HOPE MILLS, N.C. - Mrs. Frances Mixon Quinn, 67, of 6001 Loudon Circle, formerly of Rock Hill, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Carroll Memorial Baptist Church, with the Revs. Tony Buchanan and Richard Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park in Rock Hill.

Surviving are her husband, Marlon Quinn; three sons, Doug Quinn of Goose Creek, David Quinn of Hope Mills and Robert Quinn of Charlotte; her daughter, Donna Quinn of Goldsboro, N.C.; two brothers, Melvin Mixon of Decatur, Ala., and Frank Mixon of Fort Mill; her sister, Dot Parker of Lumberton, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and her great-granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to Carroll Memorial Baptist Church hymn fund, 2220 Camden Road, Fayetteville, NC

Naomi Stogner

LANCASTER - Mrs. Naomi Stack Stogner, 90, 438-A Colonial Ave., formerly of Paw Creek, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Thrift United Methodist Church in Charlotte, with the Revs. Gerald Ramsey and Kenneth Wren officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, West, in Charlotte.

A native of Union, N.C., Mrs. Stogner was a daughter of the late Walter Stack and Wincie L. Parker Stack. She was the widow of Bonner Stogner. A homemaker, she was a member of Thrift United Methodist Church.

Surviving are five brothers, J.W. Stack of Severn, Md., Odell Ingram of Greenville and James A. Ingram, Hazel Ingram and Howard Ingram, all of Lancaster; and her sister, Edith Sims of Lancaster.

Memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 3052 Taxahaw Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or Thrift United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 205, Paw Creek, NC 28130.

Willie Stroud

RICHBURG - Mr. Willie James Stroud, 51, of 115 Alice Gaston Road died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Love Charity Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.J. Baxter officiating and the Revs. Moses Lightner and Charlie McCullough assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mr. Stroud was a son of the late Ivory Stroud and Mae Liza Beaty Boulware. He was a member of Love Charity Baptist Church. He attended the public school of Chester County and was a former employee of Laxton Construction Co. in Charlotte.

Surviving are his son, Mike Stevenson of Chester; his grandmother who reared him, Luella Beaty of Richburg; and his grandson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester, and at other times at the home of Luella Beaty, 110 Circle Drive, Richburg.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at King's Funeral Home.

Sarah Baker

LANCASTER - Mrs. Sarah Gibson Baker, 78, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, with the Revs. Dr. James Spencer III and Donald Tillman officiating. Burial will be at Antioch Baptist Church.

A native of Newberry, Mrs. Baker was a daughter of the late Ernest Gibson and Zula Gibson. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and Springs Memorial Auxiliary. Mrs. Baker was a retired sales clerk and was a Sunday school and Training Union teacher at Antioch Baptist Church. She was the widow of Wendell Baker.

Surviving are two sons, Wayne Baker of Lancaster and John Baker of Marshville, N.C.; two daughters, Evelyn Watts of Lancaster and Libby Blackwell of Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Ernestine Riddle and Eveline Bishop, both of Newberry; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, and other times at the home of Wayne Baker, 1764 Tombeck Lane, Lancaster.

Margie Burleson

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Margie Emma Kincaid Burleson, 63, of 410 Cannon Drive died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Roddey Baptist Church, with the Rev. Calvin Morrow officiating and the Rev. Ray Faile assisting. Burial will be at the Neely Creek ARP Church cemetery.

A native of Malery, W. Va., Mrs. Burleson was a daughter of the late Charles W. Kincaid and Eura Fitzwater Kincaid. She was retired from Geneva Rubber Company of Geneva, Ohio, where she worked for more than 22 years. She was a member of Roddey Baptist Church where she served in the WMU.

Surviving are her husband, Paul W. Burleson Sr.; her son, Paul W. Burleson Jr. of Ashtabula, Ohio; three daughters, Marilyn B. Bean of Rock Hill and Diana B. Dense and Mary B. Mendrala, both of Ashtabula, Ohio; three brothers, Don Kincaid of Fort Pierce, Fla., Harold Lee Kincaid of Beckley, W. Va. and Dean Kincaid of Gauley Bridge, W. Va.; two sisters, Velma Burleson of Bent Tree, W. Va. and Maxine Gibson of Fayetteville, W. Va.; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Greene Funeral Home.

Edward Tautkas

FORT MILL - Mr. Edward Andrew Tautkas, 52, of 1018 Fort Mill Highway died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be private.

A native of Waterbury, Conn., Mr. Tautkas was a driver with Werner Brothers Trucking.

Surviving are his mother, Irene Pelletier Murray of Oquossoc, Maine; his father, Edward Anthony Tautkas; his stepfather, Donald Murray of Oquossoc, Maine; and his sister, Donna Gretton of Lithia, Fla.

Virginia Christian

DALLAS - Mrs. Virginia Anne Christian, 75, formerly of Rock Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at All Saints Episcopal Center.

A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. today at Forest Hills Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Woodland United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lee Bryant officiating.

A native of Chicago, Mrs. Christian was a daughter of the late Garet W. Denise and Elsie L. Brackett. She was a graduate of Green Mountain College in Poutney, Vt., and had her nursing degree from Aldephi University in Garden City, N.Y. She was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. She was a registered nurse and worked at Smith Enterprises as an industrial nurse. She was a hospital volunteer for Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill and was a member of Woodland United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Lyle M. Christian, former owner of Bass Funeral Home.

Surviving are her son, Christopher M. Christian of Atlanta; her daughter, Kari C. Jordan of Dallas; her brother, Richard Denise of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Peggy Donnelly of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Jean Rosenbaum of Knoxville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends after the memorial service at Woodland United Methodist Church.

William Howze

CHARLOTTE - Mr. William Berry "W.B." Howze Sr., 70, of 2725 W. Trade St., formerly of Edgemoor, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Vernon AME Zion Church in Edgemoor, with the Rev. J.E. Johnson officiating and the Revs. C.M. Booker, Jene Gilmore and Gary Smith assisting and eulogy given by the Rev. C.D. Crockett. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of Edgemoor, Mr. Howze was a son of Annie Howze and the late Roosevelt Howze. He worked for Carolina Scenic Stages and was retired from Johnson C. Smith University. Mr. Howze attended the public schools of York and Chester counties and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Mount Vernon AME Zion Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Burlessie Howze of Perrine, Fla; two daughters, Martha McCormick and Shirley Williams of Miami; three sons, William Howze Jr. of Miami and Richard McDonald and Michael McDonald, both of Charlotte; his brother, David Howze of Lancaster; five sisters, Mary Dantzler and Rose Booker, both of Charlotte, Della Howze of Chester, Elizabeth Dorn of Edgefield and Annie Howze of Columbia; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, 4435 Wylie's Mill Road, Edgemoor.

Alvin Satterfield Sr.

KINGS CREEK - Mr. Alvin Junior Satterfield Sr., 77, of 214 Kings Creek Drive died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Smyrna ARP Church, with the Rev. Kyle Sims officiating and the Rev. Richard Lambert assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Pelham, Mr. Satterfield was a son of the late Moss Satterfield and Irene Taylor Satterfield. He founded Satterfield Wood Working Inc. in Greer and graduated from Greer High School. He was a life member of the Masonic Lodge Bailey No. 146 in Greer and the Hejaz Temple in Greenville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Smyrna ARP Church. He was the widower of Inez M. Satterfield and Patsy H. Satterfield.

Surviving are his wife, Georgia Mitchell Satterfield; three sons, Alvin Junior Satterfield Jr. of Smyrna, Barry Scott Satterfield of Mauldin and Alvin Wayne Satterfield of Taylors; three daughters, Marisha Irene Boone of Dallas, N.C., Shawna Marie Collins of Conway and Donna Gayle Satterfield of Greenville; his stepson, William Mitchell III of York; his stepdaughter, Emily M. Watkins of Summerville; three brothers, Harold Satterfield of Greer, Floyd Satterfield of Greenwood and Roy Satterfield of Greenville; two sisters, Elizabeth S. Bridwell and Martha S. Summey, both of Greer; and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home.

Rosa Mackey

CATAWBA - Mrs. Rosa Line "Lump" Crockett Mackey of 2762 S. Anderson Road died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Tabernacle AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Herbert C. Crump officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Mackey was a daughter of the late Joseph Crockett and Emily Crockett. She was the widow of Walter Marshall Mackey. She was a member of Tabernacle AME Zion Church and attended Chester County public schools.

Surviving are her son, James "Billy" Mackey of Catawba; her stepdaughter, Thelma Reeds of Washington, D.C.; 28 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 68 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 5 to 6 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home in Rock Hill. The family will receive friends at the home of James "Billy" Mackey, 2756 S. Anderson Road in Catawba.

The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Hattie Ingram

LANCASTER - Mrs. Hattie Peay Ingram, 99, of 453 Clinton Ave. died Wednesday, Jan 26, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Zion AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Dr. Jewett L. Walker officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Ingram was a daughter of the late Anderson Peay and Louise Jackson Peay. She was the widow of George W. Ingram Jr. and resided in Rock Hill until his death. She then returned to Lancaster, where she had taught school for many years. She joined Mount Zion AME Zion Church, where she served in Sunday school, the Parent Body Missionary Society, the life members and the Methodist Women.

Surviving are 15 nieces; and 6 nephews.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday. The body will be placed in the church at noon Tuesday.

Marie Blanks

LAURENS - Mrs. Marie Overcash Blanks, 88, of 1 Martha Franks Drive died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Iredell County, N.C., Mrs. Blanks was a daughter of the late James A. Martin and Lena Mae Martin. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Laurens. She retired from J.P. Stevens after 22 years as a cloth inspector.

Surviving are her husband, John L. Blanks Jr.; her son, John L. Blanks III of Charlotte; and her granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center, 1 Martha Franks Drive, Laurens, SC 29360. or First Baptist Church, 300 W. Main St., Laurens, SC 29360.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery after the service.

Marsha Bledsoe

YORK - Mrs. Marsha Diane Hazelwood Bledsoe, 40, of 975 McAfee Court died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory in Princeton, W.Va., with Evangelist Danny Hazelwood officiating. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery.

A native of Princeton, Mrs. Bledsoe was a daughter of Billy K. and Edna Mae Dent Hazelwood of Elgood, W.Va. A graduate of Athens High School, she was of the Baptist faith. She was employed at Robertson's Brothers and moved to York County 10 years ago.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Mike Bledsoe; two daughters, Jennifer Bledsoe of the home and Stephanie Bledsoe of Fort Mill; six brothers, Jimmy Hazelwood of Peterstown, W.Va., Stewart Hazelwood of Rich Creek, Va., Dwight Hazelwood of Lindside, W.Va., Danny Hazelwood of Lerona, W.Va., Jeff Hazelwood of Princeton and David Hazelwood of Elgood, W.Va.; two sisters, Sandra Williams of Christiansburg, Va., and Kathy Bledsoe of Princeton; and her grandchild.

The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Directory.
