Betty McCormick

CHESTER - Mrs. Betty Jean Baker McCormick, 68, of 746 Great Falls Road died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Westside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mark Chapman officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

A native of Chester, Mrs. McCormick was a daughter of the late John Curtis Baker and Dessie Phillips Baker.

She was a retired custodian at the S.C. Department of Highways and Public Transportation.

She attended the Chester County schools and was a member of Westside Baptist Church.

Surviving are four sons, James Curtis McCormick, Donald William McCormick and James Harold McCormick, all of Chester, and Calvin Cope of Richburg; her daughter, Candy McCormick Barber of Chester; three brothers, Curtis Baker and Hazel Baker, both of Chester, Carl Baker of Greenville; her sister, Coleen Lucas of Great Falls; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.

Barron Funeral Home is in charge.

Martha Neely

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Martha N. Neely, 77, of 2095 Neely Store Road died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Friendship United Methodist Church, with the Revs. David Taylor and Paul Hutchison officiating.

Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of York County, Mrs. Neely was a daughter of the late Thomas Crawford Neely and Grace Hughes Neely.

She was the widow of Harry Eugene Neely.

Retired from the Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co., she was co-owner of Neely's Country Corner Store.

She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her son, Gene Neely of Rock Hill; two daughters, Christie N. Caveny of Rock Hill and Judy N. Zeldin of Arcadia, Calif.; two sisters, Frances Kirkpatrick of Columbia and Peggy White of Rock Hill; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Gene and Betty Neely, 2131 Neely Store Road.

Charles Rogers

LANCASTER - Mr. Charles "Lindy" Rogers, 67, of 1068 East Shore Drive died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at home.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Lancaster Memorial Park, with the Rev. Ken Cauthen officiating.

A native of Bishopville, Mr. Rogers was a son of the late Henry Grover Rogers and Daisy Branham Rogers.

Mr. Rogers was an antiques dealer and an alumni of Connie Maxwell Home in Greenwood.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Cooper Rogers of Lancaster; his son, Charles Linn Rogers of Columbia; and two sisters, Rose Calder and Ethel Bryson, both of Lancaster.

The family will receive friends at home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lancaster, 800 W. Meeting St., Lancaster, SC 29720.

Destiny White

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Miss Destiny White, 3-year-old daughter of Ian White and Theresa Holbert of Riverside, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000.

The funeral will be Thursday in Riverside.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her brother, James Holbert of Riverside; her sister, Ianna Glover of Rock Hill; her grandparents, Phyllis Power of Riverside, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald White of Rock Hill; her great-grandmother, Elizabeth White of Rock Hill.

Tillman Funeral Home is in charge.

Dianne Woodward

LANCASTER - Mrs. Dianne Dunlap Woodward, 54, of 4502 Rowell Road died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Grace Free Will Baptist Church, with the Revs. Gary McInvaille and Darrell Morgan officiating.

Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Woodward was a daughter of the late Leo Carl Dunlap and Sadie Louise Whitaker Dunlap.

She was a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Johnny Lee Hopkins of Clewiston, Fla., and Randy Lee Hopkins and Thomas Stewart Hopkins, both of Lancaster; her daughter, Nancy Louise Plyler of Monroe, N.C.; her brother, Joe Dunlap of Lancaster; five sisters, Sadie Bolick of Hickory, N.C., and Nancy Seegars, Shirley Bryson, Frances Benton and Bonnie Funderburk, all of Lancaster; and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Joe Dunlap, 1151 Laurel Ave., Lancaster.

Janie Biggerstaff

CLOVER - Mrs. Janie Turner Biggerstaff, 85, of 104 Faulkner St. died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Hutchison officiating.

Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

A native of Rutherfordton County, N.C., Mrs. Biggerstaff was a daughter of the late Rowland Turner and Elizabeth Self Turner.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was the retired owner and operator of Biggerstaff Motel and Restaurant.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She was the widow of Ford Biggerstaff.

Surviving are her son, Harold Biggerstaff of Clover; two sisters, Irene Dayberry of Cary, N.C., and Darcus White of Morganton, N.C.; and her grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 124 Bethel Street, Clover, SC 29710 or to the charity of one's choice.

John Creamer

FORT MILL - Mr. John Elvin Creamer, 58, of 505 Shallow Branch Court died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at home.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church.

A native of New Haven, Conn., Mr. Creamer was a son of the late Robert Creamer and Betty Wilson Creamer.

He was the director of technology for Litton/Airton in Charlotte. He was a member of the Fort Mill Golf Club.

Surviving are his wife, Jill Kinchler Creamer; his son, Brett Creamer of Tampa, Fla.; his daughter, Karin Jewell of Rock Hill; three brothers, Robert Creamer of Texas, Charles Creamer of Connecticut and William Creamer of Vermont; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Bruce and Karin Jewell, 1567 Crestdale Road, Rock Hill.

Jeannette Culp

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Jeannette Wilson Culp, 72, of 818 Jefferson Ave. died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ray Thompson officiating.

Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Culp was a daughter of the late Elmo Pride and Rosezelle Wilson Dunham.

She was a member of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She attended Chester County public schools.

Surviving are her husband, Melzin U. Culp Sr.; four sons, Johnny E. Culp of Edgemoor and Charles N. Culp, Joseph C. Culp, and James L. Culp, all of Rock Hill; five daughters, Maggie Culp and Mary C. Burns, both of Rock Hill, Bertha C. Cook of Aiken, Rosa C. Parrott of Charlotte and Barbara C. Starr of Radcliffe, Ky.; two brothers, Allen J. Wilson and James O. Dunham, both of Rock Hill; four sisters, Maggie J. Barnette, Zelma R. Barber, Eula M. Hines and Barbara J. Mobley, all of Rock Hill; 27 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home.

Sheila Deese

CROSS ANCHOR - Miss Sheila Marie Deese, 23, of 775 Highway 49, formerly of York, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Greg Pressley officiating.

Born in Rock Hill, Miss Deese was a daughter of Michael and Luanne Deese of York and Tim and Wanda Davis of Lincolnton, N.C. She was a waitress at Roma's Family Restaurant in Woodruff.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her fiance, Joseph Clippard of Cross Anchor; three daughters, Cheyenne Deese, Christian Clippard and Hannah Clippard, all of Cross Anchor; three sisters, Michelle Hayes of Rock Hill, Debbie Queen of Lincolnton and Jennifer Deese of York; her brother, Logan Davis of Lincolnton; two stepsisters, Mandy Cruse and Nikki Davis, both of Lincolnton; and her grandparents, Ray and Joyce Deese of Newton, N.C, J.B. and Jackie Hucks of Chester, and Ted and Betty Punch of Memphis, Ind.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after the service Tuesday at the home of Mike and Luanne Deese, 1198 Meadowbend Drive in York.

Oscar Feaster Sr.

ROCK HILL - Mr. Oscar Feaster Sr., 59, of 4540 Ivy Wood Drive died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Baptist Church in Lowrys, with the Rev. Bobby Featherstone officiating and the Revs. George Lowry, Darial Jackson and Pastor John P. Kee assisting.

Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

Masonic Rites will be 6 p.m. Monday at King's Funeral Home.

A native of Chester County, Mr. Feaster was a son of the late William Robert Feaster and Sylvia Chisholm Feaster.

He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir.

He was a 1960 graduate of Finley High School in Chester.

He was employed by Hoechst Celanese for 25 years, where he was a member of the fire brigade.

He was a member of Acaia Masonic Lodge No. 32, the AP&B Society No. 4.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Culp Feaster; his son, Oscar Gerald Feaster Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; his daughter, Katisha Kendra Kimberly Al-Qa'sim of Rock Hill; his granddaughter whom he reared, Essence Deviona Bishop; two brothers, Frazier Feaster of McConnells and Andrew Feaster of Rock Hill; eight sisters, Erma Rainey and Minnie Campbell, both of Chester, Christine Sapp and Bernice Feaster, both of Rock Hill, Bertha Feaster of Hyattsville, Md., Mary Jane Stevenson of Detroit, Willie Bell Lloyd of Charlotte and Mary Bruce of Virginia; two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home.

The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

Eulala Jones

LAKE WYLIE - Mrs. Eulala Jones, 48, of 532 Stateline Road in the Oakridge Community died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Good Samaritan United Methodist Church in Lake Wylie, with Pastor Randy Madsen officiating.

Surviving are her companion, Melvin Morrison of Clover; her husband, Woodrow Jones of Bridgeport, Conn.; her sister, Joyce Hooks of Bridgeport; and four godchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home. The body will be cremated.

Thompson Funeral Home is in charge.

Ervin Marsh

CHESTER - Mr. Ervin Pittman "Buddy" Marsh, 64, of 638 Pinckney Road died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at West Side Cemetery in Lancaster, with Danny Sexton officiating.

A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Marsh was a son of the late Enoch Marsh and Mary Cooper Marsh.

He was previously employed with offshore oil drilling companies.

Surviving are his son, Ryan T. Marsh of Waynesville, N.C.; his daughter, Mary A. Marsh of Lancaster; his brother, E. Terry Wilkes of Chester; and his sister, Joyce Terry of Charleston.

The family will receive friends Monday evening at the home of Terry and Phyllis Wilkes, 130 Lancaster St., Chester.
