Frances Quinn

HOPE MILLS, N.C. - Mrs. Frances Mixon Quinn, 67, of 6001 Loudon Circle, formerly of Rock Hill, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Carroll Memorial Baptist Church, with the Revs. Tony Buchanan and Richard Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park in Rock Hill.

Surviving are her husband, Marlon Quinn; three sons, Doug Quinn of Goose Creek, David Quinn of Hope Mills and Robert Quinn of Charlotte; her daughter, Donna Quinn of Goldsboro, N.C.; two brothers, Melvin Mixon of Decatur, Ala., and Frank Mixon of Fort Mill; her sister, Dot Parker of Lumberton, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and her great-granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to Carroll Memorial Baptist Church hymn fund, 2220 Camden Road, Fayetteville, NC

Naomi Stogner

LANCASTER - Mrs. Naomi Stack Stogner, 90, 438-A Colonial Ave., formerly of Paw Creek, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Thrift United Methodist Church in Charlotte, with the Revs. Gerald Ramsey and Kenneth Wren officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, West, in Charlotte.

A native of Union, N.C., Mrs. Stogner was a daughter of the late Walter Stack and Wincie L. Parker Stack. She was the widow of Bonner Stogner. A homemaker, she was a member of Thrift United Methodist Church.

Surviving are five brothers, J.W. Stack of Severn, Md., Odell Ingram of Greenville and James A. Ingram, Hazel Ingram and Howard Ingram, all of Lancaster; and her sister, Edith Sims of Lancaster.

Memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 3052 Taxahaw Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or Thrift United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 205, Paw Creek, NC 28130.

Willie Stroud

RICHBURG - Mr. Willie James Stroud, 51, of 115 Alice Gaston Road died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Love Charity Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.J. Baxter officiating and the Revs. Moses Lightner and Charlie McCullough assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mr. Stroud was a son of the late Ivory Stroud and Mae Liza Beaty Boulware. He was a member of Love Charity Baptist Church. He attended the public school of Chester County and was a former employee of Laxton Construction Co. in Charlotte.

Surviving are his son, Mike Stevenson of Chester; his grandmother who reared him, Luella Beaty of Richburg; and his grandson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester, and at other times at the home of Luella Beaty, 110 Circle Drive, Richburg.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at King's Funeral Home.

Jessie Brown

YORK - Mr. Jessie Brown, 67, of 107 Autumn Place died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. today at Gold Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. George McCoy officiating. Burial will be at White Hill AME Zion Church cemetery.

A native of York, Mr. Brown was a son of the late Samuel Brown Sr. and Willie Mae Brown. He was a former auto mechanic at Dunlap Johnson Chevrolet where he worked for 10 years. He also was a former employee of American Thread in Clover and for the city of York. He joined White Hill AME Zion Church at an early age.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Boulware Brown; three daughters, Debra Wilform, Berdell Rowell and Eleanor Feaster, all of Charlotte; two sisters, Mary Brown and Janie Berry, both of Hickory, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:30 p.m. today at the church.

Helen Cairco

FORT MILL - Mrs. Helen Shelton Cairco, 68, of 1390 Hensley Road died Thursday, Jan 27, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Fort Mill Church of God, with the Rev. David Kemp officiating.

A native of Rome, Ga., Mrs. Cairco was a daughter of the late Arthur Shelton and Ella McLemore Shelton. She was the widow of David Cairco Jr. A homemaker, she was a member of the Fort Mill Church of God, where she was chairperson of the Communion Committee and a member of the Young At Heart seniors group.

Surviving are her son, David Cairco of Fort Mill; four daughters, Barbara Steele of Fort Lawn, Jean Ferrell of Rock Hill, and Ruth Dover and Angie Walker, both of Fort Mill; four sisters, Alice Wilson and Lucy Wilson, both of Fort Mill, and Judy Mae Shelton and Nancy Starnes, both of Rock Hill; her adopted son, John E. Wilson of Fort Mill; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 today at Fort Mill Church of God and at other times at the home of Ruth Dover, 200 Old Springs Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Memorials may be made to the Fort Mill Church of God, 221 Academy St., Fort Mill, SC 29715.

James Glenn

ROCK HILL - Mr. James David "Jim" Glenn, 53, of 1234 Westover Circle died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.

A native of Charlotte, Mr. Glenn was a son of the late Murry Guinn Glenn Sr. and Laura Mae Ayers Glenn. He was employed at Burns Chevrolet for 33 years. He was a member of Second Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Vivian McClary Glenn; his daughter, Allison Faye Glenn Wright of York; his brother, Murry Glenn Jr. of Rock Hill; two sisters, Nancy Demby and Phyllis Ayers, both of Rock Hill; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society of York County, 339 E. Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Mable Richardson

GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Mable Cunningham Richardson, 77, of 26 Circle St. died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Chester County Hospital in Chester.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Grove AME Zion Church, with Dr. Z.B. Wells officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Richardson was a daughter of the late Robert Cunningham and the late Nannie Cunningham. Mrs. Richardson was a member of Pleasant AME Zion Church. She was the widow of Levi Richardson.

Surviving are five daughters, Rosa Crosby, Louise Gill, Hedi Jo Richard-son and Mary Ann Richardson, all of Great Falls, and Yvonne Edmund of Lancaster; three sons, Willie James Richardson of Lancaster, Stanley Richardson of New York and Victor R. Richardson of Charlotte; her sister, Ethel Rene Beaty of Great Falls; three brothers, Gilbert Cunningham of Great Falls, Lawrence Jamison of Greenville and James Lee Jones of Lancaster; 27 grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 tonight at Washington Funeral Home in Great Falls. The body will be placed in the church at noon Sunday.

Eli Hopkins

CHESTER - Mr. Eli Hopkins, 82, of 2191 Goings Road died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. today at St. Paul Baptist Church in Halseville, with the Rev. John Heath officiating and the Rev. Robert Brown assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chest-er County, Mr. Hopkins was a son of Amos Hopkins and Minnie Hopkins. He was the widower of Asalene Wilkes Hopkins. He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was retired from John C. Brown Cedar Co.

Surviving are two sons, Charley Mack Hopkins and Johnny Lee Hopkins, both of Chester; four daughters, Lula Bell Worthy and Lucille H. Watson, both of Rock Hill, Bessie Mae Hopkins of Bronx, N.Y., and Lorene Hopkins of Germany; his granddaughter whom he raised, Margie Lee Whitlock of Rock Hill; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home and at the home of Charley and Florence Hopkins, 902 Elks Road, Chester.

The body may be viewed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

The body will be taken to the church at 2:30 p.m. today.

Gertrude Isgett

PAMPLICO - Mrs. Gertrude Ozella Burrows Isgett, 88, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at a Florence nursing center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Pamplico First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery.

A native of Cades, Mrs. Isgett was a daughter of the late Henry Alston Burrows and Gussie Lenore Ammons Burrows. A homemaker, she was a member of Pamplico First Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph Leroy "Joe" Isgett Sr.; three sons, Legrand Isgett, Leonard Isgett and Bobby Isgett, all of Pamplico; six daughters, Dorothy Poole of Sumter, Christine Floyd of Garner, Janice Baggett of North Augusta, Sybil Caraway-Fields of Rock Hill and Gloria Lewis and Martha Jo Sutton, both of Pamplico; her brother, Ned Burrows of Timmonsville; 32 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

William Jordan

LANCASTER - Mr. William "Bill" Jordan, 72, of 991 Grace Ave. died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at White Springs Baptist Church, with the Revs. Bobby Bailey and Bobby Henderson officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will be at St. Luke United Methodist Church cemetery.

A native of Chesterfield County, Mr. Jordan was a son of the late Henry Jordan Sr. and Allie Outen Jordan. He was retired from Springs Industries. He was a Mason with Hart Lodge No. 308, a Shriner with the Hejaz Temple, a member of White Springs Baptist Church and an Air Force veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Dasie Gathings Jordan; his daughter, Annette Fleming of Lancaster; three brothers, Henry Jordan Jr. of Attlen, Pa., H.Z. Jordan of Salisbury, N.C., and Cecil Jordan of Hollywood, Fla.; three sisters, Faye Smith of Port Arthur, Texas, Mary Moore of Landis, N.C., and Frances Prospt of China Grove, N.C.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

Edward Logue

WEST TISBURY, Mass. - Edward J. Logue, the urban planner credited with putting a new face on Boston with projects such as Government Center and the revitalized waterfront, died Thursday. He was 78.

Logue was director of the Boston Redevelopment Authority, which pushed a number of projects during the 1960s. The new Government Center replaced the seedy Scollay Square. The city also got a redeveloped waterfront area and the Prudential Center.

The Faneuil Hall-Quincy Market restoration was conceived during Logue's years, though it wasn't opened until 1976.

It became one of the most-imitated community development projects in the country.

Logue stayed at the authority until 1967.

From 1968 to 1975, Logue was head of New York Gov. Nelson Rockefeller's newly formed New York State Urban Development Corp.

Reymundo Abarca-Escudero

YORK - Mr. Reymundo Abarca-Escudero, 20, of 730-F Highway 321 Bypass, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000.

The funeral Mass will be 6 p.m today at M.L. Ford Sons Funeral Home with Father Juan Carols Castano officiating. Burial will be in Panteon Municipal in Zacualtipan, Hidalgo, Mexico.

A native of Zacualtipan, Mr. Abarca-Escudero was a son of Humberto Abarca Ramon and Rufina Escudero De Abarca of Mexico. He was a general laborer with Matthews Con-struction Co. in Rock Hill.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his fiancé, Sami Jo Neil of York; his brother, Humberto Abarca-Escudero of Zacualtipan; and two sisters of Zacualtipan.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 9 p.m. today at M.L. Ford Sons Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Reymundo Abarca-Escudero fund, Las Americas, 730-D, Highway 321 Bypass, York, SC 29745.

Milton Amsrud

La Crosse, Wis. - Mr. Milton G. Amsrud, 88, of La Crosse died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Hillview Health Care Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Shumacher-Kish Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bernard J. McCarty officiating. Ennichement will be at a later date in Catholic Cemetery.

A native of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Mr. Amsrud was a son of the late Melvin Amsrud and Martha Young Amsrud. He graduated from Rockford High School in 1929 and was a member of the high school band that played in a special concert directed by John Phillip Sousa. Mr. Amsrud was an accountant at Erickson Bakery for many years.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Tevis Amsrud; two daughters, Karen Larson of St. Mary's, Ga., and Gail Hayes of Munsy, Pa.; two sons, Gene Amsrud of Genoa, Wis., and Roy Amsrud of Naperville, Ill.; two sisters, Ethel Brophy and Helen Riggenberg, both of Madison, Wis.; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home.
