Marguerite Adams

EDGEMOOR - Mrs. Marguerite G. Adams, 77, of 4339 Edgeland Road died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Lando Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Richard Harrison officiating. Burial will be at Lando Cemetery.

A native of Greensboro, N.C., Mrs. Adams was a daughter of the late Charles Monroe Glass and Margaret Thompson Glass. Mrs. Adams was a retired lunchroom manager at Lewisville Middle School. She was a graduate of Bessemer High School and was a member of Lando Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Ernest "E.L." Adams; her son, Lynn Adams of York; her daughter, Linda Adams Blackwell of Chester; her sister, Catherine G. Bailey of Greensboro, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Lando Baptist Church or Lando Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 198, Lando, SC 29724.

Margaret Cagle

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Margaret Frances Burris Cagle, 81, of 1948 Marrett Blvd. died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Revs. Bud Queen and Rick Sturgis officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.

A native of Albemarle, N.C., Mrs. Cagle was a daughter of the late Coy Burris and Rotha Eudy Burris. She was the widow of Thomas Allen Cagle. She retired from Spring Industries and was a member of Oakwood Acres Baptist Church.

Surviving are six daughters, Judy Rowland of Kannapolis, N.C., Tommie Efird of Troy, N.C., Nancy Atkins of Gold Hill, N.C., Dedria Cagle and Helen Bratton, both of York, and Terri Misenheimer of Fort Mill; two sisters, Elizabeth Russell and Faye Cook, both of Albemarle, N.C.; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Cauthen Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Northwest Funeral Home in Charlotte.

Cordie Morgan

GASTONIA, N.C. - Mrs. Cordie Jane Morgan Morgan, 90, of Woodwynn Drive, formerly of Clover, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Clover, with the Revs. Harry Bryant and Marvin Greenway. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery.

Mrs. Morgan was retired from Bowling Green Spinning and was a member of Bowling Green First Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Kenneth Morgan and Charles Morgan, both of York, and Lionel Morgan of Clover; five daughters, Geraldine Moran of Danville, Va., Mary Sue Ballard and Pat Yancey, both of Gastonia, and Dianne Sams and Gilda Warlick, both of Clover; her brother, John Morgan of Shelby, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Gilda Warlick, 1683 N. Highway 321, Clover.

Tim Mundy

CHARLOTTE - Mr. Tim Derk Mundy, 41, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be private.

A native of Mecklenburg County, N.C., Mr. Mundy was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He was employed by Air Plus Co. for 25 years as a heating and air conditioning specialist.

Surviving are his mother, Louise Mundy of Rock Hill; his son, Wesley Tim Mundy of Charlotte; his daughter, Monica Mundy of Charlotte; his sister, Sherrie Holcomb of Charlotte; his granddaughter; and Pamela Mundy Jordan.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at McEwen Funeral Service, Charlotte Chapel.

B. Franklin Robinson

LANCASTER - Mr. Broadus Franklin "Frankie" Robinson, 52, of 240 Ranson Road died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Kelli Waters and Wayne Dickson officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Robinson was a son of Marguerite "Polly" Funderburk Robinson of Lancaster and the late Broadus Robinson. Mr. Robinson was a retired merchant. He was member of the American Legion Post No. 31, the National Rifle Association and Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Billie Sue Belk Robinson; his son, Todd Hartley of Heath Springs; two daughters, Rhonda McManus of Charlotte and Jill Shaw of Lancaster; two sisters, Trudy Stewart and Kathy Kirkley, both of Lancaster; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his mother, 244 Ranson Road, Lancaster.

Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 696 Wilson Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Bill Phillips Sr.

BETHEL, N.C. - Mr. Braskel "Bill" E. Phillips Sr., 79, of 207 Cecil St., formerly of Rock Hill, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999.

The funeral was Wednesday at Heritage Freewill Baptist Church in Bethel, with the Revs. Walter Summerlin and Gordon Hart officiating. Burial was Thursday at Edgecombe Memorial Park in Tarboro, N.C.

A native of Lancaster, Mr. Phillips was a son of the late John Albert Phillips and Ellen Baker Phillips. Mr. Phillips was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a former Bethel City police officer and night foreman at East Carolina University. He was a member of Heritage Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Marie H. Phillips; his daughter, Gloria Jean Reynolds of Winterville, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Sera Deans Huff of Willow Spring, N.C., and Renee Deans Boltinhouse of Winterville; two brothers, Max Phillips of Rock Hill and Johnny Phillips of Indian Trail, N.C.; three sisters, Ila Porter, Lillian Huffstetler and Faye Branham, all of Rock Hill; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

George Alexander

LAKE WYLIE - Mr. George Wilkins Alexander, 88, of Atria, Lake Wylie, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at River Hills Community Church, with the Rev. Bruce Jones officiating. Burial will be at River Hills Community Church cemetery.

Mr. Alexander was the widower of Cecile Cotter Alexander. He was a University of Washington graduate and earned his master's degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was retired from Dravo Corp. in Pittsburgh as a civil engineer.

He was a member of Tau Beta Pi, an engineering scholastic honorary society, American Society of Civil Engineers and the Armstrong Masonic Lodge of Willmington, Del. While living at River Hills, he held offices with the River Hills Community Church, River Hills Community Church Cemetery Association and Marina Club.

Surviving are his daughter, Jane A. Givens of West Newton, Mass.; and two brothers, John Pettigrew of Bellingham, Wash., and Joseph Alexander of Everett, Wash.

The family will receive friends after the funeral at Atria, 4877 Charlotte Highway, Lake Wylie.

Ross Bagley

CHESTER - Mr. Ross "Pete" Bagley, 74, of 109 Hardin St. died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Chester County Hospital.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Cemetery.

A native of Chester, Mr. Hardin was a son of the late Harley and Gertrude Garrison Bagley. He was a retired parts manager of the Chevrolet dealership in Chester, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Chester High School.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Sue Bagley; three sons, Michael Bagley, Patrick Bagley and Timothy Bagley, all of Chester; two sisters, Azalee Cassells and Elmar Castles, both of Chester; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the home.

Barron Funeral Home is in charge.

Euzelia Deese

KERSHAW - Mrs. Euzelia Bradley Deese, 93, of 8001 Old Jefferson Highway died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at home.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lancaster Memorial Park, with the Rev. Elton Lane officiating.

A native of Cherokee County, N.C., Mrs. Deese was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Nellie B. Bradley. She was a member of White Springs Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries.

Surviving is her daughter, Mildred W. Christman of Kershaw.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge.

Odell Bowser

CHESTER - Mr. Odell "Honey Moon" Bowser of West End Road in Carlisle died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Red Hill Baptist Church in Leeds, with the Rev. Roosevelt Adams officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Bowser was a son of the late Manson Bowser and the late Mazzie Land Bowser. He was the widower of Annie Ruth Crosby Bowser. He was a member of the Red Hill Baptist Church and attended Chester County public schools.

Surviving are two sons, Odell Bowser Jr. of Newark, N.J., and Robert Meyner Bowser of Baltimore; five daughters, Robbin Bowser, Elaine Lewis and Flossie Mae Kemp, all of Newark, and Ava Peterman and Linda Parham, both of Irvington, N.J.; two brothers, John Bowser and Ellerbee Bowser, both of Chester; three sisters, Sadie Blowe of Elizabeth, N.J., and Mary Crank and Allean Garner, both of Carlisle; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at Christopher King's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 703 Old York Road in Chester, and 1 p.m. Tuesday at Red Hill Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at the home of Mary Crank, 3746 W. End Road in Carlisle.

Rachel Gardner

BIRDSNEST, Va. - Mrs. Rachel Love Gardner, 98, formerly of Clover, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Doughty Funeral Home, Exmore, Va., with the Rev. Paul Aspas officiating. Burial will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill Cemetery in York, with the Rev. Dr. William K. Neely officiating.

A native of York County, Mrs. Gardner was the daughter of the late James Love and Sarah Elizabeth Land Love. She was a member of Clover Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of William L. Gardner.

Surviving are her daughter, Helen G. Bell of Birdsnest, Va.; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at M.L. Ford Sons Funeral Home.

Richard Munn

ROCK HILL - Mr. Richard Earl Munn, 63, of 3152 Eden Terrace Extension died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital Hospice Private Care Unit in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Greene Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. James McGill officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery in Fort Mill.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Munn was a retired instructor of York Technical College, where he taught machine shop tool and die skills, blue printing and metallurgy. He was a member of the S.C. Technical Association and the York Masonic Lodge 385 AFM in Rock Hill. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Smith Munn; his son, Ritchy Munn of Rock Hill; his daughter, Rhonda McClain of Rock Hill; three brothers, Frank Munn of Rock Hill, Doug Munn of Fort Mill and Robert Munn of Monroe, N.C.; five sisters, Jane Whisonant, Juanita Hughes and Darcene Harris, all of Rock Hill, Terry McAteer of York and Mary Crawford of Fort Mill; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Greene Funeral Home from 7 to 9 tonight and at other times at 3152 Eden Terrace Extension in Rock Hill.

Nancy Hardin

BLACKSBURG - Mrs. Nancy White Hardin, 64, of 412 Indian Springs Road died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center in Gaffney.

The graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Canaan United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles Phillips officiating.

A native of Cherokee County, Mrs. Hardin was a daughter of the late Walter Claude White and Nancy Dickson White. She was a member of the Canaan United Methodist Church and was employed by MEMC Inc. in Moore.

Surviving are her husband, Billy Hardin; and two sisters, Helen W. Falls of Blacksburg and Catherine W. Davis of Saraland, Ala.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. tonight at White Columns Funeral Home in Blacksburg.
