YORK - Dylan Rey Totherow, infant son of Layton and Trina Lynn Totherow of 13591 W. Highway 55, died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A graveside service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Pineville City Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Bill Cabe officiating.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Brian Barbour and Nathan Totherow, both of the home; two sisters, Miranda Sturgill and Kimberlyn Cox, both of the home; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Woodward of the home; paternal grandfather, Harry Totherow of Fort Mill; his maternal grandmother, Linda Hagler of Michigan, and his maternal grandfather, Ken Sturgill of Ohio.

Wolfe Funeral Home is in charge.

Clothielda Vinson

RICHBURG - Mrs. Clothielda Scott Vinson, 71, formerly of Lando, died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Lando Methodist Church, with the Rev. Sam Warwick officiating. Burial will be at Lando Cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Vinson was a daughter of the late Robert Scott and Madge Bailey Scott. She was the widow of Jesse O. Vinson. Mrs. Vinson was a member of Lando Methodist Church and was retired from Manette Mills.

Surviving are two sons, Robert "Bill" Scott Vinson of Rock Hill and Thomas "Tommy" E. Vinson of Colorado Springs, Colo; five daughters, Kathy V. Partain of Chester, Vanessa V. Chappell of Rock Hill, Madge V. Hinnant of Richburg, Renee V. Blanchett of Edgemoor and Sue V. Hutchinson of Jefferson; her brother, Thomas Scott of Edgemoor; three sisters, Mary Scott Coker of Edgemoor, and Doris Ernandez and Peggy Scott, both of Richburg; 24 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Vinson was predeceased by a daughter, Amanda V. Rollins.

Memorials can be made to Lando Methodist Church.

Frances Dalton

KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. - Mrs. Frances Ann Grant Dalton, 66, of 106 Mayberry Lane, formerly of Chester, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Hospital in Shelby, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Barron Funeral Chapel, Chester, with the Revs. Ron Roddey and David Black officiating. Burial will be at Capers Chapel Methodist Cemetery.

A native of Chester, Mrs. Dalton was a daughter of the late Jack Grant and Lillie Ruth Grant. She was a homemaker and was the widow of Burns E. Dalton.

Surviving are three daughters, Patricia Greene and Peggy Poag, both of Chester, and Anita Dellinger of Kings Mountain, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St. Chester.

Jeanette Dover

CLOVER - Mrs. Jeanette Farris Dover, 75, of 1399 Ole Cambridge Road died Friday, March 3, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Clover, with the Rev. Dave Stanford officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Dover was a daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Farris and Johnnie Callie Carpenter Farris. She was retired from Piedmont Medical Center and was a member of First Baptist Church, Clover.

Surviving are her husband, Walter Lewis Dover, of the home; three sons, Fred Lewis Dover and Johnny Howard Dover, both of Clover, and Perry Jonathan Dover of Myrtle Beach; her brother John Arthur Farris of York; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Clover from 5:30 to 7:30 tonight.

Della Henderson

LANCASTER - Mrs. Della Bolin Henderson, 76, of 723 Gillsbrook Road died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at home.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday in Lancaster Memorial Park, with the Rev. Lawrence Peebles officiating.

A native of Cleveland County, N.C., Mrs. Henderson was a daughter of the late Ervin Bolin and Nannie Bell Bolin. She was the widow of Ervin Andrew Henderson.

Mrs. Henderson was a retired employee of Springs Industries Grace Bleachery, was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a member of Douglas Presbyterian Church.

The family will receive friends at Mahaffey Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight.

Virda Horton

KERSHAW - Mrs. Virda Blackmon Horton, 78, of 8524 Old Jefferson Highway died Friday, March 3, 2000, at home.

The graveside service will be 3 p.m. today at the Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Bobby Austin officiating.

A native of Heath Springs, Mrs. Horton was a daughter of the late Sam Clifford Blackmon Sr. and Cola Couch Blackmon. She was a retired Springs Industries employee and was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Emmett Horton; three sons, Gerald A. Knight, Charles W. Knight and Ronnie E. Knight, all of Kershaw; her daughter, Peggy Louise Freedman of Lancaster; three brothers, Ben Blackmon of Lancaster, and Clifford Blackmon Jr. and Bob Bruce Blackmon, both of Heath Springs; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home at 8506 Old Jefferson Highway, Kershaw.

Joann Jessie

FORT LAWN - Mrs. Joann Wolford Jessie, 59, of 644 Weston Acres Road died Friday, March 3, 2000, at home.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Greenlawn Cemetery, Great Falls, with the Rev. Thomas Brazell officiating.

A native of Pike County, Ky., Mrs. Jessie was a daughter of the late Claude Wolford and Edna Sipple Wolford. She was a homemaker and was a graduate of Matewan High School in Mingo County, W.Va.

Surviving are her husband Stewart Grant Jessie; four sons, Stewart C. Jessie of Rock Hill, and Daniel Jessie, Timothy Jessie and Christopher Jessie, all of Fort Lawn; four brothers, Claude Wolford of Portsmouth, Ohio, Jim Wolford and Charles Wolford, both of Fort Lawn, and Leon Wolford of Lancaster; three sisters, Betty Jane McGee of Columbia, Mildred Leggett of Fort Lawn, and Judy Lynn Whorton of Rixieville, Va.; and her grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home and at other times at the home of George and Mildred Leggett, 1425 Casey Leggett Lane, Fort Lawn.

WEST COLUMBIA - Mrs. Kate Sellers Roberts, 82, of 2821 Shadblow Lane died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at the National Health Care Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel, with the Rev. John Davis officiating. Burial will be at Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery.

A daughter of the late Samuel and Martha Sellers, Mrs. Roberts was a member of First Baptist Church of Delray Beach, Fla., and was a retired bookkeeper for the City of Delray Beach.

She was the widow of Wade F. Roberts.

Surviving are her daughter, Patricia R. Matthews of West Columbia, her sister, Mary Lee Wainwright of Hollywood, Fla., four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel, and other times at the home of Ed and Nola Faulkenberry, 270 Millstone Road, Kershaw.

Lema Tolbert

LANCASTER - Mrs. Lema Elizabeth Blackwell Tolbert, 79, died Friday, March 3, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dale Roach officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Kershaw County, Mrs. Tolbert was co-owner of the Red Rose Motel for 22 years and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Early Blackwell and Florence Elizabeth Ellis Blackwell. She was the widow of Bennie C. "Pete" Tolbert.

Surviving are her son, Billy Wayne Tolbert Sr. of Lancaster; her brother, Quency B. Blackwell of Lancaster; her sister, Monnie Estes of Lancaster; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster and other times at the home of Billy Wayne Tolbert Sr., 1014 Chaffee Road Extension, Lancaster.

Rue Cunupp Sr.

ROCK HILL - Mr. Rue Jackson Cunupp Sr., 88, of 286 Cherry St., died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at Beverly Health Care.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greene Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.

Mr. Cunupp was a son of the late Richard Cunupp and Fronnie Taylor Cunupp. He retired from the Mooresville Mill in Mooresville, N.C., and was a member of Celriver Church of God. He was the widower or Ruth Sisk Cunupp.

Surviving are his two sons, Rue J. "Jack" Cannupp of Columbia and Jerry Cunupp of Catawba; his two daughters, Loris Tucker and Joyce Williams, both of Rock Hill; his two sisters, Wilma Helms of Mooresville and Mildred Logan of Columbia; two granddaughters whom he raised, Gwenda Burton of Eden, N.C., and Linda Pittman of Catawba; 22 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Loris Tucker, 286 Cherry St.

James Ford Sr.

CHESTER - Mr. James William Ford Sr., 75, of 642 Stamie Drive died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Chip Sneed officiating. Burial will be at Old Purity Cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mr. Ford was a son of the late John A. Ford Sr. and Lucinda Chambers Ford. He was the widower of Nancy W. Ford. He was a retired plumber with American Heating and Plumbing and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. A member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, he attended Chester County schools.

Surviving are his son, James W. "Jimmy" Ford Jr. of Chester; two daughters, Susan F. Robbins and Cindy F. Peeples, both of Chester; his brother, Charles "Buddy" Ford of Chester; his sister, Jane F. Janyssek of Richburg; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Mary Holton

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Mrs. Mary Ellen Holton, formerly of Chester and Charlotte, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at Pellcare Nursing Home.

The family will receive friends at the home of Charlie and Peggie Hopkins, 105 Edward St., Chester.

Janie Mae Joyner

HEATH SPRINGS - Mrs. Janie Mae Lucas Joyner, 77, of 2510 Hemlock Road died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Rich Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Brooks Walker officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Pageland, Mrs. Joyner was a daughter of the late Neal Smothers and Mae Douglas Smothers. She was the adopted daughter of the late Lee Lucas and Hattie Lucas. A member of Rich Hill Baptist Church, she was retired from Springs Industries.

Surviving are her son, Bruce Joyner of Lancaster; her daughter, Linda Diane Vincent of Kershaw; her brother, Bobby Lucas of Jefferson; three sisters, Dorothy Byrd of White Rock, Frances Hilton of Lancaster and Sara Black of Charlotte; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel.

Christine McMiller

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Christine McMiller, 54, of 809 Taylor St. died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at Ebenezer Nursing Home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at First Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. L.L. Hancock officiating. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. McMiller was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving are her sister, Annie Singleton of Rock Hill; her caretaker, Louise Pratt of Rock Hill; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 tonight at Parker Funeral Home.
