Ann Maloney

ROCK HILL- Mrs. Ann Boyd Maloney, 72, of 595 Twin Lakes Road died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Sonshine Village.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at the Greene Funeral Home chapel, with the Revs. Jan Senneker, Meredith Cavin and Grover Timms, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodside Cemetery in Clover.

Mrs. Maloney was a daughter of the late Pressley Wideman Boyd and Eliza Laveonia Adams Boyd. She was retired after 17 years of service to M. Lowenstein & Son as a claims adjuster. She was a member of the Variety Club of Rock Hill for more than 40 years and was a member of Clemson Home Extension Club, the Sunshine Club and Tirzah Associate Reform Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her husband, Edward Saye Maloney; her daughter, Mary Alice Maloney Gibson of Ruston, La; two sisters, Frances A. Timms of Winnsboro, and Betty Ford of Clover; and three grandchildren.

The family will be at home.

Charles Mikles Sr.

LANCASTER - Mr. Charles Alfred "Shorty" Mikles Sr., 55, of Saddle Road died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene, with the Revs. Robert Cook and Wayne Dills officiating. Tim Walker will give the eulogy. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.

A native of Welch, Va., Mr. Mikles was a son of the late Charles Alexander Mikles and Eunice Landreth Mikles. He was an electrician with Springs Industries White Plant.

Surviving are his wife, Judy Jackson Mikles; two sons, Charles Mikles Jr. of Lancaster and Kevin Mikles of El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Art Mikles of Fort Mill and Ray Mikles of Dayton, Ohio; four sisters, Ocra Auzier of Jacksonville, Fla., Opal Collins of Dayton, Orethea Muncy of Chicago, and Ottie Mikles of Miamisburg, Ohio; and two grandchildren.

Wolfe Funeral Home in Fort Mill is in charge.

D. William Plyler

LANCASTER - Mr. Dewey William "Bill" Plyler, 81, of 1329 Bailey Road died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Camp Creek Baptist Church, with the Revs. Cecil Johnson and N.J. Neely officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Plyler was a son of the late Franklin Cisero Plyler and Bleeka Adams Plyler. He was retired from Springs Industries. He was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Flora Mae Hancock Plyler of White Oak Manor in Rock Hill; two sons, Dewey F. Plyler of Lancaster and Billy Ray Plyler of Heath Springs; three stepsons, Donnie Bowers, Mark Smith and Glenn Smith, all of Lancaster; two daughters, Shirley Ann Deese and Barbara Ann Taylor, both of Lancaster; his brother, Julius Cisero "J.C." Plyler of Lancaster; three sisters, Frances Plyler, Ollie Mae Tolbert and Kathleen "Pat" Plyler, all of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and companion, Elsie Mae Smith of the home.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

Lula Mae Young

CHESTER - Mrs. Lula Mae Franklin Young, 67, of 106 Sterling St. died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Upper Hope Station Baptist Church in Fairfield County, with the Rev. James Coleman officiating and the Revs. Robert Z. Bailey, Mose Lightner, J.D. McClurkin and R.L. McClurkin assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery

A native of Fairfield County, Mrs. Young was the daughter of the late Alfonzo Franklin and Mary Johnson Franklin. She attended Fairfield County schools and was retired from the Chester County Hospital housekeeping department after 26 years of service.

Mrs. Young also was a member of Upper Hope Station Baptist Church, the senior choir, the missionary society and the AP&B Lodge.

Surviving are her husband, Dave Young; two sons, David Young and Malcolm Young, both of Rock Hill; two daughters, Annie R. Young and Gloria Young, both of Chester; two brothers, Nesbitt Franklin of Chester and Willie Franklin of Richmond, Va.; her sister, Ida Coleman of Baltimore; seven grandchildren, including two whom she reared, Leon Young and Twawanda Young; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family is receiving friends at the home.

Michael Cooper

GREAT FALLS - Mr. Michael Edward Cooper, 29, of 15995 S.C. 200 died Friday, March 10, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Dearborn United Methodist Church. Burial will b e at Greenlawn Cemetery with the Revs. Tony Medlin and Larry Roberts officiating.

A native of Lancaster, Mr. Cooper was a son of Mary Cooper and the late George Cooper of Great Falls. He was member of Mount Dearborn United Methodist Church and attended Grover Pundt Center and Chester Activity Day Care.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his brother, Elbert Cooper of Great Falls; his sister, Melody Cooper of Great Falls; and his maternal grandmother, Doris Lynn of Great Falls.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Walter Davis

SURFSIDE BEACH - Mr. Walter Frank Davis, 88, of 619 Cypress Drive died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at Georgetown County Hospital in Georgetown.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster chapel, with the Rev. Robert Adams officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster, Mr. Davis was a son of the late Frank Columbus and Maggie Davis. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Mill and was retired from Springs Industries. Mr. Davis also worked at the Springmaid Beach Pier and belonged to the Kingfishing Club of Myrtle Beach. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the U.S. Army's 7th Calvary and was a former member of the Fort Mill American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Willie Davis; two sons, Frank Davis of Pawleys Island and Allen Davis of Murrells Inlet; his daughter, Bernice Allman of Charlotte; eight grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service Monday at Cauthen's Funeral Home in Lancaster.

William Massey

ROCK HILL - Mr. William Henry "Pop" Massey, 78, of 930 Crawford Road died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Baptist Church, with the Rev. C.S. Sanders officiating and the Revs. W. Banks White, William Bryson, W.T. Massey and Osbey Roddey assisting. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Massey was a son of the late Henry Massey and Julia McDowell Massey. He was a retired carpenter and self-employed construction contractor.

Surviving are his wife, Henrietta Floyd Massey; three sons, Raymond Massey and Curtis Massey, both of Rock Hill, and William Wylie Massey of Charlotte; his daughter Denise Massey Funderburk of Greensboro, N.C.; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home.

The body will be viewed from 3 to 6 tonight and 9 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home.

Louise Lucas

FORT LAWN - Mrs. Louise Lenora Wilson Lucas, 86, of Brown Ferry Road died Friday, March 10, 2000, at Chester County Hospital in Chester.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Temple Baptist Church, with the Revs. Larry Plyler and Curtis Cameron officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Lucas was a daughter of the late Ernest M. Wilson and Pearl Lenora Gwin Wilson. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Surviving are her daughter, Doris Beckham of Filbert; and 12 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster chapel.

Eula Ross

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Eula Greene Ross, 68, of 4020 Pinehurst Drive died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. William Heustess officiating.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Ross was the daughter of the late Oscar T. Greene and Lela Privette Greene. A widow of Charles Clifford Ross Sr., Mrs. Ross was a retired from Hoechst Celanese Corp., where she worked for more than 40 years. She was a member of the India Hook United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Charles C. Ross Jr. of Gastonia, N.C., and Donald L. Ross of High Point, N.C.; her daughter, Debbie Ross McDaniel of Catawba; two brothers, Thomas Greene and Bill Greene, both of Chester; her sister, Lucille Woodward of Rock Hill; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the home.

Donald Wilson

FORT MILL - Mr. Donald Ray "Bo" Wilson, 47, of 858 Fort Mill Highway died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at hone.

The memorial service will be held at a later date.

A native of Fort Mill, Mr. Wilson was a son of the late George Ray and Mabel Wilson. He was a founding member and president for 16 years of God's Few Motorcycle Club. Mr. Wilson was a member of American Legion Post No. 43 in Fort Mill. He enjoyed traveling and working on his motorcycles.

Surviving are his daughter, Stephanie James of Aiken; his sister, Deborah Wilson of Fort Mill; his grandchild; and his companion, Sharon Vincent.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

William Bordelon

ROCK HILL -"Mr. William "Bill" Bordelon, 88, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at Magnolia Manor.

The graveside service will be 3 p.m. today at Forest Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. Harold D. "Bo" Coleman officiating.

A native of Marksville, La., Mr. Bordelon was a son of the late Gilbert Willie Bordelon and Emma Matilda Bordelon. A retired baker for National Biscuit Co., Mr. Bordelon was a former Civitan, was a World War II Army veteran and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are his wife, Louise S. Bordelon of Magnolia Manor; two daughters, Ann B. English and Mary Louise Bordelon, both of Rock Hill; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.

Freddie Mae Chappelear

LANCASTER -"Miss Freddie Mae Chappelear, 71, of 1302 Yancey St. died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Temple Baptist Church, with the Revs. Larry Plyler and W.C. Wallace officiating. Burial will be at West Side Cemetery.

A native of Anderson, Miss Chappelear was a daughter of the late Fred Purcell and Maudie Haulbrooks. She was a retired Springs employee and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Richard E. Chappelear of Lancaster; her brother, Fred M. Chappelear of Fort Mill; and her sister, Doris Swilling of Lancaster.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.
