R. Dylan Hembree

ROCK HILL - Mr. Robert Dylan Hembree, 26, of 3097 Longmeadow Road died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tom Patterson officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.

Born in Charlotte, Mr. Hembree was a son of Gary Wayne Hembree and the late Judy Elizabeth Hembree. He was a musician.

Surviving, in addition to his father, are two brothers, Mike Hembree of Charlotte and Gary Hembree Jr. of Rock Hill; his sister, Sandi Davis of Rock Hill; his paternal grandparents, James and Margaret Corder of Rock Hill; and his maternal grandparents, Lorenzo and Margie Alford of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home.

Richard Bradshaw

LARGO, Fla. - Mr. Richard "Ricky" Dewey Bradshaw, 42, formerly of Fort Mill, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Sisk Memorial Baptist church, with the Rev. Jim Herron officiating and the Rev. Gene Flack assisting. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.

A native of Fort Mill, Mr. Bradshaw was a graduate of Fort Mill High School and the University of West Florida. An Air Force veteran, he was employed by the Department of the Treasury in Tampa, Fla.

Surviving are his parents, Helen Newell Bradshaw and Floyd Richard Bradshaw of Fort Mill; and his sister, Lisa Bradshaw Bryant of Fort Mill.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 9 tonight at Sisk Memorial Baptist Church family life center and at other times at the home of his parents.

Memorials may be made to the AIDS Coalition of Pinellas County, 410 Ft. Harrison Ave., Clearwater, FL 33755.

Winnie Faulkner

CLOVER - Mrs. Winnie David Stewart Faulkner, 75, of 207 Flat Rock St., died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at home.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bethany ARP Church Cemetery, with the Revs. Alan Morrow and Marvin Carson officiating.

A native of Cherokee County, N.C., Mrs. Faulkner was the daughter of Haskel Stewart and Sally Pruitt Stewart. She was a member of Bethany ARP Church.

Surviving are her husband, William Jasper Faulkner Sr.; two sons, Bruce Faulkner and Bill Faulkner, both of Clover; her daughter, Mary Ann Faulkner of Clover; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will be receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at M.L. Ford Sons Funeral Home.

Sophia Barnette

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Sophia Mae Barnette of 1231 Haynes St. died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. Clyde Raymond officiating and the Rev. L.L. Robertson assisting. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Barnette was a daughter of the late Charlie Pink Page and Amanda Page. She was the widow of Herbert Barnette. She was a nurses aide at York General Hospital for many years. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Musical Choir, Missionary Circle No. 2 and Fellowship Club. She was a member of Retirees Club of York General Hospital and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving are three sons, Darrish Wayne Barnette of Kings Mountain, N.C., Herbert Jerome Barnette of Columbia and Maj. Patrick Bernard Barnette of Eatontown, N.J.; three sisters, Lula Page of Washington and Juanita Howell and Margaret McNeal, both of Rock Hill; her brother, Jesse Page of Washington; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

The body will be taken to the church at noon Saturday.

Benjamin McCorey

ROCK HILL - Mr. Benjamin Jones "B.J." McCorey, 91, of 243 W. Black St. died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at his home.

The funeral will be at noon Saturday at First Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. L.L. Hancock officiating and the Revs. Ira Roddy, Virginia B. Wilmore and Mary Alston assisting. Burial will be at Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mr. McCorey was a son of the late Sam Jones and Mary Jane McCorey. He attended the Chester County public schools. He was a veteran of World War II and served in France and earned the Purple Heart. He was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church and a retired carpenter.

Surviving are his wife, Rosa J. McCorey; his son, Jessie McCorey of Rock Hill; his daughter, Dorothy McCorey of Rock Hill; his brother, Charles McMullen of Rock Hill; and 15 grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Macon Funeral Home.

The body will be taken to the church at noon Saturday.

Catherine Myers

LANCASTER - Mrs. Catherine Laverne Blackwood Myers, 61, of 1418 McIlwain Road died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. today at Hartley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Stewart officiating.

A native of Augusta, Ga., Mrs. Myers is a daughter of the late Ellis Odell Blackwood and Laura Mae Allen Blackwood. She retired from Springs Industries and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are her husband, L.J. Myers of the home; three sons, Donald Myers, Stephen Myers and Michael Myers, all of Lancaster; her daughter, Susan Myers of Lancaster; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, 1728 Hollybrook Lane.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crestview Baptist Church, 2228 Douglas Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Wilma Pinner

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Wilma West Pinner, 99, of 4654 Pennington Road, formerly of Tabor City, N.C., died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Spring Arbor.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakland Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Shrum and the Rev. Harold Coleman officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Warsaw, N.C., Mrs. Pinner was a daughter of the late Edgar West and Annie West. She was the widow of Charles Harland Pinner. She taught school in North Carolina public schools and was a graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Jeanne Pinner Hood of Rock Hill and Mary Jo Pinner Lassiter of Raleigh; her sister, Margaret Pollock of Mooresville, N.C.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at church after the service and at other times at the home of Jeanne Hood, 4654 Pennington Road.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Lucille Akery

CHESTER - Mrs. Lucille Grant Akery, 77, of 504 Ashford Road died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Chester Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Curtis Marshall officiating.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Akery was a daughter of the late Thomas Ben Grant and Nannie Wallace Grant. She was retired from Springs Industries. She attended the schools of Chester County and was a member of Orrs Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph "Joe" Akery; her brother, Alvin B. Grant of Springfield, Ill.; four sisters, Dorothy G. Adkins, Betty Jean Boulware and Barbara G. Gibson, all of Chester, and Mary Frances Poole of Richburg; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Orrs Baptist Church, 1266 Lancaster Road, Chester, SC 29706.

Jeannette Culp

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Jeannette Wilson Culp, 72, of 818 Jefferson Ave. died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ray Thompson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Culp was a daughter of the late Elmo Pride and Rosezelle Wilson Dunham. She was a member of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She attended Chester County public schools.

Surviving are her husband, Melzin U. Culp Sr.; four sons, Johnny E. Culp of Edgemoor and Charles N. Culp, Joseph C. Culp, and James L. Culp, all of Rock Hill; five daughters, Maggie Culp and Mary C. Burns, both of Rock Hill, Bertha C. Cook of Aiken, Rosa C. Parrott of Charlotte and Barbara C. Starr of Radcliffe, Ky.; two brothers, Allen J. Wilson and James O. Dunham, both of Rock Hill; four sisters, Maggie J. Barnette, Zelma R. Barber, Eula M. Hines and Barbara J. Mobley, all of Rock Hill; 27 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home.

Sue Davis

LANCASTER - Mrs. Sue Mae Laney Plyler Davis, 91, of 705 W. Barr St. died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at West Side Cemetery, with the Rev. Needham Williamson officiating.

A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Davis was a daughter of the late Henry Washington Plyler and Ellen Virginia Funderburk Plyler. She was the widow of Robert Victor "Vic" Davis Sr. A homemaker, Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Lander College. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Lancaster Garden Club. She was an avid bridge player and was on the commission that set up the Juvenile Court in Lancaster.

Surviving are her son, Robert Victor Davis Jr. of Orangeburg; two stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home.

Oscar Feaster Sr.

ROCK HILL - Mr. Oscar Feaster Sr., 59, of 4540 Ivy Wood Drive died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Baptist Church in Lowrys, with the Rev. Bobby Featherstone officiating and the Revs. George Lowry, Darial Jackson and Pastor John P. Kee assisting. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

A native of Chester County, Mr. Feaster was a son of the late William Robert Feaster and Sylvia Chisholm Feaster. He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir. He was a 1960 graduate of Finley High School in Chester. He was employed by Hoechst Celanese for 25 years, where he was a member of the fire brigade. He was a member of Acaia Masonic Lodge No. 32, the AP&B Society No. 4.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Culp Feaster; his son, Oscar Gerald Feaster Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; his daughter, Katisha Kendra Kimberly Al-Qa'sim of Rock Hill; his granddaughter whom he reared, Essence Deviona Bishop; two brothers, Frazier Feaster of McConnells and Andrew Feaster of Rock Hill; eight sisters, Erma Rainey and Minnie Campbell, both of Chester, Christine Sapp and Bernice Feaster, both of Rock Hill, Bertha Feaster of Hyattsville, Md., Mary Jane Stevenson of Detroit, Willie Bell Loyd of Charlotte and Mary Bruce of Virginia; two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home.

The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

Bessie Greer

NORCROSS, Ga. - Mrs. Bessie Tatum Greer, 95, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home, Peachtree Chapel. Burial will be at Peachtree Memorial Park.

Mrs. Greer was a master tailor for Muse's & Parks Chambers for 40 years. She was a member of the Duluth Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She was the widow of Waymon Greer.

Surviving are three daughters, Florence Christopher and Sylvia Hughes, both of Norcross, and Hazel Ivy of Rock Hill; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 tonight at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home.

Sara Huskey

GAFFNEY - Mrs. Sara Helen Austell Huskey, 95, of 612 Concord Road died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at Peachtree.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Grassy Pond Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Roger Aycock officiating.

A native of Cherokee County, Mrs. Huskey was a daughter of the late John Austell and Addie Thomas Austell. She was the widow of Jennings R. Huskey. Mrs. Huskey was a retired seamstress and a member of the Grassy Pond Baptist Church, Senior Citizens Club and Ladies Circle.

Surviving are two sons, Billy Bryan Huskey and Tom Huskey, both of Greenville; four daughters, June H. Lanier and Kathryn H. Grayson, both of Shelby, N.C., and Mary H. Mussman and Laura H. Hicks, both of Gaffney; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchild.

The family will be at the home of Laura Hicks, 209 Grassy Pond Road, Gaffney.

Memorials may be made to Grassy Pond Baptist Church family life center.
