Ommie Deese

NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. - Mrs. Ommie "Janet" Boatwright Deese, 62, of 1000 College St. died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Avanta-Wilkes Nursing Home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery in Flat Creek, with the Rev. John Shehan officiating.

A native of Fort Mill, Mrs. Deese was a daughter of the late Samuel T. Boatwright and Clara Rainey Boatwright. She was the widow of Thomas Edsel Deese. A homemaker, she was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are her son, David Walker of Rock Hill; her daughter, Katina Lynn Adams of McConnells; three brothers, Billy Wayne Boatwright, Rick Boatwright and Fred T. Boatwright, all of Rock Hill; and her granddaughter.

Greene Funeral Home in Rock Hill is in charge.

Edward Ingram

LANCASTER - Mr. Edward J. "Red" Ingram, 82, of 998 Sherwood Circle died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at Sunshine Village in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church, with the Rev. William Walters officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Sharon, Pa., Mr. Ingram was son of the late Joseph Roy Ingram and Sarah Hallis Ingram. He was a graduate of Thiel College in Greenville, Pa., with a degree in engineering. Mr. Ingram was a retired engineer for Rolling Mill Machinery. He was a Shriner, was a Mason with the Hart Masonic Lodge No. 380 and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine Fauceglia Ingram; his son, Richard Ingram of Rock Hill; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home. Masonic rites will be given prior to visitation.

Geneva Douglas

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Geneva Williams Douglas, 115, formerly of Rock Hill, died Friday, March 3, 2000, at Adventist Health Care Center in Washington, D.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Mason officiating. Burial will follow at New Zion Baptist Church cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Douglas was the widow of Sonny Douglas and lived most of her adult life in New Jersey. She was a former member and co-founder of Canaan Baptist Church in Newark, N.J., where she sang in the choir and served as president of the pastor's Aide Club.

Mrs. Douglas was later a member of United Missionary Baptist Church in East Orange, N.J., and was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Until three years ago, she was a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Rock Hill before moving to live with relatives in Hyattsville, Md.

Surviving are three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, including Loretha Morton, her guardian, of Hyattsville.

The body will be placed in the church at noon Saturday.

Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.

Florence Earnhardt

MONROE, N.C. - Mrs. Florence Rodgers Earnhardt, 91, of Monroe died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at Union Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Central United Methodist Church in Monroe, with the Rev. J. Matthew Burton Jr officiating. Burial will be at Lakeland Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Earnhardt was the daughter of the late William John Rodgers and Eudosia Perry Rodgers. A homemaker, Mrs. Earnhardt was the widow of Cyrus Parsons Earnhardt Sr.

Surviving are three sons, Cyrus P. Earnhardt Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C., John W. Earnhardt of Charlotte and Roger L. Earnhardt of Raleigh, N.C.; her daughter, Dianne E. Nordan of Monroe; her brother, Carl E. Rodgers of Mineral Springs, N.C.; two sisters, Bess R. Pettus of Indian Land and Alta R. Howie of Fort Mill; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight. at McEwan Funeral Home in Monroe.

Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 801 S. Hayne St., Monroe, NC 28112 or to a charity of one's choice.

Ronnie Crump

PAGELAND - Mr. Ronnie Edward Crump, 48, died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at Union Regional Medical Center in Monroe, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wolf Pond Baptist Church, with the Rev. Frank Longshore officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

A native of Union County, N.C., Mr. Crump was a son of Olin Edward Crump of Denver and the late Sarah Louise Rape Crump.

Surviving in addition to his father are his wife, Linda Cannon Crump; two sons, Ronnie Edward Crump Jr. of Pageland and Stephen Paul Crump of Rock Hill; his brother, Danny Crump of Sanford, N.C.; his sister, Cindy Gopaul of Pageland; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Gordon Funeral Service in Monroe.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Union County Chapter, c/o Georgia McGuirt, 1324 Tomberlin Road, Monroe, NC 28110.

Charles Mikles Sr.

LANCASTER - Mr. Charles Alfred "Shorty" Mikles Sr., 55, of Saddle Road died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene, with the Revs. Robert Cook and Wayne Dills officiating. Tim Walker will give the eulogy. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.

A native of Welch, Va., Mr. Mikles was a son of the late Charles Alexander Mikles and Eunice Landreth Mikles. He was an electrician with Springs Industries White Plant.

Surviving are his wife, Judy Jackson Mikles; two sons, Charles Mikles Jr. of Lancaster and Kevin Mikles of El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Art Mikles of Fort Mill and Ray Mikles of Dayton, Ohio; four sisters, Ocra Auzier of Jacksonville, Fla., Opal Collins of Dayton, Orethea Muncy of Chicago and Ottie Mikles of Miamisburg, Ohio; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home in Fort Mill and at other times at the home.

Donald Liverpool

YORK - Mr. Donald Robert Liverpool, 74, of 262 Cameron Road died Saturday, March 4, 2000.

The memorial service will be 3 p.m. today at Parker Funeral Home, with Billy Wilson officiating.

An army veteran, Mr. Liverpool was a retired New York City police officer.

Surviving are two sons, Donald Liverpool Jr. of New York and Mark Liverpool of California; his daughter, Adrienne Wherry of Rock Hill; his brother, Raymond Liverpool of Brentwood, N.Y.; his sister, Bernice Grant of New York; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the memorial service.

Lula Young

CHESTER - Mrs. Lula Mae Franklin Young, 67, of 106 Sterling St. died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Upper Hope Station Baptist Church in Fairfield County, with the Rev. James Coleman officiating and the Revs. Robert Z. Bailey, Mose Lightner, J.D. McClurkin and R.L. McClurkin assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery

A native of Fairfield County, Mrs. Young was the daughter of the late Alfonzo Franklin and the late Mary Johnson Franklin. She attended Fairfield County schools and was retired from the Chester County Hospital housekeeping department after 26 years of service.

Mrs. Young also was a member of Upper Hope Station Baptist Church, the senior choir, the missionary society and the AP Lodge.

Surviving are her husband, Dave Young; two sons, David Young and Malcolm Young, both of Rock Hill; two daughters, Annie R. Young and Gorlia Young, both of Chester; two brothers, Nesbitt Franklin of Chester and Willie Franklin of Richmond, Va.; her sister, Ida Coleman of Baltimore; four grandchildren whom she reared, Leon Young, Twawanda Young, Tyshicka Gregory and Creasha Gregory; seven other grandchildren, nine great-children; and two great-great grandchildren.

The family is receiving friends at the home. The body will lie in state at the church at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Ann Maloney

ROCK HILL- Mrs. Ann Boyd Maloney, 72, of 595 Twin Lakes Road died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Sonshine Village in Clover.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Greene Funeral Home chapel, with the Revs. Jan Senneker, Meredith Cavin and Grover Timms Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodside Cemetery in Clover.

Mrs. Maloney was a daughter of the late Pressley Wideman Boyd and Eliza Laveonia Adams Boyd. She was retired after 17 years of service to M. Lowenstein Son as a claims adjuster. She was a member of the Variety Club of Rock Hill for more than 40 years and was a member of Clemson Home Extension Club, the Sunshine Club and Tirzah Associate Reform Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her husband, Edward Saye Maloney; her daughter, Mary Alice Maloney Gibson of Ruston, La; two sisters, Frances A. Timms of Winnsboro and Betty Ford of Clover; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home in Rock Hill or other times at the home.

Lucile Gamble

MONROE, N.C. - Mrs. Lucile McManus Gamble, 85, of Monroe died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Union Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Lakeland Memorial Park, with the Rev. Albert Hinson officiating.

A native of Union County, N.C., Mrs. Gamble was a daughter of the late Herod Martin McManus and Dora Eliza King McManus. She was the widow of Robert Luther Gamble and was retired from Springs Industries in Fort Mill.

Surviving are her daughter, Mildred G. Hargette of Monroe; her sister, Dorothy "Lib" Pettus of Fort Mill; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. today at McEwen Funeral Home in Monroe.

Howard Allietta

ROCK HILL - Mr. Howard B. Allietta, 72, of Meadow Lakes Road, formerly of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hopko Funeral Home in Parma, Ohio. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Allietta was a U.S. Army veteran and the widower of Hallie M. Snodgrass Allietta.

Surviving are two stepsons, Delton C. Baire and Bert Baire Jr., both of Rock Hill; his stepdaughter, Carolyn S. Gennaro of Dennison, Ohio; his sister, Gladys L. Munzer of Tempe, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Hopko Funeral Home, 6020 Broadview Road, Parma, Ohio, from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service.

Wilhelmina Babcock

DETROIT - Mrs. Wilhelmina Leathers Babcock of St. Manors Place, formerly of Chester, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at Harper Hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by Gore's Funeral Home in Chester.

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Sarah Gertrude Beard, 84, of 429 Pendleton St. died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Bass Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bruce Wyatt officiating. Burial will be at Shady Grove United Methodist Church cemetery.

A native of York County, Mrs. Beard was a daughter of the late William Gaines Erwood and Kate Comer Erwood. She was the widow of John Russell Beard. Mrs. Beard was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. A homemaker, she was an avid doll collector.

Surviving are her son, Winfred "Wimpy" L. Beard of Edgemoor; her daughter, Brenda Starnes of Rock Hill; two sisters, Hazel Smith of Spartanburg and Ruth Fowler of Columbia; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bass Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Brenda Starnes, 1515 Sheheen St.

Earl Eudy

HEATH SPRINGS - Mr. Earl Eudy, 72, of 4253 Flat Creek Road died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at High Point Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joey Burnett officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Cheraw, Mr. Eudy was a son of the late Jady Eudy and Daisey Marie Quick Eudy. He was a member of High Point Baptist Church, an Army veteran and a retired self-employed carpet and floor covering technician.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Rogers Eudy; five sons, Lloyd Eudy, Ben Eudy and Douglas "Doug" Eudy, all of Lancaster, and Steve Eudy and Robert Larry Eudy, both of Kershaw; his daughter, Delaine Polk of Monroe, N.C.; two sisters, Maude Reeder of Monroe, N.C. and Betty Lou Nickles of Davidson, N.C.; two brothers, J.U. Eudy of Elk Grove, Calif., and Bill Eudy of Monroe; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.
