Clarence Cauthen Sr.

LANCASTER - Mr. Clarence Biggart Cauthen Sr., 86, of 260 Hagins Road in the Elgin community died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at St. Luke United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Carlos Gardner and Charles McAteer officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Cauthen was a son of the late Jim Biggart Cauthen and Maebelle Fleming Cauthen. Mr. Cauthen retired from Springs Industries Grace Plant as a shader in the packing department. He was a Mason and was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his son, C.B. Cauthen Jr. of Spartanburg; his daughter, Jane Johnson of Lancaster; his brother, Hazel Cauthen of Lancaster; four sisters, Louise Gardner, Sara Ellen Williams and Inez McCorkle, all of Lancaster, and Margaret Beckham of Heath Spring; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Jane Johnson, 282 Hagins Road, Lancaster.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 128 Providence Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or to White Oak Manor Activities Fund, 253 Craig Manor Road, Lan-caster, SC 29720 or the church of one's choice.

Gerald Hinton

ROCK HILL - Mr. Gerald "Jerry" Hinton of 236 Rhea St. died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will b 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pineville AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Dr. Eugene Goodwin officiating. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of York County, Mr. Hinton was a son of James Robert Hinton Sr. and Mattie Wright Hinton of Rock Hill. He was a member of Fundamental Bible Church. He was a 1977 graduate of Northwestern High School and attended the Rock Hill Vocational Rehabilitation Center. He also was a volunteer at the Emment Scott Center.

Surviving in addition to his parents are five sisters, Minnie H. Gordon, Mattie H. White, Mary H. Sauls and Janie H. Miller, all of Rock Hill, and Addie Mae Hinton of Charlotte; five brothers, Clinton W. Hinton, Richard Lee Hinton and Charles Hinton, all of Rock Hill, and James H. Hinton and Roosevelt Hinton, both of Charlotte; and his fiancee, Delores Johnson of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the home.

The body will be placed in church at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Bruce McIsaac Jr.

KERSHAW - Mr. D. Bruce McIsaac Jr., 72, of 1534 Horton Rollins Road died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.

Graveside services will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Beaver Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with the Revs. Buddy Bach and Paul Smith officiating.

A native of Savannah, Ga., Mr. McIsaac was a son of the late David Bruce McIsaac Sr. and Lucille Green McIsaac. He was a member of Beaver Creek Presbyterian Church. He was a retired technical assistant at DuPont and had attended The Citadel and Clemson University.

Surviving are his wife, Edith Jetton McIsaac; his son, David B. McIsaac of Lancaster; two daughters, Martha Floyd of Victoria, Texas, and Deeda Coffey of Belmont, N.C.; his brother, Malcolm McIsaac of Kershaw; his sister, Sue Mullen of Kershaw; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel, and at other times at the home.

Hazelean Stevenson

CHESTER - Mrs. Hazelean Perry Stevenson, 77, of 3127 Lyles Road died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Rehoboth AME Zion Church, with the Rev. W.H. Woods Jr. officiating and the Rev. Moses Lightner assisting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born in Chester County, Mrs. Stevenson was a daughter of the late Willie Barber and Della Perry. She was the widow of John Willie Stevenson. She was a retired domestic worker and was a member of Rehoboth AME Zion Church, where she was a former choir member and stewardess board member. She had attended Chester County public schools.

Surviving are four sons, Willie James Stevenson and Charles Stevenson, both of Chester, Horace Stevenson of Richburg and Bobby Stevenson of Catawba; four daughters, Della McCrorey and Shirley Strong, both of the home, Essie Beaty of Chester and Ellen McCullough of Rock Hill; 33 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home. The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St.

Minnie Compton

BISHOPVILLE - Mrs. Minnie Ruth Compton died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, in Okeechobee, Fla.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be at Davis Cemetery in Lee County.

A native of Lee County, Mrs. Compton was a daughter of the late Daniel H. Berry and Maggie M. Davis Berry.

Surviving are her husband, Norman N. Compton Sr.; her son, Norman N. Compton Jr. of Okeechobee; six daughters, Norma Ruth Compton Leadingham of Limestone, Fla., Ava Dannell Stefanick of El Granada, Calif., Victoria Lee Hucker of Landenberg, Pa., and Barbara Jean Hatfield, Margaret Seymour and Brenda Sharpe, all of Columbia; four sisters, Joye B. Nesbit and Bonnie B. Smith, both of Myrtle Beach, Cartha Hopkins of Bishopville and Wanda Suaso of Rock Hill; two brothers, Ellis Berry of Ashwood and Howell Berry of Little Mountain; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home.

Frances Everidge

FORT MILL - Mrs. Frances Teressia Everidge, 68, died Sunday Feb. 20, 2000, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Harrison United Methodist Church, with Dr. Mark Plummer and the Rev. Steve Jacks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of High Point, N.C., Mrs. Everidge was a daughter of Ada Myrtle Therrell of Charlotte. She was a member of the Harrison United Methodist Church, the Ladies Sunday school class, the church choir and Ladies Circle. She was the former owner/operator of the Country Kitchen and 521 Grocery.

Surviving in addition to her mother are three sons, Robert Steven Sullivan of Hampstead, N.C.; Erby Everidge Jr. of Fort Mill and James Everidge of Fort Mill; her daughter, Janine Everidge of Charlotte; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road at other times at Charlotte Square, 5820 Carmel Road.

Eugene Foster

ROCK HILL - Mr. Eugene Foster, 45, of 348 Scoggins St. died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home, with the Revs. Hattie Foster, Larkin Hancock, Charles Sanders and Susan Denne officiating. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Foster was a son of Grady and Alice Cathcart of Rock Hill. He attended Trinity Baptist Church. He was a former employee of Ostrow Textile Co. He was a doffer a Springs Industries. He attended the public schools of York County.

Surviving in addition to his parents, are his wife, Amy Pickett Foster; three children, Yukoto Cherry of Rock Hill, Taylor Foster and Jehovia Foster, both of the home; his brother, Grady Cathcart Jr. of Rock Hill; and his sister, Lashell Cathcart Jones of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends at the home.

The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Robinson Funeral Home.

Nell Funderburk

LANCASTER - Mrs. Nell Mackey Funderburk, 85, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Lancaster Memorial Park, with the Rev. Needham Williamson officiating.

A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Funderburk was a daughter of the late Robert Ernest Mackey and Florence Hunter Mackey Bruce. She was the widow of John D. Funderburk. She was a retired floral designer. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Evelyn Bagley Sunday school class and the United Methodist Women. She was a member of a bridge club, Lancaster Garden Club, Lancaster Study Club and served as past president of Springs Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Surviving are her sister, Ruth M. Rowell of Lancaster.

Nannie Gaston

ROCK HILL - Ms. Nannie Gaston, 92, of 840 Green St. died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Dundee Nursing Home in Bennettsville.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Red Oak AME Zion Church in Edgemoor, with the Rev. Gary W. Smith officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Ms. Gaston was a daughter of the late Will Gaston and Pearline Roberson Gaston.

Surviving are her daughter, Mildred Gaston Watson of Rock Hill; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Parker Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Robin Hefner

EDGEMOOR - Ms. Robin Bass Hefner, 41, of Edgeland Road died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. David Wooten officiating.

A native of Rock Hill, Ms. Hefner was a daughter of Ann Simpson Bass of Edgemoor and the late Robert J. Bass. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her son, Matthew Blanks of Monroe, N.C.; her daughter, Jessica Blanks of Monroe; two brothers, Jimmy Bass of Edgemoor and Greg Bass, both of Floresville, Texas; her sister, Kay Johnson of Edgemoor; and her paternal grandmother, Janie Medlin of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Mitchell, 3495 Mount Holly Road, Edgemoor.

ORANGEBURG - Mrs. Hazel J. Holeman, 80, of 1180 Wolfe Trail died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Jolley Acres Health Care Center.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville.

A native of Pueblo, Colo., Mrs. Holeman was a daughter of the late William Donoho and Mayme Decker Donoho. She was the widow of Marion R. Holeman. She was the retired owner and operator of Poinsett's Choice Flower and Gift Shop in Greenville. She was a member of Seroptomist International and the BPWA.

Surviving are Ray A. Holeman of Orangeburg and Jack L. Holeman of Rock Hill; and four grandchildren.

Nettie Lawson

GADSDEN, Ala. - A memorial service for Dr. Nettie Black Lawson, 89, will be 7 tonight at Collier Butler Funeral Home, with the Revs. James Newell and Rutledge Landers officiating. Entombment will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sharon Memorial Park Mausoleum in Charlotte.

Dr. Lawson was a daughter of the late James Elbridge Black and Mary Lenora Hipp Black. She was the widow of Dr. C.L. Lawson. Dr. Lawson did her undergraduate work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a graduate of the Medical College of Tennessee in Memphis, Tenn. She practiced general medicine for more than 37 years before her retirement in 1978.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Pastor's Sunday school class, the American Medical Association, and the Medical Association of Alabama.

Surviving are two sons, Charles L. Lawson of Rock Hill and Larry L. Lawson of Gadsden, Ala.; her sister, Mrs. H.H. Todd of Charlotte; and her granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight at Collier Butler Funeral Home.
