Edward Earnhardt

COOLEEMEE, N.C. - Mr. Edward Junior Earnhardt, 78, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner V.A. Medical Center in Salisbury, N.C.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Lyerly Funeral Home's James C. Lyerly Chapel, with the Rev. Darrell Norris officiating. Burial will be at the Union Lutheran Church cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Rowan County Veterans Council.

A native of Rowan County, N.C., Mr. Earnhardt was a son of the late Charles Edward Earnhardt and Ida Mae Thompson Earnhardt.

Mr. Earnhardt attended Rowan County schools. He was a World War II veteran. He retired from the U.S. Navy after serving 20 years. He was a member of Union Lutheran Church in Salisbury.

Surviving are two daughters, Nita Morgan of Cleveland, N.C., and Diane Lane of Rock Hill; three brothers, Frank Earnhardt of Cooleemee and Robert Earnhardt and Grady "Pete" Earnhardt, both of Salisbury; two sisters, Edna Bentley and Mabel Bentley, both of Salisbury; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Lyerly Funeral Home, 515 S. Main St., Salisbury, and at other times at the home of Nita Morgan of Cleveland.

Nell Glenn

CLOVER - Miss Nell Hope Glenn, 80, of 417 Knox St. died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at White Oak Manor in York.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Bethel Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. John Gess officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of York County, Miss Glenn was a daughter of the late Clarence Hope Glenn and Ida Robinson Glenn. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and was retired from NCNB of Charlotte.

Surviving are her sister, Evelyn McCarter of Clover; three nephews and her niece.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church, 2445 Highway 557, Clover, SC 29710.

Eunice Martin

CHESTER - Mrs. Eunice Pearl Wilson Martin, 87, of 1878 J.A. Cochran By-Pass died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. Hilton Johnson officiating.

A native of Greer, Mrs. Martin was a daughter of the late William S. Wilson and Mazie Waddell Wilson. She was the widow of Samuel Martin. Mrs. Martin was retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, June Martin of Katy, Texas; her sister, Oveda Reid of Oviedo, Fla.; two grandchildren whom she reared, Denise Landrum of Knoxville, Tenn., and Joy Jolley of Houston; and her great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 477, Chester, SC 29706.

Lewis Hendricks

EASLEY - Mr. Lewis Lesesne "Tim" Hendricks, 58, of 1569 Dacusville Highway, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church of Easley. Internment will follow at the Ariail Hendricks Family Cemetery.

A native of Montgomery, Ala., Mr. Hendricks was a son of the late Lewis Elliot and Margaret Lesesne Hendricks. He attended Pickens High School and was graduated from Dreher High School in Columbia. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University in 1963 and served in the U.S. Army as a first lieutenant stationed in Germany.

He retired from IBM as a senior marketing representative and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a coach for youth basketball and a member of the board of trustees of the Caesar's Head Community.

Surviving are his wife, Alice Thomas Hendricks of Easley; two sons, Lewis Lesesne Hendricks and Thomas Marion Hendricks, both of Easley; his daughter Margaret West of Rock Hill; his brother Stephen Elliot Hendricks of Cleveland, Tenn.; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Friday in the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall.

Memorial may be made to the First United Methodist Church building fund, P.O. Box 582, Easley, SC 29641.

Mary Holton

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Mrs. Mary Ellen Wright Holton, formerly of Chester and Charlotte, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at Pellcare Nursing Home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Baptist Church in the Halseville community of Chester, with the Rev. John Heath officiating and the Rev. Moses Lightner assisting.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Holton was a daughter of the late Alfred Burris and Mary Eliza Wright. She joined St. Paul Baptist Church at an early age and attended Finley High School.

Surviving are her son, Ulysses Head Jr. of Charlotte; two daughters, Myrtle Head McCoy of Alexandria, Va. and Gloria Head of Charlotte; two brothers, William Stinson and Charlie Hopkins, both of Chester; and four grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road, Chester.

The family will receive friends at the home of Charlie and Peggie Hopkins, 105 Edward St., Chester.

Alice Laffitte

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Mrs. Alice Morgan Laffitte, 91, of Tallahassee died Wednesday, March 8, 2000.

A graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at Miccosukee United Methodist Church cemetery.

A native of Quincy, Fla., Mrs. Laffitte was a homemaker and member of Lloyd United Methodist Church. She was a member of Lloyd Women's Club.

Surviving are two sons, Dr. Rondeau G. Laffitte Jr. of Rock Hill and Morgan B. Laffitte of Tallahassee; her brother, Frank F. Morgan of Quincy; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Lloyd United Methodist Church, Route 5, Box 5785, Lloyd, FL 32344.

Donald Liverpool

YORK - Mr. Donald Robert Liverpool, 74, of 262 Cameron Road died Saturday, March 4, 2000.

The memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Parker Funeral Home, with Billy Wilson officiating.

An army veteran, Mr. Liverpool was a retired New York City police officer.

Surviving are two sons, Donald Liverpool Jr. of New York and Mark Liverpool of California; his daughter, Adrienne Wherry of Rock Hill; his brother, Raymond Liverpool of Brentwood, N.Y.; his sister, Bernice Grant of New York; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the memorial service.

Shirley Kiser

FORT MILL - Mrs. Shirley Dean Helms Kiser, 64, of 246 Drane Circle died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Bethel Freewill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Darrell Morgan officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.

A native of Monroe, N.C., Mrs. Kiser was a daughter of the late Robert and Helen Pauline Helms. She was the widow of Luther B. Kiser. A homemaker, she was a member of Bethel Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Dennis Lee Kiser of Rock Hill; four daughters, Joyce Pate, Mary McCall, Hope Kiser and Joan Miller, all of Fort Mill; two brothers, Nelson Adams and Gene Adams, both of Waxhaw, N.C.; two sisters, Maggie Glen and Faye Bradley, both of Waxhaw; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bethel Freewill Baptist Church and at other times at the home of her daughter, Mary McCall, 2325 Sunset Circle, Fort Mill.

Nathan Johnson

LANCASTER - Mr. Nathan Edward Johnson, 74, of 760 Farmbrook Road, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at his home.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Antioch Baptist Church with the Revs. Kenneth Wren and Donald Tillman officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

A native of Chesterfield County, Mr. Johnson was a son of the late Percy L. Johnson and Lessie Desse Johnson. He retired from Spring Industries Lancaster Plant and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was a mason at Antioch Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Retirees' Music Band.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Blackmon Johnson; five sons, Ralph Johnson, Tommy James, Randy James and Nicky James, all of Lancaster, and Gene Johnson of Fountain Inn; two daughters, Dianne Mackey of Lancaster and Debra Evans of Indian Trail, N.C.; two sisters, Gladys Johnson and Ethel Moore, both of Kannapolis, N.C.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hartley Funeral Home in Lancaster.

Harry Ludlam

CONWAY - Mr. Harry Legrand Ludlam, 80, of Adrian Parkway died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at WJBD Veterans Administration Center in Columbia.

The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at Bakers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, with the Revs. Lamar Squires and Glenn C. Burris Sr. officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Horry County, Mr. Ludlam was a son of the late Stanley Ludlam and Sudie Todd Ludlam. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was member of Bakers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World.

Surviving are two sons, Wayne Ludlam and Ralph Ludlam, both of Rock Hill; his daughter, Diane Ludlam of Conway; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home.

Mary O'Neill

KERSHAW - Mrs. Mary Elaine Otremba O'Neill, 58, of 5088 Fernwood Drive died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Haile Gold Mine Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steve Anglin officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

A native of Baltimore, Mrs. O'Neill was the daughter of the late Walter Adam Otremba and Francis Marie Kevaleski Otremba. She was a member of Haile Gold Mine Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Raymond O'Neill of Kershaw; three sons, Michael A. O'Neill of Woodbridge, Va., Raymond O'Neill Jr. of Glenburnie, Md., and Jeffery Scott O'Neill of Dundalk, Md.; her daughter, Shelia Willsey of Cliffton Park, N.Y.; her brother, Walter J. Otremba Jr. of Honolulu; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel.

Gracie Sullivan

JEFFERSON - Miss Gracie B. Sullivan of Jefferson died Wednesday, March 8, 2000.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fork Creek United Methodist Church.

A native of Jefferson, she was a daughter of the late William C. Sullivan and Millie K. Sullivan. She was a lifelong member of Fork Creek United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sisters, Gertrude S. Hatcher of Jefferson and Myrtle S. Matthews of Rock Hill; two brothers, Howard Sullivan and Billy L. Sullivan, both of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the home.

Nancy Boatwright

FORT MILL - Mrs. Nancy Kee Boatwright, 71, formerly of 115 Elm St., died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Wolfe Funeral home, with the Rev. James Herron officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park in Rock Hill.

A native of Gates County, N.C., Mrs. Boatwright was a daughter of the late Wheary Wilson "Pet" Kee and Gretchen L. Butler Kee. She was the widow of Carl David Boatwright.

She was retired from Springs Industries after 40 years of service as a spinner at the White Plant. She also worked for Stroup's Department Store and Kimbrell's Auto Sales. She was a member of Sisk Memorial Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, David W. Boatwright, Kevin Wayne Boatwright and Carl Brian Boatwright, all of Fort Mill; three daughters, Linda Kay Hall, Martha Jean Kimbrell and Debra B. Fields, all of Fort Mill; two sisters, Audrey Pressley of Waxhaw, N.C., and Geraldine Parker of Fort Mill; four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her daughter, Martha Jean Kimbrell, 1938 Vista Road, Fort Mill.
