BELTON - Mr. Schuyler Bruce Spelts, 24, of 1506 Shady Grove Road, formerly of Rock Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Greenville County Hospital.

Services will be private.

A native of Houston, Texas, Mr. Spelts was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his parents, Bruce and Gail Spelts of Belton; his brother, Wyatt Spelts of Rock Hill; his sister, Paytra Spelts of Belton; and his paternal grandmother, Sarah Spelts of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Greene Funeral Home in Rock Hill.

The family requests no flowers, but memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Alvenia Bloomingdale

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Alvenia Minnie Johanningsmeier Bloomingdale, 93, of Spring Arbor, 1800 India Hook Road, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.

A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grandview Memorial Park. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Ray Mohrmann officiating.

A native of Belvidere, Ill., Mrs. Bloomingdale was a daughter of the late Fred Johanningsmeier and Wilhelmina Kampfranz. She was the widow of Paul David Bloomingdale. She was a retired real-estate broker and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her son, Ronald Bloomingdale of Rock Hill; her sister, Bertha Bosselman of Ridge Manor, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Ronald and Sally Bloomingdale, 215 Hillcrest Ave.

Willene Hilton

LANCASTER - Mrs. Willene Baker Hilton, 87, of 3912 Timrod Road died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Timrod Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wayne Bateman officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Kershaw, Mrs. Hilton was a daughter of the James Criminger Baker. A retired seamstress, Mrs. Hilton was a member of Timrod Baptist Church and the Timrod Senior Citizens.

Surviving are two sons, Henry Hilton of Wayside, W. Va., and Ho-ward "Buck" Hilton of Lancaster; her daughter, Sara Schulz of Satellite Beach, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the home of Alma Hilton in Bethune.

Irene Jones

LANCASTER - Mrs. Irene Hough Jones, 87, formerly of 5196 Flat Creek Road, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Pleasant Plain Baptist Church Cemetery in Kershaw, with the Rev. Gary Harris officiating.

A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Jones was a daughter of the late Frank Columbus Hough and Alice Jane Faulkenberry Hough. She was the widow of Frank Jones. She was retired from Springs Industries and a member of Pleasant Plain Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sisters, Ada Horton of Heath Springs and Louise Usher of Lancaster; and a number of nieces nephews.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Plain Baptist Church building fund, 3795 Pleasant Plain Road, Kershaw, SC 29067.

Kathleen Kilpatrick

CHESTER - Mrs. Kathleen Soesbee Kilpatrick, 83, of 505 W. White St. died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Barron Funeral Home, with the Revs. Jim Sanders and Kenneth Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

A native of Buncombe County, N.C., Mrs. Kilpatrick was a daughter of the late John W. Soesbee and Lula Dalton Soesbee Knight. She was the widow of James E. Kilpatrick. A homemaker, she was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She attended the schools of Asheville, N.C.

Surviving are two sons, Hermon J. Kilpatrick of Fort Lawn and Charles W. Kilpatrick of Chester; his daughter, Nancy K. Penland of Chester; his brother, Edward L. Knight of Gloster, Va.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Gladys Dunfee

BELPRE, Ohio - Ms. Gladys Jane Dunfee, 92, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000.

A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. today at Cedargrove Cemetery, with Jerry Caplinger officiating.

Surviving are her brother, Ray Dufee of Coolville, Ohio; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Tatman Funeral Home in Belpre.

Lawrence Martin

LANCASTER - Mr. Lawrence Henry Martin, 87, of 1022 Westover Place died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Roy Barnes officiating. Entombment will be at Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum.

A native of Paterson, N.J., Mr. Martin was a son of the late Ernest Martin and Gertrude Newton Martin. He was the widower of Ruth Hunt Martin. Mr. Martin was a retired vice president of production for Morrison Textile Machinery Co. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.

Surviving are his son, Larry Martin of Lancaster; his daughter, Carole Den Bleyker of Raleigh, N.C.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Ivory Price

RICHBURG - Mrs. Ivory M. Simpson Price, 59, of 4441 Hunter Road died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Loving Charity Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.J. Baxter officiating and the Revs. Sam Latta and Moses Lightner assisting. Burial will follow at Mount Nebo AME Zion Church.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Price was a daughter of the late Asie Simpson and Eliza Scott Simpson.

She was a member of the Loving Charity Baptist Church, where she was the leader of the food committee, was a pastor's aide and was an usher. She was a former member of the Mount Nebo AME Zion Church and also was a member of Dew Drop Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 113.

She attended Finley High School in Chester and was a former nurse at Presbyterian Hospital and Hawthorne Nursing Center in Charlotte.

Surviving are her husband, Samuel Price of Charlotte; three sons, Robert Simpson of Richburg, Jeffery Price of Fort Lawn and Neal Price of Charlotte; her daughter, Anita Douglas of Fort Lawn; her sister, Azalee Caldwell of Richburg; two brothers, Ernest Simpson of Richburg and Levester Simpson of Great Falls; and 11 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the residence. There will be Eastern Star Rites at 7 tonight at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester. The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at King's Funeral Home.

Wilma Lowery

LANCASTER - Mrs. Wilma Hough Lowery, 78, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church, with the Rev. Leroy Lowery officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Lowery is a daughter of the late William Curtis Hough and Florence Kennington Hough. She was retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Curtis Lowery of Kershaw; her daughter, Evelyn Lowery Jones of Palatka, Fla.; three brothers, Frank Hough, Ward Hough and Bruce Hough, all of Lancaster; four sisters, Pauline Carnes, Georgia Moseley, Euree Moseley and Reba Ballard; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her grandson, Dennis Lowery, 2103 Walden Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Ina Singleton

WESTMINSTER - Mrs. Ina Adeline Burton Collins Singleton, 86, of 504 Westminster Highway died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Church of God, with the Revs. Dan Faulkenberry, Haskell Lee, Tim Kerns, Brian Bellott and Don Corley officiating. Burial will be at Rider Mount Pentecostal Holiness Church cemetery.

A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Singleton was a daughter of the late King Lemuel Burton and Cora Cox Burton. She was retired from Dunlop. She was a member of Calvary Church of God, where she was a member of the adult Sunday school class, a former choir member and lifetime member of DAVA. She was the widow of Bennie Franklin Collins and Ralph Singleton.

Surviving are six sons, Clint Collins, Bobby Collins, Alton Collins and the Rev. Garlon Collins, all of Walhalla, Benjie Collins of West Union and Jack Collins of Rock Hill; six daughters, Ella Mae Lee of Walhalla, Sara Reid of Tamassee, Retha Cobb McDermott and Janice Shetler, both of Seneca, Nell Ree Nardella of Indian Harbour Beach, Fla., and Maletta Bond of the home; two brothers, Lawton Burton and K.L. Burton, both of Westminster; three sisters, Nora Blackwell, Ethel Pelfrey and Evelyn Marcus, all of Westminster; 27 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

John Strain

SMYRNA - Mr. John Timothy Strain, 39, of 1500 McGill Road died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral was Monday at Bratton Funeral Home in York, with the Rev. Paul Ballard officiating.

A native of York, Mr. Strain was a heavy-equipment operator. He was a son of the late James Broadus Strain Jr. and Jeraline Stewart Strain.

Surviving are his son, John Timothy Strain II of Stanfield, N.C.; his daughter, Kristy Michelle White of York; three brothers, Marvin Lynn Strain of Smyrna, James Russell Strain of Montgomery, Pa., and William Broadus Strain of North Myrtle Beach; his sister, Sherry Strain Youmans of Rock Hill; his grandmother, Louise Stewart of Clover; and close friends with whom Mr. Strain lived, Robin and Naaman Dover of York.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home.

Albert Blackwell

BLACKSBURG - Mr. Albert Blackwell, 85, of 141 Ruby Road died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at Beverly Healthcare in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Christian Fellowship Church, with the Revs. Calvin Hall, M.P. Hampton, Lucky Earls and Willie Lanier officiating. Entombment will be at Clingman Memorial Gardens.

A native of Blacksburg, Mr. Blackwell was a son of the late John Blackwell and Molly Carroll Blackwell. He was a member of Christian Fellowship Church.

Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Parris Blackwell; four sons, Russell Blackwell of Cowpens, Gene Blackwell of Rock Hill and Winfred Blackwell and Jerry Blackwell, both of Blacksburg; three brothers, Victor Blackwell of Kings Mountain, N.C., Jimmy Blackwell of Blacksburg and John Blackwell of Pacolet; four sisters, Rosa May Peterson, Viola Oliver and Louise Oliver, all of Kings Mountain, and Anna May Denton of Pacolet; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at White Columns Funeral Service and at other times at home.

Katie Bodie

CLOVER - Mrs. Katie Edmunds Bodie, 88, of 413 Knox St. died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paul Hutchinson officiating. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery.

A native of Walhalla, Mrs. Bodie was a daughter of the late Wesley Jennings Edmunds and Kate Duncan Edmunds. She was an English and Latin teacher in the Clover school district for 20 years.

She was a graduate of Winthrop College and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society of Professional Educators, the York County Education Association, the National Education Association and the South Carolina Education Association, where she was on the Council of Delegates.

At Clover High School, she was a sponsor of the senior class and was named Star Teacher three times. The year before her retirement, the State Department of Education named her an Outstanding South Carolina Teacher. She was president of the Parent-Teacher Association, program chairman of the Clover Woman's Club, superintendent of the Adult Division of the First United Methodist Church and a teacher of the Ladies Bible Class. She held various offices in United Methodist Women.

Surviving are her husband, David R. Bodie Sr.; two sons, David Bodie Jr. and James W. Bodie, both of Char-lotte; two grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at M.L. Ford Sons Funeral Home.
