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church.

Surviving are his father and Richard G. "Ricky" Huffman Jr., and his wife, Crystal, of Lancaster; his mother, Tonya Veal Ellis of the home; his sister, Candace Doniell Ellis of the home; his maternal grandparents, Fred and Terry Veal of Lancaster; his paternal grandparents, Gerald and Sue Huffman of Lancaster; his paternal great-grandparents, Maxine Broach of Lancaster and Jo Huffman of Lancaster; and his maternal great-grandparents, Helen Estridge of Lancaster and Pearl Veal of Commerce, Ga.

The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Veal, 572 Mosteller Drive, Lancaster.

Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Deal Baptist Church youth programs, 133 S. Potter Road, Lancaster. SC 29720.

Mary Perkins

KERSHAW - Mrs. Mary Ruth Clodfelter Perkins, 60, of 406 W. Church St. died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at home.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Eubanks officiating.

A native of Dexter, Mo., Mrs. Perkins was a daughter of Ruth Branham Bailey of Dexter, Mo., and the late Max Clodfelter. She was retired from FN Manufacturing and was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Sgt. Major Gary O. Perkins; her son, Staff Sgt. G. Douglas Perkins of Valdosta, Ga.; her daughter, Sharon Wilson of Ridgeway; three brothers, Max Clodfelter of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Roy Clodfelter of Litchfield, Ky., E.G. Bailey Jr. of Dexter, Mo.; her sister, Ellen Barstad of Nevada; and her grandson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Danny Taylor Jr.

ROCK HILL - Danny Dawayne Taylor Jr., infant son of Kathy Vinson and Danny Dawayne Taylor Sr., died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A graveside service will be noon today at Mount Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Larry Robertson officiating.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother, Charles Vinson of Rock Hill; his maternal grandmother, Cora V. Lumpkin of Rock Hill; maternal grandfather, Willie James McFadden of Rock Hill; paternal grandparents, Bobbie Jean and Tony Warren of Rock Hill; maternal great-grandmother, Marcella Vinson of Rock Hill and maternal great-grandfather, James Vinson of Monroe, N.C.

The family will be at the home, 1110 Cherokee Ave., Rock Hill.

Michael Wade

ROCK HILL - Mr. Michael Gregg Wade, 52, of 2251 Indian Trail died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Catawba Ward, with Bishop Pieter Reynders officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Wade was a son of Horace Gary Wade Sr. and Frances Canty Wade of Rock Hill. Mr. Wade was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Catawba Ward. He worked as a dental lab technician for 30 years. He coached church league softball and was an avid hunter.

Surviving in addition to his parents, are his wife, Gwen Clowney Wade; his son, Michael Lee Wade of the home; two daughters, Krissi Wade of the home and Niki Wade Hovis of Rock Hill; his brother, Gary Wade Jr. of Rock Hill; his sister, Sherry W. Osborn of Rock Hill; and his grandson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

J.O. Weaver

CALHOUN, Ga. - The Rev. James Oran "J.O." Weaver, 92, of 2049 Love Bridge Road died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at Calhoun Health Care Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, with the Revs. Lamar Bearden, Jether Cochran and Bob Osterle officating.

A native of Gilmer County, Ga., the Rev. Weaver was a son of the late Aschel Lafayette Weaver and Nettie Thompson Weaver. He was a retired farmer and textile employee. He was a minister for 55 years having pastored at White Graves Baptist, Union Grove Baptist Church, Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and conducted revivals throughout Gordon County, Ga. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Burial will be at Fain Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Pauline Shope Weaver; two daughters, Fran Duncan of Ocala, Fla., and Barbara Roth of Rock Hill; two sons, James Weaver and Billy Weaver, both of Calhoun; two sisters, Dora Moss of Titusville, Fla. and Vennie Watkins of Calhoun; four brothers, Marvin Weaver, Sala Weaver and C.L. Weaver, all of Calhoun, and George Weaver of Armurchee, Ga.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home is in charge.

James Wilkerson Sr.

NORTH CHARLESTON - Mr. James H. Wilkerson Sr., 79, of North Charleston died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at a Charleston hospital.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Cooper River Baptist Church.

A native of Hickory Grove, Mr. Wilkerson was a son of the late Thomas Wilkerson and Myrtis Fowler Wilkerson. He was a retired letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Cooper River Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps in World War II and was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal and American Theater Service Medal. He attended school in York County and was a security officer at The Citadel. He was a member of the State Police Officer's Association, the Antique Auto Club of America, the Horseless Carriage Club of America North Carolina Regional Group and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Surviving are his wife, Irma Dean Ward Shuler Wilkerson; three sons, James Harvey Wilkerson of Wrightsville Beach, N.C., Phillip Duane Wilkerson of Hanahan and Van Wilkerson of Salisbury, N.C.; three step daughters, Audrey L. Orvin and Yevett Shuler, both of Macedonia, and Rene Shuler Wilson of Summerville; his brother, William Thomas Wilkerson of Hickory Grove; three sisters, Mazie Dickson of Hickory Grove, Geraldine Thompson of Charlotte and Bonnie J. Dowdle of Sharon; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren.

Irma Barnes

MYRTLE BEACH - Mrs. Irma Elizabeth Barnes, 77, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach. Burial will follow at Ocean Woods Cemetery.

Mrs. Barnes was the daughter of the late Willie Lee and Dora Ellen Edmonson. She was the widow of Shannon Barnes. Mrs. Barnes was a registered nurse at Ocean View Memorial Hospital for many years, before retiring at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. She was a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina Nursing School.

Surviving are two daughters, Nancy E. Barnes of Florence and Anne B. Compton of Rock Hill; two sisters, Frances Anderson of Conway and Edna Godfrey of Greensboro, N.C.; and two granddaughters.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Goldfinch Beach Chapel.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Barnes' name to the youth choir or building fund of Oakland Baptist Church in Rock Hill.

Billie Goodwin

ROCK HILL - Miss Billie Bert Goodwin, 73, of Rock Hill died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at Lexington County Hospital in Columbia.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bass Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Steve Kirby officiating.

A native of Union County, Miss Goodwin was the daughter of the late Fletcher Goodwin and Blanche Broome Goodwin. She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are two brothers, Phil Goodwin of Atlanta and Gene Goodwin of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Bass Funeral Home.

Donald Maley

TEGA CAY - Mr. Donald Jennings Maley, 71, of 1164 Molokai Drive died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The memorial service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Corkey Spitler officiating.

A native of San Francisco, Mr. Maley was a son of the late Lester Jennings Maley and Helen Katherine Palaski. He was retired from IKG Industries and was a charter member of Lake Wylie Lutheran Church. Mr. Maley served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and attended George Washington College in Falls Church, Va.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy Lee Childs Maley; his son, Charles Jennings Maley of Spartanburg; his daughter, Christine Maley Swain of Winston-Salem, N.C.; his sister, Dawn Maley; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends after the memorial service at the home.

Joyce Pastor

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Joyce Jaskowiak Pastor, 59, of 997 Rawlinson Road died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at home.

A native of Passaic, N.J., Mrs. Pastor was the daughter of the late Joseph Jaskowiak and the late Jean Jaskowiak. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Pastor; her son, Joseph Pastor of the home; two daughters, Jennifer Pastor of the home and Suzanne Reardon of Chesapeake, Va.; and her sister, Beverly Brancaccio of Elmwood Park, N.J.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Charles Payne

GREAT FALLS - Mr. Charles Edward Payne, 79, of 1691 Richburg Road died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at home.

The graveside service will be 3 p.m. today at Graveside Greenlawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Curtis Cameron officiating.

A native of Kershaw County, Mr. Payne was a son of the late Logan Payne and the late Maude Vincent Payne Phillips. He was a retired postal carrier from the Great Falls Post Office. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served during World War II. He attended Kershaw County schools.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn B. Payne; two sons, Tal Payne and Bruce Payne, both of Great Falls; his brother, L.T. Payne of Great Falls; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home is in charge.

Margaret Anderson

LANCASTER - Mrs. Margaret Baker Anderson, 80, of 1005 E. Shore Drive, Cedar Pine Lake, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at her home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Ernie Thompson and Sam Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Cheraw, she was a daughter of the late Bernice Baker and Rachael Rebecca White Baker. She was the widow of Sam Faulkner Anderson.

She was a LPN with Springs Memorial Hospital for more than 30 years and retired from White Oak Manor in 1996. She was an alumni of Thornwell Children's Home and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was a choir member.

Surviving are five daughters, Hope Anderson, Mary Gibson, Joyce Weatherbee, Shirley Hunter and Linda Jo Vaughn, all of Lancaster; three sisters, Thelma Packer of Elizabethtown, N.C., and Mae Bennett and Lila Lewis, both of Lumberton, N.C.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway in Lancaster.

Gladys Crawford

LANCASTER - Mrs. Gladys Montgomery Crawford, 75, of 865 Confederate Ave. died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Grace Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Rev. John Nuse officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of York County, Mrs. Crawford was a daughter of the late William D. Montgomery and Laura Morris Montgomery. She was a retired crossing guard at Central School, a homemaker and a member of Grace Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her husband, Howard Walker Crawford; three sons, Robert Crawford, George Crawford and Richard Crawford, all of Lancaster; her brother, William D. Montgomery of Lesslie; her sister, Margie Bradford of York; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hartley Funeral Home.
